We were a group of eight people who went to LewensLust for dinner and had a wonderful evening! We were seated in a private room that we had entirely to ourselves. The waiters, especially Anne and Tilmann, were very attentive and friendly, and they expertly guided us through the evening. They even coordinated small details, such as whether the music volume was comfortable for us or whether the children's meals should be served with the appetizers. The food was also delicious. The selection of appetizers was varied, the steaks in the main course were all cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were also very well prepared. We can definitely recommend this restaurant!

Incredibly delicious dishes, a waiter who knows the menu very well and the service is top notch

Unfortunately, a picture of a table for two sometimes says more than a thousand words. Our narrow table eventually became cluttered with unused water glasses, glasses, and bottles from two rounds of drinks. The cobwebs on the lamps on the windowsill had already collected quite a bit of dust. But the most important thing is that the food was excellent. The ceviche was outstanding, the cheese in the good burger was hopefully halloumi, because otherwise its leathery texture would have given me pause, and the affogato to finish was very good. Given the ambiance and the prices, I was glad I hadn't ordered a steak with sides, and we won't be doing so again. P.S.: The tables with wine pairings were tidier, and the service staff were generally very attentive and helpful. I might recommend ordering wine, as things seem to run more smoothly that way. They have very lovely staff, and sometimes things like this just happen.

For me, this is the best restaurant in Hildesheim: haute cuisine to perfection, excellent steaks – especially the US beef – with fantastic side dishes. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, ideal for celebrations such as weddings or other events. Scheduling reservations, even for larger groups, is seamless. The team is exceptionally friendly and attentive. My favorite starter: the beef tartare. Highly recommended.

Wow! We celebrated our wedding at LewensLust and highly recommend the venue! We were particularly impressed by the following: - Beautiful, secluded location in the forest with ample parking and nearby hotels and hostels - Super friendly and very attentive staff - High-quality food that's not only beautifully presented but also satisfying for every guest - Good drinks with the option of a reasonably priced drinks package - Overall, very transparent and fair value for money. The food and service in the restaurant are always a delight, making it a truly fantastic venue for celebrations of any kind!

It's mouth-watering and I don't regret a cent. First of all: I think you should definitely reserve a table or check availability by phone beforehand. We had three courses, and each one surpassed the last. The service was very friendly and attentive. The wine recommendation was perfect, and the meat (2 rump steaks, 2 fillet steaks served at the table) was cooked to perfection. The balsamic shallots were fantastic as a side dish. For those with a sweet tooth, the table recommends the foamed crème brûlée. If I were forced to criticize under threat of violence, I would say that the gratinated goat cheese could have been a bit warmer, but that would only be under duress. We were all completely satisfied. Thank you so much, we'll see you again.

Here, you can enjoy delicious food both inside and out, surrounded by the forest. The grand staircase leads you to the terrace and the entrance, where you're warmly greeted and shown to your seat. Outside, you can enjoy the sounds of the forest and inside, the modern ambiance. The restaurant is certainly known for its various steaks. Here, you can choose between Argentinian and American steaks. All three courses were delicious and beautiful to look at. I had the gratinated goat cheese, the beef fillet, and the raspberry sorbet with vodka. The service was excellent. A perfect end to our anniversary!

A truly fantastic restaurant where everything is just right! Beautifully located, a modern and cozy atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and of course (most importantly) delicious food! 😋 Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but still highly recommended for anyone who likes to treat themselves 😄

Unfortunately, the restaurant was only visually appealing. In our opinion, the prices are too high compared to similarly mid- to higher-priced restaurants. Overall, it was a disappointment.

Wow, every euro was worth it here! There's absolutely nothing to complain about. The chef is a genius; he makes you enjoy your meal, and the service takes care of the rest. There's something for everyone on the menu. My tip: "The US filet, absolute terror!" In the photos, you can see the appetizer plate, incredibly delicious 😋. I can recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. One thing's for sure: we'll be back.

Overall, the restaurant is fine, but not spectacular for the price of the food. We were two people. We ordered the tartar, and normally, the waiters have to serve and mix it, which they didn't do. Then, we ordered a rare meat dish. It was brought to us on a plate that was burning hot, so the meat was still cooked, only the center was undercooked; the rest was overcooked for our liking. However, the desserts were spectacular; I can't fault them at all because they were all delicious. The service from the waiters was also very good. And so was the atmosphere. I still have to give it three stars for the main courses; I think they need to improve.

