I saw the ad on social media and thought I'd give it a try. We were allowed to choose a table even though we had a reservation. We ordered drinks, which were brought to our table relatively quickly. Then we went to the buffet, which didn't look very appealing to me. You had to be careful not to burn your hands with some of the tongs. The meat dishes were unfortunately too hot, and the taste was also not enjoyable. It was very disappointing for my husband and me. Unfortunately, we only had the beef meal once.

There's a free 3-hour parking lot nearby with a parking disc. The restaurant is highly recommended! We spontaneously stopped by for lunch, and our expectations were exceeded...there was a large salad buffet and a buffet with various hot dishes, followed by a dessert buffet—all at a very reasonable price. You can't ask for more...we'll definitely be back. 👍

The manager was extremely helpful from the start, was very accommodating with our price, and even added some lovely details to the menu to ensure everything was perfect and harmonious. The food delivery went smoothly, the buffet was beautifully presented, and far exceeded our expectations. Our guests were thrilled – we received countless compliments on the menu. Many were so impressed that they even returned to the restaurant after the wedding to enjoy the food again. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team – you made our big day unforgettable!

A cozy, homely restaurant with a large buffet and a wide selection for the whole family. Vegetarians will also find plenty to enjoy with the varied salad buffet. The service is excellent – friendly, attentive, and courteous. The price and quality are simply right here.

I went there for the lunch buffet for the first time today, and I was absolutely thrilled! Both the salad buffet and the hot dishes (Kassler, chicken curry, chickpea curry, cod, roast pork, chicken schnitzel, hash browns, various vegetables and sauces) were very varied and consistently delicious. They were so delicious that I didn't even take any pictures ;) There was also a small dessert buffet with various creams, ice cream, and amazing warm churros. Highly recommended, great value for money (€12.90 per person).

Highly recommended as a break on the bike tour, the lunch buffet was perfect, very good value for money, and if you ask politely, recharging the e-bike battery is no problem.

We went for the dinner buffet and didn't think it was that good. The service was very friendly and attentive, which was the only good thing. The food wasn't good; tasteless and dry. There were flies stuck to the dessert, and most of the dishes were processed foods.

We visited this restaurant for the first time today and immediately fell in love with it – the German cuisine is simply wonderful! 🍽️ From the very beginning, we were extremely pleasantly surprised. The service was fast, friendly, and always with a smile. A real plus! 🌟 The ambiance is rather traditional, in keeping with German cuisine – unfortunately, it seems a bit dated and not quite as it used to be, but that doesn't bother us. The buffet is small but fine and definitely sufficient. There's a great selection of starters and desserts that perfectly round off the culinary experience. 😋 The value for money is excellent, which makes the restaurant even more recommendable. All in all, a great restaurant that we definitely recommend! We've found our new favorite and would love to come back. 👍 As of May 2025

Leinemahl is a fantastic place where you can eat deliciously on the basis of an open buffet. There is a skilled chef who cooks the meat or fish for you himself. You can serve yourself as much as you want, really value for money, and the delicious desserts are not to be missed.

We were there for the buffet on the weekend. The selection of dishes was extensive and good. There was something for everyone. In addition to the hot dishes, there was also a generous salad buffet and, of course, desserts. The service was prompt and friendly. The outdoor seating with a view of the market square is recommended in nice weather. The price for the buffet, considering the quantity and taste of the food, is completely reasonable. Thumbs up.

The selection of dishes at the evening buffet is extensive and delicious. Here everyone gets their fill and finds something suitable There is a salad buffet with different salads and dressings. A dessert corner with various delicacies awaits you. The whole thing is available at a fair price. We'd love to come by again

Unfassbar gut. Einen schönen Familienabend gehabt. Das abwechslungsreiche und reichhaltige Buffet ließ keine Wünsche offen. Selbst die Kinder, die nur einen Euro pro Alter zahlen, waren angesichts des Nachspeisenbuffet kaum zu bremsen. Dazu der aufmerksame und zuvorkommend freundliche Service rundete den Abend perfekt ab.

We were completely convinced during our visit today. The food was varied and super tasty. Various types of meat, vegetarian dishes, salads, pasta, potatoes, vegetables and sauces were available to choose from. For dessert there were various puddings or creams, soft ice cream, cream puffs, cream cake and fruit. Something for everyone. Really great value for money. We look forward to our next visit to Leinemahl.

Absolutely recommended. Went there for the lunch buffet, which was very inexpensive. Because the vegetarian offerings at the buffet are smaller on weekdays, we asked and without any fuss a delicious quinoa plate with grilled vegetables was conjured up for us. My parents tried the meat dishes and were, as always with their regular visits, extremely satisfied.

The ambience is nice; a little older, but perfectly fine with a lot of charm. The staff is super friendly, always have a smile and are very helpful. The food is classic German cuisine. The dessert selection is also great. The only thing we missed from the buffet was a boiled potato. But that didn't detract from the meal. For us it was a great meal all around and we can only recommend it. We will definitely come back.

