It feels like you're in Brazil, only without the beach, but with better beer 😉

Overpriced, bland food, and small portions. A teaspoonful of farofa, unsalted meat, and unseasoned rice. Only the beans and cassava saved the meal.

The food is excellent... but when it's party day, the drinks take a long time to arrive, and lines form. Every time I went, the public restroom was very dirty, with no toilet paper, paper towels, or soap for hand hygiene. The floor was completely flooded with water, which prevented me from using the restrooms. Every time I went in, I left without using them.

Das La Favela ist ein besonderes Restaurant in einem ausrangierten U-Bahn Wagen. Die Umgebung im Bahnwärter Thiel ist künstlerisch und die Atmosphäre toll. Meine brasilianische Freundin hat dieses Restaurant im Internet gefunden und es als authentisch bewertet. Sie war auch ganz in ihrem Element mit dem Personal portugiesisch zu sprechen. Gerne immer wieder.

Brazil vibes and live music in Sendling!

I can say the atmosphere was what called my attention. Food really good as well!

No small prices😅But the food was great and the service was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is also very creative. There are definitely more boring locations. The only thing that confused me is the opening times during the week. We actually wanted to go out to eat on Monday but it turned into Sunday 😆

In my opinion, the price-performance ratio isn't right. We had the bowl. The taste wasn't very interesting. The server's explanation ("it definitely has bananas in it") wasn't accurate either. The appetizer was also overpriced in my opinion: a portion of mandioca fries for ten euros was ridiculously small, but still tasted quite good. The sauce served with it was rather homeopathically large.

Great food- the Feijoada was fantastic, really reminds of the real Brazilian taste. The overall menu is quite complete, with both food and beverage options from the true Brazilian cuisine. The space is also pretty great, with indoor and outdoor options for seating.

Shouldn't miss this place. The food was delicious and the atmosphere fantastic. Actually this might be my favourite place to spend the weekends

Tastes good, very small portions, correspondingly very expensive.

The live music is very nice, however the food is far from amazing. The service is extremely slow and prices high for the quality. Every time I go there for the music events I buy drinks and some snacks, but always get disappointed! This Sunday they were forbidding people to bring their own water bottle (by 30 degrees) even in the public area, street accessing other businesses. In their business area and at their tables it would be okay, but at the public access area? It’s better to go with my belly full and just enjoy the music.

The experiance is amazing. It is an art. First the set up then the smell of the food then the service and then the goodbye moment. For a lonely person like me, I felt like angles are taking care of me.

Brazilian here. Very authentic vibe, music was awesome, public was very diverse. We were in 2 ppl so we ordered 2 coxinhas, cheese bread, fried manioc, maracuja & lemon caipirinhas. We had to go for a second round of coxinhas and caipirinhas cause it was so good. We left before we had to start dancing on the table. It was the most fun lunch date 😊 highly recommend

Flawless ! Everything was perfect ! Ammaaazing food, honestly, amazing ! Make sure to ask for the hot sauce !!! The cheese balls and chicken balls were perfect! We had like a meat casserole (Auflauf) which was great and very veryyyy friendly staff. ! Probably, one of the best Restaurants in Munich!

If you're looking for an unusual restaurant with a street-style flair, this is the place! They serve Brazilian home-style cooking as well as tapas. The portions are generous and everything tastes really good. You can also enjoy live music here from time to time. We'll definitely be back!

I really liked the food here, and the portions are huge so no one can complain about price/quantity ratio. The menu is very interesting and has very diverse types of dishes, for vegetarians also. Not really sure how to rate the service as you have to order, pick up and clean after - yourself. What I didn’t like is that everyone around us was smoking which ruined a bit the experience, but we were sitting at a terrace in a hipster place of the city, so it’s expected.

I discovered La Favela by chance and was thrilled! As you know, in the Thiel railway station you feel like you're taking a short trip to Berlin, but I didn't expect that I would suddenly arrive in Bahia. In the cozy atmosphere of an old tram you can enjoy delicious Caipirinhas, Moqueca, Pao de Queijo and many other Brazilian delicacies! After I couldn't decide, the lovely waitress and the great chef even brought me a little greeting from the kitchen to try! A nice spontaneous discovery and it certainly wasn't the last time I've been here!

Unfortunately, price-performance is not right. Food was okay, but unfortunately way too expensive and unspectacular for the price, service was nice :)

Could give more stars if the opening hours were correct. We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was closed!

So I paid €10 for a mini bowl of cheese balls without a dip. Way too overpriced for what it is. I wouldn't eat there again. We also waited 40 minutes for the mini portion

That place is within a reworked old railway station system. So the flair is very specific. The food is very authentic and delicious, most of the staff is Brazilian. The prices are high (maybe not so much for Munich), and if you know that they offer basically the Brazilians everyday life food, it's ridiculous. Still, I love that place.

