La Bohème Schwabing in München

Brunch was a rip off : tiny portions weighted to the gram, lack of options, slow service, average food (and drinks) at an exorbitant price (100 eur). This "flying buffet" is simply a pre-set menu, synonym for "limited dishes". For the price equivalent of an entry level star Michelin, la bohème is far off. Also, we lagged upfront an intolerance for one of the persons, and they simply removed the dishes instead of offering substitutes.

Food 5/5, service 5/5, ambience 5/5 but still only 1/5 overall?? Why? Because of the water prices. It's simply ridiculous when 1L of beer (2x5.5€) costs almost the same as 0.75L of Adelholzener water (9.9€). When it comes to food prices, you don't have to make up the margin from the water. Simply outrageously expensive, even for someone who likes to spend more on good food. Alcoholic people come to power - it's almost cheap compared to water. Everything is absolutely great, but in my opinion that is outrageous.

Super nice service, you don't experience something like that so often in Germany, professional, friendly, trained, just great. The food was delicious, great show, of course we've eaten better steaks, but everything together was really perfect. The prices are corresponding for Munich.

The perfect place for special occasions or to treat yourself to a lovely evening. The staff's positive impact and motivation to provide guests with a pleasant atmosphere are immediately apparent. We opted for the sharing dinner with a lobster and gin variation. The Chateaubriand Black Aberdeen was simply fantastic! In short, everything is highly recommended. The prices are quite high, but you get a lot for that!

The brunch in particular is a real highlight: it costs €99, but exquisite food and drinks are brought directly to the table for 4 hours - a pleasure at the highest level! A big compliment goes to the entire team, who ensure a great atmosphere with great humor and lots of happiness. Everything is actually really great, but unfortunately the prices are too high for what you get. 10€ for water. Aperitif €13 etc. It's really difficult to deliver something that can match these prices. The service is wonderful and the ambience and music are also great. If it were cheaper I would really like to go there more often.

We were there for Sunday brunch. The food is excellent and we were also lucky with the service. Some things didn't come to the table very quickly, but everything was taken care of :) It was a shame, however, that the concept had changed a bit, because now you only get the little treats to share and the little courses in between, so we had to make a decision. Which I think is a shame for the price. I would have liked to eat everything like that and, if necessary, on my own plate. Maybe this will be reconsidered. I found it much more pleasant before.

Today we attended brunch at la boheme. Since I have to eat gluten-free for health reasons, my selection is often relatively small. However, at this brunch I didn't have the feeling of giving up at all. So many dishes were prepared especially for me, a lot of effort was put into this. Hosted a business dinner here with guests from across the globe and everyone agreed it was a fantastic evening! Weeks later I am still receiving notes about the amazing food was, the wonderful atmosphere, and the stellar service. The private room was perfect for our group (~30 guests), and the onsite staff were incredibly personable and so helpful. The even put on a great show when preparing the steak course. Planning was a breeze and made super simple by Caroline. If I'm ever back in Munich, whether for business or leisure, I'll definitely be coming back.

Unfortunately quite disappointed. Had high expectations going to this restaurant, expecting high class service and exceptional food. Went there on a Wednesday evening. Result was disappointing, service was not amazing, long waiting time to get served, wrong orders brought to the table, had to ask 3 times for a bottle of wine. Service was a bit snobbish. Food was ok, nothing amazing. For that price (over 450€ for 4 persons), you get better food and service elsewhere in Munich. Nice wine card and desert was good too. Decoration of the restaurant is nevertheless very nice, music a tad loud when the room is full, but it’s fine and common. Overall the restaurant give a feel of “Schikeria” and “instgramable” place, but not a good place to eat.

We went to La Bohème for brunch yesterday. Ambiance: The restaurant generally offers a nice ambience. The furnishings are tasteful and create a pleasant atmosphere. Entertainment: The magician was great and created a good atmosphere. His tricks were very entertaining. :) Reception and service: The reception was friendly and attentive. In general the service from all employees was very nice. Unfortunately, the service left a bit to be desired as the brunch progressed. The waitresses seemed overwhelmed at times, which was reflected in forgotten orders. We had to be reminded of this several times. To apologize: the store was very busy. Food and Drinks: The food tasted very good. The portions for four people are sometimes too small, while tables for two sometimes received the same portions. We wanted to reorder a course because the portion was too small for us, but the waiter replied somewhat bluntly that this was no longer logistically possible. The egg course was completely forgotten at first and when we brought this up, instead of the Eggs Benedict / truffled scrambled eggs we only received the truffled scrambled eggs. Our absolute highlight was the steak. This was very good quality. Dessert was forgotten at several tables and came when asked, but only partially (what was still there). The selection of drinks leaves nothing to be desired and there is something for everyone. For my taste, the cremant and white wine could have been chilled a little better. Cleanliness: The fabric chairs had stains on the seat cushions. There were two faucets on the toilet, one of which was very crooked and the other faucet was completely missing. The idea of ​​the cotton towels is nice, but fresh towels were no longer available after 12:30 p.m. Value for money: The value for money leaves mixed feelings. For 99 euros per person we would have expected a better overall performance. Basically it was a nice brunch with good food and delicious drinks, but would I pay €99 for it again? I don't think so. Conclusion: Overall, the restaurant offers a nice ambience, good-tasting food and has nice service staff. We would have expected better overall performance for the price quoted. I don't particularly like the "toilet situation" in restaurants in this price range. However, the entertaining magic show was a pleasing plus.

