I had lunch there with colleagues and was pleasantly surprised: A rich selection of freshly prepared German dishes was laid out as a buffet, including fresh croquettes, sauces, roulades, fish, various salads, roasts, schnitzel, and much more 😊 The dessert buffet also left little to be desired: various small cakes, yogurt, pudding, fruit, and churros rounded off the German cuisine perfectly. A little tip: Reservations are essential for larger groups! The ambiance of an older restaurant perfectly complements the concept of traditional German cuisine, although the restrooms could use a bit of an upgrade.... Conclusion: I'll definitely be back! If you're tired of the kebab shops on every corner or delivery services, this is the place for you.

Everything was completely fine. Unfortunately, there was less choice of hot dishes than expected. However, there was a lot of salad selection. But the price/performance ratio was completely acceptable and highly recommended.

Each time, we felt very comfortable and were completely satisfied. The Leinemahl offers classic German traditional cuisine, prepared honestly, freshly, and with great care. The dishes are tastefully and attractively presented, and are always served hot and of very high quality. You can tell that the ingredients used here are good. The service is friendly, attentive, and helpful. You receive a warm welcome and immediately feel welcome. Special requests are also accommodated without any problems – which makes the visit particularly pleasant. The restaurant's prices are reasonable and fair. The value for money is good, and you get really good food here at a reasonable price. Our conclusion: The Leinemahl is a recommended restaurant for anyone who enjoys German traditional cuisine and appreciates a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to our next meal!

The food and service were very, very good. Unfortunately, the ambiance is mediocre. I sat near the ice cream machine twice and sometimes couldn't hear what I was saying. When it starts rattling, it's really annoying. We'll be back, of course. But next time we'll sit somewhere else 😉 The staff are all super friendly and competent. The buffet is very extensive, and it's easy to try everything. For example, the peppers seemed to be cut in half, and the cabbage rolls were smaller than you'd expect. Whenever something ran out, it was quickly refilled. The buffet had a great selection. The staff was very attentive and always friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

The drinks came quickly and were well chilled. Anyone who comes here will certainly not be disappointed. We'd love to come back

I saw the ad on social media and thought I'd give it a try. We were allowed to choose a table even though we had a reservation. We ordered drinks, which were brought to our table relatively quickly. Then we went to the buffet, which didn't look very appealing to me. You had to be careful not to burn your hands with some of the tongs. The meat dishes were unfortunately too hot, and the taste was also not enjoyable. It was very disappointing for my husband and me. Unfortunately, we only had the beef meal once.

There's a free 3-hour parking lot nearby with a parking disc. The restaurant is highly recommended! We spontaneously stopped by for lunch, and our expectations were exceeded...there was a large salad buffet and a buffet with various hot dishes, followed by a dessert buffet—all at a very reasonable price. I went there for the lunch buffet for the first time today, and I was absolutely thrilled! Both the salad buffet and the hot dishes (Kassler, chicken curry, chickpea curry, cod, roast pork, chicken schnitzel, hash browns, various vegetables and sauces) were very varied and consistently delicious. They were so delicious that I didn't even take any pictures ;) There was also a small dessert buffet with various creams, ice cream, and amazing warm churros. Highly recommended, great value for money (€12.90 per person).

Leinemahl is a fantastic place where you can eat deliciously on the basis of an open buffet. There is a skilled chef who cooks the meat or fish for you himself. You can serve yourself as much as you want, really value for money, and the delicious desserts are not to be missed.

In addition to the hot dishes, there was also a generous salad buffet and, of course, desserts. The service was prompt and friendly. The outdoor seating with a view of the market square is recommended in nice weather. The price for the buffet, considering the quantity and taste of the food, is completely reasonable. Thumbs up.

Unfassbar gut. Einen schönen Familienabend gehabt. Das abwechslungsreiche und reichhaltige Buffet ließ keine Wünsche offen. Selbst die Kinder, die nur einen Euro pro Alter zahlen, waren angesichts des Nachspeisenbuffet kaum zu bremsen. Dazu der aufmerksame und zuvorkommend freundliche Service rundete den Abend perfekt ab.

Absolutely recommended. Went there for the lunch buffet, which was very inexpensive. Because the vegetarian offerings at the buffet are smaller on weekdays, we asked and without any fuss a delicious quinoa plate with grilled vegetables was conjured up for us. My parents tried the meat dishes and were, as always with their regular visits, extremely satisfied.

