I would like to express some mixed feelings about this restaurant as well, especially after my friends review was intentionally taken down as being considered " defamation". We went out in April to spend some quality time together as friends. We were very surprised by how the place looks so per total (the place and the music) created a great atmosphere! The food was alright. But then the service was already from the beginning a little shady (asked for a wine menu, never received one only the waiter's recommendation, poor attitude). The cherry on top of the cake was the bill at the end. My friends and I left at different times during the night so everybody paid their own food. Most of us shared the wine and shots plus one appetizer so that should have been the only things left on the bill at the end. One of my friends stayed with me until the end and big was our surprise when we ended up paying for things we never had on our table. We also left 30 euros tips for this specific bill. When we checked outside, we immediately called our friends to check with them if any of the items belonged to them and they forgot to pay them. Everyone paid for their consumption and had the bank statement to prove it but the main waiter (the older one) only wrote on pieces of papers for two of my friends what they need to pay and for the rest they even did a bill. Meaning all the extra was even added after my friends paid. We spent more than 30 minutes to bargain with them and try to repair their wrong doing, and we were specifically not allowed to talk to the MANAGER which we later saw shouting at the waiters in a very aggressive and scary way. They first took 50 euro out from the cash drawer and threw it to us like "take this and we're good", my friend was taken in the kitchen by the elderly waiter who tried to explain the paper situation, but we didn't give up and we fixed the bill with the pen only to discover it was actually 97.3 euro difference approximately. They gave us 100 euro back and never said sorry. All of my friends that paid separately also left tips which I find even more unfair from them not to have told us to take our tips back as well. I'm a restaurateur myself and eat out a lot, today for the first time at Kymata. Highly recommended from reception to farewell. They had the warm and cold starter variation, sea wolf in a salt crust for the main course and a chocolate souffle for dessert. The food and service was very professional. I read some of the bad reviews in advance. I think these reviews are from people who go out to eat every now and then and spend 30 euros and think that they buy it locally and that it should all be about them. But that's not the case. People should appreciate and reward such service at this time. If something really goes wrong, it always makes sense to contact management directly instead of writing nasty comments straight away. I'm definitely looking forward to the next time at Kymata.

The four of us had made a reservation and were supposed to sit outside in the evening when the weather was cold. There would only be room for 1.5 hours inside, which is far too short for a cozy evening for four. Waiters rude, stroppy and arrogant. I'm sorry, but that's not possible.

But in the end, unfortunately, exactly the opposite turned out. It all started with the fixed menus, which are only available for larger reservations (10 people or more). I had made a reservation for around 18-20 guests and planning with these menus was very difficult as not everyone was meat or fish, but unfortunately the Kymata did not offer any other alternative. Nevertheless, everyone was forced to decide on a menu, with the comment that we don't eat pork and that this should be replaced with other alternatives; Afterwards we were given new menu selections that were €15 more expensive. 6 days before my planned celebration, I received an email that my old colleague, who is no longer employed there, forgot to mention: that there is an additional drinks flat rate in addition to the menu selections and that each guest pays between €30-40 in addition to the menu and drinks Must order (alcoholic) - by 10:30 p.m. From then on the club begins in Kymata and after that you are still required to order drinks. If I could, I would give even fewer stars. First of all, the table reservation was messed up. Apparently the competencies are not clearly distributed here. We've been waiting for our food for exactly 1.5 hours and there's no end in sight... In the meantime, guests who came after us were served starters and main courses. And that with a not unusually high number of guests, considering the number of tables. After repeated reminders about time and that we would like to reduce the purchase price if it took any longer, we were asked to leave. The fact that the whole thing was supposed to be a birthday party makes it all the worse.

The location is really beautiful. BUT ! My friend had reserved a table for two for her birthday, 5 weeks in advance! The reservation was also confirmed to her by email, when we got there we were greeted condescendingly, this service person or whatever, coldly told us that she had no room for us and pointed a dismissive finger at a single stool the bar. We explained to her that we had made a reservation weeks ago and she simply shrugged her shoulders and left us standing at the bar. Every now and then she glanced over at us slightly but that was it. After waiting about 15 minutes to see if we might be offered a seat, we decided to go. SEND MICKI for nothing this unsympathetic energy, it's better to go voluntarily, that way you can scare people away on your birthday. Thanks for NOTHING.

