Konrad 2? What's that? A fancy-schmancy restaurant that doesn't even measure up to a Palatinate Forest cabin... The only thing that's really impressive is the exorbitant price level. €5.90 for a Riesling spritzer is outrageous. And the prices for pre-made meals are ridiculous... In short: The ambiance is great, but if you want a good meal, go somewhere else. K2? To me, it's a mountain in the Himalayas! Nothing else...

A lovely event venue (vaulted cellar) with a pleasant atmosphere. However, it echoes and gets loud when many people are talking at once. The food was good and the service was nice and friendly.

The food was good, although some of the burgers were a bit too salty. Some of the vegetarian dishes were very tasty. The ambiance was generally good, but it was uncomfortably cold. After this was pointed out, the heating was checked, but it warmed up very slowly.

Our first time at the Limburg monastery brunch with friends, we booked a table online in the ruins and were absolutely delighted. The food was exquisite – everything beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. The service staff was very friendly and well-organized. If you're looking to unwind, this is the perfect place!

We came here on a whim – and it was well worth it! The atmosphere is very pleasant and beautiful, and the service was exceptionally friendly. They even accommodated our special dietary requests (vegetarian). The food and the delicious dessert were truly excellent. We'll definitely be back.

An exceptionally beautiful vaulted cellar. The high ceiling provides excellent acoustics. A variety of lighting options with many effects. Overall, a very pleasant ambiance. The food and service were also top-notch. We held a private party here, with a three-course meal, a midnight snack, and unlimited drinks. That's how the price is calculated (including room rental). The guests were all delighted.

We had a wonderful stay. The entire complex is beautifully designed, and interested visitors are given an impressive insight into the history of the monastery ruins. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented, whether it's a burger, salad, or Palatinate dish. Individual requests are also wonderfully accommodated. We wish Konrad II all the best and are already looking forward to our next visit!

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch after a stroll. The food was good and the atmosphere pleasant. However, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, even though the place was fairly empty.

We wanted to celebrate a 50th birthday here and politely asked if it would be possible to bring our own birthday cake. However, this was immediately declined on the phone, with the explanation that, for our small group, there were "nice things on the menu." What nice things were on the menu? Kaiserschmarrn for €13 and vanilla ice cream for €6. We planned to eat some of the main courses and drinks from the menu, but of course, we didn't want to miss out on the cake. It's a shame that they show no leniency for such a special occasion. This is exactly what you would expect for an anniversary. By comparison, three other restaurants (a Chinese, a Greek, and an Italian) had no problem with this at all; hospitality is apparently still very important there. But you can also see this in politics and society these days. Your greed for more or inflexibility has now brought you zero revenue.

We were there on a Sunday as a hiking group, and the waitress couldn't serve us for 20 minutes. Even that wasn't perfect. First, one group was served, then the waitress changed tables, and then came back to us. The food wasn't worth the price. The Grandma Konrad's meatballs I had were ready-made and cost 14.90! The worst part, however, was that the Coke was served in non-calibrated IKEA glasses. A case for the trade inspectorate.

We just wanted a coffee; it was a lovely location and had a small menu. Incidentally, a monastery brunch is offered every Sunday from October to April.

A very beautiful ruin with plenty of hiking opportunities and a beautiful view. I can't say anything about the food; I was there for coffee and cake. Today, there was only a cake and a brownie to choose from. The cake was excellent, and the service was very friendly.

