LA ESTANCIA in Bad Driburg

It was perfect! We received a very warm welcome and were very well advised when choosing the dishes. Steaks on point, side dishes salad etc. all freshly prepared and very tasty. Service was very accommodating and gave us competent advice. We were very happy with everything and if we are nearby we would like to come back.

The food is a dream. If they say food makes you happy then it is definitely true here.

We were there for the first and last time. My steak was cold and raw (ordered medium) and not even the herb butter melted on it. My husband's steak was overcooked and way too well done for medium, and it was also cold. I mean, if you spend €41 for 300 grams of meat, the quality has to be right, right?! The herb butter is a small and mean trap 😂 They ask every guest if they would like some butter on their steak..totally relaxed 😂 everyone happily accepts..then the surprise on the bill: €2.90 for that small spoonful of butter ..totally overpriced 🙄that's cheeky, especially when you think that the butter is a nice little gesture from the restaurant. Well... Conclusion: Maybe the chef just had a bad day, but we're not going there anymore.

This is the second time I've been here and I have to say, there's little else comparable nearby. The price is 100% worth it, the steak was served perfectly medium rare, as ordered. The service is very accommodating and really cool. Cocktails are also all at the top level. A top restaurant through and through!

It's a shame, unfortunately not recommended. Fried potatoes without roasting, meat ordered medium, received well done and dry (fried to death). Waiting time for food was over 1.5 hours. Other guests who came about 45 after us received their food after a short time, which was incomprehensible to us, there were only 6 of us there, the last ones got their food where the first unfortunately did were finished. Price performance doesn't match either. See photo Of course I also mentioned this personally and the reaction was totally bitchy and malicious.

The ambience was chic. It seemed inviting and friendly. Unfortunately, the first difficulties came to light. A wobbling table that could be fixed and a slight draft from the windows. But this is not quite as tragic as the service. Friendly at the beginning, arrived quickly and picked up everything and then didn't really see you at the table anymore. We were a slightly larger group and had to wait almost 1 1/2 hours for the food, which was then brought in stages or not at all. In some cases the preparation was not as desired. When the last person at the table got their food, the first people had already finished theirs. While we were still eating, people were already clearing away, which left an unpleasant feeling. The bill then listed dishes that none of us had ever ordered, let alone eaten. The food itself was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. Now the only thing that needs to be improved is the service, apart from the friendliness because that was all of them.

Sind mit 6 Personen dort mit Reservierung aufgeschlagen. Haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Ich habe das Fleisch medium bestellt alles war komplett durch und zudem sehr trocken und zeh zum Glück hatte ick Soße, Bratkartoffeln haben nur ganz kurz die Pfanne gesehen und hatten kein röstaroman. Preisleistung Verhältnis stimmt auch nicht. Das war leider ein Reinfall. Siehe Foto

The very poor service actually really spoiled the lovely evening that we were looking forward to as a group. The food I ordered came very late. I had to wait over an hour for the food I ordered. And then the food came in installments. First the main course with a missing side dish, when the side dish came the side salad was still missing, which only came when I had already finished eating. Overall, the food for our group came very late so we couldn't eat together. From the first impression of the restaurant we expected more professional service. Overall, the service does not reflect the existing potential. All in all, due to the very poor service and the poor price-performance ratio, a visit to La Estancia is not recommended.

Great ambience. Service very nice. I was disappointed with the food. I had a piece of pork that wasn't cooked through. I then let it go back to the kitchen to fry it through. Unfortunately it was far too dry afterwards. At €42 for a meal it's annoying. At premium prices, premium quality should end up on the plate. However, everything else was good and most of the other guests at the table were satisfied.

My husband and I had dinner at this lovely steakhouse again yesterday (like last year). The food is simply delicious and all the staff are really super friendly. We have been guests at La Estancia a few times and have always been very satisfied - both with the food and the service. The quality of the food, the friendly staff and the pleasant atmosphere have impressed us so far, which is why we were happy to recommend the restaurant to others. Unfortunately, our last visit on New Year's Eve was a huge disappointment, which greatly clouded our previous opinion. A price of €69 per person (excluding drinks) was charged for a three-course menu, which was not justified given the service provided. The portions were surprisingly small. The main course consisted of a 200g steak (or meat of your choice) and a very small portion of potatoes and vegetables. It was not possible to reorder more meat without an additional charge. As an alternative to dessert, we were only offered a coffee specialty or a schnapps, which I found to be inappropriate for such a high-priced menu. There were also long waiting times between courses. In summary, the last New Year's Eve menu was a disappointing experience that did not live up to the price. Compared to last year, when we were also guests on New Year's Eve, this time we paid more than twice as much, but received a significantly smaller portion. Last year we were around €40 per person. and this year at €70 p.p. - an increase that cannot be justified by increased costs.

