La Contea in Wiesloch

We ate at La Contea yesterday quite by chance. After asking, there was a free table outside that wasn't reserved. We found the atmosphere in the courtyard very pleasant. However, it could be made even more cozy. 😉 The dishes were very tasty. We would have liked a bit more potatoes, though. The pasta portions were generous. We briefly visited the vaulted cellar, and it's simply gigantic and hard to beat in terms of coziness.

The selection was very limited, and the pizza I had would have been unbearable compared to a pre-made pizza. The crust was hard and dry, and there wasn't a single grain of semolina to be found. It was simply a flat, dry slice. The dough didn't bubble at all, as you'd expect. The pasta was very simply prepared; a leaf of basil or something similar would have made a big difference. The space itself is very nice; unfortunately, there's no ventilation, so depending on the number of people, you're "standing in your own soup" after about 30 minutes. The service is very friendly. The people sitting next to me reported that the starter was very good.

Simply fantastic. A typically Italian atmosphere in this beautiful vaulted cellar! We ate with friends (8 people) and were thrilled. We were also treated to excellent wines. Absolutely excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Very, very friendly hosts! Fantastic!

A place to be. You usually need time—no, you're allowed to enjoy the time that dinner should take, to talk, savor, laugh, and simply be there, in a centuries-old sandstone vaulted cellar. Thank goodness for Franco and his lovely wife from La Contea.

I can recommend this restaurant. The food is very good, everything is fresh and tasty, the atmosphere is nice, the service is friendly, and you feel at home. We go there often and always enjoy it.

Very long waiting time (over an hour for the starter), pizza small (so small that you can't get enough without a starter) and not baked through, starter plate quite ok but nothing special. Only one white wine on the menu.

Unfortunately, as a vegetarian you have lost out here. You have to pay the full price and the meat is simply left out, which then also reduces the taste. Apparently the chef has no idea how to cook vegetarian food... portions (pizza) are very small. But even with pasta dishes, when I once ordered pasta with Gorgonzola sauce, there was hardly any sauce on it. Staff seems cold. The ambience is actually very nice, the vaulted cellar is great, but with a little feeling you could do a lot more with it. The prices are still moderate overall, including for the drinks, but too expensive for the size of the pizza, especially since the dough is not convincing either in terms of taste or consistency... and my pasta only had a little sauce, so overall it was too expensive.

My wife and I come here regularly after a family member recommended this wonderful restaurant to us. The value for money is 100% spot on. The food is delicious, the owners are incredibly friendly, and the ambiance is dreamy. I can recommend everyone to eat here at least once.

Pasta is very good. Unfortunately, the pizza isn't up to par. Prices are very reasonable. The selection is unfortunately limited; I'd rather have more pasta dishes and no or less pizza. The ambiance is very nice, set in an old wine cellar.

It is still the best pizza of Wiesloch, but the dough on that day was changed a bit and it did not taste Napolitan style.

It was our first time there, but not the last. The food was absolutely delicious. Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. A little hidden away but still very close to the center.

Food, service and ambience very good.

We had dinner here last week with 4 adults and were completely satisfied. We were served quickly and drinks and food came to the table quickly. The recommended dish of the day, homemade canneloni, was simply fantastic and the pizzas were great too. Another highlight was the rustic atmosphere in the basement, where the guest room is located. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday the two of us were at La Contea and had pizza. The ambience in the vaulted cellar is very nice and the furnishings are tasteful. The pizza was very tasty. Unfortunately it is only offered in one size, which is rather small. If you're really hungry, you'll have to order something else But the price-performance ratio is absolutely ok and the service was attentive and friendly. So we'd love to come back.

The food is very good, but a larger selection of drinks wouldn't be bad. Even dishes for intolerances other than salad wouldn't be bad either 😉

It's not that easy to eat well in Wiesloch in the evening. The three of us went downstairs to a rustic vaulted cellar. The service is good, but you should take your time - you can clearly feel the Italian peace and serenity here. The ambience is great and despite the basement we were able to have a very good time. The conversations at the neighboring tables were not disturbing. The food was very good and plentiful, and you can also choose your wine at the bar. We will come back.

Pizza is very small and expensive for the quality provided.

Leider weit entfernt vom Niveau vor Corona. Alleine sitzt man am Katzentisch, obwohl anderes frei ist ,das Fleisch bei Vitello Tonnato trocken, die Kapern ein Witz, die Thinfischsauce lieblos draufgeklatscht. Die Pizza leider minderwertig, viel Belag hilft nicht viel. Schade.

Waren super zufrieden. Top Service und Super Essen.

Nettes Lokal im Gewölbekeller. Essen war lecker, Wartezeit etwas lang.