It's a really nice restaurant in a great location. We ate there again after a year and were disappointed that the menu hadn't changed. That was our expectation for such an upscale restaurant. There was no daily special offered. The food was good, but nothing else. Considering the prices, the taste lacked refinement. The service was excellent. Attentive and very friendly.

We ordered a bit of everything to share (a concept that seemed to surprise the service). Overall, the execution of most of the dishes was good. But considering the average price of the restaurant, I'd like to ask, for example, if you could make the tartar at the table or at least ask for the spice level, mustard, etc., but you can't give it to me exactly as shown in the picture (in my opinion). On the other hand, and for me the most important thing, a restaurant with an extensive meat menu can never, under any circumstances, serve a hot dish for the meat (since once it comes off the stove, it continues to cook on the plate if it's hot). All the desserts, except for the creme brulee, come with the same base of jams, etc. Considering they average €8-10 each, there's a lot of room for improvement (there are three in total + a vodka sorbet; that sorbet also comes with the cheesecake, but without vodka). As for the taste, everything was decent, but I don't think the price/quality ratio is really worth it. If you want to eat well, you have to spend €50-60 per person. But it is true, in the Hildesheim area it is one of the best there is in terms of meat, and the cuisine is a bit elaborate.

We visited this restaurant yesterday and were absolutely thrilled! The lamb with green vegetables and the beef fillet on a bed of mixed vegetables were fantastic – the meat was perfectly cooked and grilled. A true explosion of flavor! The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive, and we felt completely at home. The ample parking is also worth mentioning – very convenient. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

A very nice restaurant that serves excellent meat. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I personally had a 500g Argentinian fillet cooked medium/rare, with rosemary potatoes and cauliflower au gratin. The meat was exactly as ordered and very tender. All in all, I highly recommend it. We visited you again. (June 5, 2025) It was excellent, as usual. The meat was perfectly cooked to the right degree. The side dishes were perfect. I do have two minor criticisms, however. The meat had two thick spots in the middle of the meat. And the beer and whiskey selection could be expanded to include a few finer wines. But all in all, another perfect visit, and we'd be happy to return anytime.

All in all, it was a good meal with room for improvement. First of all, the service was attentive and very friendly; the location in Hildesheim is a fantastic spot with a great steakhouse atmosphere. The desserts (I'll start from the back) were excellent. The carpaccio starter, as well as the asparagus soup, were also very tasty. (Unfortunately, I forgot to take any photos.) For the main course, we chose asparagus with veal schnitzel and hollandaise sauce. The asparagus was well peeled, very firm (some very thick spears), and it came with a good portion of hollandaise sauce and two large, flat schnitzels. Unfortunately, the schnitzels were pre-breaded, so the coating was no longer light or fluffy, but so firm that it could have been a store-bought schnitzel (which it certainly wasn't). Because the breadcrumbs stuck to the surface, some spots didn't catch properly in the pan. The whole thing was also lacking some seasoning (salt/pepper). The hollandaise sauce didn't come from a Tetra Pak, which was already a big plus. However, it was so thin that it lost its flavor. This made me wonder what the chef had done with it. Especially since it's a whipped butter sauce, and only a small amount of water/wine is added. Long story short, a freshly breaded veal schnitzel and an original hollandaise sauce that delivers full flavor, and the meal gets 5 stars. Since the main course, which also accounted for the highest price, is the main focus for me, I gave it three stars.

The Lewenslust is a very nice restaurant, but you should sit on the bench as the chairs are very uncomfortable for tall people. So... the food was good this time, although we have been disappointed several times, we only came back because of an invitation. The wine is poor. I don't eat steaks there anymore because I've had gristly ones twice, so asparagus with schnitzel. The hollandaise was tasty but too thin, otherwise okay. The prices are stable, which is why they have become a little more reasonable, but at 60 euros per person they are still high. Conclusion: There are much better places for the money, but you have to go to Hanover.

Tip: We were there during the week and the restaurant was busy. A table reservation is recommended. This also worked well for us online.

