La Bohème Schwabing in München

The food was consistently excellent. Unfortunately, only the four-course menu was initially presented as an option (€110 per person), and the actual menu was only presented upon request. Wine prices were not entirely understandable; everything was quoted per 0.1 liter and expensive even for Munich, as were all the dishes at the very top end for what was offered. Overall, the value for money was somewhat mixed, unfortunately.

For my wife's birthday, her son invited us to brunch at La Bohème in Schwabing. I can only praise the experience here: from the food, the ambiance, and especially the professional service, which also spread a cheerful mood, everything was perfect. The meal was a succession of wonderful taste experiences, from the first bite to the last course. And all in a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. The staff contributed a lot to this. I wish it were like this more often.

I highly suggest this restaurant if you visit Munich. Plenty of choices, great food, service and atmosphere.

Why the restaurant has a phone with an answering machine is a mystery to me after a year of returning. Only make reservations through OpenTable, as they won't call you back even two days in advance. When asked about this, the exceedingly snippy blonde "receptionist" said: "Oh, we're very busy, look what's going on here." This kind of staff/attitude is the beginning of the end. "Pride comes before a fall." The first hour was so loud, like a train station concourse, that conversation was impossible. Nevertheless, almost perfect service, top-notch food, also suitable for brunch & birthday parties, where it's quieter and the staff more relaxed.

Please only make reservations via OpenTable. ✓ The telephone/restaurant answering machine is merely a convenience and will neither be monitored nor listened to.

If you're looking for a special night out or a luxurious brunch, this is the place. Don't skip the tartare or one of their flambéed dishes for a bit of tableside drama! A true gem in Schwabing.

All in all, a rather average steakhouse with relatively high prices. We had to wait an unusually long time for each course and drinks. The concept also didn't convince us: A four-course meal for €110 per person, which two people have to share, leaves you with the feeling that you won't really get enough. The main course was advertised as 450g of fillet – a quantity we doubt. Therefore, ordering individually seems like a better option. In terms of taste, everyone in our group agreed that the food was average at best. The location is also quite loud, making it less suitable for romantic evenings. We probably wouldn't consider a return visit. Positive: very friendly service staff.

A very successful evening! Attentive service, great food, and a great atmosphere!

Fantastic food and outstanding service, we enjoyed it so much that we went two nights in a row. The steak was grilled in front of our table over open fire which created a unique experience. On the first evening a magician who introduced himself as George Bush came to our table and his card tricks and mind reading were absolutely astonishing. He even managed to unlock a phone despite a strong password. This was one of the most impressive performances I have ever witnessed at a restaurant. The combination of atmosphere, food and service made both evenings truly unforgettable.

Four of us were there one weeknight. Due to the heat, we opted for an indoor table, which was quite bearable. The ambiance is stylish and chic without feeling cold – despite the large, high-ceilinged room. There are different areas with different tables, which adds interest to the interior, and a very spacious, beautiful, and chilled outdoor area. After we ordered our drinks (the Negroni was amazing), we were served focaccia with excellent olive oil for dipping. To try it out, we had the Wagyu Experience on the hot stone as a starter, which was very good. However, we had the impression that the stones cooled down relatively quickly. We found these premium cuts tasted best with the wonderful salt. For the main course, everyone had their favorite steak, and yes, it was fillet and not some other trendy cut, but it was divine: a crispy, caramelized crust with a juicy, tender center. Served with pyramid salt. Really, you don't need anything else... Nevertheless, we ordered various sides, so the whole table was full of delicious side dishes to try. From Caesar salad, mixed salad (with a perfectly balanced dressing), burnt eggplant with ash, gratinated spinach (absolutely amazing), wild broccolini, truffle fries (OMG), to the bacon-covered beans (which were unexpected and therefore even better). We thought we needed a few more sauces, but it was unnecessary with such wonderful meat. Although the sauces (e.g., demi-glace) were very good and rich in flavor. After a short break, we had the bold idea of ​​sharing dessert. Honestly? That was really too much... All in all, a fantastic evening with attentive, patient, friendly, and relaxed service. They always had an eye on us and an ear for us. It feels so good. The only thing we'll do differently next time: everyone will order a different dessert and everyone can try it with their spoon... We've got it covered.