Sehr leckeres und ausgefallenes Essen auf einer überraschend kurzen Speisekarte, z.B. Pizza Calabrese mit Schinken und Gorgonzola.

Tolles Restaurant im Kellergewölbe. Unser Essen war hervorragend, ebenso wie der persönliche Service.

Super leckeres Essen. Bedienung sehr freundlich und die Ambiente im Keller ausgezeichnet. Für mich eins der besten italienischen Restaurants .Komme gerne wieder .

Wie dieses Restaurant zu diesen Bewertungen kommt ist mir schleierhaft.Das Ambiente "Gewölbekeller" ist zwar sehr schön, das wars dann aber auch.Speisekarte (sehr abgespeckt,mit einfachen Standardgerichten) billig in Folie laminiert, was mir dann schon suspekt war,firmiert man doch als "Spezialitätenrestaurant".Bedienung bemüht,aber überfordert,da sie auch noch in der Küche mithelfen muss,zu der man einen kleinen Einblick geniessen kann,wenn man auf die Toilette geht... Chef ist mürrisch und unfreundlich,die Speisen,naja...Klapptische mit Ersatztischdecken stehen quasi mitten im Restaurant,vor der grossen Theke,die mit vielen,vielen Flaschen bestückt ist ,auf der Karte findet man nur eine Miniauswahl von einfachen Standardweinen. Bezahlung zu meiner Überraschung nur Bar!! Leider musste meine Begleitung aushelfen...peinlich,peinlich... Alles in allem aus meiner Sicht nicht zu empfehlen!

Was für ein Genuss. Vom gemischten Vorspeisenteller über die perfekte Dorade und die Pizza bis zum Weisswein und dem Grappa war alles einfach grandios und verboten lecker.

Großes Lob. Sehr schneller guter Service. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet und die Preise stimmen mit der dargebotenen Leistung überein. Die Lage kann man als Segen oder als Ärgernis betrachten. Das Restaurant liegt in einem Gewölbekeller welcher keinen Mobilfunkempfang zulässt. Absolute Weiterempfehlung. 👍

Pizza relativ klein, geschmacklich war es ok. Preise gehen auch. Wohl eher was für Stammgäste die mit dem Wirt gut können. Es gibt bessere Restaurants in Wiesloch.

Sehr gute italienische Mama-Küche. Schönes Ambiente und sehr gute Weine. Immer wieder empfehlenswert.

Schon ok, aber ... How can I put it? Insalata Mista gute Größe für 5,90, aber eher sauer. Die Pizza bisschen klein und - naja - ok. Vorspeisen Platte wohl eher warm und - gut - nicht so sehr ölig. Mh? Salz, Pfeffer muss man ordern. Kein Essig und Öl. Kein Aschenbecher draußen. Freundlichkeit so mittel.

Wir waren, seit längerem, dieses Mal in größerer Runde hier und es war jedes einzelne Gericht lecker wie immer. Der gemischte Vorspeisenteller ist sehr zu empfehlen. Weiter ist es immer gut nach Gerichten zu fragen die nicht auf der Karte stehen. Der Service ist ebenfalls super nett. Unser Lieblingsitaliener in der Gegend

Das essen und der Service war Super, die carbonara war sehr cremig und die Pizza war wie vom echten Italiener

Schönes Ambiente im Gewölbekeller und gutes Essen. Nur das alkoholfreie Weizenbier ist nicht so mein Geschmack.

Es gibt wohl nicht immer alles was auf der Karte steht, aber es schmeckt dafür umso besser.

Die Wild Bolognese war fantastisch!

Sehr leckeres Essen, schöner Gewölbekeller. Franco und Olivia sind nette Gastgeber. Besonders zu empfehlen ist der gemischte Vorspeiseteller.

Entdeckt dank Tripadvisor: Toller Hof, man fühlt sich wie in Italien! Wir finden es prima, dass die Karte eher knapp ist, das lässt Qualität vermuten. Essen nur durchschnittlich - warum? Saltimbocca: gute Qualität, Salbei Fehlanzeige, schmeckte, Gemüse war nur gekocht und ohne Würze, Pasta war lecker aber mehr nicht Vitello tonnato mit zu sparsamem Fisch, der Vorspeisenteller mit Grillgemüse (lecker), geschmacksarmen Caprese u Rucola. Wir hatten gute italienische Küche erwartet und waren eher ernüchtert. Bekannte Gäste werden sehr freundlich, fast schon familiär begrüßt und bedient. Man setzt sich dazu. Finde ich nett, nur geht damit der Blick auf den Service verloren. Als Neukunde zweitrangig haben wir daher kein zweites Getränk, Espresso, Dessert bestellt (bestellen können). Man merkt, d Personal fehlt das Serviceauge.
