We were there yesterday with seven people and two dogs to celebrate our daughter's birthday and, as always, were very satisfied. The food was delicious, the service was attentive...even though the place was packed and we weren't the only large group there, we didn't have to wait long. It was a perfect birthday. Thanks to the Lagom team.

The restaurant has a beautiful water view from the outdoor terrace. The service is very attentive, friendly, fast, and helpful. The food was amazing! Everything was freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and visually appealing! Definitely a recommendation ❤️

We went to Lagom on the recommendation of a local from Kiel, without a reservation. The service immediately arranged a table on the terrace. The food is sensational, with a variety of side dishes served in separate bowls. We each had a fish dish (garlic chicken, fish curry), and both dishes and the side dishes were delicious! For us, the best restaurant on the Kiellinie 😋

One of the best restaurants in Kiel, with consistently surprising creations. It may be a bit more expensive, but the emphasis is on regional cuisine. The drinks are also highly recommended.

The location on the fjord is, of course, wonderful. However, the restaurant's interior could use a little more care. There are some very unkempt corners.

Great location, a perfect view from the terrace over the Kiellinie to the fjord, and excellent food. Unfortunately, the service wasn't entirely consistent: initially extremely friendly and engaging, later becoming somewhat disinterested and sloppy, thus deducting one star. Nevertheless: highly recommended!

Test year 2025 (including December 2024) I've been there 4 times. Always friendly, attentive, very good food (open kitchen, no mice in sight, no joke!). Hopefully the restaurant will continue to be a success. A real asset to Kiel.

We were completely satisfied. Excellent food, dogs welcome, very friendly service, and a generally pleasant, well-kept, maritime, and casual atmosphere. There's also wheelchair access. And all this on the waterfront, the beautiful side of Kiel. What more could you want? We'll be back.

A nice little restaurant in Kiel on the waterfront with traditional food and a lovely, bright, and pleasant atmosphere both inside and out. Despite some gratuitous oversights by the waiter, overall we ate well.

There were two of us who visited the restaurant, one had fish with mash and one had rack of lamb with rosemary potatoes. We booked at short notice the same evening. Good wine recommendations from very service-minded staff. The fish dish and mash were good but a bit strange combo with the mash that was recommended. Unfortunately, the meat (rack of lamb) was dry and tasted a bit off (also the potatoes) and the red wine and chocolate flavor was not good either. It was also strange that the rack of lamb came without bones. It felt a bit like they wanted too much in exciting flavors without reaching all the way. Nice environment at the restaurant!

The food was generally quite good, except for one side dish that didn't meet our expectations or was not what was listed on the menu. We were annoyed by the service, who responded to our feedback with a shrug.

Of the four main courses, three were good, while two desserts were less than recommended. The service seemed unprofessional, and the ambiance in the restaurant itself was quite okay, but our large side room was rather spartan (except for the view of the fjord, of course).

Unbelievable. The restaurant should be closed. When asked about accessibility, the manager, obviously extremely annoyed, replied that there's a ramp at the back of the restaurant. If you can't get there logistically, you're out of luck. I'm appalled.

The view from the terrace is magical, and the food is fantastic! I highly recommend any version of the smørrebrød! Vegan options are also catered for, which is fantastic!

Interesting restaurant, great location, beautifully decorated, the ceiling design is particularly noteworthy. The tables are very close together, giving the place a canteen-like feel. The service is very friendly and attentive. The starters tasted very good. However, we had to wait a really long time for our main courses; the kitchen couldn't keep up with orders; this definitely needs to be improved! There were four of us. And only one dish was truly excellent: the ox cheeks, truly divine. The side dishes were delicious. Although the potato gratin was cold, the waiter responded immediately and brought a warm one. The rump steak was okay, and the sauce was excellent. The roasted wild boar loin was very, very firm; you had to work hard to cut the meat, and your teeth were hard to work with... what a pity...! We'll give you a second chance; perhaps today was an exception due to the high number of visitors. We would be delighted if we were all happy with our meals on our next visit.

That was nothing... We waited far too long for the food, to the point where we had to ask if we could still get it. The food itself wasn't okay either; some of the meat was still raw, apparently because they had to rush it. The Lagom was packed, too full for the number of staff and kitchen employees. Apparently, no one could keep up with the sheer number of guests. I was really disappointed and won't be doing that again anytime soon.

A very beautiful place and a great restaurant! I spontaneously got a table and spent a wonderful evening overlooking the fjord. The service was attentive, truly warm, and truly fantastic. The menu made it difficult to choose—I would have loved to try almost everything. The fact that the portion size can be adjusted is a nice touch, and I really enjoyed it. Highly recommended! The food was home-cooked and better. The view of the fjord from the terrace is beautiful, even for former Kiel residents. The service was very good. The dishes are separated and can be easily arranged for those with allergies. Extras cost extra. But the culinary delight is worth it. We'll be back.