If you have enough money in your wallet, you can take a look at the menu prices and try to whet your appetite.

The food was very good, but the service could have been friendlier. Ketchup and mayo cost €1 each when you order fries, when a glass of wine costs €24 and a 0.75 ml bottle costs €9.90, which I find a bit cheeky. Still, eat it 👍🏼

Well, the food itself was good, even if the wait between the starter and the main course "only" took an hour, and a McDonald's burger would have tasted great in that time. The problem was more the service. It wasn't a problem, it just wasn't there. No one seemed to care for the table, and ordered drinks arrived late or not at all. They also felt it was more important to chat with each other on the terrace, which was deserted due to the bad weather, than to serve the guests. It's a shame, even though the food was quite good, I wouldn't go here again...

Unfortunately, you have to select a star to rate, otherwise I wouldn't give it any at all! I don't know where to begin with the dishes we returned because the food was either drenched in sauce or overcooked. We didn't eat anything, and absolutely nothing was taken off the bill until we said it was going too far! You wait a long time for service, and unfortunately, nothing runs smoothly. The problem with the whole thing, though, is the prices. If everything were half the price, you shouldn't expect too much, but at such an expensive restaurant, you expect different standards. Truffle fries were €18, regular fries were €13 for the smallest portion I've ever seen, and no, the fries weren't made of gold, and at the best steakhouse in Germany they cost a maximum of €10 if they're homemade. We tried to politely explain the situation to the manager, but he left, argued with us, and refused to bring us the bill. (He was a tall man with dark blond, slightly unwashed hair.) Ultimately, we left, starving, and went to another restaurant. The price/performance ratio was truly inadequate, and the steakhouse is incapable of cooking a steak to order. Absolutely not recommended.

Delicious food in the restaurant, excellent steaks, a good location, and a pleasant summer terrace. ❗️ But I would like to point out one important detail to the restaurant owner: the table decorations. For a restaurant of this class and price range, bare tables are completely inappropriate. If you don't want to use white cloth tablecloths, then at least use beautiful, high-quality paper placemats – laid out fresh for each new guest. Especially on the terrace, the current lack of these details significantly detracts from the atmosphere.

A truly beautiful and luxurious restaurant with the finest dishes. Simply incredible.

Brunch at "La Boheme" on Easter Sunday was filled with great anticipation and high expectations. We found the fact that you had to provide your credit card details when making your online reservation a bit unusual, but the restaurant was somehow understandable, and it didn't stop us from booking and going. The reception was warm and relaxed. Our "head waiter" and contact person for our visit was attentive, explained everything to us (flying // sharing // drinks), so we felt welcome and in good hands. Then we started with a berry shot, delicious orange juice, and rose prosecco – which never ran out; refills were reliably and generously provided. Delightful for the eyes and palate: Amuse-Géule >> three "Magentratzerl" (stomach tarts), consisting of taco with avocado, mini quiche, and mini bruschetta. The other dishes, as listed on the menu, arrived "flying in," were briefly explained by the waiter, and devoured with relish! In between, we had a latte or espresso macchiato, and later, we also had a Bloody Mary and one or two espresso martinis. All in all, the dishes were beautifully presented, fresh, and high-quality. Highlights and a few comments about the menu: • Fine truffle salami • Super creamy chia bowl • Deconstructed Egg Benedict is a nice idea/variation in the presentation; it would have been perfect with a bit more hollandaise sauce. • The crispy duck was unfortunately not crispy and rather bland in flavor (unseasoned), there wasn't much of a pomelo to taste, and overall, in our opinion, this was the weakest dish. • The subsequent dishes with tuna, beef, and shrimp were very successful; only with a classic ceviche would we have preferred more "oomph" in the form of coriander, lime, ginger, garlic... in other words, "leche de tigre." • The fin de claire dishes were spectacularly presented—worthy of a good oyster—and were fresh and delicious. • "The Peak" was truly the highlight of the brunch, with balanced dishes that were truly harmonious. The glass of red wine I ordered with it got lost in the hustle and bustle, but that wasn't a big deal. The waiters and waitresses were really busy, constantly on their feet, and always friendly, attentive, and in a good mood. • The desserts weren't really our thing; the crêpes Suzettes were actually just sweet, with a barely noticeable Grand Marnier and only a tiny orange segment. But maybe that's just us, and probably partly due to the fact that we were already quite full. Thank you for the great brunch in a very nice atmosphere; it was an experience that was definitely worth every cent.

