La Trattoria - Italian Casual in Hagen

We went there for dinner today and ordered fillet for just under 60 euros per person. Unfortunately, the fillet wasn't medium as requested, but rather well-done. It came with a few potatoes and a bit of vegetables. The taste was okay, but unfortunately, it was very little for the price. When we asked about it, the waitress apologized, but otherwise, no one seemed interested, even though we received a very warm welcome and everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I would have liked someone to ask why we were dissatisfied.

La Trattoria in Hagen is a real winner if you like Italian food! You immediately feel welcome as soon as you walk in – the team is super friendly and always up for a quick chat. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into their work. The food? Really, really good! Whether it's pizza, pasta, or the delicious appetizers – everything tastes super fresh and is lovingly prepared. The pizza has a crispy base, the toppings are just right, and the pasta is cooked to perfection. What's especially cool: The daily specials are always worth a try! The bottom line: If you're looking for authentic Italian food in a relaxed atmosphere and want to be looked after by a super friendly team, La Trattoria is the place for you. Highly recommended!

Impossible food! It was a true delight again! Million thanks! Good Italian cuisine! Italian cuisine full of flavor and quality! Marco and his team are passionate about celebrating Italian flair. I've had the pleasure of being their guest several times, and I've also taken advantage of the "to go" option. The fish dishes are always excellent, and of course the meat dishes, but pasta and pizza are also highly recommended. The whole experience is rounded off by the wine recommendations and the final espresso and/or grappa! If you're in the mood for Italian food in Hagen, this is my first stop!

We received a warm welcome and were shown to our reserved table. Our orders were taken promptly. The food was very, very tasty, with excellent flavor. The pasta was cooked to perfection; I really enjoyed it. The tiramisu was also excellent. I will definitely come back and try other dishes.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. Dealing with criticism seems unprofessional; excuses are sought rather than understanding. There were six of us there. Although our order was taken after about 30 minutes, a larger group that arrived after us was served first. We had to wait a total of around 1.5 hours for our food. After about 45 minutes we asked politely where the food was and repeated our inquiry an hour later. Only then did the waiter visibly react and go into the kitchen to apparently pass on our order again. When the food finally came, the pasta wasn't cooked through - according to the chef, it was "al dente", as it is eaten in Italy. But the difference between al dente and simply almost raw pasta is clear. It looked more like they were trying to quickly complete the forgotten order somehow. Unfortunately the pizzas were too salty. What struck me as particularly negative was that my wife was spoken to in an unfriendly manner by the chef when she expressed her criticism - behavior that has no place in a "professional" restaurant. After paying, we were asked whether everything had been OK, but our comments about the long waiting time and the average food were hardly heeded. There was no apology or a small gesture like an espresso on the house – as many other restaurants do for less serious problems. Even saying goodbye when leaving the restaurant would have at least left a conciliatory impression - but even that didn't happen. I recommend taking a look at other reviews before visiting, especially how they handle criticism. Apparently I'm not the only one with such an experience. By the way, I had to subsequently adjust my rating because someone was bothered by certain wording. 😘 Addendum: This is neither a misunderstanding nor a targeted negative intention. The experiences described do not actually correspond to the image we had of your house - and yet that is how we experienced them. In the restaurant we were able to observe how criticism is dealt with, and the reactions to negative reviews also speak for themselves: Instead of reacting constructively, reviewers are devalued with supposedly humorous comments. My criticism is objective and justified. I don't see a personal conversation as productive after we were passed over, treated badly and ignored by the kitchen and service staff. Unfortunately, the demands you place on your quality differ greatly from what we actually experienced.

One of the best Italian restaurants I know. Food tasted outstanding, very nicely prepared, pleasant portion size, simply great. Service as we often knew it before, very friendly and simply professional. Prices are pretty sporty, so definitely not a bargain, but the quality absolutely matches it. Clear recommendation, we would like to come back.

The food is decent but not outstanding, the food/performance is not up to par. We were there twice and expected more. The wine selection is really very good.

