Landgasthaus Voltmer in Walsrode

We spontaneously decided to have dinner with three people on a Wednesday evening. The service was very attentive, and the drinks and food arrived very quickly. There was a wide selection of dishes, and the three different meals we ordered were piping hot when they arrived at the table and were very tasty.

We enjoy being guests here! We've been here both as restaurant visitors and at many family celebrations. The grilled meat and the Krakow sausages from the self-service vending machine are simply fantastic. The latest hit is the secret packages in the second vending machine. We had a lot of fun with these today at a barbecue with friends. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary here in September 2025! It was fantastic! The food and the service are simply unbeatable.

The best German restaurant in the Heidekreis district!!!!! The menu isn't very extensive, which is fine, but there should be something for all tastes. Of course, they offer a wide variety of roasts for celebrations upon request. Pre-order is recommended, especially on weekends. The owner is a third-generation chef herself. The service is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

It was okay for a quick and relatively inexpensive dinner—but nothing more. The service was friendly and it came relatively quickly. However, the food was only average. I could have made it at home. I wouldn't describe the ambiance as cozy. Ideal for those who care about putting as much as possible on their plate. That's the only way I can explain the other reviews here.

Good food, great value for money, very friendly service, and helpful answers to questions. A little more attention might increase sales. The acoustics aren't great due to the open space. A larger dessert selection would be nice. Parking is available.

A wonderful restaurant. My father ordered my first steak here when I was 10, and today, at 27, it's still my favorite place. Whether it's English or medium-well, it's simply a dream 🤤 The service is always friendly and very professional; in my experience, there's nothing to complain about here. We were at the Landgasthaus Voltmer for a team celebration. We had a generous helping of schnitzel with croquettes, fried potatoes, various sauces, and a very fresh salad. Kudos to the kitchen; everything was a feast for the palate. Fresh and perfectly prepared. Kudos also to the service; attentive, friendly, and prompt. We look forward to our next visit.

Very attentive and friendly service. Totally child-friendly – and they provided drawing materials to pass the time. Very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere with unobtrusive, simple decor – you could occasionally hear laughter and other conversations. You don't feel watched at all with children. There's also a very cozy, shady beer garden at the back. A small playground (tower and swing) is right around the corner. We left the safari park because we were advised against the evening buffet there. It was a very good decision to go to the Landgasthaus Voltmer. The portions were generous and very tasty. The children loved the potato pancakes, and the schnitzels (even XXL, not just large) were, as advertised, very good. The large jacket potato with mushrooms was good, and the aromatic (garlic) sour cream tasted very good and homemade. 😋 The menu is straightforward but sufficient to ensure that everyone will find something. There are also monthly specials. An additional dessert would perhaps be the only thing that would be good. But here, too, there are changing specials on the menu in addition to the ice cream. We'll definitely be back sometime. Definitely recommend a little detour. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🍴 We ate plenty, drank, and had hot drinks. The price was very reasonable. 👍🏼

We happened upon it by chance during our vacation and were absolutely thrilled. The food was delicious, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be back ❤️❤️

During our weekend stay in the Lüneburg Heath, we ate at this inn several times. The inn looks very appealing, both inside and out. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food is simply delicious (we enjoyed the Heidschnuckenknipp (a kind of savoury dish), but other dishes were also very tasty), and the "Rat Killer" is simply fantastic! If we spend another weekend in the heath, we'll definitely stop by for the Heidschnuckenknipp (a kind of savoury dish)!

We ate there on two evenings and were always served very friendly and quickly. We had green asparagus on a baked potato with sour cream. Very tasty and fresh, the portion size was just right for a woman. Once we had a farmer's breakfast, a large portion. It tasted good, but very fatty. Once we had asparagus with ham and boiled potatoes. It was super fresh and the asparagus was very good. Please leave out the Lukull hollandaise sauce. It ruins the good food. (It's a matter of taste, of course) 😄 I would eat there again anytime.

The food was good, the service was friendly but somewhat disorganized. The dining room was a bit cold and very noisy. However, the price/performance ratio was good. I'd still gladly eat there again.

First off, I don't want to comment on the food, service, or ambiance here. The reason for my review is as follows: On Monday and Tuesday, I sent an email via the contact button, which, by the way, I received, to make a table reservation (for 8 people). I also tried calling approximately 8 times. I couldn't reach anyone by phone on either day, and there was no response to my emails. I don't understand why you offer the option on the website if you don't follow through. On Wednesday at 6:00 PM, I finally got through to them by phone, but the woman was either unwilling or unable to give us a table. Dear country innkeeper, this is no way to treat your customers. We ended up finding a table at Anders at short notice.

I had a "Chancelled" schnitzel with fried potatoes. A very generous portion (2 schnitzels + an estimated 200g of sautéed onions and two fried eggs). Unfortunately, the onions on the breaded schnitzels were so overcooked that they weren't crispy anymore; the amount of onions was way too high and they were relatively bland, with no fresh herbs. This could have been compensated for by the side dish, but I got flavorless but very greasy fried potatoes. On the other hand, the fries my neighbor at the table had were clearly oversalted. Perhaps the kitchen was having a bad day, but I'm not giving this restaurant a second chance.

Restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining options. A cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Parking can be a bit tricky, so reservations might be a good idea during rush hour.

I was on my way to Soltau on Sunday evening. A spontaneous visit. My overall impression: Excellent cuisine, my Jägerschnitzel tasted amazing. Very attentive service. I'll be back in a week.

Rustically furnished country inn. Just as you imagine. The terrace is also beautiful and inviting, ideal for those who like to enjoy their meal or beer (or both) outside. The food is always excellent. The schnitzels are always a delight and the fried potatoes are second to none. The waitresses are always friendly and respond to any special requests. Unfortunately, there are often events on the weekend (wedding or wedding anniversary, confirmation, birthday, divorce...) and then you can't get a place. Ergo: it doesn't hurt to call ahead to see if there's space. But Aunt Martha is always worth a visit and if I have the chance, I take it!

Good home cooking, good portions and it tasted good too. What more could you want? The waitresses were also very friendly. Only the ambience is a bit ambivalent between a rustic inn and modern interior design.

Very good German cuisine, especially in the asparagus season

We went there after visiting the bird park and it was the best restaurant we could have found. Nice village atmosphere. Super tasty food at a good price. The young gentleman who served us was so nice and funny. We can absolutely recommend it to everyone.

With the family after visiting the Weltvogelpark Walsrode, we discovered this restaurant. In the idyllic inner garden we were immediately assigned the reserved table and the cards were handed out to us. The choice of food was large and even requests that were not on the menu were fully addressed. Dishes quickly at the table, super tasty! A successful evening that left you wanting more.

I can't confirm the good reviews. The service was limited to the bare essentials. Someone came to hand us the menu and take the drink order, bring the drinks and take the food order as well as bring the food. There were no inquiries, which surprised me because of the large number of free places. The quality of the food was okay (the baguette was discounter quality), but the poultry was not completely cooked. When the service staff was made aware of this when paying, all they said was, "We should have asked about that now and then." Unfortunately not recommended!

The newly opened snack bar is an imposition! Today, July 19, 2024, I ate a curry pan with fries and it was a complete disaster. Fries were warmed up according to the waiter because of a lot of work and the curry pan was fried pieces of currywurst with a few fried onions and some cold sauce. Price €8.00!! And operators and staff are absolutely unreasonable. Never again!!!!

Well, the young red-haired gentleman who served us was probably upper class! Friendly, clear communication, an open ear for orders, asked at exactly the right moment whether we needed anything and yet not uptight or buttoned up. Simply incredibly nice and friendly!

If you are in Walsrode or near it, you should go to “Aunt Martha” (Landgasthof Voltmer) for dinner. We had reserved a table for 2 people. All tables are arranged very clearly in the room. Lots of space between the tables, which we, who are from Bad Bentheim, are not used to. The food: mega, mega delicious!!! My husband had 1 soup cup of homemade tomato soup with garlic and the rump steak “House style” with braised onions, mushrooms, herb butter and fried potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. I had a large plate of onion soup with gratinated cheese baguette and a large colorful salad plate with fried mushrooms and 2 slices of baguette bread. I have rarely eaten something so delicious!!! At the end we would like to have a night cap. The friendly young waiter listed various options and ultimately recommended this one to us "Heath spirit". We chose this one and didn't regret it! All in all, it was a perfect evening thanks to a highly motivated, very friendly (very natural and honest) service staff and a very good chef. We would be very, very happy to come back when we are in the area again

We spent a few days in Walsrode and looked for a restaurant online from home. My choice fell directly on the Landgasthof Voltmer, where I reserved a table directly online. This went very smoothly. The guest room is comfortably furnished, which encouraged you to linger longer. The waitress (Jessica) was very friendly and extremely accommodating. You immediately felt at home. The food was always very good and inexpensive (we were there three times within five days). It is definitely recommended. Many thanks to the waitresses and the excellent chef.

Günstiges, sauberes 3 Sternezimmer in Gästehaus gehabt. Kein Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer, aber sonst Alles völlig in Ordnung bei sehr günstigem Preis. Ein Tipp, so war es zumindest bei meiner Buchung: wer auf der Hotelseite bucht, bekommt das Frühstück kostenfrei dazu.

Wir haben dort unsere Hochzeit gefeiert und es war wunderschön. Das Essen hat allen sehr gut geschmeckt. Service war sympathisch und freundlich. Absolut zu empfehlen 😊

Hallo zusammen also wir haben gestern am 22.09.2023 geheiratet und haben dort mit unseren Gästen gefeiert in einem abgetrennten Bereich das fanden wir super das Personal hat sich super gut um uns gekümmert kein Glas war leer, immer wieder aufgefüllt wirklich gut. Über das Essen müssen wir nicht reden, es war der Hammer. Es war super lecker und wir haben immer wieder Nachschub bekommen, sodass alle unsere Gäste mit dickem Bauch wieder gegangen sind. Das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis war super. Ich kann jedem empfehlen dort essen zu gehen, egal ob mit Partner oder Familie oder eine große Feier. Wir werden wieder hingehen zu einer großen Feier. Sehr leckere Schnitzelvariationen. Auch die Champignons und die Zwiebelsuppe sind sehr zu empfehlen.
