Highly recommended, good, home-style cooking, reasonably priced and delicious, with very friendly service. We stopped here for lunch while on vacation. It's nice that there are still country inns like this open for lunch during the week.

Once, I was told a dog was allowed, and I had even been there for lunch. A few weeks later, I was told dogs weren't allowed, and I was rudely asked to leave. Very strange business practices; there are other restaurants in the area where paying customers are treated and served accordingly. In addition, the food offered doesn't offer good value for money, hence the rating of 6- and therefore not recommended at all!

Very good food, my favorite is the meatloaf. But the other dishes are all delicious.

The Wiener Schnitzel was presented very decoratively, but was unfortunately rather modest in its preparation and quality.

The schnitzel was no better for this restaurant than at a snack bar.

Service was ok, unfortunately I have to say that the schnitzel in cream sauce is only equivalent to a frozen schnitzel, the fries were very dry, unfortunately the taste was not a treat for the palate.

We've been living here for so long now and are only a few minutes away from the country inn - but we haven't managed to eat here yet 🥴 Finally we did it and what luck...it was excellent!!! We will probably come more often now 😊

Four of us from Bavaria were at a professional association seminar and discovered the restaurant “Zur alten Mücke” quite by chance. As soon as we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the senior manager outside at the farm. In the restaurant itself we were looked after by the nice blonde waitress Nadine, who made the evening special for us with her incredibly friendly manner. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and prepared with a lot of love. The service was consistently attentive and warm. The conversation with Nadine was particularly pleasant - she took her time and created a great atmosphere with her open manner. Overall, it was a very nice, relaxed evening that we thoroughly enjoyed. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant “Zur alten Mücke” and would be happy to come back if the opportunity arises.

An all-round perfect restaurant experience! Our visit was outstanding from start to finish. The ambience of the restaurant is very appealing and creates a pleasant atmosphere that is suitable for both special occasions and a relaxed meal. The service was exceptionally attentive and professional. The staff was always present without being intrusive and ensured that we felt well looked after at all times.

Last Friday, I enjoyed an excellent lunch with my friend Stefan Schlosser at the Gasthaus Alte Mücke. The dish, pasta with goulash, was simply perfect: tender, well-seasoned pieces of meat in a rich sauce. It was accompanied by a fresh salad, refined with an incredibly delicious dressing – fresh, aromatic, and a real treat. The excellent value for money is particularly noteworthy, as you would pay significantly more for this quality elsewhere. Another highlight was the friendly and attentive server, Verena, who made the stay very pleasant. The cozy atmosphere of the inn perfectly rounded off the lunch. You immediately feel at home here; the rustic decor creates an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable visit. I highly recommend the Gasthaus Alte Mücke. It's definitely a place you'll want to return to – whether for a relaxed lunch or a cozy dinner.

We visited you with the family on Christmas Day. The food was fantastic; the soup was served in a pot at the table, which we thought was great, so everyone could take whatever they wanted and as much as they wanted. The antipasti starter platter was also delicious. The buffet that was offered was amazing; there was something for everyone and it tasted soooo delicious. Whether it was pork fillet wrapped in bacon, pasta in truffle sauce, salmon with spinach, spinach dumplings filled with mountain cheese, goose leg, gratin and everything else that was served was simply delicious. The dessert buffet was also fantastic, the Kaiserschmarrn with apple sauce was a particular highlight. All the other desserts in a glass and the cakes were also delicious. Everyone in our family was full and was simply thrilled. We would also like to highlight the great service; the girls were on the ball, there was never a shortage of drinks and any questions were answered immediately and always with a smile. The request for a vegetarian alternative to the soup was also very thoughtful when two people didn't eat the marrow dumpling soup. We thank the great service team and the kitchen team. Very good food at reasonable prices, very nice service and a nice atmosphere. The salad buffet with beautifully presented salads and several dressings also scored highly. We'd love to come back.

We were invited as guests to the 85th at the end of October. The food at the buffet was positive. It really tasted good. But the waiter was simply an absolute no go. Unfriendly, drinks orders were reluctantly accepted, sometimes even rejected, supposedly not available or with the justification that there was coffee straight away, plates were literally taken away from you at the last bite. But the really worst thing is that you are looking forward to coffee and cake that your relatives have baked. Started at 3:30 p.m. You get 2 small pots of coffee per table without refills. And without having coffee in your cup. If the waiter takes your unused cup away and puts it next to the clean dishes. At 5 p.m. the hostess was asked to finally put the cake together and there would be another party at 6 p.m. A real sacking. Unfortunately, the good food cannot make up for this negative experience. We're definitely not coming back.

Four people spontaneously went to dinner at the country inn during the weekday evening and were seated straight away without having to wait. The service was alone and really on point. No long waiting times for drinks or food. The salad buffet was great and the plates were well filled. We will eat there again on our next visit. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the boss doesn't take the truth too seriously. The story would be too long now. Staff is friendly. Food also tasted good. Unfortunately, due to the incident, we won't be going there anymore.

You can still have really good, traditional food here. Just as you imagine. Everything fresh, schnitzel very tasty and good meat. There is still very good quality here at reasonable prices.

This is a good place to have a leisurely meal. The service was excellent, the food tasted very good. The salad was crisp and fresh. Price performance was very positively surprised. We certainly wouldn't be there for the last time.

We celebrated a family celebration here on Saturday. All wishes were taken into account right from the start: food, decoration and even the opening times were adapted to us. The staff very friendly and competent! We thought of everything without us having to say anything (cutting the cake, preparing the knife for the cake, etc.). Food and coffee, all served in a timely manner! The food itself and the portions were perfect! The room was beautifully decorated and everything was clean everywhere! We can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience and it certainly won't be the last time we've been there. Many thanks to the team!