In July 2025, we held a party with 60 guests in the club room next to the main restaurant. The room has a fantastic view of the fjord and is also equipped with a bar, a lounge area, and a terrace. The Lagom team handled everything very professionally: from the planning, the timely and meticulous execution, the high-quality, delicious food, which was always replenished in the right quantities on the buffet, to the information and coordination during the party. The service was friendly and attentive to all of the guests' wishes. In short: we would love to celebrate here again!

Service zwar manchmal etwas überfordert aber nett und überwiegend aufmerksam. Ich würde das Restaurant in Kiel sowohl geschäftlich als auch privat wieder besuchen.

We have enjoyed dining at Lagom several times and celebrated our wedding there last month. Thanks to the special location (including the hall with a window front overlooking the Kiel Fjord, as well as the adjacent bar and outdoor terrace), the professional organization, the high-quality food, and the excellent service, we had a successful celebration! We always enjoy dining and spending pleasant hours at Lagom!

Very friendly service and great food!

My friend from Ravenna (Italy) was absolutely thrilled. That doesn't happen very often outside of Italy, though. My husband and I were very impressed from the start. We moved to the coast three years ago. In southern Germany, this quality, in any sense, is almost nonexistent anymore. And when it is, it's at prohibitively high prices. I recommend the restaurant to all my friends and acquaintances, and I go there myself whenever I get the chance. Thank you for EVERYTHING!

We spent a very pleasant evening with friends enjoying truly excellent food, especially the buttery tender ox cheek. The service could have been a bit more prompt, but that didn't detract from the overall experience. We'd be happy to return!

The food was very good, and there were some vegan options, but everything was overly seasoned. The prices are quite high; with a main course, you have to choose a side dish separately and pay €6. The smørrebrød consists of two large, thick slices, is very thickly topped, and tastes good (except for the over-seasoning). It's preceded by some bread with lemon butter. The salad is large and can also be eaten alone. The 0.5L beer comes in a large beer mug, the cocktails are a bit small, and there are no quantities listed on the menu. The bathroom is beautifully designed with lots of wood. However, there was very thin toilet paper, no paper towel holders, and no towels for a while (despite informing the waitress). Given the prices, I expect more. All in all, we were still satisfied.

Lagom is a lovely restaurant for meeting friends or dining with a larger group. The large rooms with their many tables unfortunately give it a somewhat cafeteria-like feel and are also relatively noisy. But at the same time, it also has a certain flair. The view of the Kiel Fjord is, of course, fantastic. The menu is designed so that you can put together a meal from various components. There are many different sandwiches, which are sufficient on their own, or you can order side dishes. It's also possible to create a main course with appropriate side dishes. This is also great for sharing, which I would recommend, as the portions are all very large. And then the price is also worth it, and it's completely justified. We had many different dishes with eight people, and everything was very, very tasty. Only the fried potatoes could have been crispier. The service is excellent! Fast, friendly, and competent without being intrusive. Really good.

The food was all delicious! We had both vegan and meat dishes, as well as smørrebrød. It's worth trying the menu from start to finish. The prices are a bit higher, but Lagom is a great restaurant for special occasions.

Alles war sehr lecker, ob Tageskarte oder Karte, ob Fisch oder Fleisch. Ambitionierte Küche mit Qualität. Der Platz auf der Terrasse war nicht nur bei sommerlichem Wetter ein Plus. Tolles Team, aufmerksam und unkompliziert. Es war sehr angenehm und authentisch.

Omg! This place is delicious!!! The fish and broccoli with almond butter (which was actually just almonds haha) was amazing! -1 star due to me ordering tap water and clarifying multiple times that it was free and being told yes. Then got charged €3.50! Very deceptive and waste of money since I wasn't even that thirsty!

The staff was super friendly and accommodating...great. The chefs...superb food. We had the recommended fish soup, among other dishes...great, 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟. Keep it up!

Die Smorrebrod Auswahl ist bemerkenswert und ein ziemliches Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Von den Variationen ( 6 verschiedene , derzeit 33 € ) wurden wir zu zwei gut gesättigt, eine sehr leckere Auswahl mit sechs unterschiedlichen Geschmacksrichtungen. Gut organisiert die online Reservierung ( nicht für die Terrasse mit Fördeblick möglich ) , aber empfehlenswert, das Lagom ist zu Recht gut besucht. Netter, flotter Service, schöner Blick, modern rustikal gehaltenes Interieur . Durchaus empfehlenswert.

