Very beautifully situated. Large self-service beer garden. Only had coffee, so I can't comment on the food.

The food was creative and delicious. We had a great time with you. I also liked that they offered bitter drinks with soda; I liked that.

POSTSCRIPT: Now we've been back to Konrad 2 with a different picture, so I've lowered my star rating! The waitress in the restaurant was bored and told us she didn't make mixed drinks. Since we wanted a shandy and a wine spritzer, we were very surprised. Only after asking for samples were we able to order them. We also wanted food, but only after asking did we (two people) receive a menu, even though there were no guests in the dining room and she had nothing else to do. We sat down at a table so we wouldn't have to choose our food while standing, like we would in a snack bar. She didn't understand. We ordered the food and drinks and were handed the drinks with the words that she would bring the food out. Unfortunately, the food wasn't like, "See below!" The sausage had a skin that was difficult to cut with a knife, but the fried meat was tasty. My cordon bleu was some kind of "convenience food" product. The size was very manageable, not to say tiny. THE PRICE WAS HIGH FOR THAT, SO IT BALANCES OUT FOR THE LANDLORDS, BUT NOT FOR THE GUESTS. WE HAVE NOW DECIDED TO BRING OUR FOOD AND DRINKS NEXT TIME AND ENJOY THE GREAT VIEW OUTSIDE OF THE KONRAD 2! IT'S A PITY THAT YOU SHOT YOURSELF IN THE OUTSIDE WITH THE OPPORTUNITY OF THE 1000TH ANNIVERSARY AND THE INCREASED SALES! THE FIRST REVIEW WAS 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The "Konrad 2" is a real insider tip. The monastery, located high above the town of Bad Dürkheim, offers a fantastic view of Mannheim and the Odenwald, and clearly shows how wide the Rhine Graben really is. But that happened a long, long time ago. Limburg Abbey, on the other hand, is quite young, having just celebrated its 1,000th anniversary. The monastery tavern "Konrad 2," who went down in history as the founder of Limburg Abbey, is worth the trip up to the top. It's easy to get there by car or e-bike, or, as I learned from my parents, it was already possible in the late 1950s, on foot, meaning by inflow. How must the beer or wine 🍷 taste then, if you could afford it? So, walking is still possible today! It was my first time at the monastery tavern. It has a classic, modern interior, and our waitress was very friendly and attentive! Thank you for the great service 🩵! The drinks arrived promptly, and the food I ordered was quick. The toasted farmhouse bread under my pulled pork was very crispy, but became noticeably softer thanks to the topping. However, you should be careful not to get breadcrumbs! I'm sticking with my 5-star 🌟 rating, though, because I enjoyed it. The pork stomach and the bratwurst were also supposedly good. The price surprised me. In Bad Dürkheim, it would have been at least €4 more expensive. So, the trip is worth it; I enjoyed the overall setting, with its stroll, relaxed seating, and the aforementioned view. The Klosterhof is a beer garden 🍺, er, vineyard 🍷, served by the same kitchen. I'll be back to indulge in the wine in a summery, monastic setting!

The service was excellent. The friendly waitress pointed out that it was her first day. You wouldn't have noticed; she was very attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding; all in all, highly recommended.

The food was delicious and the service very friendly. In my opinion, the decor could have been improved considerably.

We booked a two-hour champagne reception here for our wedding. The venue and ambiance are very nice. The quality of the food is average. The prices are high (basic requests for approximately 100 people cost approximately €2,800). Our special request for non-alcoholic champagne was not accommodated despite more than two months' notice. Despite repeated requests for payment by bank transfer, we were forced to pay on-site on our wedding day. They initially overcharged for staff until we pointed this out. The owner treated us with unfriendliness and, at times, rudeness. I think it's a shame that you can't have a relaxed wedding at such a beautiful venue.

