Overall, the restaurant has developed very positively since the change of ownership. The service is now much more efficient and the food is truly delicious. It's a bit small in winter (around 20 seats), but otherwise, with an outdoor area, there's plenty of space. However, it's almost impossible to get in on weekends without a reservation.

Upon entering the restaurant, I received an exceptionally warm welcome – so warm that I almost forgot I was a guest. The service was first-class from the very first moment: attentive, prompt, unobtrusive, and genuinely welcoming. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the owner. With his friendly, authentic, and charming manner, he creates an atmosphere where you not only feel welcome but truly at home. Here, the customer isn't just a guest – they're part of the family. This personal touch makes all the difference and clearly distinguishes this restaurant from many others. A place you'll want to return to – not just for the food, but for the feeling of being truly welcome!

I have rarely eaten such good food – huge compliments to the chef!

The price/performance ratio is debatable… We, two people, were there over the weekend with a reservation. There were free parking spaces, a good start. Inside the restaurant, we received a very friendly welcome with a handshake, a bit unusual for a first-timer, but I found it very pleasant. The restaurant has a relatively limited number of tables, so a reservation is absolutely essential. The menu is classic Mediterranean, with an additional daily specials menu. I ordered calamari fritti with salad. The wait for the food was acceptable for a Saturday evening; you have to be realistic about that. The calamari tasted okay, but nothing so exceptional that I would order it again. I felt the dish lacked a certain finesse, which was a shame. I then ordered more bread because I simply wasn't full after the main course. I found the wine ordering options somewhat odd. They only offer one house wine by the glass; if you want to order classic Italian wines, you have to order them by the bottle. In conclusion: we ended the evening with a bill of €90, and for me, it wasn't really worth it.

Incredibly delicious, very nice atmosphere and very courteous service

Anything less than 5* would be an insult. Extremely friendly and competent service, the owner personally does it with a few employees. As an Italian, I was able to converse in my native language. The menu and wine lists are not too long and well-presented. The signature dish is pasta with lobster, and it is excellent. The prices are not cheap, but justified given the quality and service. Beautiful location, with enough parking. Anyone who wants cream in their dishes should go elsewhere. I would also recommend the pasta with lobster with white wine and without cream; unfortunately, the version on the menu is geared towards German customers, but you can order it differently. Top address, top owner, top originality.

This was our first time at this restaurant. The service was perfect. The food was also very good. The street noise was a bit annoying, but that's just how it is. You can't call the food inexpensive either. €300 for four people (just one appetizer) was pretty steep. All in all, though, it was a successful evening.

Our waiter was very funny and friendly. We had a delicious meal and were recommended a great red wine. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, and therefore La Vecchia Osteria deserves the highest possible rating. If we're ever in the mood for a really good Italian restaurant again, this one will now be our first choice. Highly recommended!!!

La Vecchia Osteria is a cozy Italian restaurant that delights with authentic cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. The dishes, from homemade pasta to fresh pizzas, are delicious and prepared with great attention to detail. The antipasti and tiramisu in particular are real highlights. The service is friendly and attentive, even if it can sometimes take a little longer when the house is full. All in all, a wonderful place to enjoy relaxed Italian food!

We were here with a larger group. First of all we were greeted warmly and provided with drinks. The weather allowed us to sit outside. The prepared tables with very cute individual dishes had already been set well in advance, because a layer of dust, probably from the street, covered my plate. The food was very good. In my opinion, the appetizer plates were a bit tight, mixed appetizer plates for everyone. Afterwards I had spaghetti with lobster and I can only recommend it. Drinks were provided, but we would have drunk significantly more if we had been at the table more often. Tiramisu for dessert. And that was very good too. Overall recommended

Renato handed over the restaurant to Raffaelo a few months ago. He conveyed the soul of Renato beautifully. The quality and especially that of the wine has remained the same. Bravo and keep it up! Recommended at the highest level.

Ein super liebevoller und persönlicher Sevice, eine ausgewogene Karte und vor allem, das von uns bestellte (Vitello Tonato, Bruschetta, Seezunge, Hummerspaghetti, Mix Dessert) war alles ausgezeichnet. Lediglich die Preise der Schnäpse danach und des super leckeren Eierlikör fand ich extrem. Aber die muss man dann nicht bestellen. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

A complete disaster! The food was actually quite good but the price was overpriced. It's an outrage what they're asking for. The waiters don't get tips because the boss takes everything and the place isn't under control. It was raining in the barn and the wine glasses are from Ikea. For the money you can eat at home. The boss with his unnatural manner just talks to you about his money problems and saves money wherever he can in the restaurant.

Vorspeise mager, Pasta sehr salzig, Rotwein Eiskalt Große Enttäuschung. Die Ambiente war angenehm aber das Essen nicht gut wie früher. Nur der Nachtisch war OK.

Ambiente (lieblos und unschön umgebaute Scheune) sehr bescheiden und entspricht in keiner Weise dem Preisniveau und dem hier in vielen Bewertungen allzu überschwänglich gepriesenen „Anspruch“. Trockenes, altes Brot; billige, fleckige Papierkarte (erinnert mehr an Imbiss als an die Speisekarte eines Restaurants); _sehr_ kleine Portionen bei durchschnittlicher Qualität. Tolles Essen im gehobenen Preissegment

My friend and I met up here for an excellent light lunch recently. The place is a little bit out in the sticks and we both drove here separately and parked in the free car park next to the restaurant. We sat at at table outside on the terrace and were quickly served by a jovial character who helped create a friendly and informal atmosphere. We stuck to fizzy San Pelligrino mineral water and chose from the special items on the blackboard. I went for the delicious baby calamaris. As we waited for our food to arrive we had fresh bread with olives and alioli and a small portion of exquisite, ultra thinly sliced Parmalat ham. We didn't have a great deal of time for this lunchtime session. But we both agreed that we should bring our respective families back one of these days soon.

Sehr schöne kleine mit viel Liebe eingerichtete Osteria. Das Essen und die Weine sind gut bis sehr gut. Die Preise sind gehoben aber sie sind es wert. Kein Allerwelts Italiener mit der üblichen Pizza und Pasta Auswahl. Großer Parkplatz vorhanden. Extra zu erwähnen sei noch die wundervolle Gastfreundlichkeit von Renato und seinem Team, sodaß man sich sofort wie unter Freunden fühlte. Und wo bekommt man noch zum Abschluss als Weihnachtspräsent einen wundervollen Panettone geschenkt? Anzumerken sei auch noch daß wir zum ersten aber nicht zum letzten Mal da waren.

Es war ein wundervoller Abend mit Vitello als Vorspeise und fantastischen Tagliatelle mit Steinpilzen zum Hauptgang. Die Bedingungen waren alle sehr zuvorkommend und super schnell.

Einfach nur Traumhaft Essen und Personal Spitze besser geht es nicht

Sehr herzlicher Empfang, kleine aber sehr interessante Speisekarte, aktuelle Tagesgerichte auf einer großen Tafel. Hervorragende Speisen. Waren zum ersten Mal da und kommen bestimmt gerne wieder!

Hier gibt es das Essen der höheren Klasse zu einem angemessenen Preis.

Wir besuchen Renato Fendi und seine Familie seit schon seit Ewigkeiten. Das Essen und die Gastfreundschaft sind unübertroffen. Heute haben wir Familie aus Süddeutschland zum ersten Mal mitgenommen und haben wie immer einen besonderen Abend verlebt. Vielen Dank dafür und die mein Lohn für die konstante Leistung über Jahrzehnte. Leider gibt wenig echte Konkurrenz in Leverkusen. Weitermachen!
