Moules frites waren Muscheln fast ungewürzt in einer Art Fertig-Gemüsebrühe. Außerdem waren sie nicht richtig warm. Die Gnocchi waren nicht richtig durch. Die Bedienung war freundlich, aber konnte das schlechte Essen nicht wettmachen. Sehr schade, wir hatten uns sehr auf den Abend gefreut.

Top Restaurant mit hervorragendem Service. Wir waren heute zum 2. Mal im Bootshaus essen, dieses Mal mit Freunden. Es hat uns Vieren sehr gefallen. Der Ausblick entweder auf den Yachthafen oder Main genießt man gerne.

Wir waren nach längerer Zeit wieder einmal im Bootshaus und haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Mittagsmenüs war ausgezeichnet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Das Ambiente im Restaurant und die herrliche Lage direkt am Rhein runden den sehr positive Eindruck ab. Wir kommen gerne wieder - hoffentlich in einem dann kürzeren Abstand.

Ein wunderschönes, kleines Lokal direkt am Wasser, in dem man sich sofort willkommen fühlt. Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich zuvorkommend, herzlich und aufmerksam. Besonders berührt hat uns, dass der Chef persönlich an jeden Tisch gekommen ist, um seine Gäste zu begrüßen – das erlebt man heute nur noch selten. Ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen, nicht nur zur Weihnachtszeit absolut empfehlenswert. Lediglich die bellenden Hunde am Nachbartisch haben die ansonsten sehr stimmige Atmosphäre kurzzeitig gestört. Wir sind selbst Hundebesitzer, finden jedoch, dass es zur Rücksichtnahme gehört, sein Tier entsprechend zu beruhigen.

Der Ober, der uns an den vorbestellten Tisch gebracht hat, hat uns anschließend vergessen. Die Ente war sehr gut- aber nicht perfekt. Es gab trockene Stellen.

Beste Entscheidung hier zu speisen. Alles war delikat und der Service ein Träumchen! Besser geht’s nicht! Alles perfekt!

Wir haben einen sehr angenehmen Abend hier verbracht. Das Essen war sehr gut und z. T. auch reichlich. Der Service war schnell, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen war, dass eine Person an einem Zweiertisch nur den Blick auf die Garderobe hatte. (Außer natürlich auf die Begleitung!)

Wir kommen gerne wieder. Es hat alles gepasst. Der Kellner war sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Rindfleisch so gebraten, wie bestellt.

We went there for a light lunch with my parents. Most of the staff were friendly, though one made some interesting comments. The others were friendly, although I found their forced attempts to make us feel special a bit disingenuous. The atmosphere was great, the prices were quite high, and the food was decent. If money is no object, you can have a good and pleasant meal here; otherwise, I'd recommend going somewhere else.

We've been to the Bootshaus several times and keep coming back for one main reason: the food is prepared with dedication, skill, love, and the finest ingredients – and you can taste it in every bite. Yes, that's reflected in the price – but if you appreciate good food, it's worth it. The menu itself offers some very delicious dishes – and sometimes, head chef Lucas Kriesel has even thought of specials outside the menu. Just ask the friendly waitress... Add to that the beautiful ambiance with well-chosen lighting and the fantastic location directly on the Rhine. We're already looking forward to enjoying another delicious meal soon 🤗

Do not recommend. The last visit to the place was far from good. And I actually found the restaurant rather underwhelming. The food was ok when we finally got it, but they made us wait for the order for more than an hour! There were no apologies or explanations till the issue was raised, and even after the head waiter came up, they worded the situation as if we were the ones to apologise. Neither the atmosphere in the restaurant nor the dishes can help the bad aftertaste of the experienced attitude.

The Bootshaus in Mainz is always worth a visit. The excellent kitchen crew produces delicious dishes from high-quality ingredients. All of this is served by cheerful wait staff. While it's not a special offer, quality has its price. Those who want as much as possible for as little as possible are out of place here. The stylish ambiance with a view of the Rhine completes the experience. A little tip for gourmets: Chef Lucas often has special delicacies on offer that aren't on the menu. Just ask the wait staff. Also worth knowing: four-legged friends are welcome and receive free drinks upon request.

Today we had the lunch menu and Vitello tonnato (smoked duck breast, burrata and agnolotti with porcini mushrooms), everything was delicious, excellent service, highly recommended

The food was excellent, truly impressive from start to finish. We also found the prices completely reasonable for what you get. However, the service was a bit odd, not very welcoming, and rather rude when it came to special requests. We found that quite inappropriate. When you're spending several hundred euros on an evening like this, you expect at least high-quality service... only the guy with the blond braid was really good and accommodating! The others were more so-so 😐 We'd love to come back anyway!

