This place is a hidden gem! Ever since I discovered it, I just can’t stay away — I bring my friends and family here almost every week. Their weekly changing menu and weekday lunch specials are always creative and delicious. They also have special themed events and menus from time to time, which are always something to look forward to! The service is wonderful too — warm, genuine, and welcoming. Every visit here feels like dining with friends. Highly recommended!

The food tasted great; ⚠️ however there is a clam shell mixed in our tuna-tartar… which I find quite unacceptable. We didn’t order any clam dishes, so this clam shell must’ve come from someone else’s order. Raising serious concerns about the food handling process. Luckily it’s young people who chewed on this clam shell, imagine if it’s an eldest… it could’ve break their tooth. Or if people who have allergic to clam chewed on this shell that wasn’t supposed to be in the tuna dishes! In the end, all we received was a simple “sorry” for this incidents and nothing more. ⚠️ As I mentioned, put aside this issue, the food was great, the bread was done right, I barely eat those pre-meal bread lol, but I enjoyed the bread here. Thunfisch tartare was a little salty, but I do love the fragrances of the soy bean sauce. Pasta was amazing, flavourful and nice texture. Fish is fresh and cooked well, the veg is a little overcooked. The Creme brûlée was crazy good; especially the homemade vanilla ice cream on the side, one of the best vanilla ice cream I’ve had. The strong essence of lemon in creme brûlée is very refreshing. ——— Regardless, still think that food concern issue that was mentioned should’ve been handled more appropriately. A simple sorry solve no shit.

The value for money isn't that great, but the taste is relatively good for Germany. For some reason, I couldn't order anything from the regular menu, which is strange.

From the very first bite, this dish completely blew me away. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the truffle flavor was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced not overpowering, just indulgent. Every bite melted in my mouth, and the creamy, earthy notes made it unforgettable. I’ve tried truffle pasta in many places, but this one stands out above the rest. Hands down, the best I’ve ever had worth every penny and definitely a must-try!

We have been regular customers for 6 years now, since the opening of this wonderful establishment. I do not want to write anything about the taste of all the dishes - this is not necessary. We were there on Saturday evening and were more than satisfied. We had a fish carpaccio for starters, which was truly delicious, followed by pasta with lobster, which was simply delicious. The service was also very friendly and accommodating; all in all, a very successful evening and highly recommended.

Wir waren seit März bereits drei Mal im Lancora – und jedes Mal war es ein traumhaftes Erlebnis. Das Essen ist einfach herausragend: höchste Qualität, feinste Zutaten und eine Zubereitung, die man selten findet. Besonders begeistert hat uns das Dreierlei vom Fisch, die Trüffel-Spaghetti als Zwischengang und natürlich die große Fischplatte mit Salzkartoffeln und Spinat – alles auf den Punkt, herrlich frisch und voller Geschmack. Man schmeckt sofort, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gekocht wird – der Fisch ist extrem frisch, die Aromen perfekt abgestimmt. Auch der Service ist top: sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Personal, das den Besuch jedes Mal zu etwas Besonderem macht. Für uns ist Lancora längst zum Stammrestaurant geworden – wir können nicht genug bekommen! Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für alle Fischliebhaber und Genießer.

5 stars – A culinary highlight in Bad Homburg We have been to the Lancora three times since March - and each time it has been a wonderful experience. The food is simply outstanding: the highest quality, the finest ingredients and a preparation that is rarely found. We were particularly impressed by the trio of fish, the truffle spaghetti as an intermediate course and of course the large fish platter with boiled potatoes and spinach - everything to the point, wonderfully fresh and full of flavor. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with passion - the fish is extremely fresh and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The service is also top: very friendly, attentive staff who make the visit something special every time. Lancora has long since become a regular restaurant for us - we can't get enough! Unreserved recommendation for all fish lovers and connoisseurs.

Been there several times and brought a larger group to the restaurant this time. Regretted already when ordering cocktails. Waitress was short tempered and brought wrong drinks. Champagne was out after 2 glasses. Food was good but overpriced, especially the Dover sole. My wine was off, but they insisted my taste buds were the reason, even though 3 of my friends had a sip. The restaurant was busy and we all felt as if we were not very welcome.