We were rudely spoken to because we had brought a bottle with us. We had already fetched drinks at the bar, and I had previously explained to a Chinese-speaking person why we weren't allowed to bring our own drinks. When a waitress walked across the courtyard and saw this, she still reacted with a rather rude address. We would have actually eaten something, but under the circumstances, no more.

What a sensational beer garden! You can make yourself comfortable right in the middle of the monastery ruins. The price is still reasonable, the service was good. The food was delicious, and as I said, the location is fantastic.

The ambiance is dreamy - but the service is lacking? We had made a reservation and were looking forward to a lovely evening, but instead the waiter didn't really acknowledge us. They didn't explain that we had to order up front and wouldn't be served at our table. They didn't offer a daily special, which was shown online. We left, and it wasn't because it was closed (as the waiter had suggested), but rather because of a lack of understanding of what gastronomy and service mean. The venue probably doesn't need it anymore... what a shame! We would have loved to celebrate our wedding anniversary here.

Highly recommended! We hiked up and then had dinner there. It was delicious, with friendly staff and good service. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great enough for us to sit outside among the old walls.

Normally, they deserve zero stars. I've rarely experienced such inflexibility. I wanted a latte macchiato and wasn't given it, saying it would take too long and that they had other customers to serve. There were two people in the restaurant. When I asked for a tray so I could carry the drinks outside, I was told they didn't have one. That doesn't win customers; in fact, I won't be visiting this place again. I can understand why my friend didn't celebrate her birthday there. The last place and the prices were also completely exorbitant.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. The garden is now self-service only. Sometimes you'll find yourself waiting in line for food with 30 people. It's not nice when you want to spend a pleasant evening and spend half the evening waiting in line. The food looks very nice, but tastes rather bland. After several visits, unfortunately, all that remains of the once beautiful restaurant is the ambiance. This was our last visit.

We love this place. The ruins are beautiful and the beer garden is very special.

Der angeforderte Salat war geschmacklich in Ordnung.Dazu konnte man noch z.b.Fallafel wählen mit Joghurt -Rati.(19 Euro) Leider fehlte dieser , als ich nachgefragt habe wurde mir erklärt den würde es gar nicht mehr geben.Soso komisch würde das Gericht definitiv abrunden.Die armes Servicekraft konnte nichts dafür, aber es muß ja einen Küchen Chef geben der das sagen hat. Ich habe mir das Rezept für Joghurt Rati mal ausgedruckt und werde es einfach selbst machen.

We stopped here spontaneously while hiking and were very pleasantly surprised. Konrad 2 impressed us with its very successful mix of tradition and modernity. This is reflected in both the ambiance and the menu. You'll find Palatinate classics with a modern twist, as well as contemporary dishes like burgers. The vegetarian selection is extensive, and there's something for everyone. Our dog was also welcome. The service is attentive and very friendly. We'll be happy to come back!

Super nice place, great atmosphere. The food and staff were terrible. We ordered food and then heard the first complaint from the next table. The waitress was so rude to the people. Grandma's meatballs were pressed, ready-made meatballs with gristle inside :-(, just like the bratwurst. The cordon bleu was tasteless, and the fries 🍟 were half-raw. Never again

In summer, when the weather's good, this beer garden offers a wonderful setting between the old monastery walls. The food is good (comes from the restaurant kitchen), but it often takes a while to arrive. Drinks are available at the kiosk. Reservations aren't available outside, but there was plenty of space for us (on a Friday evening).

Disappointing Experience at Konrad 2 Our visit to the Konrad 2 restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. As people with garlic allergies, we found it difficult to find anything suitable, as almost everything was pre-prepared – even potatoes and quark contained garlic, and even vinegar and oil for salad were unavailable. Furthermore, two sparkling wines we ordered had a distinctly off flavor. When we complained, we were offered a replacement, but it had the same defect. A further complaint was rudely dismissed. Due to the lack of flexibility regarding allergies and the poor service, we unfortunately cannot recommend Konrad 2.

Very good food. Large portions. Outside, you have to order at the counter and bring your own drinks and cutlery, and pay immediately. But the food is brought to your table. The surrounding area is very nice for walking, with a great view.