Located in the forest and easily accessible by car. The restaurant looks great from the outside. The interior is harmoniously decorated, very warm yet modern. The aperitif and the starter were already excellent, but the steaks as the main course surpassed everything - a real pleasure! Unfortunately we are ABSOLUTELY disappointed and also angry! We enjoyed the food and were very impressed right from the start...beautiful location, super accommodating staff and good menu... After a reasonable amount of time the main course was served and my “Well Done” T-Bone was an absolute disaster… The meat had absolutely no taste, no spices and was so dried out that it was inedible. After I pointed this out to a waiter, I was told that it was “normal” when you order well done that the steak was so dry. I always eat T-bone steaks and have never eaten such a weak/dry piece of meat.. Anything can happen, but what makes us absolutely mad is that we were charged for it in full even though we gave back more than 3/4 of the meat... I would have liked a clarifying conversation or at least an accommodation on the bill... We are really mercilessly disappointed and will never come back!!!

Were on the return journey from the North Sea towards Frankfurt and stopped for dinner. We were lucky to get a table for two. The food (fillet with grilled vegetables and leaf spinach and corn-fed chicken breast) tasted perfect. The service was very attentive and friendly. Perfect for weddings. We chose the suitable location for our wedding very carefully and LewensLust completely met our expectations. From the initial contact to the implementation, we were more than satisfied with everything. The buffet was first class, the location was fantastically beautiful and the service was professional and unobtrusive. A parallel restaurant operation didn't bother us at all. Because the rooms for celebrations are in their own wing, the whole company is completely alone. Thanks to the entire LewensLust team for a wonderful wedding.

This is now the fourth time for me at LewensLust and now I'm writing a review. Like the last few times, we received a warm welcome and were escorted to our table. After ordering, the greeting came from the kitchen. A nice bread platter with our own herb butter and butter. It has to be said that it is not standard bread that is served. As a starter I had the burratta with a small salad. This was nice and creamy on the inside and it was a pleasure. For the main course there was the US fillet with truffle mashed potatoes, which was fried to perfection. Unfortunately there is nothing special about the truffle mashed potatoes as I didn't taste any real truffles. It was more like the truffle oil, which isn't a bad thing either. For dessert there was the foamed creme brulee, which is always unique and enjoyable. The food is perfect in all forms. The ambience and location is very nice. After a path into the Galgenberger Forest there is a beautiful country house. The ambience of LewensLust impresses with its rustic and cozy furnishings, which really helps you relax. The staff takes care of you throughout your visit, even if it sometimes takes a while for a service person to discover you, it's very good. You will be looked after until you leave again. Even in stressful situations, the team maintains high standards. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

Die Location ist idyllisch im Wald gelegen und das ehemalige Forsthaus ist sehr ansprechend renoviert und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Das Essen hat uns prinzipiell sehr überzeugt. Sowohl das Thunfisch Steak meiner Frau als auch mein Ripeye waren auf den Punkt Medium gegrillt … wie bestellt. Die extra zu ordernden Beilagen waren auch sehr gut (Gegrilltes Gemüse und Süsskartoffelscheiben). Hier zeigt sich aber ein erster Abstrich: Durch das separate Ordern erreichen die Gerichte schnell ein Preisniveau, das für meine Gefühl einen Tick zu hoch ist … bei aller Qualität … und die war wirklich gut. Das Qualität seinen Preis hat, ist schon ok, aber etwas moderater dürfte es sein. Das Desert - eine geschäumte Creme Brulée konnte uns nicht so recht überzeugen. Sehr schaumig und sehr süß .. ist aber letztendlich Geschmacksache. Pluspunkte gibts wieder für den Service … sehr freundlich und jederzeit für die Gäste da. Insgesamt war es schon ein wirklich gutes Abendessen … und wer es sich einmal gut gehen lassen will, kann hier ruhig einkehren.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary, got married there 16 years ago...had reserved a table using the reservation program and also mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary...This time the table was exactly as we had imagined, in the niches. Food, especially my T bone steak, was great It is always very expensive, especially since you pay extra for each side dish, but you should treat yourself to this pleasure once a year.

Bei den hochpreisigen Steakgerichten muss man die Beilagen selbst wählen. Wir fanden, dass die Hauptgerichte (Speisekartenseite: Main) das beste Preis-Leistungsverhältnis boten: Hervorragender Lammrücken und leckeres Rinderfilet mit Kartoffelgratin und Grillgemüse als Beilage. Die Riesengarnelen als Vorspeise und das Sorbet als Dessert waren eine gute Wahl. Den Kingklip-Fisch probierten wir lieber nicht, da er als Tiefkühlware aus Südafrika kommt. Die Weinkarte und der Service sind ausgezeichnet.