The new ambience in Kymata modern is really well done. The seating areas are comfortable, there is space for 5-6 people and the atmosphere is luxurious. There isn't much left of the old Kymata with friendly staff and good food. There are many waiters but unfortunately it takes too long for someone to finally come to the table. The food has also become too "modern" with small portions, limp fries and sour Greek yogurt! That should not be. This can be done better.

Unfortunately, we couldn't tell from the website that the new location was a disco restaurant, otherwise we would probably have been less disappointed with the ambience because we wouldn't have come. I can only share the experiences of the other reviews, the food was dry/cold and completely overpriced. Gyros out at 9 p.m. With the souvlaki you are asked whether you want rice or fries, only to find out later that the portion of fries (maximum 50g) is charged extra for €5.80. The service was mediocre at best, but what do you expect when you can't even understand the person sitting next to you. The vegan souvlaki was outrageously small, the vegetables you were talking about weren't available, the falafel was dry (I suspect it was warmed up again instead of freshly prepared) and the rice given was about a spoonful. This place may be recommended for parties, but certainly not for food.

Modern cool atmosphere, very stylish, music a bit too loud for my taste (before the party). In my opinion, the price/performance ratio isn't right, so I expect everything to be tip top. Service: not really friendly, hectic, there were 2 groups, so we (only 2) were pretty neglected/ignored at first. Our table wasn't cleaned. Eat: Starter: tasted very good, but didn't get any bread, only after asking twice. Main course: the fish platter (for 2 people) costs almost 50 E without side dishes, I would have expected a little more on the plate. My shrimp wasn't edible, that can happen, I reported it and... nothing. No apology, no replacement, just nothing. A pity.

That was one of the worst evenings in Munich. I have never experienced such terrible service in this entire country. It hurts my heart for all Greeks... It's the culture that can only embarrass people like this with a lot of effort! We didn't even get a main course! Ordered water 3 times, cola 6 times (!)... nothing there. Dried up word literally... Security like from the other world. Just don't let yourself in after the razchen without saying a word... When settling the bill, the waiter's comment: A tip of less than 5 percent is disrespectful... I'm just speechless... Never again

We were very excited that we had discovered such a great, luxurious Greek restaurant here in this city. You immediately feel like you're on vacation. The food and drinks are excellent. Delicious cocktails, the service is sensational and totally attentive. From half past twelve the mixed music gets louder and all guests are then in a good mood. The quality and atmosphere is amazing, we will definitely come back and we say thank you.

Very mixed impression overall. Booked a table for 20:30 Saturday to enjoy a girls night out (couple of them were visiting restaurant during the day, so the expectations were set high). Food-wise fantastic: Moussaka was very properly made with the good slicing and proportion of minced meat, just like home-made somewhere in Greece. The hybrid dining / party concept is a rare thing in Munich and definitely a good idea, but the execution is unfortunately below par due to several crucial moments: - overall the place is rather chaotic, both with seating and navigation, unfortunately no one pays attention to anyone entering and going around. Except for a bouncer…out of curiousity, why would a restaurant in Laim have a bouncer at the entrance? - full inability to speak to the people sitting directly at your table because music is blaring extremely loud and is accompanied by a full-fledge „Eurovision style“ lightshow. I love good entertainment and visual effects, but somewhere starting from 22:00. - we were waiting at the bar for 20 min for supposed reservation made a week in advance - as it was not enough, after ordering and receiving the first round of drinks, we were actively being asked to take our glasses and change tables as a „better fitting“ bigger male group has arrived. That was quite a surprising moment that I have never experienced anywhere else before and found it, honestly, complete nonsense of very openly prioritizing some guests over others. After all of the above no surprise that overall feel and vibe dropped at the lowest low and even some dance showtime at the end didn’t manage to resuscitate it. Sad.