We spent the weekend in Mainz and read about the restaurants in Falstaff magazine. The Bootshaus has deservedly received very good reviews. Elegant, unusual, but not overly pretentious. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and we had good conversations with them. The food was perfect. We had the appetizers for two: my husband had the beef roulade, and I had the tagliatelle with fried chanterelle mushrooms. Everything tasted great and was very attractively presented. We will reserve a table there again for next year's BVB away game. Absolutely top-notch!

One of the most lovely meals we have had in Germany this trip. Came here on a rainy Wednesday for lunch, SLIM, our server, took such good care of us and helping to celebrate my husband‘s birthday. The mussels were outstanding and the beautiful wine even better. Thank you so much for making this such a great experience.

Very nice ambiance. We were there for the second time. Excellent service, fresh, good ingredients in the food. It was amazing how tiny raviolini still managed to get their filling. Where in Germany can you get moules/frites? The best hand cheese variation I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying...

This was our first time at the Bootshaus and unfortunately also our last. Very nice location but the service only became attentive after I complained about the food. I had to go to the front of the counter to complain because I had unfortunately been ignored beforehand. The raviolini were not drenched in nut butter as expected but in herb oil and were also hard except for the cut edges. The corn-fed chicken and side dish had to be searched for on the plate and the taste was unfortunately off. Price/performance ratio was unfortunately far from ideal. The service did try to salvage the situation at the end by offering an alternative main course or dessert but that wouldn't have saved the evening. What a shame about such a lovely restaurant.

I never want to eat here again. The service is unfriendly and rude, as if it were provided by part-time students. We ate at an outdoor table, but there were cockroaches. There are also hygiene issues.

Excellent food (pork fillet with morel cream sauce) with a very good wine to match (incognito, Philipp Kuhn from the Palatinate). Accessible I was there in my wheelchair. View of the Rhine. Joshua (great server) was kind enough to lift me into the car. That was the icing on the cake for this dinner outing. I would gladly go back anytime. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The ambiance, right on the water, is truly beautiful and invites you to linger. Unfortunately, the food wasn't impressive. I had oysters with vinaigrette for starters, which unfortunately didn't seem particularly fresh or flavorful. The main course was a large shrimp salad, which also wasn't very flavorful. The service was particularly negative: If you just want a drink while sitting outside on the sun loungers and go to the self-service counter, none of the staff seem to feel responsible. We had to wait over 30 minutes before anyone even took our order. The staff seemed consistently unfriendly and uninspired, almost condescending; unfortunately, a sense of welcome was lacking. We gave the restaurant two chances, but won't be returning.

On a trip to Mainz, we discovered the Bootshaus restaurant. We were taking a stroll along the riverbank and there was this inviting restaurant. It was busy that evening, but we were lucky and got a nice seat by the window. The service was very attentive and friendly; we immediately felt at home. We quickly found what we were looking for on the menu and ordered a delicious dinner. Everything was to our complete satisfaction, and we were happy. 🙂 That's what you should expect after a restaurant visit. Thank you 👍👩🏽‍🍳

We had a wonderful dinner at the Bootshaus Mainz. First of all, it's by no means cheap, but the food was consistently delicious. The service was friendly and polite. The ambiance and the weather certainly contributed to the wonderful dinner. The beef tartare was very good. Burrata was also good, but actually a bit overpriced. The main course was fried zander and rump steak. The zander sounded more sophisticated on the menu than it actually turned out to be. The wine selection was decent. We'll be back.

I can only recommend it. Very good food, friendly service, great location. Not for those on a budget. Prices reflect the quality. That's how it should be.

A super location, we came spontaneous and got a place outside on a picnic table. Not full on a Sunday evening, gorgeous view. We also had wonderful weather. My husband had a typical local dish, "Hand Käse" and I ordered Tagliatelle. The food was disappointing, my pasta was rather strips of thick pancakes, and the other dish was a fast food version of the original. The price paid for the view and location. You would think that they could manage simple food, which wasn't the case. Good that we didn't attempt something more sophisticated. Still worth the experience...just keep your expectations low on the food.

Nachdem der Service den Aperitif über die Hose meiner Frau verteilt hatte bekam ich als Hauptgang ein völlig durchgegartes Stück Filet. Der Ersatz dafür kam als meine Frau bereits mit dem Essen fertig war. Für zwei Personen bekamen wir hierfür ein Dessert gratis. Eine Entschuldigung der Serviceleitung kam nicht. So hatten wir uns einen Abend bei Frank Buchholz nicht vorgestellt.

During our short vacation in Mainz, we spontaneously passed by the boathouse – located right on the Rhine, with a truly beautiful view of the water. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a quick break. We treated ourselves to a piece of cake that was not only delicious but also really fresh. With a cup of coffee and a view of the Rhine, we were able to truly savor the moment. A great place for a little break – we'll definitely be back.

