My sister and I had a wonderful evening at Le bonbon. The food was not only excellently prepared, but also prepared with great attention to detail - simply a pleasure! Nice ambience and elegant atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, which rounded off our visit perfectly. We'll definitely be back!

A wonderful restaurant with first-class food and courteous service. Everything was perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. You can tell that a lot of attention is paid to detail here - from the design to the menu: modern, urban, high quality. We would love to come back! Absolutely recommended for a special evening!

Wir waren schon mal vor 2 Jahren im Le BonBon und damals restlos begeistert. Unser jetziger Aufenthalt war leider eine große Enttäuschung. Der Service ist sehr schlecht und man wartet auf die Bestellungen extrem lang. Selbst die bereits angerichteten Speisen werden nicht direkt an den Tisch des Gastes gebracht, so dass diese meist nur noch lau warm sind. Als Koch würde ich mal richtig auf den Tisch hauen, denn dieser versteht sein Handwerk. Zu allem Übel es auch im Restaurant noch so kalt, dass Gäste die Jacke am Tisch angezogen haben. In Summe leider nicht mehr zu empfehlen!

We visited LeBonBon with six people. The price-performance ratio is not quite right. We wouldn't categorize it as fine dining either. Unfortunately the food didn't arrive at the same time so we couldn't start together. In addition, the cutlery is not suitable for eating a steak. What also bothered us was that there were only worthless paper napkins, like in a snack bar. In addition, no plate is served with the bread, although there is oil on the table and it was clear that we would share our starters. In detail, a side dish was cold, and a steak that was ordered was not cooked to the desired level. The fries were inedible, one portion was too salty and in the other portion some of the fries were very, very dark. The staff was very friendly, but in terms of their outfits they couldn't be distinguished from the guests. Unfortunately, we were also very unlucky and it was only after we asked why it was so cold that we were told that the heating system had only recently started working again. We also thought it was a shame that after our complaint we didn't receive any offer of compensation, such as an espresso or a short drink. Apparently our expectations were too high because the prices are also high. We found the location and the ambience beautiful. The cocktails were also excellent. We would also classify the quality of the products that are recycled as high. But we feel that the price-performance ratio is not in harmony. Generally means for us upscale gastronomy that all harmonizes. Personally, we will no longer visit the restaurant because we do not see the price-performance ratio as appropriate.

Highly priced but good food. However, the prices should also match the ambience and service. Apparently it's hard to find good staff, there was a waiter who cleared away without a word. The service staff in a restaurant in this price range usually asks whether it was tasty or whether it could be dessert, coffee, etc. Overall, more appearance than reality. It starts with the frayed menu and the cheap paper napkins. Let's not even mention the music being way too loud. We won't be coming back, there are much better restaurants in Mainz.

I’ve lived in Mainz for a few years as an expat and the food was super tasty and the staff was very attentive. I believe it was the restaurant manager does a great job and is very polite. The steak melts in your mouth and the truffle fries are delicious. It was moderately busy - not full. It’s a Saturday night. I hope this helps! Come check this place out you won’t be let down.

Good food, but not too special. Pasta was a bit too soft

Nice location and very nice ambience, the food was very tasty. Parking is a bit difficult but there is a parking garage 500 m away.

Very tasty food, although rather small portions for the price. Lots of choice of drinks! And attentive service. Unfortunately, even though it's only a third full, you can hardly have a conversation because it's so extremely loud (bad acoustics and music is also way too loud).

The waitress was very attentive and the carpaccio was very good. I liked the watercolor pictures. Otherwise it was simple and cool, but that's a matter of taste.

We weren't impressed, definitely overpriced for the performance. Steak prepared incorrectly for the hefty price of €40, had to be ordered again, which took almost 30 minutes. Despite fewer guests, service was pretty inattentive. The reservation was expressly made for a birthday child, a little flower or at least a “congratulations” from the waitress wouldn’t have hurt. Chairs and tables like in a student cafeteria. This isn't fine dining here, even though that's how it's sold ☹️

“LE BON BON” … a name like a promise for top quality and service in every respect. - Unfortunately that is not the case. The good news first: compliments to the kitchen!!! High appreciation for interior design. Admiration for the facade painting (toilet corridor) and for the successful outdoor advertising! The unsightly...: Price/performance ratio “overall grade inadequate”! Service amateur, i.e. i.e.: no trained restaurateurs. We were neither greeted nor farewelled, and no indication of the cloakroom. Menu does NOT correspond to the homepage. Tables not set correctly (no tablecloths, no coasters, cheap cutlery and cheap service, no place and/or menu plates, but 1 bread plate each and unprepared paper napkins...? Surround sound/music: Very loud! Courtesy needs improvement. Not all types of wine/champagne offered... after ordering: Not available?! Note: “That doesn’t work at all!”… Summary: Maybe we'll come back again... (?) But then with completely different expectations and if so, then "just" to eat a good steak.

