Landgasthaus zum Auerochsen in Luckau

A truly wonderful, rustic country inn with excellent food and great prices. We were from Magdeburg and immediately felt at home. We highly recommend it.

We got the last beef cheeks with red cabbage and potatoes after the kitchen closed (2:30 PM!!!). It was really nice and tasted excellent! Thanks to the entire team. 😋 Please note: NO card payments!!!

We had a family celebration today with lunch and coffee/cake. The food was okay, but a bit too salty. The location was unassuming but better than expected at first glance. Unfortunately, the conditions were so incredibly unfriendly that it overshadowed the celebration. Several guests were harassed by the condition "if they wanted to take over the place." After coffee, it was made clear to us that they wanted to call it a day, "they don't want to be here until Christmas." I understand that there are opening hours and that they want to call it a day, but if a family celebration with lunch and coffee/cake doesn't fit into your schedule... then don't accept such events. We've never been served so unfriendly, and perhaps the 2021 certificate for exceptional hospitality should be displayed in the dining room.

Nice service. My only criticism is that the food tastes too good, but unfortunately, the plate is eventually empty. I had the pork medallion with pepper sauce. Buttery tender medallions with a perfect pepper sauce.

We were pleasantly surprised, especially by the ambiance. They even allowed us to take our food to go. This was purely for personal reasons. The food was good, and we'll definitely go there again, despite the 50km drive. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Three of us ate here. All the staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The food came very quickly, was delicious, and the portions were almost impossible to finish. Unfortunately, it's a bit off the main road and perhaps a bit overlooked. Everything here is recommended. Next to the country inn, there's a separate entrance to the butcher shop, where there are also two vending machines. You can buy milk, sausage, and cheese there. We were there again in August. And just like the first time, we were very satisfied.

Whenever we visit Luckau, we love to eat here. Super delicious home-cooked food at a reasonable price.

I arrived by bike at 12 noon on July 19, 2025. It was packed. I wasn't turned away!! Despite such a large number of guests, the staff managed to serve excellent food. That's something you have to be able to do. Kudos to the entire kitchen and service staff. I'll be happy to come back.

Meine Gastfamilie aus Spanien, bei der ich ab Juni als Au pair arbeiten werde, hat mich letzten Freitag, an einem sonnigen Nachmittag, in meiner Heimatstadt Luckau besucht. Nach einem ausgiebigen Spaziergang, bei dem ich ihnen die schönsten Ecken der Stadt zeigen konnte, entschieden wir uns, im Landgasthaus zum Auerochsen zu Abend zu essen. Auf der Website war ausgeschrieben, dass sie an diesem Tag länger geöffnet haben, sodass wir uns sicher waren, noch etwas Warmes zu essen zu bekommen. Trotz einer Feiergesellschaft hatten wir freie Platzwahl und suchten uns einen gemütlichen Tisch für vier Personen aus. Ohne lange warten zu müssen, kam auch schon die Kellnerin mit den Speisekarten. Die große Auswahl an Speisen überforderte meine Gasteltern ein wenig, da sie gerne mehrere deutsche Spezialitäten kosten wollten. Kaum gesagt, machte die Küche dies möglich. Als Vorspeise kam ein großer Salatteller, den wir mit großem Genuss verspeisten. Kurz darauf stand auch schon der Hauptgang auf dem Tisch: ein Teller mit unterschiedlichen Fleischsorten, von Rumpsteak über Schnitzel und Hähnchensteak, eine große Schüssel hauseigener Gurkensalat, frische Champignon und Bratkartoffeln. Ich hatte mir ein Steak Au four, mit Würzfleisch überbacken, bestellt, sodass meine Gasteltern auch diese Köstlichkeit probieren konnten. Der Sonnenuntergang färbte den Himmel leicht rötlich und sorgte mit dem warmen Licht im inneren der Gaststätte für ein gemütliches Ambiente. Der Koch nahm sich sogar ein paar Minuten Zeit für uns, sodass er meiner Gastfamilie noch einiges über die deutsche Küche erzählen konnte. Wir unterhielten uns, lachten viel und haben uns trotz der vermeintlichen Sprachbarriere sehr gut verstanden. Meine Gastfamilie war von der deutschen Gastfreundlichkeit und den verschiedenen Köstlichkeiten sehr begeistert. Sie konnte sich gar nicht entscheiden, was ihnen am besten geschmeckt hat, da alles hausgemacht seinen eigenen und super leckeren Geschmack hat. Sollten Sie mal in der Nähe sein, ist ein Aufenthalt im Landgasthaus in Freesdorf ein absolutes Muss!

We spontaneously stopped by the country inn for lunch on a long weekend. There were six of us and we had a variety of dishes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and courteous. Highly recommended.

Our meal was so delicious! It's busy on weekends, but if you don't arrive at 12 o'clock sharp, it won't take long. You should make a reservation, but there's always room for two people (if you're lucky). The chef knows his craft; the meat was juicy, and everything else was delicious, too.

Without knowing about this location and on the way to Golßen and looking for a place to have lunch, we discovered a small sign on the side of the road and followed it. It was exactly the right decision. Once we arrived here, the search for a parking space was quickly completed. We walked purposefully to the restaurant, went in and were greeted very friendly and attentively. We had free choice of seating, but we weren't the only guests. There are also tables outside. We quickly held the drink and food menus in our hands and received extensive information about other daily specials. We ordered two non-alcoholic drinks and two schnitzels with raw vegetables and cucumber salad, once with croquettes and once with fried potatoes. The drinks were served quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the food either and we were very satisfied from start to finish. The schnitzels were not thin and wonderfully juicy. The cucumber salad served here was a new variant for us and very suitable. We also liked raw red cabbage and white cabbage. I knew that the croquettes weren't homemade, but they were well cooked and not greasy. The fried potatoes were tasty. The prices are unbeatable and the toilets are clean. We liked the service. We say thank you.