Man oh man, the meat was good! This was my best flank steak ever...

The food at this place is fantastic - definitely worth a try if you love steaks. The starter sharer is also worth a try. What I do appreciate is that the sides taste amazing as well - can recommend the truffle mashed potatoes and the spinach! The atmosphere is okay if it’s not busy - the sound design is not well done so it gets quite loud (which is annoying if you’re a bigger party). The tables can also be quite close to one another which also takes away from the atmosphere. I recommend asking for the round tables - they feel cozier. The service is very “meh”. I would not call it proactive - you have to ask for a lot of things. You sort of feel like a burden to the staff (not all of them - I.e the staff at the entrance to take your jacket and show you to your seat are nice and quick). When I join my party I expect to be handed the menu and asked what I would like to drink. Except I found the oversized menu on my chair and having to fight to order something to drink. Real shame given that you will end up spending €100 per person. A bonus for the staff is that when you check a special occasion when reserving, such as a birthday, you will receive a desert with a candle. I would recommend this restaurant once - if you’re from out of town and are looking for a fine dining/ good steak. For locals there are other options.

Here, eating out becomes an experience. Both the service and the food are very good. It's fun to see how the steaks are flambéed again right at the table. The opportunity to buy the kitchen staff a glass of wine is a really nice gesture.

The smaller tables were a bit strangely designed so that there was just enough space for the food on them and you sat opposite each other so that you couldn't have a good conversation at the noise level. Unfortunately for both of us the steak was quite tough and really not good for the price. The side dishes, on the other hand, were really delicious and the waiter was nice too.

Loved our meal, the shrimp and beef appetizers were fantastic. For the main meal we ordered the steak for sharing, it was an awesome experience to have them cook the steak at your table! This place serves an excellent brunch with excellent quality price ratio. Brunch comes in a successive of plates brought to the table and includes a selection of wines and drinks which can be ordered along the way. We had for instance some dry cuts, hummus, scrambled eggs with truffle, gyoza, risotto with truffle, fine meat and fish, crepes, etc. I really like the concept and the service. Even though everything comes in small portion, you have really plenty of food overall! I recommend highly and will come back for sure !

Exceptional dining room staff, Bojan looked after us throughout the evening with attention and kindness without ever appearing intrusive. The food without any flaw with also a lot of attention to allergy problems (I have celiac disease). There are good steakhouses, there are very good steakhouses – and then there is this restaurant. Without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, I have ever visited in Munich. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can tell that the emphasis here is on quality and style. The decor is modern but not over the top, a perfect mix of elegance and coziness. The service, simply impeccable. From the reception to the last sip of espresso after the meal, everything was well thought out, attentive and friendly. The staff is not only professional, but also warm and knowledgeable about the menu and the wines on offer. The meat quality, first class. Tender, juicy and cooked exactly as I ordered. You can immediately tell that the highest standards are applied to the product.

You need to put credit card as guarantee when you make the reservation. They send you SMS one day before to double confirm your attendance. I like how they organize. The service is good, they are kind and friendly, but the atmosphere was okay, not practically special. The food was okay too, we ordered regular dishes and there was no surprise. You could find underground parking easily. I’m not sure if I will ever go back.

Then we started on a true journey of pleasure: 🥐 Delicious baked goods, plus fine salmon, jam, cheese and a delicious truffle salami - a dream for gourmets! 🍳 Followed by Eggs Benedict & truffle scrambled eggs, cooked to perfection and an absolute delight. 🦐 Shrimp, crab, tender beef and of course the legendary truffle risotto - a taste experience like no other! 🥞 And the crowning finale: Crêpe Suzette, cheesecake in a glass, vanilla ice cream and so much more - you can hardly list it! And if that wasn't perfect enough, there are as many Espresso Martinis as you want! ☕🍸 Simply amazing - you would actually have to provide a room with a bed afterwards because you would like to fall straight into a food coma! 😄 The service? Flawless! The entire team is friendly, warm and absolutely attentive - every wish is fulfilled in no time. You just feel completely comfortable, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the three hours fly by. We were there today for Sunday brunch. If I could I would give more than 5 stars. TOP service, incredibly delicious food. There was something for every taste and despite the "fixed" menu sequence in the flying buffet, there was a vegetarian and/or vegan alternative in every course after we had communicated it. In addition, great care was taken to ensure that for religious reasons there was no pork or alcohol for any of us or that the alternative was pointed out. The service was very very good. Price-performance absolutely top. Also great atmosphere, clean and handicapped accessible toilets.