Unfortunately disappointing! It started with the appetizers. My friend got fish tartare even though she had ordered beef. When she asked, she got her beef tartare, which was not prepared at the table as described on the menu. There was no apology whatsoever. When my wife asked for a paper napkin, she actually got a zewa. We ordered fish, which was served with asparagus, among other things. The meal came without asparagus and was then refilled upon request. The fish was overcooked and everything was lukewarm. Again, there was no apology or explanation. The dessert (I had panna cotta) was very good. At the end, when the young waitress asked if everything was okay and my friend said no, it was simply ignored. Mistakes happen everywhere, but you should be able to deal with them. If you're in this price range, I expect something different.

A really wonderful evening at La Trattoria in Hagen! The ambience is designed with great attention to detail and immediately creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. The service was authentic, warm and attentive - you immediately feel like you are in good hands. The food was excellent: selected dishes, tasty and prepared with a lot of care. You can tell that people cook with passion here. I would definitely like to come back – a clear recommendation!

We eat there about 4 times a year. Yesterday everything was a little weaker. I missed the limoncello a bit at the end. Maybe yesterday wasn't such a good day. Of course we will come back and hope for a better experience.

We were there again with 4 people these days. We were very amazed at the change in the menu! But not to our advantage. Here we simply lacked the individuality that would still be there in 2024. Too bad

It's so fantastic because it's a lovingly decorated Italian restaurant, with great service and authentic Italian food! The staff looks after you so lovingly that you think you are the most important guest. Antonio's wine recommendations are always appreciated and the homemade pasta is a treat! Whether for pleasure or business, I always enjoy visiting La Trattoria. After a Negroni as an aperitif, there is hardly any way around the beef tartare, which is always prepared at the table in the evening service. Whether three or four courses, you will always be happy with the regular menu if you don't like the varied and original weekly menus. The selection of open wines is completely sufficient, but for bottled wines it is naturally even larger. The host is friendly and personable, the service is quick, attentive and professional.

We have eaten there several times, including from the lunch menu at a lower price. The food was always very tasty. Today I attended a vegetarian cooking class with Mario. We cooked a lot and very, very tasty. Mario and his staff were very friendly, open and generously shared their cooking knowledge with us. I learned a lot and the result was simply delicious. The leftovers were lovingly packaged for us and the family was able to enjoy the several courses at home. We will now enjoy eating there even more (because we know the background) and I will definitely take another cooking course. Thanks Mario.

Nice atmosphere and very busy for a Monday evening. Starter plate was ok. The highly praised spaghetti with melted Parmesan, on the other hand, was very bland - a stronger cheese would have been better. The fish main course was ok but not a splashy meal. I expected it to be tastier. Dessert was again very good. Price/performance ok.

On the recommendation of our Italian friends, we went there several times, the food and wine recommendations were perfect every time, and the fish and meat menu changed. The food is freshly prepared, you can see the kitchen from the outside, there is nothing to complain about in terms of taste or quality. Price/performance are reasonable. A very nice atmosphere both outside in summer and now in autumn. What particularly stands out is the unobtrusive but always attentive and really friendly service. We would be happy to come back. 👌

Taste ok. But for €46 I only got a piece of steak + half a potato and two mini carrots.

Unfortunately, on our last visit there was no relationship between price and performance. One dish was completely bland, while others were so over-peppered that it wasn't enjoyable and you couldn't eat it all. The notice was skillfully ignored by the service staff; there was neither a discount, a nightcap or any other form of compensation. It's really a shame that no insight has been shown here. Then I would rather invest my money in other locations.

We were a group of 8 people and had a reservation for 7:00 p.m. on a Friday. Overall, we liked the taste of the food and drinks! However, we were a little disappointed with the service, each of us was only served one drink and we weren't asked if we could have anything else, and the food took at least an hour to be served, so our appetite worked up a dessert also passed. Furthermore, we didn't ask how we liked the food or whether we were satisfied, even though the shop wasn't overcrowded... If the service would improve, the restaurant would be recommended!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal hier und es passte alles von Anfang bis Ende. Sehr persönlicher Empfang, schöner Platz zum sitzen . Exellenter junger Mann, der unsere Essenwünsche aufnahm. Er filitierte auf meinen Wunsch auch gekonnt meine Seezunge am Tisch. Alles sehr aufmerksam und kein bisschen aufdringlich. Als wir gingen, hat uns der Chef noch das Innere des Restaurants gezeigt. Alle Angestellten dort winkten uns freundlich zu und der Küchenchef kam extra raus und wünschte uns ein schönes Wochenende. Wir haben selten solch eine Ausgewogenheit zwischen Atmosphäre, Qualität des Essens und Freundlichkeit erlebt. Großes Kompliment. Hier wird alles richtig gemacht… Und das Essen ist grandios

