Levante Restaurant in Radolfzell am Bodensee

First of all: I completely fail to understand the good reviews for this restaurant. As non-residents, we relied on them and were bitterly disappointed. In detail: for starters, we had five falafel with tahini. The falafel were crispy and well-seasoned, the sauce was okay. However, it was carelessly arranged on a lettuce leaf and covered in sumac. Sumac should actually be the name of the restaurant: instead of using the diverse spices of Arabic cuisine, all dishes are "decorated" with tons of sumac after preparation, along with three almonds. Not tasty, not understandable. The rice also comes with a wilted leaf of flat-leaf parsley. All in all, not tasty. The chicken tahini was hot. That was the only positive thing. Otherwise, the vegetables (okra, zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms, potatoes, and carrots) were almost impossible to identify: everything was overcooked into a soft brown mush, with a few very dry pieces of chicken interspersed, and, of course, the dominant flavor was sumac! We ate the dry rice and sent back a lot of the mush. We were full, but for almost €30 I would have expected more. The mixed grill plate, at €35 the most expensive dish on the menu, showed that the person behind the grill had no clue: the chicken breast skewer, the kafta skewer, and the veal steak skewer were all just one thing: dry!!! Even the sauce, a small bowl of garlic-scented wallpaper paste, couldn't save it. And here too: sumac, sumac, sumac all over it. The homemade lemon-mint lemonade looked like dishwater, brown and full of pieces, and tasted similarly "delicious." I sent it back and ordered a Coke. They still charged for it. The garden is quite nice, but the restaurant inside, with its incense smoke, was only for lovers of that smell. The restrooms were okay, but the rest looked rather messy and improvised. Many surfaces were quite sticky, and what you could see of the kitchen through a window with a makeshift air conditioner didn't invite a closer look. We can't recommend it and won't be coming back. Too expensive, too bad: my local kebab shop can do better! A shame.

Great outdoor space under a beautiful walnut tree. Service very attentive and helpful. Although the kitchen doesn't accommodate special requests. Dishes are good, but nothing that really wows me. Furniture and restrooms are very dated, but stylish. Prices are quite high, even for Lake Constance.

A visit to this restaurant can feel like a short trip to the Orient 🥰... highly recommended. The hosts are warm and attentive. A small and very fine restaurant. Everyone who walks through the small, somewhat hidden restaurant and down the stairs into the small summer garden feels as if they are entering "a secret garden." I've been there with several of my favorite people and left each time with a smile on my face and extremely full. I can recommend the mint house lemonade, the mixed grill plate, the Fatoush salad, the pistachio ice cream, and the Arabic mocha... you can enjoy all of this without regrets despite your gluten problem. It's best to order different dishes and extra plates per person. Then the meal is even more enjoyable through shared enjoyment and sharing. I've been there several times. They really do manage gluten-free options upon request. I haven't had any reactions after any visit. That's why I'm giving it three extra ⭐️⭐️⭐️ + 🫶 If you walk past the restaurant to the right, you'll reach the garden/backyard through a small gate at ground level. However, the restrooms are not suitable for people with disabilities, as they are not accessible from the ground floor, but via a somewhat longer staircase inside the restaurant.

A must for us when we are in Radolfzell every few years.

We were looking for a restaurant that also offers vegetarian options. The diverse menu is well-structured. The freshly prepared dishes are excellent. The homemade mint lemonade isn't cheap, but it's also very good. Overall, a successful evening in the garden. Highly recommended.

Incredibly authentic and lovingly decorated restaurant. The garden is perfect for summer. In the back courtyard – quiet and shady. The service was very friendly and we were always in touch. The menu is carefully curated. The selection is excellent, and there's something for everyone. The portions of the main courses are very generous, so we only ordered appetizers. The food tastes incredibly delicious. The falafel and the flatbread with cheese were my highlights. I've never tasted the flavors and combinations like these before. Truly unique. But, as we all know, the best comes last – dessert. And let's be honest, I don't like baklava at all. But this creation blew me away. The filling, along with the pistachios and the sweet cream, is indescribable. I would have loved to take some to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

A touch of 1001 Nights on Lake Constance – the lovingly designed garden, exotic teas such as saffron tea and cardamom mocha, and authentic oriental food create an unforgettable experience.

A very nice restaurant with great food in a side street. We arrived quite early, so we didn't have to make a reservation. However, I would generally recommend one; when we left, all the tables were taken. The food was really good and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, it was a bit expensive, and we were also charged for a second helping of bread, which I don't think is fair, especially considering that bread is included with almost every dish. Otherwise, a great dinner.

Das Levante Restaurant ist unser Lieblingsrestaurant. Wir reisen von Karlsruhe an und ein Besuch lohnt sich jedes Mal. Es stimmt einfach alles: tolle Speisen und eine sehr herzliche Atmosphäre. Gestern durften haben wir das Ramadan Buffet erlebt und es hat alles unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Wir kommen sehr, sehr gerne wieder!

We visited the Levante for the first time yesterday and were impressed by the oriental interior design. It's not big but it's very hearty and cozy. When it came to the food, we weren't disappointed in any way either. On the contrary, although the kitchen was no stranger to us, it was not possible for us to find a place. A restaurant where you can get better hummus, falaffel or baklava. In short, we were thrilled and can only recommend the Levante :)

Went there for Valentine’s Day and the restaurant was decorated nicely. We were lucky, as we did not have a reservation and were able to get a table for an hour. Special offer for the day - menue was very good. Lovely variety - only the soup up front and dessert afterwards - all the appetizers and the main in one round - typical for far east. No alcohol served - but 0% available and a lovely variety of fresh tea. Was here for a visit - but would come back any time.

We came across this restaurant by chance when we were visiting Lake Constance. Fortunately! We have never eaten such good and authentic Arabic cuisine! Everything was delicious without exception! The drinks were equally exceptional and delicious. We had the 4-course menu and were able to try some of all the delicacies. The mocha at the end was also fantastic. The atmosphere there is also absolutely authentic and you really have the feeling of being in another country for a few hours. We will definitely come back and are happy to take a 2 hour drive to do it! :)

Very good food but also expensive. I know many good and comparable restaurants that are priced lower. The atmosphere is really cozy and lovingly furnished. The female service worker seemed annoyed and dismissive to me, the male service worker (boss?) was friendly and courteous.

So we saved 3 bags with too good to go. The value of the goods per bag was given as 21 euros. We got rice with beans and salad 3 times! So that's a bad joke and we won't save anything there or eat there anymore!

Full marks! I was there in September as a solo traveler and felt really comfortable. The mixed starter platter was very tasty, as was the mocha (never drunk so well). Visited again last week on a short trip with a friend - everything was uncomplicated and delicious again, we were able to share all the dishes between us. Also the freshly made, sensational baklava that I wouldn't have been able to manage on my own. Tip: You can take the teas served home with you. So Rose went straight along. An evening full of culinary delights. Four of us were there and enjoyed the menu. A huge selection of fresh food in abundance. Everything freshly prepared and extremely tasty. Almost every starter on the menu is followed by a grilled plate with rice and meat. If necessary, you can order something else which is included in the menu price. However, this is not necessary as the portions are very large. Very nice conditions that always ask about satisfaction. The meal is rounded off with delicious homemade lemonades and iced tea. We would be happy to come back

We went to go restaurant with my husband and my son and we love all meals and ambiance.
