LEUCHTENDROTER in Frankfurt am Main

We were there about 10 days ago Thursday and had a table for three at 7:30 p.m. The service at the table was extremely friendly! Many thanks again to the gentleman who accompanied us throughout the evening. The wine list was excellent, and the selection of non-alcoholic drinks was also great. The food was delicious, but not consistently creative. The focus was on the taste of the ingredients used; everything was well-rounded, but nothing overpowering or memorable. Unfortunately, the portions are small, even considering the many courses. The meal therefore gets 4 out of 5 stars. We have to deduct another star because we received the last course at around 11:30 p.m., and we waited almost half an hour for the first course. A total of just under four hours for dinner is simply too long. Because it dragged on so much, we unfortunately didn't really get full, despite extra bread with the first course and a small additional dessert.

We had a very nice evening, with great food and wonderful service

We were at Leuchtenroter for a special occasion and opted for the Take It All, a 10-course menu. At €80 per person, it's certainly not cheap for a regular visit. However, you can see a well-coordinated and constructive philosophy behind each course. The product selection and flavor were first-class, and you'll definitely feel full. The selection of drinks, including wine, is very good, but not cheap. The menu, however, leaves nothing to be desired. The service was very good and friendly. All courses were explained, creating a sense of anticipation. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. The ambiance, service, the menu, and the beautiful music rounded off the pleasant overall impression.

The food was excellent. Unfortunately, the waiter forgot the wine we ordered, so it didn't arrive until the sixth course instead of the fourth. It wasn't quite right then. A brief apology would have been appropriate, but it was skillfully glossed over.

We reserved a table for two here for our wedding. We ordered the full menu, and it was our first experience of fine dining. The food was extremely delicious, with many highlights. It was truly an experience. Service was also top-notch. The three people on site made it perfect for us; we felt very well looked after. We also found the drinks selection (non-alcoholic) very good, and what we did drink was also very tasty. We sat outside in good weather. A pleasant "oasis of calm" in Frankfurt. Somehow in the middle of things, but not at the same time. It was lovely. We would gladly go back; we were completely satisfied.

We liked the location, especially the terrace, which is surrounded by many plants. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the service was mostly friendly. However, I have to say the food was disappointing; it was relatively small and not particularly tasty. We wouldn't go back.

The food was nothing special. The location is great, with a wild garden and attached hotel. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio isn't right.

The best food, the best service, and the most beautiful ambiance in a very, very long time! We felt so comfortable

It was our first time there and we were greeted by dozens of people, which is a bit unusual, but it immediately established a sense of trust. We had a quiet spot and, after perusing the menu, decided on the "complete journey." Without going into the details of the individual courses, the dishes were harmonious, some of them creative, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The service was always very friendly and was able to answer all our questions competently. We felt very comfortable and went home very satisfied after almost three hours and would happily recommend it to others.

This was my first visit to Leuchtenroter – and there will be many more to come. Everything is just perfect. The ambiance, the welcome, the friendly service, and of course, the food. Everything is perfect, and you feel simply welcome, comfortable, and satisfied.

Delicious! We did the “take it all” for 2 and were treated to a multi course meal of the best seasonal dishes I’ve had in Frankfurt. Amazing service too! Definitely recommend. Oh and the bottle of vodka on the table was a great addition

Great stylish hotel, super nice reception/reception staff, very friendly, multilingual, very committed and helpful, which is something you can't/would say about the people in charge of the restaurant. Very arrogant, conceited and ignorant. Very unpleasant when applying for jobs, spoke to Kerk after 14 days, tried to ask by phone, first she hung up, on the second call it was very unpleasant, no, nobody needed it and hung up without saying goodbye!🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️🙈😳🤯🧐 How outrageously cheeky, what an answer, the insinuation from someone in charge (management) that is supposed to be fake. I have the feeling that misandry plays a big role and above all I am ready for clarification at any time but this hotel with such staff and superiors is not to be recommended. I advise everyone not to book or even visit this hotel.👎👎👎👎👎🤮🤮

Very cozy atmosphere! ..very good 10-course menu in the evening. We had breakfast here yesterday for Mother's Day, the selection was a little smaller than the last time we had breakfast here, which I thought was a shame. Especially because it was Mother's Day. The selection that was there was very tasty. The plates were left at the table for a little longer at times, so the table was a bit full at times. However, the condition was very friendly. It was nice that the buffet wasn't so crowded.