We found this small but very nice restaurant online and spontaneously decided to go there. And we weren't disappointed...it's right next to a cattle stable, don't worry, it doesn't smell like a stable. There were four of us there and we found it very tasty, you can sit at a table inside or outside. The food is fresh and not frozen...it tastes very tasty. The ambience inside is very nice and the toilets are very clean. Finally, as an addendum, 4 people, 4 drinks, 4 meals,,,,,,,, under 100 euros and that near the Spreewald. Always my pleasure.

For me this is a little insider tip after my first visit! We went there on a Thursday lunchtime without a reservation and barely managed to get a seat. However, a few places became available during our stay, so you can definitely stop by spontaneously. The dishes are home-style: Grützwurst, brawn, meatloaf, schnitzel, burgers...🍔🍲🥘🥣 something delicious for everyone. Starters and desserts 🍨🍦 are also available and at a really good price. Next door at the butcher you can get everything you would expect from a butcher 🍗🍖🥩🥓 and a little more like milk, eggs, bread, meat or egg salad. If you are in the area worth a visit! The inn has a “home office” on Mondays 😉

We were passing through and came across this quaint, beautiful restaurant. Food and service were great. We would definitely come back if we are nearby. There is also a butcher's shop next door and a vending machine where you can pick up various butcher's items.

Went to the Landgasthof zum Aurochsen for the first time today. We immediately felt comfortable and the food was plentiful and very tasty. Service also top. Therefore there can only be one rating: 5 stars. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back.

Discovered by chance on the weekend coming from Berlin after a beach trip. The food was very tasty, really homemade, well seasoned, good portion sizes. I would particularly like to highlight the great side salads and the wonderful cold beetroot soup as a starter. But the main courses were also excellent. It is the selection of dishes that is particularly impressive. It's a great pleasure to see this type of cuisine done so well and with so much love. Someone knows their craft very well and authentically presents the cuisine of their region/homeland. It's nice to see that this is not just offered quickly and as cheaply as possible, but with the necessary quality standards. Really, chapeau! The service/operators, who were also really friendly and simply nice, can be really proud of their concept and their skills. I wish the team all the best and much success with your country inn! After countless attempts, my husband and I finally implemented it today and stopped at the "Aurochsen". The staff is without exception super friendly and we were even able to enjoy an excellent lunch without prior reservation. After a great seasoned meat, we chose the rump steak with braised onions, fried potatoes and salads as our main course. The steak was delicious, cooked medium to perfection and tender. The fried potatoes were thinly sliced ​​and fried crispy, the salads were all delicately seasoned and refined with fresh herbs. Due to the good portion size of the main course, only my husband was able to enjoy a refreshing, creamy lemon yoghurt dish. Highly recommended for those with a sweet tooth 😉. A huge compliment to the kitchen and the entire team! Despite the hectic lunchtime business, we and all other guests were served quickly and friendly. We felt very welcome and will definitely stop at the "Aurochsen" more often now. Thanks so much!

Always happy, we go there again and again and have never been disappointed. You should have time and patience, unfortunately not all guests have that, "good things take time." The staff goes above and beyond and the kitchen is perfect. We're going there again.

Waren Heute da, die Chefin völlig überfordert und mit dem Hinweis, das Sie kein Personal hätte. Das Essen nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht besonders. Haben Gänsekeule mit Rotkraut gegessen. Das Rotkraut war lange aus dem Glas mit Nelken allein im Topf, mehr nicht. Klösse nicht selbst gemacht, Sauce was so eine Gans hergibt ohne zusätzliche Würze.Die Chefin wies nach Bestellung eines Schnaps noch darauf hin, daß der Tisch ab 13 Uhr weiter vergeben ist, das hätte zur Bestellung gesagt werden können. Als die Abrechnung kam wurde Sie a.o.frech, das wir nicht gesagt haben en getrennt bezahlen zu wollen, da sei die Aufgabe des Gastes. Am Ende eines Sie uns noch darauf, das Sie eine Reservierung 15 Personen nicht mehr machen würde. Wir gehen alle Arbeiten und haben wie jeder Mensch viel um die Ohren und uns auf diese Zeit als Familie gefreut zum positiven Erlebnis hat die Chefin nicht beigetragen.

Sind heute mit 24 Leuten zur Motorradabfahrt dort aufgeschlagen. Trotz der Anzahl der Leute bekamen wir schnell unser Essen und es war super lecker! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Das Essen ist vielfältig und schmeckt sehr lecker. Täglich gibt es ein zusätzliches Menü oder eine zusätzliche Vorspeise. Alles ist ansehnlich angerichtet. Die Portionen sind absolut ausreichend. Der Chef und seine Frau sind sehr nett. Die Einrichtung ist schön urig, Sanitäranlagen sauber. Wir empfehlen den Auerochsen weiter und kommen gern auch wieder 😋

Sehr solides Landgasthaus mit gutem Essen, freundlichem Personal und Möglichkeiten zum Einkauf im Hofladen.

Das Essen ist einwandfrei und schmeckt sehr gut. Ich hatte hier einen bürger gegessen, er war einwandfrei und hatte sehr gut geschmeckt da können sich Mal mc Donalds und so Mal ein Beispiel nehmen.

Ein super Koch mit einem super Team an seiner Seite. Das Essen ist immer wieder ein Geschmackserlebnis und der Service ist super nett. Freuen uns schon aufs nächste Mal. 🥰