Meine erste Restaurantbewertung! Wir bekamen einen netten Tisch und waren auch erst sehr zufrieden. Doch dann wurde es nur enttäuschend. Die weibl. Bedienung bat uns den Platz zu wechseln, da eine Gruppe mit 9 Personen unseren Tisch reserviert hätte. Wir bekamen dann einen Tisch an den Toiletten. Die 9 Personen waren in Wahrheit 2 Stammgäste, die einfach unseren Tisch haben wollten. Die bekamen dann auch eher ihr Essen als wir... Uns wurde bei einer Portion ein falsches Stück Fleisch geliefert, (anstatt Rumpsteak ein Entrecôte, jeder der Ahnung hat, weiß was ich meine). Als wir es bemängelten, wurde man anhand eines rohen Stückes Fleisch am Tisch belehrt. Sehr unangenehm. Als ich feststellen durfte, dass es auch noch roh (wirklich roh, und ich wollte Medium) war, wurde es schließlich doch getauscht. Dabei musste ich mir aber auch noch dreimal anhören, dass ich ein komplett neues Stück bekommen habe. Und Wunder, diesmal ein Rumpsteak. Trotzdem - abermals unangenehm. Als wir fertig waren, hat sich hat sich die Bedienung für die Situation entschuldigt, es schien so, als hätte der Koch im Nachgang seinen Fehler bemerkt. Man wurde dann noch x-mal gefragt, ob denn dann alles Gut war. Wie oft denn noch? Schade, dass man seine Gäste für Deppen hält.

A very attractive Argentinian restaurant including tapas and a lounge bar in a cozy atmosphere. The menu keeps what it promises. I ordered a sirloin steak and ate it with great pleasure to the delight of the palate. Price/performance adapts to the quality of the food. The service was very friendly, attentive, unobtrusive and also well trained in drinks advice, e.g. brandy. The restaurant of my choice on my next visit to BadDriburg.

The food at the La Estancia steakhouse is a culinary delight. The guest's wishes are always taken into account and a delicious homemade aioli with fresh bread (of course also excellent) covers the hunger until the main course. We were very satisfied every time. Here the guest is still the customer/guest is still the king, as the saying goes. It also has to be said that if the weather is rather bad you can still sit outside very well because everything is largely covered. If you're still a little cold, you can turn on the heater or give you a blanket. That again about the service - really great! Food, service, ambience - all very good, keep it up 👍🏼

A very good investment for the future. The quality of the food provided is excellent. The same applies to the service and the ambience. The offer has been expanded with an additional high-quality tapas menu. The parking conditions in the immediate vicinity are very good. Conclusion: If you want to go out for a really good meal, you should make a reservation here.👌👍😎

Wir gehen oft Essen und bevorzugt Steak, aber wir haben bisher selten so ausgezeichnet gegessen. Auch die Atmosphäre und die Bedienung waren einfach toll. Wer gutes Essen zu schätzen weiß, sollte sich das nicht entgehen lassen.

Sorry, aber das Rumpsteak 300 g war ungenießbar. Medium bestellt, kam fast roh, voller Sehnen und Knorpel. Großzügiger Weise wurde bei der Abrechnung nur das 200 g Steak berechnet. Der Laden hat mich zweimal gesehen, das erste und gleichzeitig das letzte Mal.

Samstag Abend und wir suchen etwas zu essen. Schon am Vortag ist uns dieses Lokal aufgefallen. Die Frage ob wir reserviert haben, verneinen wir. Trotzdem wird ein Tisch gefunden. Als „Vorsuppe“ gibt es einen sehr guten Aperol Spritz. Das Essen ist schnell gewählt, der Wein auch. Das Personal inklusive des Chefs ist die ganze Zeit sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Laden ist ordentlich voll. Nachdem Wein und essen auf dem Tisch stehen, ist klar warum. Das Essen (Lamm für mich, gegrilltes Hähnchen für meine Frau) ist wirklich sehr gut. Dito der Wein. Später bitten wir noch um ein Taxi. Auch das wird erhöhrt und klappt. Wir danken für einen schönen Abend!

It is by far the best steakhouse I have ever been to. The food is amazing, the staff is super friendly and very attentive. There was an exceptionally large number of staff and therefore no waiting times. Everyone is very hardworking and reliable. The ambience is beautifully designed with nice light sources and great interior. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely go there again. Absolute MUST!