The latest reviews have unfortunately confirmed this… The Bootshaus has clearly lost some of its charm and quality. The food is truly underwhelming (very small schnitzel, potato salad with stale-tasting potatoes), and the price is therefore completely unreasonable. The service is also really not up to par with what the Bootshaus aims to be. Quite unfriendly, slow, and the phone is unanswered. Too bad! We won't be coming back anytime soon.

Essen wie bei Muttern? Geschmacklich ja, aber nach 6 Würfelchen Roter Beete, 6 Himbeeren und 6 Nüssen geht man hungrig nach Hause. Der Preis dafür ist mit 18 EUR völlig überzogen. Leider stimmt hier nur die Lage/das Ambiente mit Blick auf den Rhein.

There were six of us at the Bootshaus today and we had a reservation. The initial service, after we were shown to our table, was quick but unmotivated. The location is beautifully situated by the Mainz marina with a view of the Rhine. There is an indoor and a terrace area. The food selection is very good and appears to be of high quality. The final quality, however, was rather mixed. We had several starters: a burrata, which was tasty but much too small for the €18 it offered for a burrata on salad with truly delicious bread chips; the marinated fjord salmon, which was good; and both Handkäs and Spundekäs, which were both good. The main course consisted of rump steaks, which were also very good; a corn-fed poulard, which was a bit too dry and didn't really impress us in terms of flavor; and an overall delicious tagliatelle in a chanterelle sauce with truffle, which was far too small in portion size. The rump steaks cost €36, the chicken €30, and the tagliatelle €26. Apart from the rump steaks, the food was mediocre at high prices. The service was disappointing. The first drinks arrived quickly, but when we reordered, we had to repeatedly point out that a local beer had been forgotten. After receiving the dessert menu, we were completely forgotten.

We were at the Bootshaus in Mainz for lunch, and unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. The atmosphere is nice, the concept seems appealing – but the service and coordination are clearly lacking. We ordered a bread basket with dip and oysters. The bread basket arrived quite quickly – but only for my husband. My oysters took almost 30 minutes to arrive, even though we were told they would be "right away." In the meantime, the bread basket had already been eaten, the drinks (water and prosecco) were empty, and we sat somewhat lost at the table. The main course – mussels with fries – arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The mussels were okay, served in a vegetable broth, solid in flavor, but not particularly refined. One real shortcoming was the service: Empty plates remained on the table for a long time, and no one came by to clear them. In the end, we placed them on the neighboring table ourselves. We also had to wait quite a long time for the bill. The service was apparently handled by just one person, who was visibly overwhelmed – while other employees retreated or chatted with colleagues in the kitchen. Conclusion: The Bootshaus has potential, but the service urgently needs to be better organized and more present. Even in quieter moments, guests shouldn't feel forgotten. For a restaurant with this level of quality and price, the overall experience was unfortunately disappointing.

A fine treat. The food, wine, ambiance, and service were all top-notch. Dogs are also welcome, with fresh water and ice cubes. I'd be happy to come back.

Stylish venue in a beautiful location in Mainz's Winterhafen with a fantastic view. The food and service were all spot on, especially the value for money. We'd be happy to return. It's a shame we're from far away.

Sehr schön gelegenes Restaurant mit excellenter Küche.

Great location - free parking BUT completely overpriced and even stupid comments. We had visitors who traveled a long way and had booked a table by the window with a view of the Rhine weeks in advance. The table we were assigned in the apparently fully booked restaurant was unfortunately in the far corner. When we asked the staff if a better seat was available, the response was, "Do you see something I don't?" That was a bit rude. The food... extremely well-arranged... the mussels could be counted on two hands - one was even closed - the currywurst was substandard, the fries were probably already on their third trip through the fryer, and the salmon fillet was served with four small potatoes - for 33 euros - well, you don't treat yourself otherwise. In the end, 150 euros changed hands... and they probably also accidentally charged for two beers too many - I only realized that when I got home, my own fault. Our conclusion: a truly beautiful location, but with service that could be improved, and overpriced food that could have been much better. What a pity. We actually wanted to go there again soon with other friends, but we've already changed that. Andreas Kohl

Tisch wurde Tage im Voraus reserviert mit der Bitte um Fensterplatz auf der Rheinseite, bekommen haben wir einen Tisch für 4 Personen ganz hinten) Auf Nachrage wurde sehr unfreundlich reagiert. Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht, die Präsentation der Speisen lieblos und qualitativ Standard. Der Service grenzwertig, Wassergläser kamen nur auf Nachfrage, wurden vergessen. Bei der Rechnung wurde ein Bier zusätzlich für 13 EUR abgerechnet, was wir gar nicht bestellt hatten. Schade, das Ambiente ist toll aber wir können es nicht empfehlen…..ein Restaurant dieser Kategorie sollte sich mehr Mühe geben und nicht nur mit der Lage und dem tollen Ausblick punkten…

The ambiance was great, but everything else was a flop. - The service was simply nonexistent. Even the employees at McDonald's are more efficient and friendly. It seemed as if only certain customers were served in a friendly and courteous manner. - The food was tasteless and didn't live up to the high price.