Good expensive steaks with a bit of a show!

The brunch is sensational and the drinks are generously refilled. Everything was perfect and you go home satisfied. Price-performance very good.

The self-confidence and the show are good, the food too, but unfortunately the service doesn't keep up. The food was really good, but we were constantly interrupted by the service in our conversation. The food comes very quickly, which is quite rushed and uncomfortable. There was barely 5 minutes between clearing away the starter and serving the main course and there wasn't even the opportunity to order the wine for the main course in between. One gets the impression that the guests should be moved through as quickly as possible. Sure, you can eat slowly - but then it will get cold. But if the bill feels like it takes almost as long as the meal, then you can save yourself the hassle... And if the drinks that were actually supposed to be canceled are on the bill and the whole thing takes another 10 minutes, then that's annoying. Service level and price level/demand do not match.

As always, most of the food experiences in Munich are a disaster. I went to La Boheme for my birthday with my wife and a couple of friends. La Boheme on first look looks ok the price for what you are ordering, but as soon as it arrives it is crazy expensive. The food is not well seasoned and disappointing. With the almost 500 euros bill, I regreted baddly, and felt ashamed for taking my friends there! Nobody was happy! The enviroment is very dark, so you see poorly what you are eating. And to place an order took ages. Never again!

Brunch was absolutely fantastic and amazing value - bring enough time to enjoy everything!

Went to la Boehme for brunch today as a couple. Arrival was a bit unusual (very long queue - as is usually the case with some mobile device manufacturers when a new device is released). Tables are very close together. Food was good and plentiful, but the hype is in my opinion. after unfounded. You get drinks for free, apparently visiting here is also very popular because of the “free” alcohol. Ordering non-alcoholic drinks makes you feel completely out of place. The waiter with a hat wasn't very friendly, even with a generous tip of €10 there was no thank you or anything like that. Price-performance is not justified - mass production. We won't come a second time.

If there were more than 5 stars I would give even more. I went there with my partner and it was a really nice experience from start to finish. The reception and service was just great and super friendly. We immediately felt comfortable. The steak was flambéed and served on site, which gave the whole thing even more flair. It was perfectly medium to the point. As a starter we had tuna and every bite was a taste journey! The prices are high but more than justified for the portions and quality. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and it's definitely not the last time we've been here!!! Thank you for the wonderful evening!

Flying Brunch - crashed service. We went to La Bohème for New Year's brunch today. When I was looking for Munich's best brunch, I quickly came across this place and the menu immediately impressed me. 8 courses, fresh oysters seem to leave nothing to be desired. So the anticipation was great! Arrived, greeted very nicely & I also heard straight from my reservation that it was supposed to be pescatarian for us. Space & ambience great, until then Wow! When it started and the waiter introduced himself, it was immediately clear that the New Year's Eve party had probably not yet been completely cured. This meant that our two special requests (no meat and no alcohol) were too complicated. First there was champagne and when we remembered that we don't drink alcohol, it was topped up with a pat on the back and the comment "1 glass is fine today". The first coffee took just under an hour, orange juice came on the third reminder after about 1.5 hours. Our wish of “no meat” never arrived. Salami and ham were served right from the start and continued throughout the courses. I gave up on the 5th reminder. Regarding the quality of the food: everything that came to our table was really excellent! From truffled scrambled eggs to Bircher muesli to risotto and vegetable fritatta. What the kitchen delivered was really excellent. Unfortunately, it was now clear that our waiter was no longer getting sober today but was working on further building up his intoxication. Not a single order arrived on the first attempt. Then came the highlight: oysters! - Unfortunately not a single one for us... our waiter distributed these at his own discretion and then there was nothing left for us. Disappointing! As an apology there was the next glass of wine 😄 From here on we simply enjoyed the breakfast experience as a breakfast comedy. The manager apologized personally and had tuna sashimi in his luggage, which was really excellent! In summary, I keep my fingers crossed for anyone who dares, with the right service the brunch could certainly keep its promise.

We went to La Bohème for the famous brunch on a Saturday and enjoyed the full 7 courses in about 3.5 hours. Every single course was a highlight, we were particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail on every plate. A real treat for all the senses! The ambience was great too - stylish and inviting. The only thing you notice is the slightly louder background noise, but that's understandable given the full load. The service was extremely friendly and quick, if a bit clumsy at times. Nevertheless, we felt completely at home and would recommend this brunch experience to anyone who appreciates good food in a great atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

Perfect for a dinner for two - not only incredibly good quality but also exceptional service. Must Dine In in Munich!

Very tasty food with very courteous staff and good service. Even though there isn't a lot of choice for vegans here, the service and kitchen cater to special requests and prepare vegan dishes that also taste delicious.

We have been to La Bohème several times and are always very satisfied. Food, service and drinks are always of a high standard. Best wishes go out to Chris in the kitchen, cheers! We look forward to seeing you again, but this time with us :)