The great atmosphere, delicious food and first-class service help make every celebration an unforgettable event. Last but not least, I would like to highlight the boss & Pano, who are simply great. Das Essen war gut, jedoch überteuert für das was es war, München eben. Der Service war nicht mehr als in Ordnung! Das Restaurant war voll ( Samstag Abend), somit wurde uns das Essen schnell und lieblos auf den Tisch geklatscht. Um weitere Getränke zu erhalten mussten wir den Kellner zu uns rufen. Das Ambiente und das Publikum ist nicht mein Geschmack , die männlichen Gäste prollig, die weiblichen wirkten billig, bedürftig und stillos. Um 21:30 Uhr wurde die schlechte Musik so laut, dass man kein Wort mehr wechseln konnte. Wir haben das Restaurant völlig überstimuliert, aufgrund der ständig blinkenden Lichter und schlechten, viel zu lauten Musik, fluchtartig verlassen. Sehr schade , es gibt andere Alternativen in München die dem Wort „ Partygrieche“ wirklich gerecht werden. Hier nicht, deshalb werden wir nicht wieder kommen. Dies ist aber nicht schlimm , da wir wie wir an diesem Abend festgestellt haben, nicht zur Zielgruppe gehören und auch nicht zu dem vom Restaurant gewünschten Publikum gehören möchten.

Scheinbar wird hier systematisch am Wochenende überbucht. Trotz schon seit einer Woche vorher erfolgter Reservierung, wurde uns wohlgemerkt vom Türsteher mitgeteilt, dass sie leider keinen Platz mehr für uns haben. Die Besitzer halten es noch nicht einmal für Nötig vorher anzurufen und sich zumindest zu entschuldigen, sondern lassen ihre Gäste die reserviert haben erstmal antanzen, um ihnen dann zu sagen sie hätten jetzt doch keinen Platz. So etwas unverschämtes hab ich wirklich noch nie erlebt. Scheinbar waren wir auch nicht die einzigen. In so einem Laden sollte man keinen Cent lassen!

Die Organisation vor Ort ist bodenlos, wenn sich trotz Reservierungen am Samstag Abend riesige schlangen von wartenden Menschen vor der Tür bilden, da der Laden offensichtlich Maßlose Überbuchungen zulässt. Hier wird es auch nicht für angebracht erachtet den Gästen vorab telefonisch abzusagen oder die Reservierungen rechtzeitg zu stornieren,auch im Hinblick darauf, dass sich die Location völlig abgelegen in einer Art Industriegebiet befindet und nicht einfach zu erreichen ist. Stattdessen fährt man voller Freude für einen schönen Abend dort hin, um nach 30min Wartezeit in der kälte trotz zugesagter Reservierung ohne begründung abgewiesen zu werden. Nach welchen kriterien der Einlass und ein Tisch zugeteilt werden ließ sich bei dem durcheinander nicht ganz ableiten und wurde auch nicht kommuniziert, Vitamin B könnte bei diesem unprofessionellen Personal aber sicherlich helfen, denn die Buddies durften alle an der wartenden Schlange vorbei direkt rein gehen. Dies ist übrigens an diesem Abend kein Einzelfall gewesen, sondern im selben Zeitraum bei mindestens 6-7 festen Reservierungen passiert die ebenfalls gewartet haben!!! Größter Saftladen in München und in keinsterweise weiter zu empfehlen für diese Unverschämtheit, außer ihr möchtet euch euren Abend auf gut Glück an der Kymata-Tür-Lotterie vermiesen.

Disappointed. I didn't make it to the restaurant because they were overbooked even though we made a reservation a week ago and arrived on time. They also made us wait outside for half an hour before announcing that we couldn't come in, which got to the point that we couldn't find another restaurant to eat at that evening. Don't even bother going there.

My friends and I got a reservation there (with confirmation email) and arrived on time. They told us that our table would be available only 30 minutes later! We waited outside and then after this time they told us that we would not be able to dinner there. That was very disappointing because we were excited about this place and the approach of their staff was not friendly. They even said that if they allowed everyone with booking to go inside they would have a problem. ( Doesn't make sense to us) After all we left the place late at night and hungry. Also we had a hard time finding an open place and with space for us to dinner.