It was extremely good! I invited my girlfriend there for her birthday. Her reaction three days later is still overwhelmingly positive. The service was outstanding, especially due to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The steak was cooked to perfection for us, among the best we've ever eaten, and the appetizers are highly recommended. Overall, everything we ate was fantastic. An absolute highlight and highly recommended.

It must be admitted that the steaks are perfect and the meat is of the highest quality. The prices, however, are just as juicy as the steaks themselves, but definitely acceptable for the quality. Unfortunately, the side dishes are significantly lower in quality and are overpriced. The ambiance is rather posh, which certainly won't appeal to everyone.

We were here for brunch once. I considered the country because the price was still quite reasonable. There were four of us, and all four of us loved it. We felt welcome, the food was very good and beautifully presented, and the time flew by.

Terrible attitude and service. Took 5 mins to take water order and then another 10 mins to bring it. Starters were good but mains took like 50 mins to cook and when arrived the 90 euro steaks were over cooked and when questioned they didn’t want to take accountability. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. Then when they brought the recooked steak back the sides and sauces were cold and didn’t think to swap them out. Didn’t apologise and had an attitude all night. Defintely wouldn’t recommend to anyone as for the price point and marketed as fine dining you would expect at least top service and ambience even if the food is a little off. 0/10.

If you're talking about proper service, then it's really bad. If friends are more important than guests, then something has been going wrong here for a long time! I've known this place since day one, and service was always the problem, but it's gotten even worse since my last visit. With prices like these, you simply can't afford for guests to wait 15-20 minutes to order a drink, let alone food! Because there's no time, your friend next to you has to get something to nibble on, and your bro has to say hello too! I beg your pardon, where are we??? As a restaurateur, that was all nicely worded! Kudos to the nice lady at the entrance!

This is a nice and obviously hype place. On the really positive side: great meat and super friendly and professional staff. Definitly to to repeat

It was a truly fantastic experience. The food was amazing. We got free bread with delicious olive oil as a starter. We ordered spinach with Parmesan as a side dish (my partner and I said the best spinach we've ever eaten - highly recommended) and rosemary fries (also delicious). For the main course, the Chateaubriand Aberdeen for two people (medium) was simply wonderful. The presentation at the table alone (see video) - thanks to the very good quality of the meat, the superb marbling and the sous vid cooking - made it so tender, delicious and cooked to perfection that I would say it was one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Very nice ambience, the restrooms are also very well stocked 🤣 The service was also top-notch and they had a very good wine recommendation (we had 300ml of red wine), plus a bottle of water and a 0.5l shandy for a total of €200 with everything included. Many thanks also to the guy with the hat 🤣😉 who kindly gave us recommendations for nearby cocktail bars upon request, since we're not from the area. We'll definitely be back when we're back in Munich. Thanks for the unforgettable evening!

Are you looking for an unforgettable taste experience? Then you've just found it. The refinement of meat right before the customers' eyes is a true spectacle. And if you have any wishes, the well-coordinated staff will be happy to fulfill them.