There were 4 of us guests and had a great evening. Very tasty food, great service, it's all about getting full, but about experiencing the food and enjoying a sociable evening. We will come again :)

Ich gebe zu, ich gehöre noch zu der Generation, die damit fremdeln, wenn sie direkt geduzt werden in einem Restaurant. Im Leuchtendroter wird das aber auf eine Art und Weise gemacht, dass man sich vom hervorragenden Service und der präzisen Küche wie in die Familie aufgenommen fühlt. Ich kann nur empfehlen, das Menü insgesamt zu genießen, zum Aperitif eine Empfehlung zu wählen und das Essen vom Wodka auf dem Tisch und einem guten deutschen Wein begleiten zu lassen. Die Zutaten waren von außergewöhnlicher Qualität und tadellos verarbeitet. Vor dem Hintergrund meines Profil Namens muss ich jetzt keine weiteren Ausführungen machen, wie gut mir dieser Abend in dem vegetarischen Restaurant gefallen hat. Dankeschön

On April 12th, 2025 we went to Leuchtendroter for brunch with friends - and what can we say: absolutely recommended! The welcome was very warm, everything was explained to us in a calm manner and we immediately felt at home. The purely vegan offering was really varied, everything was fresh, creative and incredibly tasty. The ambience was also totally convincing – stylish, relaxed and with great attention to detail. You immediately notice: there is heart here. We'll definitely be back!

Simply a completely successful and wonderful evening! Superb service, fantastic food, and a wonderful atmosphere! The four of us went out to dinner that evening, and it was simply a perfect evening all around. Breakfast the next morning was also absolutely delicious. We had two allergies among us, one with celiac disease and the other with hazelnuts, and there were no problems. When we booked, we were informed that they would make every effort to ensure that no gluten was included in the dishes for the celiac, but due to cross-contamination, they couldn't 100% guarantee that some flour wouldn't fly through the kitchen and contaminate the food. But nothing happened, and this was our second time eating at Leuchtenroter and we will definitely come back many more times! The way our allergies are addressed and handled is simply outstanding! Allergies are taken seriously and handled very conscientiously! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!

No what? We thought it's a restaurant but then it's just a hotel and also we missed somehow that it's all vegan so not many options for the breakfast.. And so little for 20e per person PLUS the hot drinks cost extra

We were here for Sunday breakfast/brunch. The food was very varied and delicious, the staff very friendly, and the price, in my opinion, was more than fair. The only thing was the latte, which wasn't hot enough for my taste. But that doesn't detract from the positive review, and I'd mention it when ordering. We'll definitely be back.

Great taste experience with the 9 course menu. A feast for the eyes. My highlight was the nori-wrapped leek in garlic sauce with explosions on the tongue. And of course the dessert variations. I'll be back!

We wanted to spend a relaxing evening here for the three of us. The evening was overall pleasant, the service was excellent, unfortunately I'm a bit disappointed with the food. My last visits (most recently on October 24) were always excellent with great, creative and super tasty courses. Unfortunately, something seems to have changed in the kitchen. The individual gears weren't outstanding, they lacked a certain kick and visually (illustration) it wasn't that great either. The main courses in particular were uncreative and too much in quantity. The spring sun at the end was somehow out of place and unnecessary. Overall, it was still a nice evening, but Leuchtendroter has unfortunately declined (except for the service, which is still perfect).

I can only speak for the breakfast, which unfortunately I didn't like. The selection consisted of croissants, a handful of dips and yoghurt with fruit, as well as filter coffee. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this can be done better.

We celebrated our anniversary at Leuchtendroter last week, and it was an unforgettable experience! This was our third time enjoying their tasting menu, and I strongly recommend going for it, even though they also offer an à la carte option. The entire menu is vegan, but the flavors are beyond impressive. Their wine selection is extensive, and the cocktails are truly out of this world. One thing that never changes is the exceptional service—always flawless! A special highlight is their homemade vodka, which is already waiting for you at the table. Always recommended! 🍷✨

I've probably been there 10 times and it's always an experience. The staff is super attentive, the atmosphere is great and the food is always a surprise with consistently good quality. Animal cruelty-free fine dining par excellence!

Update: I also communicated my criticism again by email, which was received and explained in a very friendly manner. I was also offered an aperitif on the house for the next time, which I found to be a very nice gesture! They really make an effort here! Service was very nice and accommodating, I also really liked the ambience. However, my expectations regarding the food were not entirely met - we had the 3-course menu and unfortunately it tasted almost bland, which was a shame because the composition of the menu itself was very nice. In addition, the presentation of the food didn't look quite as nice. Since it's certainly not for nothing that the Leuchtendroter has such good reviews, we'll give it another chance, but probably in the evening :-)