Das Essen war gut, die Portionen für den Preis teilweise etwas klein. Das Hauptgericht war spärlich angerichtet und man musste die Beilage zum Hauptgericht zusätzlich kaufen. Bei unserem Besuch war der Service freundlich, aber unaufmerksam und langsam. Wir haben eine halbe Stunde auf eine Reaktion gewartet, ehe wir die Nachspeisen bestellen konnten. Auf das Bezahlen mussten wir nochmal länger warten, obwohl der Laden nur einige besetzte Tische hatte. Auf den Hinweis, dass wir schon länger winken, wurde von einigen Mitarbeitern schroff und unhöflich reagiert. Beim Bezahlen wurde uns dann aber als Entschädigung eine Runde Ouzo erlassen und sich für die Wartezeit entschuldigt. Die Erfahrung war alles in allem leider nicht so positiv und für eine Neueröffnung nicht würdig.

The smoking area was super cold and windy. They had external heaters but they were off that night. The waiters were perfect and the fish was really good.

Waren gestern da einfach top essen, Musik war sehr gut, der Service war top. Nur zum weiterempfehlen

Das Essen war sehr gut, die Kellner sind alle freundlich, hat uns sehr gefallen!!

Neuer Standort, nachdem der Mietvertrag in der Volpinistrasse nicht verlängert wurde. War vorher eher etwas rustikaler, jetzt extrem stylish - Partylocation ab 21 Uhr mit Musik (manchmal etwas zu laut). Das Essen ist nach wie vor sensationell. Etwas mehr vegetarische Gerichte wären schön.

Wir waren zu viert am 03.11, also kurz nach der Eröffnung hier.Daher werde ich nicht alles, wie z.B. dass mindestens 2 der 4 vegetarischen Gerichte und Teile des Getränkeangebots wie das Dunkle Bier nicht verfügbar waren, auf die Goldwaage legen. Jedoch war es trotz dessen eines der schlechtesten Restaurant Erlebnisse der letzten Monate. Das Ambiente: Vielleicht nicht jedermanns Sache, aber der moderne Stil der Einrichtung gefällt mir grundsätzlich. Das gelegentliche Aufblitzen von Teilen der Disco-ähnlichen Beleuchtungsanlage war dagegen eher störend und die Musik etwas zu laut. Das Essen: Mein Briam war geschmacklich gut, die Portionsgröße eher überschaubar. Zum Glück hatte ich noch Knoblauch-Pita dazu bestellt, was zumindest geholfen hat, den Hunger zu stillen. Geschmacklich war das Pita jedoch eher belanglos. Es macht den Anschein einfachstes, fertiges Fladenbrot zu sein, welches mit Knoblauchöl bestrichen wird. Das können andere viel besser. Insgesamt war mein Essen geschmacklich OK. Preis für das gebotene, dennoch nicht wirklich angemessen. Der Service: Wurden wir noch recht herzlich empfangen, nahm ab jetzt die Service Qualität stetig ab. Ob das damit zu tun hat, dass wir weder pauschal eine Flasche Wasser noch Wein und auch keine Vorspeise bestellt haben und somit evtl. nicht zum Zielpublikum gehören? Jedenfalls wurden wir ab da eher ignoriert als umgarnt. Dass es letztlich doch ein vergleichsweise günstiger Abend wurde, liegt auch am Service. Jeder Versuch ein zweites (auf das durchaus auch ein drittes hätte folgen können) Getränk zu bestellen wurde ignoriert. Stattdessen wurde uns, ohne jegliche Frage, ob wir noch etwas bestellen möchten, einen kostenlosen Ouzo angeboten. Wir haben das auch als Aufforderung zum Bezahlen aufgefasst, der wir gerne nachgekommen sind. Egal ob das Erlebte der Neueröffnung geschuldet war oder wir einfach nicht ins Zielpublikum passen, wir werden keinen 2. Versuch starten.

Also, ich war schon in vielen Restaurants was essen, aber das Essen hier war unglaublich. Von der Vorspeise zum Hauptgericht und die Nachspeise, alles war unglaublich gut. Das Lokal sieht sehr gemütlich aus und nach dem Essen kann man auch ein bisschen feiern. Ich werde definitiv wieder kommen und auch weiterempfehlen. Danke Dimitros für den tollen Abend.

