A cute and cozy place away from the chaos of the main streets and tourist spots. Friendly staff and quick service. Our dishes were delicious and tasted like homemade. Recommended!

I recently visited the Lindengarten and felt completely at home! The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, ideal for a relaxed evening. The beer garden is very pleasant—perfect for sitting outside. The food was classic Bavarian and absolutely delicious: my roast pork was tender, the dumplings wonderfully fluffy, and the sauce beautifully aromatic. The service and staff were also impressive—attentive, friendly, and unhurried. The value for money is also good here. I'd be happy to come back!

A superb and truly excellent restaurant in Munich. It was a perfect setting for our event. The staff were cheerful, fun to laugh with, and made eating and celebrating even more enjoyable.

Lindengarten is a fantastic spot for a true Bavarian beer garden experience. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with plenty of shaded seating under beautiful trees that make it perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon or a cozy evening. The beer is outstanding—fresh, cold, and perfectly poured—and pairs wonderfully with their traditional Bavarian dishes. The staff are friendly and efficient, creating a welcoming vibe whether you’re a local or a visitor. It’s easy to settle in with a Maß of excellent beer and some hearty food while soaking up the authentic Munich charm. Lindengarten delivers everything you’d hope for in a beer garden and is well worth a visit if you’re looking for great beer, good food, and a classic Bavarian atmosphere.

We were here in the beer garden today after a bike ride. The service was very friendly, the food delicious and lovingly prepared, and the atmosphere in the beer garden was lovely, with a small play area for children. We barely noticed the road running by. We'd love to come back.

Update 2025: Every year when I visit Munich, it's a celebration, and I dream of being served here! The food is consistently high quality and the service is wonderful! 2024: Great menu, everything tasted excellent, and the service was attentive, polite, and fast. There were 18 of us and we received our various meals practically at the same time. Is Germany a service desert? Not here!

A really nice restaurant for a good bavarian (not german!) meal. The service was quick and spoke very good english. We went here after a long drive all the way from holland but the schnitzel and really nice service made our day. We loved the way the service was passioned about the city of munich and he gave us pleanty of tips. Really recommend going here when you are nearby!

I absolutely love this place! The outside area is spacious with a sandy play area for young children inside an actual boat hull. There are trees to give shade on one side of the garden and umbrellas on the other side of you want to enjoy the sun. The inside is such a neat, dark wood, German experience. The staff are always very friendly and have been very patient with our limited German language (often helping us learn new words:) The food is delicious! Hats off to the chef for a good rack of ribs that wasn’t dry! The Roastbeef Rosa is wonderful on a hot day!! They are very dog friendly both inside and out. I highly recommend a visit to Lindengarten!

I was there for a birthday party with my two dogs, and I was very pleased with everything. The location is great, the service was very attentive, hardworking, open, and friendly. My dogs were also well looked after. I had the roast pork and found it delicious. The meat and dumplings were all excellent. We'd love to come back, and I'm looking forward to the next time.

I've eaten at Lindengarten several times, both inside and outside, and often ordered takeaway. The food is always very good, the portions are reasonable, and the staff are always very friendly. There's only one reason why I'm only giving it 4 stars: recently, changing a side order costs a flat rate of €1 extra. This is justified by the extra work and "disrupted workflows" it causes in the kitchen. In our case, the side dish for our schnitzel was changed from potato salad to fries. If this change already upsets the kitchen staff, it gives a rather unprofessional impression. It's perfectly fine that crazy special requests cost extra, but going from one standard side dish to another is something I can't understand, even with the best will in the world. It's not about the €1; it's about the impression it creates.

We were here for lunch on May 1st, 8 people in total. I have loved going to the linden garden since I was a child and also to the “new” tenant. Unfortunately, since we rarely live outside of Munich anymore. The beer garden has grown beautifully, the ship as a playground is great and you have a good view of the kids from everywhere. My kids had nuggets with fries which were excellent! We also had everything from asparagus, burgers, fries, roast pork... my husband particularly raved about the hollandaise. The food was very tasty, the service was super fast and friendly. I deducted one star because you have to pay something for a change in the order and, for example, more ketchup. I wanted fries instead of potato salad and that cost €1. I think that's a bit exaggerated, I work in the catering industry myself and I think that's upsetting to some people. If someone wants 30 packs of ketchup, okay, but if the kids need even more ketchup then that shouldn't be a problem.

Super great shop with a terrace, service like the food was all top. I don't understand some of the comments, people, it's just not fully equipped with tables because in Germany there is simply a lack of capable staff in the catering industry. If you don't have a sense of humor about the service, you really shouldn't go to the door and start watching TV and have the food delivered. Otherwise I can recommend that if you would like to enjoy some sun with a cocktail, this is the place for you

Flawless, great tasting dinner delivered. Very plentiful, individual dishes well separated in the packaging... and the food was really hot too.. We are completely satisfied (and full) and have decided to visit the "Lindengarten" in person as soon as possible.

If I am correct, there was a recent change of tenant (as of March 2025). A lot has improved since the new tenant came to the premises. The food (typical for a Bavarian restaurant) is very good: roast pork, schnitzel, kässpätzle, etc. Unfortunately, the beer garden is relatively small compared to classic beer gardens, such as the nearby Franziskanergarten. Therefore the name “Lindengarten” is a bit misleading, because the inn is actually dominant compared to the beer garden. But still: You can eat and drink very well there, so I highly recommend it.

I couldn't have made the duck better. The sauce is great, the staff is nice and they fulfill every wish. Super cool and the apple whiskey, cinnamon, apple juice stuff is awesome. Unfortunately I ate first and then took the photo 🫣🤫

Sensational! For 10 years we have been inviting our customers to eat and celebrate together at a trade fair in January with another company. The boss and employees at the Lindengarten are sensationally on their toes, friendly, flexible, accommodating, and the food and service were once again simply terrific. Our guests were thrilled this time too! Thanks.

Local is definitely recommended. The dishes taste very good, portions are decent, nicely decorated. There is a large selection, dishes made from poultry, pork, game and fish, unfortunately not many beef dishes. Vegetarians will also find something nice. The service is very nice, people are always welcome and small requests (exchanging side dishes or something similar) are never a problem. Ambience is not unusual, typical for Bavarian restaurants, looks clean, including toilet. Since part of the family (parents who are less mobile) live in the area, we come there relatively often to celebrate birthdays and the like. In my opinion - by far the best restaurant in the area.

Large restaurant with adjoining rooms that is showing its age. Down-to-earth cuisine with occasional unusual dishes on the weekly menu. The service staff are friendly and attentive. In summer there is a beautiful beer garden with old chestnut trees. Parking on the streets is extremely difficult or even impossible, especially in the evenings.

We stopped here completely by chance because the beer garden was on the way to Lake Riem. The service was very friendly and, above all, child-friendly. The kids were thrilled with the wooden toy boat and were very busy. Food and price/performance also good.

Nice decor, very tasteful. Service absolutely top. The food. I can only rate the meat plants. A bit mushy. Why there has to be a gingerbread sauce with this remains a mystery to me. It fits like a glove. But very nicely prepared. Pretty expensive, the store. 16.80 euros for the not so great plants is clearly too much.

The food is of good quality. However, the prices are quite steep. The service is a bit too relaxed. You have to wait a long time to reorder a drink or pay. The many mosquitoes in the beer garden are also annoying.