Always worth a visit, great delivery service

The pizza with salami I chose was almost impossible to cut from the base. The taste is rather simple and there is quite a lot of fat floating on top. The shandy I ordered was too sweet for me and therefore took some getting used to. Given the prevailing temperatures, I would have liked better cooling. Ambiance: We sat outside and had a view of the traffic and the parked cars. Price/performance: Let's put it that way. For the very reasonable price I have eaten much better Italian food.

Everything is perfect at La Trattoria! Nice and cozy atmosphere, great food and great service (and the boss)! Little gem right in Hagen. So if you want to go for something a little more fancy and have great Italian food in Hagen, I can highly recommend La Trattoria. We always like to go there and have never been disappointed (except that the pinsa was unfortunately taken out of the lunch special. But the explanation from the boss was understandable 😄)

I was in hagen for business trip while we had lunch at la trattoria… very italian restaurant, to highlight all pasta are handmade and there very many different choices. We had tagliatelle alla bolognese…same taste of my grandmother used to do every sunday… Moreover…serving are huge 🤩

I can't understand the positive reviews. One of the worst Italian restaurants I've ever been to. The Vitello Tonnato was dry and chewy and obscured by a strange sauce with lots of fruit? The macaroni was soaked in a watery, glassy sauce with tons of garlic bits. Very strange and just not good! It's a shame, because the very high prices are ridiculous and lead us to expect better!!! Definitely not again...

Ich esse hier sehr gern, weil alles frisch ist. Letztens hatte ich wieder einmal Polpo. Sehr sehr gut. Der Service ist auch sehr aufmerksam.

Wir habe uns auf einen schönen Abend mit leckerem Essen gefreut. Da wir gerne frischen Fisch essen, haben wir nach dem aktuellen Angebot gefragt. Antwort des Kellners, Steinbutt und Seezunge. Seezunge war auf den Punkt gegart und sehr schmackhaft. Steinbutt eine Heimsuchung, was uns nicht gesagt wurde, da wir es nicht auf de Karte hatten, Steinbutt a la Calabria, also mit chilli. So scharf ungenießbar, der Steinbutt trocken, absolut übergrillt und auf Nachfrage beim Personal, ist eben a la Calabria. Und das ganze zu einem stattlichen Preis. Das wars. Für uns das letzte mal. Essen einfach nur teuer, da gibt es bessere italienische Restaurants

All I can say is... top!!! Very nice location...the service was top...friendly waiters and waitresses... My fillet was great and the sauce that went with it was a dream!!!! I ordered extra bread so as not to waste any of the sauce....!!! The dessert was also very tasty and all in all it was a nice evening. We will come back....and then I need the recipe for the sauce😉😃

Der Empfang war wie immer nett und herzlich, das Essen war ok, ist aber leider viel teurer als früher geworden. Das wäre ja auch ok, die Qualität ist aber leider im gleichen Zuge nicht besser geworden. Das Ambiente hat nicht viel von einer romantischen Trattoria eher etwas von einer neuen Pizzeria. Die Gäste werden durchgetaktet, die nächsten Gäste welche an der Bar geparkt werden, starren schon ungeduldig auf die Teller der anderen Gäste. Italienisches Flair kommt allerdings bei der mafiösen Preisgestaltung auf. Korkgeld wird hier z.b. uminterpretiert, man zahlt also nicht nur wenn man sich selbst einen guten Tropfen mitbringt, sondern versteckte Kosten von über 15€ für jede verzerrte Flasche Wein. Schade, wieder mal eine Adresse weniger in Hagen, die man gern ansteuert.

The food at La Trattoria was really tasty, but the meal took a long time (40 minutes). The service was nice, but didn't pay much attention to us. The restaurant used to impress with its top price-performance ratio, but today it has become significantly more expensive and unfortunately can no longer be recommended. A particularly negative experience was the fact that we were charged 15 euros for a corkage fee for a bottle of wine purchased there. I find this to be inappropriate and simply absurd! Overall, the food was delicious, the summary of the evening is, but never again, stay away from it!!!