It was our first time at LEUCHTENDROTER - unfortunately we were a bit disappointed overall. The ambience, the welcome on site and the initial drinks advice were extremely good. We were also very satisfied with the first courses of the 10-course menu. Unfortunately, this level could not be maintained afterwards. The evaluation of the individual dishes is certainly very subjective. Unfortunately, these were often a bit too one-dimensional and simple for us. Unfortunately, the special twist or the special taste experience was often missing. The portions are sometimes quite generous even for a 10-course meal. What was much more serious, however, was that the time intervals between courses unfortunately varied greatly. While some courses arrived at the same time or a few minutes in a row, other dishes sometimes had to wait 45 minutes. We were told that we were (unfortunately) there on the first day of the new card and that's why there were these waiting times etc. Not ideal, but that would have been manageable if attentive service had at least ensured a refill of drinks. However, both of our glasses remained empty for over 2 hours and were not cleared away. This was simply ignored, which we found very unfortunate. The empty plates were also cleared away by the service in the meantime without asking. That also really irritated us. The dessert, in turn, stood empty in front of us for a good quarter of an hour. We also had to aggressively demand that we were allowed to pay because there was simply no more service coming to our table. We will still visit LEUCHTENDROTER again because we would like to know whether this was a one-off mistake. We generally think the ambience and the option of a vegan 10-course menu, as well as a great drinks menu, are great. A note at the end: I found it particularly unfortunate that I had made a special phone call in advance to say that it was my friend's birthday that day and that we should perhaps present her with a small gift at the dessert, such as a small candle, etc. This was also confirmed and noted by the nice gentleman on the phone. When we got there it was also noted that it was obviously her birthday because I had a present for her. She was also congratulated at the welcome. Unfortunately, the attention discussed was completely absent. Too bad.

A wonderful atmosphere with a wonderful team and extremely good food. It's unbelievable how much taste and sophistication you can conjure up from vegan ingredients.

It was our first time for lunch at Leuchtendroter and I would visit again at any time. For €25 we were served a high-quality 3-course meal. I've never had such good pumpkin soup! The main course was also very tasty - I can definitely recommend the green sauce. We also really enjoyed the chocolate mousse at the end! The service was always super friendly and accommodating, but never intrusive or “over the top”. This is exactly what I expect from a perfect restaurant visit!

Very nice restaurant and great outdoor area. The service was very pleasant and courteous. The restaurant is highly recommended as a special experience. Many of the dishes on our menu were fried or very fatty, but tasted very tasty. You could drink a small bottle of vodka with the meal on the house, which we have never experienced before.

The food is of super high quality and is explained in detail. It's really a great taste experience and highly recommended. Dogs are also very welcome. The only drawback is the portion size with the recommended “sharing principle”. For a few dishes, it could have been more generous and much difficult to share the portion. All in all, we were very satisfied and will definitely come back!

A nice restaurant, a nice atmosphere, but there is always a lack of supplies at brunch. We were there for the second time and it was like the first time. At 10 a.m. the buffet was full to the brim, but at 10:30 a.m. the situation was already serious and you were looking at quite a few empty bowls. I couldn't tell when the replenishment came. It's a shame, but we won't dare make a third attempt.

If I could, I'd give several extra stars just for service. We had the most pleasant evening at leuchtendroter. The staff was welcoming and warm from the first interaction, putting a personal - and personable - touch on the dinner. The food is extraordinary as well, even though there were clear favourites amongst the 10 (+2) courses. The drinks are refreshing if weak, which is more than compensated for, considering there is a complimentary bottle of vodka included in the experience. In short, we'll be back (once there are new items on the menu).

I can only recommend the restaurant. The 10 course menu has it all. We really enjoyed being there. The waiters were really friendly and told us something about each course. There was also good wine and a really good ambience. It was worth every euro to me.

Service is such a big part of the experience especially if you intend to eat for a few hours and if you feel you're treated unfairly, it just ruins the night. Wouldn't go there again.

Great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Special requests were also well addressed. I think it's great that there are now some vegan star restaurants in Frankfurt. The portions of the 10-course menu are tiny, but at some point you will actually get full. Unfortunately, I found the taste to be anything but special. Unfortunately, crusty bread with margarine and carrot 🥕 with a little dressing doesn't convince me. It was okay, but not something I would go back for. That was a bit of a shame, but it was still a great experience.

From start to finish it was just perfect. Super nice, fast and friendly service. A chair was immediately brought to us (without asking) for our small, old dog so that she didn't have to lie on the floor (of course we put a blanket underneath). The food was also fantastic, every course was new. Very good quality for the price and absolutely sufficient even for someone who is very hungry. We love coming back again and again.

Visiting this restaurant was a great experience. The food is very good and what I would like to particularly emphasize is that the ingredients chosen create new creations and taste experiences. Worth every penny! Great service and every course was a taste experience. Everything is delicious and the place is really cozy. We were also able to bring our dog - there was even a course for him (small carrot snacks 👍🏻
