La Taverna in Paderborn

I visited La Taverna for the first time today. I loved it! Attractive premises, very friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere. The food and wine were absolutely superb. I will definitely be back. Best regards

Very delicious food, but just too loud there

We spent a wonderful evening with three generations of our family, including two small dogs. Everyone was happy with their food, and the service was very friendly and attentive. I can wholeheartedly recommend La Taverna. Many thanks to the team at La Taverna!

Trattoria La Taverna completely captivated us with its authentic Italian cuisine and warm, family-friendly atmosphere. The food was outstanding – the homemade pasta in particular is a dream, and the pizza has a wonderfully crispy base. The service was attentive and very friendly; you immediately feel welcome here. Meine Frau und ich hatten einen sehr schönen Abend. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Das Essen (Vorspeise, Hauptspeise, Nachspeise) konnte geschmacklich ebenso überzeugen. Dabei ein gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis und schönes italienisches Ambiente.

La Taverna used to be an insider tip, but unfortunately the food is now just average. I was there twice in 3 weeks and neither the pizza nor the pasta could convince me. The base of the pizza was soggy in the middle, both times, the seafood pasta in an unimaginative saffron sauce. In my opinion it's all a bit unimaginative.

La Taverna is a small Italian restaurant. The service was very friendly and not intrusive. The food was excellent and came relatively quickly. The taste was excellent, perhaps the portions could have been a bit larger. I particularly liked the fish of the day. Sheep was that he only comes when asked. A blackboard or something like that would have been something.

The restaurant is extremely loud. Normal conversation is almost impossible. We had specifically reserved a table in the back corner... but of course, we didn't get one. So why bother making reservations? The food was OK, but nothing special. A truly disappointing experience. Therefore, it's a place I certainly won't be going back to.

At 9:40 p.m. there was no more food. It said it had already been cleaned.

Where do I begin? From the outside, it's a small, almost unspectacular restaurant with an illuminated sign reading "La Trattoria Taverna." You enter the restaurant through both the door and a heavy fabric divider. And then you're already in the heart of the restaurant. And this is where we realized our biggest mistake. We hadn't made a reservation! Nevertheless, we were allowed to sit at the counter, where we were warmly welcomed, presented with a small, fine, and by no means overly elaborate menu, and had a perfect view of the kitchen. In short, my better half opted for the "Pappardelle Perla di Mare" and I opted for the "Pappardelle Boscaiola." To shorten the wait a bit, we were served homemade bread along with a very good oil and vinegar. Having worked in the restaurant industry for a long time and traveled to Italy several times, I can only describe the food as follows: Authentic, prepared to perfection, Belissima! Fresh pasta al dente, porcini mushrooms, scallops, scampi, and the fillet tips cooked to perfection, the jus a flavor explosion, and for me, definitely the best Italian restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of dining at in Germany. The staff is also incredibly friendly and accommodating. You simply feel welcome and "at home with friends." This was definitely not our last visit, for which we happily traveled 120 km ☺️❤️ Best regards from the little "Cola Accident" ☺️

Chef schmeißt uns raus, weil wir nicht reserviert hatten. Wohlgemerkt als wir schon am Tisch waren, die Essenbestellung aufgenommen worden war und unsere Getränke halb ausgetrunken haben. So was habe ich echt noch nie erlebt. Danach wurden mir auch noch Schläge angedroht, als ich mich darüber aufgeregt habe. Skuriller Abend.

Extremely good. We didn't know our way around Paderborn, Google maps showed us the restaurant nearby. We were very positively surprised. The place was full on a Wednesday evening and it was difficult to reserve a table without a table, but it was manageable with a 10 minute wait at the counter. We got a table and a very, very good dinner. The boss takes care of his guests with an open cordiality, it was a pleasure.