Very tasty Italian restaurant. I had penne arrabiata there for lunch. Price / offer: Very good. Unfortunately it's a little cramped, which quickly becomes loud when busy. Service is very good. Food came in about 20 minutes, but still very quickly since it was quite full. Tastes very, very good! I would and will happily come back.

I've been eating at La Trattoria for many years and I'm always impressed. The hospitality, the service, the food and everything imaginable that goes into a successful evening can be found here. The Italian flair and charm of La Trattoria make you feel like you are in your living room. Our clear recommendation is the tagliata, because it is simply unbeatable. Am Anfang war ich ganz begeistert von diesem kleinen Restaurant. Da konnte ich auch die Wartezeit gut wegstecken. Mein letzter Besuch hat mich allerdings enttäuscht. Die Preise wurden heftig angezogen (man mag es auf Corona schieben). Wenn es schon teuer ist, dann möchte ich auch keine Stunde auf mein Essen warten.

Restaurant mit premium Anspruch, dem es leider nicht so ganz gerecht wird. Keller volle Punktzahl, aber jedes mal muss ich warten trotz Reservierung. Genauso schlimm wie bei ner Arztpraxis, nur ohne Stühle. Und dann wird man auch noch komisch angeschaut. Egal. Essen ist gut, aber die Pina überzeugt nicht. Die Pizzen waren doch toll, schade drum. Preis/Leistung passt inzwischen bei vielen Gerichten nicht mehr.

Sehr schönes kleines Restaurant mit sehr viel Liebe und Herzblut. Die Gerichte auf der Karte sind in der Regel etwas abseits der regulären Pizzakarten, die man sonst kennt: Gehobene Küche! Auch der Mittagstisch ist mit reduzierter Karte und Vergünstigungen zu empfehlen. Der Service ist grundsätzlich super, das Personal immer freundlich und sehr kompetent. Das Ambiente ist authentisch und liebevoll, fast schon sehr exklusiv. Die Platzauswahl im inneren ist überschaubar, daher sollte unbedingt vorher reserviert werden. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne!

Ich glaube, das wichtigste an einem Abend im Restaurant ist, dass man die Location glücklich verlässt. Das ist La Trattoria bis jetzt 4 Mal gelungen. Mir sind 2 Dinge besonders wichtig... 1) Wir waren kürzlich am Wochende dort essen. Es war sehr voll und trotzdem hatte ich nicht eine Sekunde das Gefühl, dass wir mit einem Kind 5 Jahre und einem Baby 0 Jahre inkl. Kinderwagen irgendwie stören. Es wurden einfach Lösungen gefunden. Im Bad findet man übrigens auch einen Wickeltisch. 2) Die Gnocchis sind ausgezeichnet, ggf die besten, welche ich jemals essen durfte.

Wir waren jetzt das 2.mal da. Wir hatten einen super schönen Abend. Der Service ist erste Klasse! Das Ambiente super schön und sehr gemütlich. Jetzt zu dem wichtigsten, dass Essen. Das Essen hat uns umgehauen.Wir kamen gerade aus dem Italien Urlaub und wir wurden durch das Essen wieder zurück in unseren Urlaub katapultiert. Das Restaurant ist ein bisschen abgelegen, aber ein Besuch empfiehlt sich. Den Bedienungen und Mitarbeitern merkt man sichtlich an, dass sie ihren Job dort lieben, dementsprechend freundlich wird man empfangen. Das Essen ist nicht gerade preisgünstig, aber auf jeden Fall jeden Euro wert, zudem machen die Zubereitung der Linguine aus dem Käselaib oder die Zabaione mit Feuer am Tisch auch optisch Eindruck, und geschmacklich lässt das Restaurant keinen Wunsch offen.

Sehr freundliches Personal, Preise etwas teurer als bei anderen Italienern aber absolut angemessen bei der Qualität die man auf den Tisch bekommt. Frischer Fisch, selbst hergestellte Nudeln, alles war bisher hervorragend. Thunfisch Tatar ist ein Muss! Vorbehaltlos zu empfehlen