Went here for “lunch” this afternoon. There was chicken cordon bleu with wedges with dip and salad. Dip very tasty, freshly made with fresh herbs. Also made the wedges myself. Service very friendly. Will definitely come again.

Nice country inn, ambience could be more cozy. Everything is very sterile.

Old inn with good approaches to the “here and now”. I particularly liked that some of the old hokz beams were painted gray. Would like more of it. The food was also very tasty and the salad bar was really delicious

The quality of the food is good and I am also satisfied with the selection on the menu, but unfortunately the portions have become smaller and the prices have risen sharply in some cases, so unfortunately I have to say that the pricing is (still) reasonable. The service has also become thinner over the years; you get the feeling that it's all done by the book here. But the location is very nice and is also very suitable for larger celebrations.

The food is delicious and homely. In any case, the level is much better than before. We like to keep going here. The service is really very good, friendly and attentive. You feel very comfortable there as a guest.

Aus Anlass meines 70 Geburtstages Feier gebucht alle 75 Gaeste waren begeistert vom Essen und dem tollen Service, auch das Preis Leistungs verhaelniss war Perfekt. Selbst in Oberhessen nichts besseres gefunden .Waren heute am 1o.11.2023mit Freunden zum Gänseessen in der alten Mücke,die drei Gänge waren exzellent und sehr schmackhaft, freundlicher Service, bei moderaten Preisen inklusive.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise dort Essen. Nettes Personal, leckeres Essen zu fairen Preisen. Die Toiletten waren sauber. Auch für Kleinkinder waren Babystuhl und Wickeltisch vorhanden.

Wir waren heute zum erstenmal da, und haben direkt für denn nächsten Sonntag reserviert, das Essen ist mega Lecker 😋 😋 , sehr zum empfehlen!! Ich hatte das Schnitzel mit Zwiebeln und Käse überbacken, einfach der Hammer, würde gerne ein Bild hochladen, bekomme es aber leider nicht hin Und ein Kompliment an die Bedienung, sehr freundlich beide Mädels und der Inhaber. 😊

Wir waren "nur" zum Mittagessen dort, daher kann ich zu Zimmern nichts sagen. Der Mittagstisch (Rinderbraten mit Klößen) war super (sagen meine MitfahrerInnen), ich hatte mir etwas bestellt, was ich noch nicht kannte und war überwältigt, was mir die sehr freundliche Bedienung serviert hat. Schaut es Euch an: "Elsässer Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat" 😋😋😋 Die "Alte Mücke" ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr schmackhaft, Mittagstisch, sehr freundlich und kompetentes Personal. Gut besucht, gerade auch von Einheimischen, denn die wissen wo es gut ist.

Bin nicht hier, um das Horel zu bewerten, sondern das Restaurant! Waren heute zum Essen dort, nachdem wir vor 2 Wochen kurzfristig leider keinen Tisch mehr bekommen hatten. Aufgrund der positiven Erfahrungen heute, kann ich nachvollziehen, dass man vorab reservieren sollte. Ich gehöre zu den Frauen, die große Portionen vertilgen und habe hier meine Meister gefunden, grins. Hatte das vegetarische Süßkartoffel-Curry.... megalecker! Der Beilagensalat war auch hammer! Und zum ersten Mal in 54 Jahren habe ich den Teller nicht leer bekommen 😂. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ein Sonnentag, ein tolles Lokal, aufmerksamer Service, gutes Essen, rundum gut, der Landgasthof zur alten Mücke. Allerdings haben wir das Hotel nicht genutzt und auch das Trauzimmer wurde nicht gebraucht.

Wir waren mit einer Reisegruppe zum Essen da und hatten vorab eine Karte zur Menüauswahl erhalten. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Schnitzel Steak Salat und sogar an Vegetarier wurde gedacht. ( Mein Highlight ist die Salatbar, hier kann man den Beilagensalat selber zusammenstellen) Das Restaurant ist hell, sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet, die Bedienung sehr hilfsbereit und geduldig.(Bei einer Reisegruppe nicht immer ganz einfach). Das Essen war reichlich sehr gut und die Preise angemessen. Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert.

Zum ersten Mal beim Schnitzel-Buffet. Die Schnitzel sind relativ klein gehalten, was einem aber ermöglicht, alle Sorten zu probieren. Die Qualität war sehr gut. Die Salat-Theke ist sehr reichhaltig und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Da dieses Schnitzel-Buffet nur einmal im Monat stattfindet, ist eine Reservierung sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir haben am 11.02.23 dort Geburtstag gefeiert und waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Service, das Essen hat wie immer sehr gut geschmeckt, wir können den Gasthof nur empfehlen.

Eine schöne gutbürgerliche Gaststätte. Das Essen ist dort wirklich lecker. Parkplätze sind direkt vor Ort vorhanden oder auch gegenüber. Übernachtung ist dort auch möglich.

Wir waren heute zum Weihnachts-Buffet und sind rundum zufrieden! Die Bedienung war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend, es gab mehrere Vorspeisen - auch vegetarische Alternativen wurden uns angeboten. Das Buffet war reichlich, das Essen schmeckte sehr gut und die Auswahl ließ an keiner Ecke zu wünschen übrig - auch das vegetarische/vegane Angebot war mehr als ausreichend. Top!

Sehr nettes Personal, leckeres Essen, auch als Rollstuhlfahrer kann man in das Lokal, Rampen für die 2 Treppenstufen sind vorhanden und es wird einem geholfen. Auch die Preise sind in Ordnung.