Super nice and delicious evening

We spontaneously got a great place, were warmly welcomed and really pampered. Including birthday Prosecco for my wife 🥂 All 4 dishes including starters and desserts were excellent. Full 5 stars ⭐️ Great pizza! Delicious noodles! Great tiramisu! We'd love to come back!!!

A small shop in the middle of the Riemekeviertel. There were seven of us and we had a separate area for ourselves. That was great because the dining room is a bit louder when it's full and that was the case for us too. The service was friendly. It took a while before we could place our order, but the wait was totally manageable. We all really enjoyed the food! It looked attractive, was hot and plentiful. It was my first time at "La Taverna", but definitely not the last time! P.S.: Reserve a table before your visit!

Very tasty food, there's nothing to criticize, the price is also completely reasonable. However, I can't report on the friendliness of the "chef" that I read in another review. I've never felt so unwanted and uncomfortable as a paying guest anywhere, and I definitely won't be going there again.

Ich freue mich wie Bolle das die Sommerpause vorbei ist. Hab eben die offene Tür gesehen und werde sicher einer der ersten Gäste sein. Seit dem ich hier im Quartier wohne (10 Jahre) war ich über hundert mal bei den Zwillingen. Und habe nicht zehn mal das Selbe gegessen. Einfach mal fragen was es außerhalb der Karte noch gibt. 😉 Und Gregor, ich gebe Dir recht. Aber das hat sich vor nem knappen Jahr erledigt. Die Tratoria gehört zu den drei besten Italienern in Paderborn. Die Reihenfolge vergibt sicher jeder unterschiedlich aber dabei sind sie immer.👍 *nicht alle Musiker glauben an Gott. Aber alle glauben an Bach!

**Restaurant Review** We have been going here for years and think this is the best Italian restaurant in Paderborn. The menu is super varied and offers a great selection of fresh and creative dishes. Even special requests are always implemented perfectly. The service is always top - the restaurant is run by the owners and their family, which creates a particularly warm atmosphere. There are always a lot of regular guests here, which speaks for itself. The mood is always relaxed and inviting. We look forward to our visit every time and can only warmly recommend this restaurant.

There were 10 of us there and the food came at the same time and quite quickly. The portions were a good size and it was a treat. The service was also really friendly and accommodating. The prices are a little more expensive...pasta about €16. Despite the higher prices, the restaurant is really recommended.

Absolutely recommended and authentic Italian!!! We spontaneously reserved a table for 6:15 p.m. today and are simply thrilled! The food (we had spaghetti carbonara and pizza lusso) is just great, authentic and very tasty. Here you can tell that the cooking is done with passion and love - the carbonara was perfectly creamy without cream and the pizza dough tastes like real dough and not like the run-of-the-mill “Italians”. The ambience is simple and modern, you immediately feel at home! Finally, we have to mention the excellent service, the young woman and the older gentleman in service did a brilliant and friendly job! It was our first, but definitely not the last time we ate there, thank you very much 🙏🏻

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit (Kinder)freundlichem und zuvorkommenden Personal. Die Karte lässt keine Wünsche offen, ich empfehle einfach Mal was neues zu probieren, es schmeckt definitiv! Preis/Leistung ist stimmig. Klare Empfehlung!

Gutes italienisches Restaurant, familiär geführt, Essen qualitativ und auch in der Menge sehr gut, egal ob Vorspeisen oder Hauptgänge, egal ob Fleisch oder Fisch, die Pizza Parma mit Rucola als Vorspeise ist jedem zu empfehlen, Vorspeisenteller ebenfalls. Der Service ist sehr gut. Wir kommen immer gerne wieder.

Kleines inhabergeführtes Restaurant in einem Wohnviertel mit Aussenbereich an einer ruhigeren Straße. Es handelt sich nicht um das schönste Restaurant mit der besten Lage, sondern um ein klassisches solides und gut geführtes Restaurant mit leckerem Essen zu fairen Preisen. Sehr gut für ein zwangloses Abendmahl mit Freunden, guten Kollegen oder der Partnerin.