Aufgrund der tollen Bewertung waren wir hier. Etwas enttäuscht waren wir. Ohne dass man etwas gefragt wurden, kam der Kellner mit einem riesengroßen Thunfisch an und empfahl ihn. Eine Karte haben wir nicht erhalten. Die Empfehlungen Carpaccio vom Lachs und Rape in Tomatensoße haben wir angenommen. Das Carpaccio war viel zu dick geschnitten und überhaupt nicht angemacht. Der Rape war vom Olivengeschmack total überlagert. Außerdem war der Fisch gegen die Faser falsch geschnitten. Wir werden wohl nicht mehr kommen.

There were three of us there. The service was nice, the atmosphere pleasant. We weren't impressed with the food. We had the lobster menu and spaghetti with shrimp. Unfortunately the spaghetti had more squid and mussels and only one shrimp. This wasn't what we expected. The noodles in all dishes were undercooked and too hard. The lobster didn't taste good. At prices that are similar to a gourmet restaurant, the taste is missing. We were disappointed. We enjoyed the dessert. Lobster is definitely different.

We visited this restaurant and loved it! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and you can feel that the staff puts a lot of passion into every detail. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We particularly liked the truffle pasta - the taste was simply exceptional and you could tell that only fresh ingredients were used. The interior creates a harmonious atmosphere in which you can enjoy spending time with your loved ones or alone. The music subtly complements the overall picture. Wunderbar! Visiting only once decided to dedicate a whole week’s evenings to this restaurant. A real taste of Italy with few local peculiarities - btw Pino Grigio (local one) is amazing! I ordered a lunch course at an Italian restaurant located behind City Hall. A full dish of savory bread, olive oil, and cheese-covered tomatoes, steak and salmon served before the meal. The main dish of pasta. Dessert, including tiramisu and ice cream, was generally delicious and the portion size was just right. The interior, which was modeled after a ship, was unique, and the bathroom was especially surprising. The staff's service was very friendly.

Dear Fulvio, dear L'ancora team. We, that is my mother and I, would like to thank you for this unique evening on Friday. From the first to the last second we felt incredibly comfortable with you. Our choice very quickly fell on the 4-course fish menu. Even with the starter I had to fight back tears, I was so happy, my mother felt the same way. And that continued until dessert. All 4 courses were prepared to perfection. And the service was also perfect, really nice people who were attentive at all times but not intrusive and without any noticeable rush. The ambience and furnishings in this restaurant are also really unique, you have to see and experience it. Thank you very much again and we will definitely see each other again!

Ein wunderschöner Laden, dessen Name sich in der kompletten Einrichtung widerspiegelt, STILVOLL ist hier mit Absicht groß geschrieben. Das Essen ist geschmacklich HERVORRAGEND und die Gerichte werden schön angerichtet. Der Inhaber des Ladens ist sehr sympathisch und gibt alles, um den Wünschen des Kunden gerecht zu werden. Wir haben die Taufe unserer Tochter bei Fulvio gefeiert und ausschließlich Komplimente bekommen. Es war einfach PERFEKT von A bis Z.

Nice italian restaurant somewhat hidden behind the town hall with a beautifully designed outdoor area... Courteous and friendly service, good food and drinks selection, wide selection of wine/champagne... Had oysters as a starter...the main course, the grilled monkfish was very manageable, but tasted good..Dessert also chocolate oufle.. The Prosecco Rose was great and well chilled.. A visit here is definitely recommended!

Those in the know say that Frankfurt Airport is de facto the largest fishing port in Europe (it's true, it's the largest hub for fresh fish). L'Ancora in Bad Homburg is THE restaurant to experience (especially taste!) what that means. Big compliments to Fulvio and his team: no one in Frankfurt can keep up with you - and you also have that Italian family flair! Legendary! Encore l'Ancora!

Excellent fish: I had already ordered a mixed starter plate with salmon tartare, tuna and other delicacies with the restaurant owner. The starter was to die for! For the main course we chose various fish dishes from the menu, all of which tasted excellent. Great team: The team at L'ancora is simply great. Wonderful ambience, excellent friendly service, super delicious food: mixed starter platter, lemon risotto, Mediterranean swordfish and sea bream, plus an excellent Sauvignon from South Tyrol. Afterwards a homemade cassata at its finest and a perfect espresso.

Had a very enjoyable experience here - the seafood variety on the menu is great. I recommend the four course fish menu (which in our case included the tasty tuna steak and the carpaccio starter which were particularly good). The atmosphere is pleasant and the wash rooms are really clean and well kept. The portion sizes are a bit small for the price in my view, but the taste is very good. Happy to return.