The food tasted good. We had three vegetarian pasta dishes and each selected a salad. For one dish (filled noodles) the portion was a bit puny for our taste. Our service was extremely friendly and pleasant and also helpful beyond the usual level. When we asked, we received very charming and knowledgeable advice on choosing one breakfast places. The furnishings are modern and have an urban feel. Unfortunately, it is so loud in the guest room that it can be annoying, especially if you are staying for a longer period of time.

The food was really very good, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait 15 minutes for the menu, while guests who arrived after us and were obviously aware of the service were already being served their drinks in the meantime. Overall, the service was unfortunately very inattentive, even though only a few tables were occupied. It's a shame that the service marred an otherwise positive experience.

Since we were very impressed by the LeBonBons overall package in the past, we suggested to our friends that they visit the restaurant. In retrospect, we are very disappointed and found it particularly unfortunate for our friends, as we had raved so much beforehand. Due to the steeply increased prices (sauce costs an extra €2! - reason: most guests don't eat the sauce anyway) and the very poor service including a long waiting time between the starter and the main course, we will refrain from visiting again. The drinks were delivered incorrectly and after the feedback that the dishes used to be presented more beautifully and that we were surprised that there was no longer any sauce with the beef fillet, the answer was simply: it's on the menu. Afterwards, the blame was placed on the colleague because she didn't point it out to us. In my opinion, something like that doesn't work at all. All in all too expensive for what is offered. The evening was definitely ruined for us.

We can't complain about the food... A long wait would unfortunately only be noticed when we left and the staff was absent... The decoration on the ceiling only partially covers the industrial ceiling... But the walk to the toilet is exciting and well designed

Unprofessional and overwhelmed staff, coupled with ridiculous arrogance. Maybe if you want to be exclusive and high-priced, you shouldn't rely on cheap service staff as a part-time job. Never again!

Worst service ever! If I could, I would rate this zero stars. Waited for over an hour for our food and it never arrived. We are used to the bad service in Germany, but this hit another level, waitress and staff in general was so rude and indifferent to us. Will never go back to this place. Last week my husband and I were supposed to have dinner with some friends, after the waitress took our order, we could notice tables around us were getting their food but us. Time went by and still no food for us, when I asked the waitress, she tells us she’s forgotten to send the order to the kitchen. Instead of expediting the order, we could notice they were not working on our dishes, at this point the waitress is completely ignoring us and there’s no one else to talk to. We had to stand from the table to tell the waitress to cancel our order, as more than one hour had gone by.

The worst service I have ever received in this country! The waitress never ordered our food and after an hour of waiting they told us that they made a mistake and she had just ordered it. Half an hour later we still hadn't received anything!!! We decided to leave and they didn't even have the courtesy to compensate us. This was most mediocre service I have ever received, I would never go back!!!

Invited to a party with a multi-course dinner. Visually very appealing starters, main course and dessert and the taste could absolutely keep up. The buttery tender beef fillet is fantastic...

Geschmacklich war das Restaurant gut, der Service jedoch leider ziemlich schlecht. Teilweise waren wir die einzigen 6 Gäste und mussten ziemlich lange auf unser Essen warten. Die Bedienung war nicht sehr speisekartenkundig und absolut unflexibel. Auf den Hinweis, dass sie sich vielleicht etwas besser mit der Küche absprechen sollte, wenn es um Informationen zu den Gerichten geht, sagte sie, dass das nicht ihre Aufgabe sei und die Initiative da von der Küche kommen müsse?! Die Portionen waren auch recht klein für den Preis, sodass trotz 3 Gängen nicht jeder satt wurde. Atmosphäre war gut, man hat Einblick in die Küche.

Good food and service in a pleasant atmosphere.

I've been to Le Bon Bon a few times. Unfortunately, the food and service are declining - the price/performance ratio is no longer right. Service on Fridays alone for indoor and outdoor use. Hope the level picks up again - the location is really nice!

I think the atmosphere is very nice, I really like both the bar area and the restaurant. The food is ok, but you have to say that for the price I expect better meat quality or that I can have better quality in a good atmosphere elsewhere (including in Mainz!). The service in the restaurant was okay, unfortunately reservations or arrangements such as for a whiskey tasting don't really work out or are tossed back and forth. I'll come back for a spontaneous drink, but probably not for the rest.