Familien und Nichtstammgäste nicht willkommen. - Kaltes, billig wirkendes Ambiente - Reservierung für 11 Personen, Tisch für 10 bekommen (nach dem Essen sollten wir dann auch noch einen der zusammen gestellten Tische abgeben). - Essen geschmacklich ok, übersichtliche Portionen, aber Preise gehoben (mehrere Gäste schreiben, Speisekarte hat sich geändert, Inhaber widerspricht und behauptet, es sei eine Fake-Rezension?) - Salat hat geknirscht, ganze Tomaten drin - Aluminiumfolie im Essen, erst auf mehrmaliges Nachfragen kam eine Entschuldigung, aber man fühlte sich so, als wäre man als Gast daran schuld. - unfreundliche Blicke des Saalchefs, einer der Kellner war aber bemüht - keine Möglichkeit Nachtisch zu bestellen, da man uns wieder loswerden wollte. EDIT: Ich wurde aufgefordert, meine Rezension zu löschen, da wir angeblich nicht Gäste waren, wir haben aber noch die Rechnung.

Es war super lecker. Lange nicht mehr in so einem schönen, eleganten und hochwertigen Ambiente gegessen. Top Service! Immer wieder gerne!

Sehr gutes Essen und netter Service

Leider ist das neue Kymata viel schlechter als das alte! Es liegt ziemlich abseits in einem reinen Wohngebiet bzw in einer Gegend von Sportvereinen. Das Ambiente ist eher kühl und wirkt etwas wie in einem Etablissement; so auch viele Gäste einem bestimmten Typ in Richtung Schickimicki und Möchtegern angehören. Das Essen kam relativ schnell und hat ganz gut geschmeckt, jedoch sind die Preise sehr gehoben und die Portionen leider etwas zu klein. Der Beilagensalat war kaum angemacht und auch der Reis zum Gyros war staubtrocken. Als wir die Rechnung verlangten, waren zunächst zwei Getränke mit drauf, die wir nie konsumiert haben! Dabei kommt natürlich schnell der Verdacht auf, ob dies öfters vorsätzlich „passiert“… Die Musik wurde zum späteren Abend hin immer lauter, so dass wir schließlich das Restaurant unzufrieden verließen. Fazit: Leider kein gemütliches gut schmeckendes griechisches Restaurant zum Wohlfühlen, sondern ein abseits gelegener Party Laden für scheinbar gut betuchtes z.T. halbseidenes Publikum.

My wife and I LOVED this restaurant! The service was fantastic! We booked a reservation and arrived almost an hour early, which they were able to accommodate us. The food was delicious from the appetizer to the main courses. A truly fine dining experience for an affordable price. If we weren't leaving Germany tomorrow, we would 100% go back again!

Ein wunderbares Restaurant mit hervorragende Küche.Eine große auswahl an gerichten. Das personal ist ausgezeichnet.Sehr aufmerksam,nett,schnell und immer gut drauf. Die Atmosphäre in Restaurant ist einfach HAMMER! Über den ambient muss man gar nicht diskutieren ist PERFEKT( So was hat München gebraucht) Bei kymata passt einfach Alles essen,personal,ambient,musik,atmosphäre Ist ein Restaurant das Jeder besuchen muss. Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit einer wunderschönen Atmosphäre, einem ganz tollem Service und einer ausgezeichneten Küche.

Kymata war schon immer unser griechisches Stammlokal . Jetzt wollten wir das neue ausprobieren und waren sehr begeistert! Als wir eintraten, wurden wir sehr freundlich und herzlich empfangen. Die neue Location ist groß, edel, und modern aber doch auch weiterhin griechisch traditionel. Das schöne Ambiente und die Musik ergaben eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Es war sehr gemütlich und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Unser Kellner war hervorragend. Unsere gemischte Vorspeise war wie immer perfekt. Danach haben wir Fisch mit Gemüse(gedämpft und doch schön knackig) bestellt. Die Qualität des Essens ist genauso gut wie vorher. Sehr lecker! Die Weinempfehlung war ausgezeichnet. Es war ein sehr schöner und gemütlicher Abend. Ein Lob von uns an das ganze Kymata-Team und weiter so! Wir werden weiterhin Stammgäste bleiben und wiederkommen.

Das ist das beste griechische Restaurant in dem ich bis jetzt im München war. Das Essen ist wirklich super und das Personal war wirklich herzlich und nett. Die Stimmung war total gut und die Atmosphäre war angenehm, genau so wie man sich einen schönen Abend vorstellt!! Ich kann das Restaurant jedem ans Herz legen und komme auf jeden Fall wieder!! Einfach nur Top!!!