We enjoy coming here. Both the brunch in the atmospheric vaulted cellar and the restaurant have a lovely ambiance. The beer garden is cozy, and it's a great place to sit against the backdrop. The view is another highlight. The menu isn't extensive, and there's something for every taste, whether it's a half-pack (very original) or a salad (with goat cheese, for example, my favorite), everything tastes very good and the price-performance ratio is good. Plenty of parking is available, which I always find important. Rounded off by friendly and attentive service; one of my favorite restaurants.

Digitale Vorabreservierung machte den Besuch zu 7. sehr entspannt. Reichlich Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Hier geht niemand wieder hungrig oder durstig raus 😎 Nettes und freundliches Personal. Von Bestellung bis zur Lieferung vergingen wenige Minuten. Essen hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Frische und ausgiebige Auswahl. Sehr zu empfehlen. Preise sind zudem in Ordnung. Die Portionen sind groß. Es gibt auch einen Aussenbereich, der an warmen Tagen einen fantastischen Flare bietet. Abgesehen vom Restaurant ist ein Spaziergang um die Klosterruine zu empfehlen.

We had lunch in the monastery ruins. The location, especially the outdoor area, is beautiful. The food was solid but not a culinary highlight. Ordering concept takes a bit of getting used to and not appropriate for the price. It was strange that we had to walk from the outside area into the restaurant ourselves for a little extra request. Overall we didn't feel welcome.

The young blonde waitress was a prime example of arrogance and rudeness. When we asked in a friendly manner, the only reply was, in a cutting tone: “You can no longer sit outside, and if you do, you can only sit in the middle of the aisle inside – everything else is reserved.” Half the restaurant was empty. No smile, no willingness to find a solution, just pure arrogance. This is no way to treat guests. We left immediately - and definitely won't be coming back.

We went to brunch today. The atmosphere in the vaulted cellar is great. That was it. Food was only available to a limited extent. It felt like it took an hour for the various dishes to be refilled. We knew this before, but the fact that brunch doesn't even include coffee or orange juice shows the intention behind this event. When leaving the location there was neither a friendly “thank you” nor a “goodbye”.

I'm actually not a fan of reviews, but I have to say something here: The brunch at Konrad 2 was really great! Welcome sparkling wine (or orange juice), super tasty and fresh food, plenty of choice – and all for just €29! The atmosphere in the old vaulted cellar is really special, the service was attentive and friendly. we'll definitely be back!

We were there for brunch with 6 people, empty plates stood on the table for a long time, service staff didn't respond to hand signals, at 12.30 p.m. the main course was all empty and it wasn't refilled. We were there for the first and last time.

We were there for brunch. The brunch took place in a vaulted cellar and was warmed with a radiant heater. Still, it was cool, especially on my legs. There was nothing special when it came to choosing the food. I don't necessarily have to go there again because of the Palatinate dish, spicy meat and pasta. A soup was also offered. There was also a small selection of cheese, sausage and salads. But here too, just the usual. There was nothing exceptional for dessert either. The drinks have a normal price level. The service was present and polite. I imagine brunch to be a little different. When I go out for brunch, I also want to eat something that isn't necessarily available at home.

A really great restaurant with special food and beautiful decor. The service was super nice. Not cheap in terms of price, but a really good deal.

After hiking we stopped here and were warmly welcomed at 5:30 p.m. without a reservation. Previously we were turned away from 3 other restaurants (Forsthaus Benjental, Altes Forsthaus Looganlage and Gaststätte im Tal, Gimmeldingen) because the kitchen there was closed at 4 p.m.!!! Here in the Klosterschänke Limburg the food tasted excellent and we liked the ambience. We would love to come here again in the summer when you can sit outside.