Sbalgliato was ok, French75 and old fashioned were a disaster. Even though it says so on the menu, truffle fries are served without truffles. When asked, they explain that the oil is on top of the Parmesan. The tartare was bland and boring. Save yourself the visit here and go to ffm, there are some similar concepts where the performance is right for the price.

An hour and a half before our reservation I got a call: Closed event that evening, it had slipped through. Of course something like this can happen, but unfortunately I was shown little understanding on the phone. Professionalism hardly exists.

Anyone who names their restaurant Le BON BON naturally raises expectations among their guests when it comes to food, service and ambience. We received inferior champagne, tough meat and dull cutlery. The atmosphere reminded me of a canteen in an industrial company. Menu stapled together, hard plastic furniture, no tablecloth. The service staff was inappropriately dressed and temperamental. Maybe Gen Z will be happy here. Unfortunately we were disappointed.

The service was very accommodating. The food is phenomenal! Starters, main courses and cocktails were all outstanding! Ambiance is very fashionable so it's a matter of taste. I will come again - no question.

Wir wollten schön Essen gehen und sind auf Empfehlung hier gelandet. Reservierung dringend empfohlen - alle Tische waren voll (Samstag Abend) der Raum ist modern und schick designed. Die nackten Betonwönde haben aber einen Nachteil: der Geräuschpegel ist ziemlich hoch und man nimmt unfreiwillig an Gesprächen vom Nachbartisch teil. Das Team ist professionell und zuvorkommend. Die Karte lässt keine Wünsche offen, die Qualität der Speisen (wir hatten die Parmesan-Prosecco-Suppe und den Fischteller) ist hervorragend. Das Preisniveau ist gerechtfertigt. Gerne jederzeit wieder !

We had reserved a table with several people. The cards were placed in front of us and then it took an hour until we could order drinks. After another hour the drinks arrived and the food order was taken. We were informed that everything on the menu could no longer be ordered (at 7 p.m.). Another 1.5 hours passed before the ordered food arrived. Unfortunately, sometimes the food wasn't even delivered as ordered because other ingredients such as shrimp etc. ran out at that point. Unfortunately no one told us this and of course it was on the bill. In fact, I would only recommend the restaurant for drinks, as they came quite quickly - but definitely not for a dinner visit!

Unfortunately, the beef fillet, salmon, shrimp, etc. were already sold out at 7:30 p.m. Since the map is already very manageable, unfortunately there isn't much left. It was not announced in advance that certain ingredients such as shrimp were no longer available, but were simply served without shrimp. In total we had to wait well over an hour for the food. Some of our group got their food half an hour before the others. The food was tasty, so it's a shame that the rest wasn't convincing.

The food is a taste experience. Both the excellently fried fillet steak (crispy on the outside, tender medium on the inside) and the truffle spaghetti. The service was always courteous, friendly and attentive. Individual cocktail requests were accepted by the bartender, and the service staff's advice on suitable wines was also competent. We would love to come back – professionally and privately.

Das Essen war zwar gut, allerdings hat es ewig gedauert bis die Bestellung überhaupt aufgenommen worden ist und insgesamt war der Service unstrukturiert.

Sehr leckeres Essen (sowohl Steak als auch Trüffelpasta probiert)! Cocktails gut und nicht zu stark.

Super Laden, tolles Ambiente, mega Personal! Letzte Woche haben wir in einer kleinen Gruppe meinen Geburtstag gefeiert und wir wurden wie immer großartig beraten und behandelt. Die Barkeeper sind spitze auf ihrem Gebiet. Sie gehen auf Extrawünsche ein, machen auch alkoholfreie Cocktails die nach mehr als Saft schmecken und empfehlen hervorragend Weine, die das Essen komplimentieren. Das Servicepersonal ist auch immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Obwohl ich vergessen hatte ein veganes Menü für meine Mutter anzumelden, hat die Bedienung, trotz vollem Hause, keine Mühen gesträubt persönlich in der Küche nach Alternativen zu fragen und hat uns letztendlich mit hervorragendem Essen überrascht. Der Rest meiner Familie und Freunde haben sich Steaks oder Fisch bestellt, und wir waren alle mehr als zufrieden.

wir waren Samstag dort T-Bone Steak mit Garnelen und als kleine Vorspeise mediterrans Weißbrot mit tollen Oliven essen. Ich würde euch 5 Sterne geben aber Garnelen waren tot gegart und mehlig, unsere Finger hätten ein feuchtes Tuch gebraucht 😊schaut mal nach einer anderen Sorte oder nehmt die nur mit Schwanzsegment 👍Euer Service top immer Blick auf die Gäste fühlten uns gut aufgehoben

Essen war super. Leider hatten wir das Gefühl, dass wir nicht lange am Platz sein sollen. Am Ende hat sich rausgestellt, dass es wohl eine Anschlussreservierung gab. Auf dem Preisniveau etwas schade nur 90 Minuten zu bekommen...