Aufgrund der guten Bewertungen sind wir hier gelandet. Das Essen war hervorragend. Die Vorspeisen waren eine Consome und Burrata, als Hauptspeisen wählten wir Spargel mit Kalbsschnitzel und Falafel, alles war hervorragend zubereitet. Als Desserts hatten wir noch geschäumte Creme Brullee und Himbeersorbet, das war schon Sterne-Niveau. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und sehr nett. Danke für den schönen Abend

After the more than negative experience on Tuesday in another restaurant in Hildesheim, we had a TOP experience in Lewenslust Hildesheim yesterday... - Super nice and attentive service. There was always someone nearby and very attentive. Orders were taken “automatically” - you don’t have to constantly draw attention to yourself… - The food was great - my tuna sashimi was excellent. There was a touch of ponzu foam and dabs of wasabi mayonnaise - perfectly balanced and just right. The thinfish was the star, as it should be (and not “drowned” in ponzu butter like on Tuesday). My wife's Caesar salad was also delicious with a light, tasty dressing. - My asparagus with fillet steak was also very good - the fillet steak was fried to medium rare, the asparagus was still a bit chewy, but better than “sloppy”. - The perfect rounding off was the crème brûlée foam with macadamia ice cream - DELICIOUS…… All in all, a more than successful evening with great service and very efficient, delicious cuisine... we'll definitely be back!!!!!

The restaurant makes an impressive impression, especially when it is lit, but due to its design it is very tube-like inside and very loud due to the narrow seating. The extremely friendly service was excellent, and the food was also great! Starters are highly recommended. Fish and meat dishes were cooked to perfection and nothing was over-seasoned. Unfortunately, the high prices do not allow normal earners to visit several times a year. But the quality seems to demand it.

Unfortunately, we had a not particularly professional experience today. We come from Hanover and wanted to buy a voucher worth €250. Unfortunately it was not possible to purchase the voucher via the website. That's why we set off for Hildesheim around 9:15 p.m. On Google the opening times were until 11 p.m. At around 9:30 p.m. we called the restaurant to ask if they could prepare the voucher yet. The lady on the phone told us in a friendly way that they had already closed the restaurant because no guests had been there for 30 minutes and therefore they couldn't issue us a voucher. When we asked that we were customers and would be there in 20 minutes, she unfortunately only said that she couldn't persuade any of her employees to wait that long. It's a shame, it would have only been 20 minutes for €250. We found it particularly unfortunate that no other solution was suggested to us, as we would have liked to give the voucher away tomorrow. Now we have to think of something else. We didn't find the behavior to be particularly customer-oriented, as would be expected for such an upscale restaurant. Unfortunately, it leaves a bad aftertaste for us.

Hier erlebt man noch Fachkräfte bei ihrer Arbeit.... Das ist Service und gelebte Gastfreundlichkeit...Das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm, die Lage mitten im Wald kaum zu toppen. Essen in vielen Variationen. Ob Fleisch, Fisch, Lamm, oder Wild oder anderes... Toller Geschmack, frisch und interessant angerichtet.. Rundum ein gelungener Aufenthalt.. Wir können das nur empfehlen... Auch jetzt wieder zu Weihnachten..Alles bestens....

Ich war gestern Abend mit meiner Frau im LEWENSLUST, um meinen 60.ten Geburtstag mit ihr zu feiern. Wir hatten nur einen Tisch reserviert, aber nicht mitgeteilt, was der Anlass war. Alles war so, als hätte ich extra darum gebeten, mir persönlich einen phantastischen Abend zu bereiten. Der Service war ausgezeichnet - wir hatten fast das Gefühl, man hätte uns eine eigene Servicekraft zugeteilt - das Essen (hier der Küche nochmal ein besonderes Lob) und die Getränke waren hervorragend. Dem ganzen Team danken wir aufs herzlichste für diesen wundervollen und unvergesslichen Abend.

Perfekt, Service ist super und das Ambiente perfekt und das Essen ist sehr gut 👍, jeder Zeit wieder.

Heute Abend waren wir (zu Dritt) im Lewenslust in Hildesheim am Galgenberg. Ich hatte vorab reserviert, was ich echt empfehlen kann, da das Restaurant wirklich sehr gut besucht war. Wir waren beeindruckt vom Ambiente, von der schönen, gehobenen Einrichtung, vom sehr zuvorkommenden, sympathischen und aufmerksamen Service und nicht zuletzt vom wirklich sehr leckerem Essen. Es war toll, wir haben die Stunden sehr genossen und können aus tiefsten Herzen, einen Besuch wirklich nur empfehlen.