A note about self-service in the beer garden would be helpful. The ambience is nice and the food is tasty, although not exactly cheap. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

After a long hike through the forest, we stopped here to look at the ruins of the abbey and stumbled across the little restaurant. Most excellent! We felt immediate hunger. So, in we dug. Coffees were excellent while we waited for the food to arrive. The soups were delicious. I had the beef broth with a sliced liver dumpling (Leberknodel); others (without the refined palate required for liver), had the potato soup. We then tucked into the spatzle with cheese and onions. We were well looked after by the staff and, re-invigorated, set forth once again into the woods.

Went to brunch today, in my opinion there weren't enough service staff and the lady who was apparently in charge wasn't really that friendly at the reception. Food wasn't the best choice for my taste either but that's a matter of perspective.

We ate here for the first time today and we were very satisfied. Friendly service, good wines and very good food. Portions to fill you up, especially important as part of our hike. Very high quality furnishings, toilets very clean.

We spent a very nice evening at the monastery magic. Thanks to the lovingly decorated location and Michael, who took care of our physical well-being, it was a perfect evening. We also took part in the Sunday brunch in the monastery vault. Great service, very tasty food, great ambience. You have to do it!

We ate there at the restaurant on Boxing Day with my husband's family. You have to make a reservation through Eventim and a menu (three courses) costs 49 euros. The starter was a soup - it was almost cold and with a skin that had already formed, the chestnut soup had probably been sitting around for a while, which was a real shame, in terms of taste it was still the best of the "menu". Then the main course, not exactly the largest portion, but I was happy because it was by far the driest Burgundy roast of my life, unfortunately the taste was also a flop. The dessert was also nothing...unfortunately. The ambience and service were really good, but a shame the food was nothing. Above all, far too expensive at 49 euros per person without drinks! Maybe the food is better if you don't come on a holiday and can eat à la carte.

Afterwards we went for a short walk around the monastery when the weather was nice Afterwards we sat by the fire bowl in the monastery garden with mulled wine and children's punch. The monastery garden is beautifully decorated and has many different seating areas. We had a lovely Christmas there with the whole family.

Today we spent a wonderful Christmas Day at the monastery brunch in the vaulted cellar. The food was great. The bread and rolls are super fresh despite the Christmas holiday. The service was quick, friendly and in a good mood. Thanks to the heater, the temperature was absolutely pleasant. The ambience was great and we were even able to enjoy a delicious mulled wine in the castle's courtyard after a short walk. I find the price-performance ratio to be absolutely fair. Thank you for the great food in such a great environment.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday at the Limburg Konrad 2 restaurant and were completely thrilled! The service was first class - attentive, warm and with a touch of humor that made the evening even better. The food was an absolute highlight: fresh, lovingly prepared and simply delicious. A clear recommendation for anyone who values ​​quality and atmosphere!

If you like the charm of castle ruins, the Klosterschenke is the right place!! The food was good to very good, the service was very friendly and our four-legged companions were given a water bowl.

Chilli con carne very tasty. Potato/leek soup ok. Spritzer €5.80? It doesn't work at all! Terrible smell in the toilet.

Wir waren in der Vergangenheit schon mehrmals in dem Restaurant - als Paar oder mit Freunden zu Silvester oder Geburtstagsfeiern - bisher immer mit durchschnittlichen Erfahrungen. Die Location Limburg ist toll - aber dafür kann der Pächter nicht - daher haben wir über einige Punkte ( Preise, Selbstbedienung im Aussenbereich etc.) hinweggesehen. Leider kam es diesmal so, dass wir und unsere Begleiter dort nicht mehr hingehen werden. Die Überheblichkeit mit welcher der Geschäftsführer eine „No-Show-Fee“ in Rechnung stellt ist nicht zu übertreffen. Wir hatten für 13 Personen reserviert, 2 konnten nicht teilnehmen, dafür mussten wir dann je Person EUR 25,— Ausfallgebühr bezahlen, weil so der Inhaber „ihm ein erheblicher Umsatzverlust entstanden sei“. Unglaublich, zumal die Bestuhlung so eng war, dass keine Personen mehr an den Tisch gepasst hätten und bei unserer Ankunft schon registriert wurde, dass wir 11 statt der reserviert 13 Personen sind, aber nicht auf die Ausfallgebühr hingewiesen wurde - erst beim Bezahlen wurde die Gebühr verlangt. Dann verzehren 11 Personen für durchschnittlich EUR 60,- und er verlangt eine Ausfallgebühr! Die Folge: kein Umsatz mehr von diesen 13 Personen nebst den Freunden die man mitgenommen hätte. Wo ist da jetzt der Sinn einer Ausfallgebühr und das Fingerspitzengefühl….