Highly recommended. We were allowed to bring our dog, and parking was no problem at all. From the incredibly friendly service to the incredibly delicious smørrebrød to the dessert that was to die for, we absolutely loved our visit to Lagom. That's how it should be! Here the boss can learn a lot from his staff in terms of friendliness! When we asked if we couldn't have the table we had reserved a long time in advance at the window because there were still two tables available, we received a curt and relatively energetic "No, they are reserved." When she said that no one was there yet and therefore no one knew that the table had been reserved for them, the only response was "But me!" The menu is distributed over a card that is brought to the table and notes in various places in the restaurant - above the food counter and to the left of the entrance (confusing). You are addressed as Du (you have to like it). You put the food together yourself. Each side dish €6! No matter whether potatoes, vegetables or other side dishes (expensive). For ox cheeks solo with sauce €22! Mashed potatoes taste good, but sticky. There were no small salads at all and for dessert (ice cream) there was a choice of vanilla and chocolate - that was it. First of all, there is a greeting from the house, which tasted very good. But you then have to use the cutlery and plates for your main course. The request for a new plate was also not responded to. The answer was “We continue to use the plates here”. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the quality of the food was very good! Overall, for me, the overall concept here is not right. On the one hand, good food is offered at an expensive price, but on the other hand, guests' wishes are not taken into account at all and the ambience reminds me more of a canteen. For me and my companion, there are plenty of other very good restaurants in Kiel with high-quality food, where the atmosphere is much more pleasant! Cost for 2 people: 2 x ox cheeks with 1 side dish each, 2 scoops of ice cream, 1 wine, 1 cola €73

only a conditional recommendation. Food: The pike perch was too overdone (should be successful here in Kiel and in the restaurant with fish specialties), the butter sauce with shrimp had too little taste and was basically just floating fat. The nut butter with the green asparagus was far too cold and couldn't melt at all, so it remained an unusable block of butter. Jerusalem artichoke was not peeled, which is possible, but which is not what you want in the mouth and which doesn't go well here. The service also left a lot to be desired, very slow at the beginning, there was no information about the daily dishes. We had to find out for ourselves by walking through the restaurant. There was also no explanation (only when asked) that side dishes are not included with the meal and that they all have to be ordered separately, which is not common in restaurants and would have been important information for first-time visitors. It also makes the food quite expensive, and it wasn't that posh. We were given the menu for desserts and a digestif, but after that the service was no longer interested in us and after a long time we had to call the service ourselves to get something else. Overall, not an impression that would make you choose this restaurant the next time you visit Kiel.

Wir waren mit 2 Personen während unseres Kiel Urlaubes hier essen. Das Personal war super freundlich. Das Lokal war sehr gut besucht. Wir hatten zum Glück reserviert. Ich hatte ein Rumpsteak mit Zwiebeln und mein Mann Zander. Dazu Bratkartoffeln und Gratin. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung. Wir würden wieder dort essen.

Immer wieder gerne! Das Konzept unterschiedliche Beilagen auszusuchen, ist in Kiel m. W. einmalig. Meine Frau und ich hatten zwei Hauptgerichte und vier Beilagen. So konnten wir von allen probieren. Alles sehr, sehr 😋. Einzig die Hintergrundmusik stört.

In principle it's great that they're trying to do something new with the food creations, but a lot of things aren't quite right yet. The kimchi didn't have the sour taste of fermented vegetables and the grilled pointed cabbage tasted a bit bland. The pearl barley risotto with bacon was also a bit watery and didn't have an intense taste. The tuna steak was really delicious. The prices are tough. A main course costs around €18-25 and the side dishes cost €6 extra. The service was a bit too intrusive in my opinion, otherwise the ambience inside is quite good with a view of the fjord.

Es war unser erster Besuch des Lagom, nach Tripadvisor eines der besten Restaurants in Kiel. Die Tische stehen eng an eng, Privatsphäre ist kaum möglich. Wenn man Pech hat wie ich, schaut man auf eine graue Wand. Das Essen es war lauwarm. Die Sauce zu den Ochsenbäckchen war dünn wie eine Suppe und fade. Das Wolfsbarschfilet geschmacklich neutral. Die als Beilage servierten Bratkartoffel waren angebrannt, weich und nicht genießbar. Wenn das nicht Convenience Ware war, wäre es noch peinlicher. Nach einer 3/4 Std. und halb vollen Tellern, war das unser letzter Besuch des Lagom.

"Lagom" bedeutet so viel wie "Entspannung/Ruhe". Doch davon ist im Restaurant nichts zu spüren. Die Einrichtung ist kühl, das Personal eher träge. Was mich besonders abschreckt: Man hat nur 2 Stunden Zeit, um zu essen. Dann wird der Tisch für die nächsten Gäste benötigt! Wie soll da Entspannung bzw. Ruhe beim Essen entstehen? Zumal man einen guten Teil der 2 Stunden schon auf die Bedienung bzw. das Essen warten muss???

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all. There were two of us in the restaurant and we had steak and wild boar. The steak was tough and the food overall was lukewarm at most. The ambience is similar to a canteen - unfortunately it is uncomfortable and very loud. In addition, we were assigned a table that was so small that there was hardly any space for the food and drinks we ordered. Too bad! We expected much more for the prices charged there.

Maritime ambience with simple wooden tables - very tasty food - priced with (too) big ambitions. Cowboy steak is John Wayne format. Recommendation 😄