The dessert selection is also great. The only thing we missed from the buffet was a boiled potato. But that didn't detract from the meal. For us it was a great meal all around and we can only recommend it. We will definitely come back.

We wanted to enjoy typical German specialties, and the buffet exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. The rustic décor with wooden furniture gives the restaurant a warm atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, empty plates were cleared quickly and we were always served with a smile. The buffet offered an excellent selection of traditional German dishes. I was particularly impressed by the offer of a veggie pina to try, as well as delicious side dishes such as a variety of potatoes and fresh salads. The dishes were consistently fresh and well seasoned, and the hake with spinach in particular was a real highlight! The desserts were also impressive. The homemade dessert buffet offered delicious puddings and fresh fruits and several different sauces. You could also vary your own ice cream with smarties or brittle etc. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair - the price is more than justified for the quality and variety of the food. I particularly liked that vegetarian alternatives were also offered. Overall, a wonderful experience! Leinemahl is ideal for anyone who loves German cuisine and wants to try their way through a diverse buffet. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it! We were there on Boxing Day and everything was great until we paid. Nowhere did it say that you have to pay €26.90 per person. Even when we made the reservation over the phone, it wasn't pointed out. This can also scare away your customers. If the price had been stated transparently beforehand, as is mandatory in Germany, we would not have come. The two of us spent a little over €70, which isn't possible.

This is the third time I've come to this restaurant in a year. I am on a gluten-free diet and have a strong intolerance to wheat and its derivatives. The restaurant staff are always very kind and try their best to make me feel comfortable. Yesterday I visited this restaurant with my language school group. We celebrated the end of our studies. When I arrived, at first I was upset that there was no suitable meat dish for me. But the waiters quickly conveyed my request to the kitchen and 15 minutes later they brought me a huge dish of fried chicken with vegetables! Gluten free! That's why I think the service is top notch! Everyone was nice, helpful, attentive! I recommend this establishment to anyone who has the same gluten intolerance as me. You can call in advance and notify us about the menu and everything will be taken into account when you arrive.

Yesterday we went to this restaurant for the first time and I can say that this place can be recommended as an excellent place to eat well and have a nice time. The selection of dishes is varied and can even be prepared personally if it turns out that there are allergy sufferers or people with intolerances to certain ingredients in your company. Service at a high level, the staff is courteous, the service is provided in a short time. Ice cream - an unexpected dessert with various fillings (fruits, nuts, etc.). We were very satisfied. We recently ate at Leinemahl again and, as always, it was very good. Food was great, service was also great and the ambience is very nice, as a restaurant should be. We have been there several times with the family and it is simply fantastic how the little children feel at home. Leinemahl is really a very warm restaurant and one of the delicious ones in the entire area. We also think it's great that Alfeld has such a good German restaurant again.

Based on a recommendation, we went to Leinemahl with my whole family this Christmas on December 25th. It was a very special Christmas. There were beautiful Christmas dishes on it and there were also other things for the little ones. All 25 people were thrilled and had never had such a wonderful Christmas. It was relaxed and there was a nice atmosphere. We reserved a table straight away for next year, even though my children are from out of town. The Leinemahl is a warmest recommendation!!

Actually, one star is too much. We were there on November 1st, 2024…I have to say it was really good. The buffet was lavish, the service was also very pleasant and all at a really good price. But what we experienced today on December 25th, 2024 was truly horrific. We reserved a table for 9 people well in advance, and when we walked into the restaurant no one felt responsible for us. When we got our place on our own, everything was fine until then. We thought, okay, a lot of work can happen sometimes. We were really disappointed at the buffet. It wasn't anything that looked like Christmas dinner in any way...it was far worse quality than on November 1st. So far so good but charging €26.90 doesn't make sense to me. To be honest, this price is not okay for canteen food. There were small pieces of duck stirred into the red cabbage... there weren't even any dumplings, so we're happy to pay more money, especially at Christmas, but if you raise the regular price by €11, which is really legitimate, then you have to at least do something Deliver Christmas culinary delights. We're really disappointed because it was really good just a month ago. It's a shame that it turned out that way, but Leinemahl is not recommended for Christmas.