The steaks were not cooked to the desired level. I ordered medium (they ask for extra) and got rare. Unfortunately I had to have my plate returned twice. There is no bread in advance. A huge mountain of fries (also a bit limp), but the few beans on the plate were cold. The sauces are from the bag (Béarnaise). The presentation on the plates is kept very simple. The service is quick but unprofessional (staff wearing sneakers and short pants). There was almost only water in the Lillet. The side salad was delicious. Overall, it's just not enough for the price.

Als ich durch die Stadt geschlendert bin, fiel mir genau dieses Restaurant auf. Hab mich direkt dort hin gemacht und sofort wurde mein Wunsch auf gutes Essen erfüllt. Die Bedienung, der Service und co. waren einfach Klasse. Der Gruss aus dem Haus (Selbst gebackenes Handbrot) mit selbst gemachter Aioli war einfach Klasse. Von der Hühnerbrust die ich bekommen habe inkl Pommes ebenso. Das Essen war super Klasse, dass ich während meines Aufenthaltes nochmals vorbei schauen werde.

The quality of the ingredients is really top notch. Rarely have I eaten such tender beef There is still room for improvement in terms of presentation of the dishes. I think the price-performance ratio is okay. Given the high performance, the prices are very high by German standards.

My wife is in Bad Driburg for rehab and really enjoys going out to eat at the weekend (the food in the clinic could be prepared a little more lovingly :-)) We got perfectly fried meat here, tasted excellent and was served in the friendliest way. THE steakhouse in the Höxter district and beyond.

We waited almost two hours for the rest of the meal (fourth tapa). Ok, it was delivered to the wrong table, but if I hadn't asked, we wouldn't have waited any longer. All guests were repeatedly asked if everything was OK etc. except for us, perhaps the mistake would have been noticed beforehand. I don't understand why I see guests who sit for so long and don't even have the idea to ask what's going on. For this service and the really small portions, €45 was quite expensive; we would have paid the same in a top restaurant but received better service. The food was still very good, hence two stars.

Nice decor, delicious food at high prices. However, the service was pretty poor on the last visit. Drinks don't come, salads only come after request while the main course has already been eaten. Other drinks are also difficult to obtain. The floor is being loudly scrubbed behind the counter and the staff is eating at the next table while we need service. The service is good, fast and attentive. The food is delicious . I had baked pork medallions. There were none. But 2 small schnitzels, fried on the grill and then baked. I guess I thought I didn't know the difference... But it still tasted good. Normally good. What I expect in a restaurant, with "hot" prices. You have to say it like that. Quality is fresh and good. Every now and then you can enjoy it there.

Update 2024: We went there for a birthday dinner a few days ago and wished the prices were the same as 5 years ago. The food was tasty, but the portions were very manageable. However, this time we paid almost 200 euros for 4 people, with each person only ordering one dish (only two people steak and side dishes) and a soft drink. For a portion of fries for €5.00, there isn't even any mayo added, and the herb butter for the €42.00 steak (only meat, no side dishes) is charged extra. Two people in our group ordered chicken with rice and mushroom sauce (see picture). Here a piece of chicken fillet was served with a small bowl of sauce as well as a small salad and rice: for an exorbitant €39.50… Yes, eating out is a luxury and the prices for the innkeepers have also risen. Here, however, one has the impression that the expansion of the restaurant will be passed on 100% to the customers. Unfortunately there was no dish for the “smaller” wallet. The service was very helpful and attentive, but the plates were cleared while two people were still eating. _____2019______ The food tasted good but unfortunately a bit overpriced. We paid over 120 euros for 4 people, each of whom only had one drink and no one ate fillet or similar.

After a full day of enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Bad Driburg, enjoy a meal at this restaurant. We had not made a reservation but were allowed to sit on the terrace. Children's menu was well stocked. We also shared the Chateau Briand. Supplemented with baked potatoes and even more included delicacies. We licked our fingers. That, together with the friendly service, gives our family a big compliment and 5 stars.

Mein Filetsteak war ein Gedicht, wie bestellt Medium und super Geschmack. Die beiden Herren haben das Chateaubriand genossen. Auf Empfehlung rare, da es aufgeschnitten auf einer Wärmeplatte serviert wird und etwas nach gart. Auch die Beilagen haben gemundet , besonders die Champignons mit Zwiebel. Wir 3 waren uns einig, noch nie so lecker Steak gegessen

The food was on our table very quickly, just under 21 minutes (large order), perfect temperature and one thing I can say is that the guys know how to use the grill, just perfect and exactly how I wanted it.