Everything is great and tasty but please ask for the price beforehand as it does not match the price on the website. You only notice it when you pay. When asked, I received a stupid answer that these were external websites.

A delight for lovers of German cuisine – great buffet with a large selection! I recently visited the Leinemahl restaurant with my husband and was completely impressed. We wanted to enjoy typical German specialties, and the buffet exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to linger. The rustic décor with wooden furniture gives the restaurant a warm atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, empty plates were cleared quickly and we were always served with a smile. The buffet offered an excellent selection of traditional German dishes. I was particularly impressed by the offer of a veggie pina to try, as well as delicious side dishes such as a variety of potatoes and fresh salads. The dishes were consistently fresh and well seasoned, and the hake with spinach in particular was a real highlight! The desserts were also impressive. The homemade dessert buffet offered delicious puddings and fresh fruits and several different sauces. You could also vary your own ice cream with smarties or brittle etc. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair - the price is more than justified for the quality and variety of the food. I particularly liked that vegetarian alternatives were also offered. Overall, a wonderful experience! Leinemahl is ideal for anyone who loves German cuisine and wants to try their way through a diverse buffet. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it! We were there on Boxing Day and everything was great until we paid. Nowhere did it say that you have to pay €26.90 per person. Even when we made the reservation over the phone, it wasn't pointed out. This can also scare away your customers. If the price had been stated transparently beforehand, as is mandatory in Germany, we would not have come. The two of us spent a little over €70, which isn't possible.

This is the third time I've come to this restaurant in a year. I am on a gluten-free diet and have a strong intolerance to wheat and its derivatives. The restaurant staff are always very kind and try their best to make me feel comfortable. Yesterday I visited this restaurant with my language school group. We celebrated the end of our studies. When I arrived, at first I was upset that there was no suitable meat dish for me. But the waiters quickly conveyed my request to the kitchen and 15 minutes later they brought me a huge dish of fried chicken with vegetables! Gluten free! That's why I think the service is top notch! Everyone was nice, helpful, attentive! I recommend this establishment to anyone who has the same gluten intolerance as me. You can call in advance and notify us about the menu and everything will be taken into account when you arrive.

The selection of dishes is varied and can even be prepared personally if it turns out that there are allergy sufferers or people with intolerances to certain ingredients in your company. Service at a high level, the staff is courteous, the service is provided in a short time. Ice cream - an unexpected dessert with various fillings (fruits, nuts, etc.). We were very satisfied. Based on a recommendation, we went to Leinemahl with my whole family this Christmas on December 25th. It was a very special Christmas. There were beautiful Christmas dishes on it and there were also other things for the little ones. All 25 people were thrilled and had never had such a wonderful Christmas. It was relaxed and there was a nice atmosphere. We reserved a table straight away for next year, even though my children are from out of town. The Leinemahl is a warmest recommendation!!

We recently ate at Leinemahl again and, as always, it was very good. Food was great, service was also great and the ambience is very nice, as a restaurant should be. We have been there several times with the family and it is simply fantastic how the little children feel at home. Leinemahl is really a very warm restaurant and one of the delicious ones in the entire area. We also think it's great that Alfeld has such a good German restaurant again.

Actually, one star is too much. We were there on November 1st, 2024…I have to say it was really good. The buffet was lavish, the service was also very pleasant and all at a really good price. But what we experienced today on December 25th, 2024 was truly horrific. We reserved a table for 9 people well in advance, and when we walked into the restaurant no one felt responsible for us. When we got our place on our own, everything was fine until then. We thought, okay, a lot of work can happen sometimes. We were really disappointed at the buffet. It wasn't anything that looked like Christmas dinner in any way...it was far worse quality than on November 1st. So far so good but charging €26.90 doesn't make sense to me. To be honest, this price is not okay for canteen food. There were small pieces of duck stirred into the red cabbage... there weren't even any dumplings, so we're happy to pay more money, especially at Christmas, but if you raise the regular price by €11, which is really legitimate, then you have to at least do something Deliver Christmas culinary delights. We're really disappointed because it was really good just a month ago. It's a shame that it turned out that way, but Leinemahl is not recommended for Christmas.

A few years ago this was my favorite restaurant. Apparently we now only serve a buffet, which is good, but not outstanding. The service was excellent as always.

I am (was) a guest from the very beginning. At the beginning I thought the small menu was great because all the ingredients were fresh and individual cuisine was served on the table. Unfortunately, all of this has fallen by the wayside since the buffet operation. Carelessly prepared buffet with uniformity and half-heartedly seasoned dishes. In this case, less would be more and with more love. 3 stars for the service and the salad buffet. So, please go within yourself and get your initial motivation back

Yes, there was a lot going on on Saturday at 6 p.m. But there is a reason for that. Great selection at the buffet. Starters, main courses, desserts, everything was as delicious as your mother's. We have to come back as we couldn't try everything. So much choice. But what's awesome, after Corona, unfortunately you don't see that often anymore, the super nice and quick service staff. Chapeau.