Ein echtes, italienisches Restaurant, keine schnöde Pizzeria. Ein fantastisches Vitello tonnato. Eine wirklich gute italienische Speisekarte, nur wenige Pizzen. Die sind dafür sehr gut.

Fantastic food, friendly service

Die drei Sterne sind nur für das leckere Essen zu vergeben. Die Bedingungen ist selten bis fast gar nicht an den Tisch bekommen. Das Lokal war nicht wirklich voll. Wir haben auch nicht so lange auf unser essen gewartet aber auf die Beerdigung!

Familiengeführtes Restaurant mit kleiner aber feiner Karte. Wechselnde Tageskarte mit Fisch-, Fleisch- und Pastagerichten. Unter der Woche wird ein Mittagstisch angeboten.

Für einen Italiener sind 7 Pizzen auf der Speisekarte schon etwas wenig. Darunter leider keine "Standard" Pizzen wie z.b Salami, Mozarella, Magaritha etc. Wir hatten die Pizza Parma die leider etwas versalzen war. Das Lokal ist gemütlich eingerichtet allerdings in einer Schlechten Lage. Dementsprechend kaum Parkplätze verfügbar. Zum Schluss hatten wir den Eindruck Vertrieben zu werden nachdem eine Dame lautstark durchs Lokal geschrien hat wer noch zahlen muss. Preis Leistung ist für unseren Geschmack etwas zu teuer dafür das wir nicht zu 100% zufrieden waren mit unseren Aufenthalt.

Ich kenne den Laden wirklich schon Ewigkeiten und mag den Besitzer Calo sehr. Das Essen war schon immer sehr gut und ist im Laufe der Jahre tatsächlich noch besser geworden. Ich gehe aber nicht mehr gerne hin wegen der auch in anderen Kommentaren erwähnten biestigen älteren Bedienung, die leider gefühlt mittlerweile leider immer da ist. Das Verhalten dem Gast gegenüber ist absolut unangebracht. Finde es sehr schade, da ich die örtliche Gastronomie gerne mehr unterstützen würde, gerade dieses Restaurant, aber so sollte sich kein Gast behandeln lassen müssen.

Ein Besuch in der Trattoria Taverna ist wie ein kurzer Italienurlaub - inklusive kleiner Gesangseinlagen, wenn man nahe an der Bar sitzt 😁 Wir waren zu sechst und haben verschiedene Pizzen und Pastagerichte bestellt - alles mega lecker. Die Gerichte sind frisch zubereitet und kommen wirklich noch super heiß auf den Tisch. Das Tiramisu und die Mascarpone haben ebenfalls super geschmeckt. Ich glaube, diese Trattoria ist wirklich ein Geheimtipp, denn sie liegt nicht sehr offensichtlich sichtbar aber ein Besuch lohnt sich definitiv.

Wie immer sehr leckere Essen und eine super erer Bedienung. Leider wurde bei keinem Gast an diesem Abend die 3 G Regel überprüft. Schade. Daher nur 3 Sterne.

Toller Service. Der Tisch war schon vorher eingedeckt worden für ein Geburtstagsessen. Das Fischangebot des Tages superlecker. Steinbutt mit Spinat. Die Servicekraft war herzlich, zuvorkommend und nur für uns da. Ein toller Abend und wir kommen sicher wieder. Danke für den schönen Abend.

Bin Stammkunde und das aus gutem Grund. Ich stelle fest das ich nicht der Einzige bin. Ein wirklich guter Italiener. Dieses Restaurant sollte jeder versuchen. Ich esse beinahe jedesmal etwas anderes, weil an jedem Tag eine große Auswahl an frischen Gerichten zur Wahl steht. An dieser Stelle sage ich Danke für den tollen Einsatz den die Familie und das ganze Team bringt um uns die vielen Abende zu einem Unvergesslichen macht.