It is an exceptional restaurant with a great atmosphere. A discarded subway car, graffiti everywhere on the outside, lots of bars and young party people around it. Our waitress Daniel was great, totally friendly and always had a joke. The other waitresses were so average. We had to wait a long time for our food, even though we were almost the only guests, because everything is freshly prepared. There is also a kitchen in the subway car. Unfortunately, both the starter and the main course were only lukewarm. Still very tasty in terms of quality and taste. Prices are very reasonable, portions are very small. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right at all. We paid 40 euros for a mixed starter platter, which was enough for 7 people. But everyone could only snack on a little bit of it. The fish stew is not a soup as we know it, but rather a fish curry. Overall, we had a great evening and would try it again in a smaller group.

We were there with a large group. You can then pre-order a keg of beer (20L) for the group to pour themselves, cool thing. The location is coolly located in and around discarded trains. The food tasted great, there are Brazilian dishes. We couldn't understand everything that was on the menu, but everything that was ordered was delicious. Unfortunately only 3 stars for the service because as far as I saw there is no service, you have to pick everything up yourself at the counter. All in all, definitely more than worth a visit.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly. That makes this restaurant one of the best I've tried in Munich. I recommend it 100%. Recommend booking a table before you go.

The best place for any South American craving for food that feels like home. Will definitely come back here again. And for anyone that wants to experience Brazilian food for the first time, this is a great place.

Traditional and authentic Brazilian cuisine in a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Really tasty food including good vegan / vegetarian options. It may not be the typical restaurant feeling in the old tram, but it's something special and fits the Bahnwärter Thiel area. + They told us that they're supporting some poor people in the favelas in Brazil with a part of the tips.

Das brasilianische Restaurant ist ein ausgedienter U-Bahn-Waggon, und auch die Umgebung (das Bahnwärter Thiel Gelände) ist etwas ungewöhnlich... "ein pulsierender Ort, der Kunst und Kultur miteinander verbindet". Die Speise- und Getränkekarte ist überraschend umfangreich dafür, dass die Küche ein kleiner Teil des Waggons ist. Das Personal war freundlich und gut gelaunt, das Essen war sehr gut und exotisch. Ich hatte eine "Feijoada Completa" (Eintopf aus schwarzen Bohnen mit Schweinefleisch, Reis, gebratenem Grünkohl und geröstetem Maniokmehl). auch die Anderen waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen. Leckeres Essen in ungewöhlichem Ambiente - mal was ganz Anderes! Mengen und Preise sind auch in Ordnung. Traut Euch und versucht es auch mal - ich werde sicher wiederkommen :-) Ralf

I was positively surprised by this restaurant located inside a train wagon, surrounded by an underground-style setting, perfect for spending a sunny afternoon. The coxinha was crispy, with fresh and delicious chicken strings inside. The feijoada was excellent, though I would recommend adding a bit more rice to better balance the rich beans and meat. The service was efficient and excellent. It’s an informal spot, with seating available on a terrace. I couldn’t have made a better choice than ending the meal with the pudim, a perfect sweet finish to the day!

La Favela is located in the railway station Thiel, if you are looking for it! The location is great, an old subway car simply converted into a restaurant. Very cool atmosphere. The service was top. The food was good too. I had Moqueca Mixta - "fish and shrimp stew". It was very tasty, but less of a stew than a fish curry and a bit expensive at 25 euros. Starters were great. Cheese balls and the fried fish with dip were first class. But here too the price is quite high (10 or 14.90 euros). Drinks were first class. Overall recommended, but a bit too expensive.

Very good, we were with family, and it warmed my Brazilian heart, I miss Brazilian food, feijoada, coxinha, cheese bread... like a typical mineira I ate praying.

La Favela is a gem hidden inside an old Uban! Delicious brazilian cuisine offered at reasonable prices. Service is welcoming and fast! You also must not skip on their homemade chili sauce, makes everything even tastier!🌶️

Authentic Brazilian food (we had picanha, moqueca and pão de queijo). Caipirinha is good too. To be honest, I find 10 euros for a dozen (small) pão de queijo a bit expensive. Unfortunately, happy hour and rodízio are only available on Thursdays. So we'll probably take this into account on our next visit...

We celebrated a birthday in the restaurant and it was super tasty and something completely different than the normal restaurants. The location in the artist park is super interesting.

Delish, only thing I can say on the cooking would be that the vegan bowl would be really good with brown or purple rice, or even beans instead of just white rice. Service was also nice, although perhaps a bit complicated because of the nature of the restaurant layout to get their attention sometimes. Also forgot one of our starters but honestly we were full anyways 🤞

Authentic food very tasty in an unusual setting. Prices are a bit high and some side dishes are not justified.

I would give it 0 if I could, so this one star goes to the chef Germain, who had the right and super professional attitude when he came to our table to apologize for the raw and hard coxinha that was served to us. The fried cassava was ok, I've had better, but we had to wait a good 40 minutes just for that. The service was extremely slow and confusing. The main dishes were mediocre. The escondidinho was pale and tasteless. The feijão tropeiro was very dry, with almost no beans, lots of onion and only flour, the dried meat was tough, tough, tough. I had to get up to ask for an extra portion of beans and rice so I could swallow the dried meat because the waitress, after complaining about the coxinha and cassava, simply decided to ignore us completely. ROLLED HER EYES when I ordered and didn't even bother to serve us. The next person to come to our table with the extra portions was the wonderful Chef Germain. In short, 110€ for a poor experience, worthless service except for the kindness of the cook, overall an unpleasant and expensive experience, maybe in the favela I would have eaten a thousand times better...