Ambiente stimmt, Essen gut, der Service jedoch indiskutabel. Unfreundliches, unprofessionelles Personal. Für ein Restaurant bzw. eine Bar in dieser Preiskategorie nicht zu akzeptieren.

Sehr schöne Location mit köstlichen Essen (vorwiegend mit Fleisch). Charmanter Service. Guter Wein. Während der Corona-Zeit sind große Kuscheltiere als Abstandshalter platziert, sind aber nicht sehr redselig 😊 ...vor kurzem nochmal dagewesen, leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nun nicht mehr so ganz. Schade.

Ansprechendes Restaurant mit moderner Atmosphere. Da hier die Speisekarte regelmäßig wechselt, lohnt es sich, vor dem Besuche zu schauen, was es gerade gibt. Das Fleischangebot ist hier wirklich exquisit und das Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Es war mein erster Besuch im LeBonBon und ich muss sagen ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so gutes Fleisch gegessen wie hier. Das Essen war super! Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Ambiente hat sich wie Urlaub angefühlt. Sehr empfehlenswert. Wir kommen wieder.

Service eine Katastrophe, Essen geht's aber sehr teuer, allgemein kein gute andrück und nicht zur empfehlen. Schade

Wir waren gestern mit fünf Personen im LeBonBon Essen und das nicht das erste Mal. Leider scheint auch das LeBonBon die aktuelle Servicewüste erreicht zu haben. Vorab - Es gab an den Speisen nichts auszusetzen. Weniger der Hang zu Trüffel, etwas hochwertigeres Brot bei der Vorspeise und mehr vegetarische Alternativen würden die 5 Sterne vollmachen. Das Ambiente ist und bleibt schön und zu gleich etwas ganz spezielles. Der Service hingegen war unterirdisch. Flasche Getränke, Speisen wurden sich nicht gemerkt und trotz Hinweis der falschen Person gegeben, Salz und Pfeffer und Öl wurden abgeräumt, obwohl 1 Person noch ist etc pp. Der Knaller - falsches Gericht geliefert und erst auf Nachfrage wurde ein neues Gericht dann bestellt. Was dachte man im Service - man isst dann einfach nichts? Und dann auch noch das Gericht nicht zu stornieren und das Teurere abrechnen wollen? Liebes LeBonBon - vielleicht einfach nicht auf Studentinnen setzen, die nicht viel mit guter Küche am Hut haben und etwas Geld in die Hand nehmen und ausgebildete Kräfte einsetzen. Ob ich ein wiederkam Mal komme - das bleibt fraglich.

In ist, wer drin ist… Spaß beiseite - eine wirklich tolle Bar - insbesondere die Bartender!!! Aber auch die Steaks 🥩 sind eine Empfehlung wert. Immer wieder gerne, wenn ich in Mainz bin!!!

Das Essen war erste Klasse , die Getränke auch genauso wie der Service. Sehr großes Kompliment. Das Ambiente ist auch sehr schön und außergewöhnlich. Das einzige was es zu bemängeln gibt es war extrem warm da keine Klimatisierung. Und es gab eine größere Gruppe von Herren die so laut waren das man nicht mehr in der Lage war sich zu unterhalten oder in angenehmer Lautstärke zu essen.

Wir waren am Donnerstag, quasi spontan im Laden! Gefeiert haben wir unser Geburtstagskind! Guter ordentlicher Service, tolle und sehr leckere Vorspeisen! Gute Aperitifs Weine und Cocktails! Alle Hauptgänge top und sehr schön angerichtet! Fazit ist klar, das Le Bonbon in Mainz ist absolut zu empfehlen und wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

Hier gibt es mega leckeres Essen und eine riesen Auswahl an guten Weinen,super freundliches Personal und tolle Musik :-) Also alles was man für einen schönen Abend braucht!!!!!!