We were in the area yesterday (a Saturday evening) on ​​a whim, called, and got a table. The service was excellent: super friendly, attentive, courteous, and quick. POSTSCRIPT: Now we've been back to Konrad 2 with a different picture, so I've lowered my star rating! The waitress in the restaurant was bored and told us she didn't make mixed drinks. Since we wanted a shandy and a wine spritzer, we were very surprised. Only after asking for samples were we able to order them. We also wanted food, but only after asking did we (two people) receive a menu, even though there were no guests in the dining room and she had nothing else to do. We sat down at a table so we wouldn't have to choose our food while standing, like we would in a snack bar. She didn't understand. We ordered the food and drinks and were handed the drinks with the words that she would bring the food out. Unfortunately, the food wasn't like, "See below!" The sausage had a skin that was difficult to cut with a knife, but the fried meat was tasty. My cordon bleu was some kind of "convenience food" product. The size was very manageable, not to say tiny. THE PRICE WAS HIGH FOR THAT, SO IT BALANCES OUT FOR THE LANDLORDS, BUT NOT FOR THE GUESTS. WE HAVE NOW DECIDED TO BRING OUR FOOD AND DRINKS NEXT TIME AND ENJOY THE GREAT VIEW OUTSIDE OF THE KONRAD 2! The monastery, located high above the town of Bad Dürkheim, offers a fantastic view of Mannheim and the Odenwald, and clearly shows how wide the Rhine Graben really is. But that happened a long, long time ago. Limburg Abbey, on the other hand, is quite young, having just celebrated its 1,000th anniversary. The monastery tavern "Konrad 2," who went down in history as the founder of Limburg Abbey, is worth the trip up to the top. It's easy to get there by car or e-bike, or, as I learned from my parents, it was already possible in the late 1950s, on foot, meaning by inflow. How must the beer or wine 🍷 taste then, if you could afford it? So, walking is still possible today! It was my first time at the monastery tavern. It has a classic, modern interior, and our waitress was very friendly and attentive! Thank you for the great service 🩵! The drinks arrived promptly, and the food I ordered was quick. The toasted farmhouse bread under my pulled pork was very crispy, but became noticeably softer thanks to the topping. However, you should be careful not to get breadcrumbs! I'm sticking with my 5-star 🌟 rating, though, because I enjoyed it. The pork stomach and the bratwurst were also supposedly good. The price surprised me. In Bad Dürkheim, it would have been at least €4 more expensive. So, the trip is worth it; I enjoyed the overall setting, with its stroll, relaxed seating, and the aforementioned view. The Klosterhof is a beer garden 🍺, er, vineyard 🍷, served by the same kitchen. I'll be back to indulge in the wine in a summery, monastic setting!

The service was excellent. The friendly waitress pointed out that it was her first day. You wouldn't have noticed; she was very attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding; all in all, highly recommended.

We booked a two-hour champagne reception here for our wedding. The venue and ambiance are very nice. The quality of the food is average. The prices are high (basic requests for approximately 100 people cost approximately €2,800). Our special request for non-alcoholic champagne was not accommodated despite more than two months' notice. Despite repeated requests for payment by bank transfer, we were forced to pay on-site on our wedding day. They initially overcharged for staff until we pointed this out. The owner treated us with unfriendliness and, at times, rudeness. I think it's a shame that you can't have a relaxed wedding at such a beautiful venue.

We were rudely spoken to because we had brought a bottle with us. We had already fetched drinks at the bar, and I had previously explained to a Chinese-speaking person why we weren't allowed to bring our own drinks. When a waitress walked across the courtyard and saw this, she still reacted with a rather rude address. We would have actually eaten something, but under the circumstances, no more.

What a sensational beer garden! You can make yourself comfortable right in the middle of the monastery ruins. The price is still reasonable, the service was good. The food was delicious, and as I said, the location is fantastic.

The ambiance is dreamy - but the service is lacking? We had made a reservation and were looking forward to a lovely evening, but instead the waiter didn't really acknowledge us. They didn't explain that we had to order up front and wouldn't be served at our table. They didn't offer a daily special, which was shown online. We left, and it wasn't because it was closed (as the waiter had suggested), but rather because of a lack of understanding of what gastronomy and service mean. The venue probably doesn't need it anymore... what a shame! We would have loved to celebrate our wedding anniversary here.

Normally, they deserve zero stars. I've rarely experienced such inflexibility. I wanted a latte macchiato and wasn't given it, saying it would take too long and that they had other customers to serve. There were two people in the restaurant. When I asked for a tray so I could carry the drinks outside, I was told they didn't have one. That doesn't win customers; in fact, I won't be visiting this place again. I can understand why my friend didn't celebrate her birthday there. The last place and the prices were also completely exorbitant.

Highly recommended! We hiked up and then had dinner there. It was delicious, with friendly staff and good service. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great enough for us to sit outside among the old walls.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. The garden is now self-service only. Sometimes you'll find yourself waiting in line for food with 30 people. It's not nice when you want to spend a pleasant evening and spend half the evening waiting in line. The food looks very nice, but tastes rather bland. After several visits, unfortunately, all that remains of the once beautiful restaurant is the ambiance. This was our last visit.

Der angeforderte Salat war geschmacklich in Ordnung.Dazu konnte man noch z.b.Fallafel wählen mit Joghurt -Rati.(19 Euro) Leider fehlte dieser , als ich nachgefragt habe wurde mir erklärt den würde es gar nicht mehr geben.Soso komisch würde das Gericht definitiv abrunden.Die armes Servicekraft konnte nichts dafür, aber es muß ja einen Küchen Chef geben der das sagen hat. Ich habe mir das Rezept für Joghurt Rati mal ausgedruckt und werde es einfach selbst machen.