The tenant can't do anything about the great location on the Limburg - it was there long before him and will be there long after him. For the arrogance and arrogance of 11 adults being entertained, he can charge a cancellation fee of EUR 25 per person for 2 missing people, but he can do something. There was a lack of tact here, especially since the seating was so narrow that no other person could have fit at the table. We certainly understand that a cancellation fee may be charged in order to protect the restaurateur from loss of sales. In our case, the innkeeper “secured” EUR 50 in sales and lost further sales from 11 guests who were there regularly in groups. Find the error!

Today was the first and last time we were up here for the Advent brunch. As I said: I only rate the brunch. I didn't like it. You book through Eventtime. 75 euros for three without drinks, so around 120 euros for three. It's not worth it. It's incredibly loud down there because of the vault. It is still fresh despite long underwear and warm clothing. Then they wanted to seat us at a table with strangers. But that wasn't on the internet before. There were a lot of children and about 10 dogs there. It is very uncomfortable and loud. Because these annoying children kept coming to our table, our daughter and our dog felt provoked and it was just barking. We've never experienced this before and we go out to eat often. Yes, the food was ok for the price, nothing special. After we didn't want to sit at a table with people, we were seated next to a humming fan heater, which was then turned off after a complaint. The waitress said: Do you have it now? Hello ? There was nothing on the Internet about strangers at the table, otherwise we wouldn't have booked in the first place...Daughter orders cocoa, gets milk...all in all: save yourself the brunch...magic monastery, beer garden, restaurant, everything was great. We even got married up here 14 years ago. But the brunch? That was a waste of money and time. Parking: first come, first served...

We were very lucky to be able to celebrate our wedding at Konrad 2 and on the Limburg grounds. Apart from the weather, the day was really perfect. The rooms were prepared as discussed, the food was great and the service was quick and super friendly. The communication and meetings in advance were also very pleasant and constructive. Thank you also for the flexibility regarding the rooms in relation to the weather (we had to reschedule and “move” again at short notice due to a drop in temperature). We can only warmly recommend you and it certainly won't be the last time we'll be your guests.

We were there a few days ago and were initially totally impressed by the location. The restaurant definitely seemed fair to its surroundings. I'll now go into the classic pros and cons points that speak purely to our opinion :) Per: - Super nice staff - Location very nice - Food beautifully prepared - sufficient portions - There is actually a second helping which we found to be very good - the toilets were very clean - great marketing and promotions done by the operators Cons: - higher middle price range (which I think is partly due to the location) - The greeting when we arrived was rather dull and didn't seem inviting at first - The waitress ever mixed up and forgot an order once and when ordering again brought the larger bottle than the smaller bottle of water ordered (was also charged) - Unfortunately there were a lot of fruit flies everywhere in the room which made it difficult to eat in peace. - (personal impression) the taste was ok/good but not a taste highlight either. I have to say that this will be my favorite restaurant. - Unfortunately it was very quiet in the room where a bit of background music would have rounded the whole thing off a little better. All in all it was a very nice evening and therefore the constructively kind 4 stars :)

Rarely have I had such a good experience. From the ambience, the food to the service team, everything was great. Deodorant, hand cream, mouthwash with disposable cups, hand disinfectant and tampons were also freely available in the women's toilets. Deodorant and hair gel were also available in the men's toilet. Definitely recommended.