A restaurant with a beautiful location directly on the Rhine, featuring a lovely outdoor area with a view of Mainz's Winter Harbor. It's a popular destination for cyclists along the Rhine. The food is upscale, and the prices are reasonable.

The ambience is nice - it's hard to spoil that - and the service is lousy; any cheap cafe would be better. I sat at table 205 for 30 minutes today. The waiter ignored me for 30 minutes, but he served two tables away at table 203. I got up five minutes ago. I can recommend table 205 to anyone looking for a free table and not to be served. The waiter is too good to sit there. If there are special conditions for the table, the customers should be informed. That was my very first and definitely last visit to the Bootshaus. Good can be better. And if I want self-service, I go to a self-service bakery. I can't recommend anything here because I wasn't even served. Apparently they're too rich here to serve everyone.

Wir haben vor drei Jahren zur Hochzeit einen Gutschein für das Bootshaus in Mainz bekommen und gehen seid dem mindestens einmal im Jahr dort essen . Es ist einfach wunderschön im Sommer draußen am Wasser zu sitzen . Das Essen ist einfach der Hammer , super lecker von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert!!!! Der Service ist erstklassig, immer freundlich und gut gelaunt. 👍👍👍

Wir haben vor Wochen eine Reservierung für 8 Personen getätigt. Eine Woche vorher wurde unsere Reservierung storniert, man habe nun eine geschlossene Gesellschaft. Was ist das denn für eine Art liebes Bootshaus? Geld regiert die Welt und Gastonome sind käuflich.

Sehr schön an der Rheinpromenade; man wird trotz Vorspeise und Hauptgericht nicht satt wegen der sehr kleinen Portionen, Currywurst und Pommes 16 EUR

Great atmosphere, incredibly expensive; even with the starter and main course, the tiny portions aren't enough to fill you up. Currywurst with fries costs €16.

Nice and informal place to hang out with friends and family. Prices due to location slightly higher than average.

Very nice restaurant on the Main with good food and very friendly staff

Das Restaurant war, als wir ankamen, nur ewig besetzt. Die Kellner, nur sehr junge Männer , meiner Meinung nach alle keine ausgebildeten Kräfte, waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das änderte sich allerdings als das Restaurant voller wurde. Mehrere nachbestellte Getränke kamen einfach nicht mehr an, die jungen Herren wirkten total gestresst. Das Essen war geschmacklich in Ordnung, jedoch sehr übersichtlich. Die Bitte: Wir möchten gerne zahlen, wurde gar nicht beachtet. Nach dreimaligem Nachfragen bin ich zur Theke, selbst das dauerte ewig. Unser Fazit: Was sehr gut begann, endete leider in völligem genervt sein. Schade, eigentlich ein schönes Restaurant an einen schönen Ort in Mainz.

The food and drinks were excellent! The ambiance is beautiful, making you feel like you're on vacation. The service could be improved. Our drinks were initially forgotten, but after reminding us three times, they delivered two more. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we felt comfortable here and would love to come back.

Unfortunately, our repeat visit wasn't a good experience! We waited 1 1/4 hours for our food (never happened before) and received no advance notice. Other guests who arrived much later received their food in about 10 minutes. The wait wasn't worth it either. The menu listed "Tagliatelle in Salmon Cream Sauce," and we were served thin pasta in a puréed pink sauce with a light salmon flavor. When we paid, our comment "we've never waited this long here before" was met with a simple "yes, okay." That's not okay! After that, we were unable to communicate further with the staff. What a shame, one less restaurant on our list!

We visited the Bootshaus Mainz quite spontaneously. The food was very tasty, but the quantity was very small. For the price, we definitely expected more. The food arrived after only five minutes, which surprised us. The ambiance was also rather unspectacular.

Nettes Ambiente und sehr gutes Essen. Bei Rosé-Wein leider keine Auswahl. Service müsste besser werden, da mangelt es an Professionalität. Fehlende Serviette wurde nicht bemerkt, Dessert wurde mit Obst angepriesen, das es garnicht gab. Wein musste mehrfach selbst nachgeschenkt werden.

My opinion. My impression. Always superb and delicious. The location is a dream. The ambiance is very tasteful. The prices are on the high side for my taste.