Wenn man den Laden betritt fällt als erstes die Inneneinrichtung auf. So eingerichtet findet man sonst Restaurants in Berlin oder London. Das wirkt schon mal gut. Was man dann leider relativ schnell zu spüren bekommt, ist die Lautstärke – einerseits durch die Bar, andererseits durch die anderen Gäste. Gerade wenn es voll ist, kommt allerdings auch der Service an seine Grenzen und so muss man eine Weile ausharren bevor bestellen kann. Die Vorspeisen sind richtig nice, insbesondere die Pommes mit Trüffel und Parmesan. Die Hauptgericht waren jedoch nur bedingt überzeugend: das Steak war leider sehr durchzogen. Das Dessert, die Crème brûlée, war dann allerdings wieder sehr gut. Insgesamt also solide Qualität aber um ehrlich zu sein nicht berauschend. Absolute Empfehlung! Das Essen war absolute Oberklasse, der Service super aufmerksam. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Very good food and preparation indeed. Short menu to have all under control and this is a plus. Staff was very nice and friendly, though two points are hampering my evaluation. Speed is not their strongest point so expect to wait long times, for us was very close to 50 mins and capacity was at 30%. Then, though the meat was extremely good , it was not at the point I have requested it and same for my colleague. I eat at bleu point, if is more cooked is not good for me. At 32 euro per plate (or 37, do not remember exactly) I expect the meat cooked as I request.

Atmosphäre war gut, Cocktails lecker, leider sehr laut, schwer zu reden, wenn voll.

Der Eindruck vom LeBonBon besticht sofort beim ersten Entrée. Getränke waren sehr professionell und qualitativ nahezu perfekt hergerichtet. Der Service scheint jedoch ausgerichtet auf ein Hemdträger-Klientel. Behandelt wurden wir trotz ausreichend finanzieller Möglichkeiten nur im Bereich des unteren Durchschnitts. Sogar sollten wir sofort die Rechnung bezahlen. Schade. Auf einen Hinweis, etwas an Arroganz zu sparen, wurde nur gelächelt. Ernsthaftigkeit und Reife sehen für mich anders aus.

Wir sind öfter hier zu Gast - sowohl zum Essen als auch zum Trinken. Das Essen ist wirklich gut in einer netten Location. Das Barteam geht auf alle Wünsche ein, so dass man seinen indivuduellen Cocktail/Longdrink mixen lassen kann (so denn die Kapazität dafür vorhanden ist). Falls sich hier jemand beschwert über "länger Wartezeiten": Das ist uns auch schon passiert, jedoch mit Ankündigung und direkter Entschuldigung der Geschäftsführung! Corona, Krankenstand, Personalmangel ist ein Problem, mit dem heutzutage jeder Bereich zu kämpfen hat. Ich persönlich bin froh, dass es überhaupt noch jemanden gibt, der abends am Wochenende, mit freundlicher Mine bereit ist zu arbeiten. Und das schaffen dort alle! Auch wenn der Stresspegel sehr hoch sein kann, ist der Service stets vorbildlich! Danke an das Team!

Die Atmosphäre ist recht gut. Das Reservierungssystem ist viel zu komplex, man kann über ein Reservierungssystem buchen oder per Mail, telefonisch und und...so kann es auch zu Doppelbuchungen kommen und man vom Chef dafür angesprochen und zurecht gewiesen wird, das auch wiederholt! Dann bekommt man die Speisekarten, die dann ohne Bestellung wieder vom Chef eingesammelt werden?! Auch die Bedienung war vollkommen überfordert, musste mehrmals an den Tisch kommen und nachfragen, obwohl alles auf dem Zettel notiert wurde. Nach 1 Stunde wurden wir dann aufmerksam gemacht, das bei der Bestellung wohl etwas falsch gelaufen ist und wir das Essen gleich bekommen würden und nochmals gefragt wurden was wir bestellt haben. Das Essen kam dann wiederrum nach weiteren 45 Minuten. Das Essen war gut, aber überschaubar. Beilagen Extrakosten, kein alkoholfreies Weizenbier. Das Restaurant war gut besucht, fragt sich nur warum?! Ich werde nicht mehr dort Essen gehen und kann leider auch keine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Essen war unfassbar gut und schnell. Der Service leider eine absolute Katastrophe. Wir haben 45 Minuten auf die Rechnung warten müssen. Die Kellner total unfreundlich und mit 3-4 Gästen schon absolut überfordert. Sehr schade.

Begeisterung pur. Preis/Leistung wirklich sehr gut. Das Fleisch war Spitzenklasse. Ich komme wieder.