We stopped here spontaneously while hiking and were very pleasantly surprised. Konrad 2 impressed us with its very successful mix of tradition and modernity. This is reflected in both the ambiance and the menu. You'll find Palatinate classics with a modern twist, as well as contemporary dishes like burgers. The vegetarian selection is extensive, and there's something for everyone. Our dog was also welcome. The service is attentive and very friendly. We'll be happy to come back!

Super nice place, great atmosphere. The food and staff were terrible. We ordered food and then heard the first complaint from the next table. The waitress was so rude to the people. Grandma's meatballs were pressed, ready-made meatballs with gristle inside :-(, just like the bratwurst. The cordon bleu was tasteless, and the fries 🍟 were half-raw. Never again

In summer, when the weather's good, this beer garden offers a wonderful setting between the old monastery walls. The food is good (comes from the restaurant kitchen), but it often takes a while to arrive. Drinks are available at the kiosk. Reservations aren't available outside, but there was plenty of space for us (on a Friday evening).

Disappointing Experience at Konrad 2 Our visit to the Konrad 2 restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. As people with garlic allergies, we found it difficult to find anything suitable, as almost everything was pre-prepared – even potatoes and quark contained garlic, and even vinegar and oil for salad were unavailable. Furthermore, two sparkling wines we ordered had a distinctly off flavor. When we complained, we were offered a replacement, but it had the same defect. A further complaint was rudely dismissed. Due to the lack of flexibility regarding allergies and the poor service, we unfortunately cannot recommend Konrad 2.

Very good food. Large portions. Outside, you have to order at the counter and bring your own drinks and cutlery, and pay immediately. But the food is brought to your table. The surrounding area is very nice for walking, with a great view.

We enjoy coming here. Both the brunch in the atmospheric vaulted cellar and the restaurant have a lovely ambiance. The beer garden is cozy, and it's a great place to sit against the backdrop. The view is another highlight. The menu isn't extensive, and there's something for every taste, whether it's a half-pack (very original) or a salad (with goat cheese, for example, my favorite), everything tastes very good and the price-performance ratio is good. Plenty of parking is available, which I always find important. Rounded off by friendly and attentive service; one of my favorite restaurants.

Digitale Vorabreservierung machte den Besuch zu 7. sehr entspannt. Reichlich Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Hier geht niemand wieder hungrig oder durstig raus 😎 Nettes und freundliches Personal. Von Bestellung bis zur Lieferung vergingen wenige Minuten. Essen hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Frische und ausgiebige Auswahl. Sehr zu empfehlen. Preise sind zudem in Ordnung. Die Portionen sind groß. Es gibt auch einen Aussenbereich, der an warmen Tagen einen fantastischen Flare bietet. Abgesehen vom Restaurant ist ein Spaziergang um die Klosterruine zu empfehlen.

We had lunch in the monastery ruins. The location, especially the outdoor area, is beautiful. The food was solid but not a culinary highlight. Ordering concept takes a bit of getting used to and not appropriate for the price. It was strange that we had to walk from the outside area into the restaurant ourselves for a little extra request. Overall we didn't feel welcome.

We went to brunch today. The atmosphere in the vaulted cellar is great. That was it. Food was only available to a limited extent. It felt like it took an hour for the various dishes to be refilled. We knew this before, but the fact that brunch doesn't even include coffee or orange juice shows the intention behind this event. When leaving the location there was neither a friendly “thank you” nor a “goodbye”.

Welcome sparkling wine (or orange juice), super tasty and fresh food, plenty of choice – and all for just €29! The young blonde waitress was a prime example of arrogance and rudeness. When we asked in a friendly manner, the only reply was, in a cutting tone: “You can no longer sit outside, and if you do, you can only sit in the middle of the aisle inside – everything else is reserved.” Half the restaurant was empty. No smile, no willingness to find a solution, just pure arrogance. This is no way to treat guests. We left immediately - and definitely won't be coming back.

We were there for brunch with 6 people, empty plates stood on the table for a long time, service staff didn't respond to hand signals, at 12.30 p.m. the main course was all empty and it wasn't refilled. We were there for the first and last time.

We were there for brunch. The brunch took place in a vaulted cellar and was warmed with a radiant heater. Still, it was cool, especially on my legs. There was nothing special when it came to choosing the food. I don't necessarily have to go there again because of the Palatinate dish, spicy meat and pasta. A soup was also offered. There was also a small selection of cheese, sausage and salads. But here too, just the usual. There was nothing exceptional for dessert either. The drinks have a normal price level. The service was present and polite. I imagine brunch to be a little different. When I go out for brunch, I also want to eat something that isn't necessarily available at home.