Highly recommended, great location (old subway cars) The service was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I don't really know Brazilian cuisine, but everything tasted great There are also heating stoves inside, so you won't get cold either.

A surprising place where this Brazilian restaurant in a cute set up is set up. It was cold today, the foods was good but a tip to keep the foods warmer would be having hot/warm plate. The foods got cold faster because of the cold plates/bowls. Other that, the service was good, they pay attention to their clients. They have plaid laying on the benches and little heaters.

Es gibt die Klassiker der Brasilianischen Küche in einem sehr ungewöhnlichen Ambiente einer umgebauten S-Bahn . ein Muss wenn man in München ist .

Best food hands down in Munich. Never had Brazilian cuisine and I'm so happy I tried it. Everything was cooked to perfection and with so much love! The servers were also the sweetest and were super accommodating. I would totally recommend the Picanha! Thank you!

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this place wasn't just "hip", but the food was actually great and authentic! The staff wasn't even two German yuppies who had a fun idea. Full recommendation, jokes aside!

Fun place, something different. Staff nice, but you have to constantly make your presence known to place an order. The food was disappointing. We had 2 starters. The lime chicken pieces were chopped so small that there were more bones than meat. The fish bites, on the other hand, were very tasty. The main course, Carne del Sol, was good, but so uncluttered, less so than the starters. Afterwards we went to the fridge because we were really hungry. 50€ is a real rip-off! But you could have gone for a good meal somewhere else and not stayed hungry. It's a shame, it was an attempt, but not a repeat!

Außergewöhnliche Gaststätte in einem ausrangierten Münchner U-Bahn-Waggon, der über und über mit Graffity bedeckt auf dem Bahnwärter Thiel Gelände steht. In der immer perfekter durchgestylt anmutenden Münchner Gastro-Szene mal ein wohltuender Kontrast an Improvisation und Pragmatismus. So ist hier schon der Name Programm. Steht doch Favela in Brasilien nicht gerade für die besseren Wohngegenden. Insgesamt ein sehr passender Rahmen für eine brasilanisch/südamerikanische Küche, die nach unserer Meinung recht authentisch rüber kommt. Ob angebratenes Dörrfleisch mit Gemüse oder die Eintöpfe. Beilagen wie Maniok-Pommes oder Schwarze Bohnen. Alle Gerichte und Beilagen waren sehr schmackhaft (und preislich absolut in Ordnung). Und der aufmerksame Service tut sein übriges, sich fest vorzunehmen bald wieder zu kommen. Klare Empfehlung!

Tolle Stimmung, gutes Essen, exzellente Cocktails (vor allem der Caipirinha mit Zimt-Rum). Wahnsinnig laut allerdings.

Great alternative place to visit. Cool, hipster vibes, with some simple, tasty dishes, great caipirinhas and an amazing dessert trio to end with… all inside a converted train car. Live music was great on the Sunday evening. We were lucky to get a table for 4 - 6 wouldn’t have squeezed in without a booking inside - but lots of tables outside (a little chilly in the autumn!).

I think I only liked the atmosphere. The waiter asked for the bill while we were eating, that was really awkward... They were really not good at service. We ordered the picanha but the meat was not so tender and juicy... I think there are definitely better options out there in the city for the Brazilian cuisine. Just pay €5 more, and you will be dined way better than here...

I went there for the first time yesterday to take my German boyfriend to eat Brazilian food and I was surprised, good food, super attentive waiter, top experience!! Super leckeres Essen! Caipirinha echt super!!

If you are in Munich and miss Brazil, La Favela is your option! Nice atmosphere and good food, as well as the friendliness of Daniel and his team! Top-notch feijoada and caipirinha! My German friends and I loved it!

We didn't find it that tasty, not very spicy, small portion, pricy. It's a shame that you can't look out from the inside, you only see the sprayed windows.

Food was very tasty. I visited the restaurant with 3 Brazilians and everyone really enjoyed the authentic food. The only drawback was the cold rooms (10°C outside temperature). In the colder seasons it is better to pack a sweater. The rustic atmosphere fits the name. We still felt very comfortable.

Cool vibe, cool location, typical Brazilian food. Unfortunately for what you get it's a little bit pricey. But it's great for a little snack and drinking a few beers with your girlfriend. Really nice place and very friendly service. And the 5 of us spontaneously got a place on a Friday evening.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Service somewhat slow. The portions were very small, which surprised me, as they looked well served in the photos... Coxinha had olives and corn, which unfortunately ends up taking all the taste of the coxinha's filling. The picanha meat was very good. Caipirinha was very good.

I ordered the picanha and it came with one and a half pieces, but photos always show 3 pieces. So the photos can deceive you. But the food is really good and fresh. With the exception of the kitchen that has corn and olives, it frankly doesn't make sense