The restaurant is worth a visit. We were there twice and were mostly satisfied. Unfortunately I still have to make deductions. Not all dishes are so outstanding that they justify the price of a visit for two. You can hardly get away with less than 150 euros here for two people, including starters, drinks and tips. The side dishes are limited, so you won't be full for long. The fish is really very good, but the side dishes are unfortunately neglected in terms of taste. My dessert was not up to par with the rest of the dishes. You definitely have to step it up a notch. But if you are a fan of good fish, you can definitely try this place. I would have liked to give it 3.5 stars. Since this is not possible, I give it a half-hearted 4 stars.

L'ancora is now one of my favorite restaurants. Excellent food made with a lot of love (yes, you can taste that too), relaxed yet stylish and sophisticated atmosphere, very nice service lady, large wine selection, comfortable high chairs, tasteful decoration. A perfect choice for all fish and seafood lovers.

Ein sehr herzlicher und aufmerksamer Chef, auch das Personal ist freundlich und ebenfalls sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen ist frisch und sehr gut und wer frischen Fisch mag ist genau richtig hier. Klasse finde ich auch, dass das Wasser keine ewig lange Reise hinter sich hat, sondern aus dem Taunus kommt.

Ich war diese Woche im L`ancora Fischrestaurant mit meinem Freund essen. Wir wurden sehr zuvorkommend während unseres Aufenthaltes behandelt. Es gab zahlreiche Tagesempfehlungen. Die gereichten Gerichte waren hervorragend zubereitet. Alles hat wirklich sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch der dazu empfohlene Wein hat bestens zum Essen gepasst. Wir werden das Restaurant auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen.

Abgesehen von dem hervorragenden Essen, ist hier auch das Ambiente toll. Man fühlt sich immer sehr willkommen. Sowohl die Bedienung als auch der Chef sind sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Alles in einem bei weitem das beste Restaurant.

Tutto molto buono, un altro ristorante da aggiungere nella mia lista dei ristoranti in cui andare se sono in zona. Sono molto gentili e parlano anche italiano! Si trova proprio all'inizio della via centrale ed avendo l'hotel attaccato alla stazione in 5 minuti a piedi si arriva comodamente. Consiglio anche i dolci.

Ein Restaurant wie ich es liebe - Top Speisekarte - Top Bedient - hier gibt es 100 %. Wir haben uns super Wohl und Wert geschätzt gefühlt. Immer sehr Aufmerksam angesprochen. Das Essen - absolut Top. Preis-Leistung passt. Wer billig essen will, ist hier der falsche Gast. Wir kommen wieder....

Nach inzwischen drei Besuchen - als Paar, zu viert mit Freunden und als Familie mit neun Personen - bekommt das L'ancora eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung. Qualität der Speisen und Getränkeauswahl sind top, der Service ist entspannt und freundlich und die Preise sind fair. Atmosphäre im Lokal ebenfalls sehr schön, modern aber nicht kühl. Highlight war eine gemischte Vorspeisenplatte für Vier mit Fisch und Meeresfrüchten - grandios!

Empfehlung in HG. Die Auswahl an Fischgerichten ist vorbildlich. Hatte Tunfischtatar und Schwertfisch. Sehr lecker!

Wirklich hervorragendes italienisches Fischrestaurant! Diverse Vorspeisen, Fischplatte mit Pasta aglio olio, Nachtisch, Rosé aus den Marken: alles superlecker. Darüberhinaus ein sehr herzlicher sowie angenehmer Service. Schönes Restaurant mit Topküche. Ich komme wieder...

Essen war gut aber die Portion könnte bei den Preisen doch etwas umfangreicher sein. Drei halbe Drillingskartoffeln als Beilage zu einer Fischplatte zum Preis von 31 Euro pro Person ist echt mickrig.

Fish restaurant, Italian style. Comfortable and easy, home style approach. Some plates are really good, such as tuna tartare. Some are quite good, like lobster spaghetti or saint jacques. Interesting wine list. Overall a very nice place in a small lovely city. Will visit them again.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal mit gehobenem Ambiente, tollem Service und ausgezeichnetem Essen. Dazu eine ausgefallene Karte. Dass die Oriechette dann aus waren, war schade, aber nicht so schlimm. Wir kommen wieder. Allein der Limoncello (aufs Haus!) ist einen erneuten Besuch wert. Einziges Manko: Es gibt keine glutenfreie Pasta. Vielleicht noch nicht?