We went to the Flying Brunch at La Boheme and really enjoyed the whole experience. A lot is offered for the rather high price of €99. There were nine courses in total, and double portions were always available upon request. Most of the food tasted very good. Service was prompt and friendly, although we did notice some differences among the waiters when it came to their generosity with drinks. Generally speaking, we always got everything we asked for. The crowd was pleasant and not as posh as we had feared. A definite recommendation for a somewhat special brunch.

Four of us were there for brunch and were thoroughly spoiled. I think there were up to 12 courses in total instead of the promised 8, served over three hours. Very friendly service and delicious food, plus a magician's performance. Recommended for groups. It was fun. Tip: Save room for the last courses.

The Boheme has long been an institution for a first-class brunch. Unfortunately, our visit today did not meet the usual standard. Both the quality of the food and the service were not convincing. We hope that it was just a blip and that the Boheme will soon find its way back to its former strength.

A very excellent sharing dinner that was very rich with a starter, main course and dessert. The steak was flambéed and served at the table and was cooked to perfection. The price-performance ratio was definitely right for this rich dinner. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive, making you feel very comfortable in this restaurant. La Bohème is a very nice location and can only be recommended to everyone!!!

True, the restaurant isn't cheap (but that shouldn't come as a surprise and it's easy to find out beforehand). On our part, nothing was left to be desired. We decided on the sharing dinner. Everything was perfectly coordinated and tasted very good. The chateaubriand was flambéed at the table (a great show of course) and was cooked to perfection. The portions were so generous that we were more than full at the end. The atmosphere was modern and cozy, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We felt completely comfortable. Despite the fine dining, you didn't feel out of place at all as a person who rarely affords it. We can't judge the parking situation, but what we really appreciated was the tram stop right in front of the door - so neither of us had to drive that evening. The only thing I would criticize would be that the online reservation didn't work. But since this is due to OpenTable and not directly to the restaurant, I don't want to deduct any points for it. We then made a reservation by phone.

Padron pimientos was not like the peppers we have in Spain, we really liked the truffle fries. We ate Wagyu beef, it was delicious but the portions were incredibly small. With the 300 euros we paid here, we ate top-tier Kobe beef at the best restaurant in Tokyo. I can say that the prices are incredibly high. Other than that, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is excellent. As a result, I do not recommend eating wagyu beef.

Very good steakhouse at the chic Schwabinger Tor. The staff is very friendly and answers all questions about the food competently. The steaks were delicious and the flambéing at the table was of course an eye-catcher. Stylish ambience with seating islands and enough space between the tables. Funny idea that you can buy the chefs a glass of wine, who then thank you at the table and toast (they didn't drink). We would love to come back here.

The quality of the meat here is simply exceptional. Chateaubriand flambé in cognac, flavored with thyme, is a must not to be missed – an explosion of flavors and perfectly cooked. The accompaniments are also up to par, with an absolutely delicious truffle puree. The service is impeccable and perfectly matches the quality of the place. Brunch was a rip off : tiny portions weighted to the gram, lack of options, slow service, average food (and drinks) at an exorbitant price (100 eur). This "flying buffet" is simply a pre-set menu, synonym for "limited dishes". For the price equivalent of an entry level star Michelin, la bohème is far off. Also, we lagged upfront an intolerance for one of the persons, and they simply removed the dishes instead of offering substitutes.

Food 5/5, service 5/5, ambience 5/5 but still only 1/5 overall?? Why? Because of the water prices. It's simply ridiculous when 1L of beer (2x5.5€) costs almost the same as 0.75L of Adelholzener water (9.9€). When it comes to food prices, you don't have to make up the margin from the water. Simply outrageously expensive, even for someone who likes to spend more on good food. Alcoholic people come to power - it's almost cheap compared to water. Everything is absolutely great, but in my opinion that is outrageous.

Super nice service, you don't experience something like that so often in Germany, professional, friendly, trained, just great. The food was delicious, great show, of course we've eaten better steaks, but everything together was really perfect. The prices are corresponding for Munich.
