Very good food and great service. I would love to come back. It simply tastes much more complex than in the standard snack bar 👍

I was just in the restaurant and while I was sitting at the table and had just placed my order, a mouse ran behind the counter. I left the restaurant straight away.

Pad Thai and Duck curry was the best!

Parking available within walking distance. Payment possible by card or cash. Staff friendly and attentive. Reservation is recommended. Food and drinks are brought to the table relatively quickly. Very good price/performance ratio. High chairs for small children available. Delivery and collection available.

Everything is simply delicious!

There were five of us there, all very good eaters, and we were all well fed. The various dishes we had (curries and stir fries) were very tasty, authentic and we got extra rice as often as we wanted. Sometimes it was a little difficult to get a waitress' attention, but otherwise everything was great. Prices very fair.

My favourite Thai-Resto in Stuttgart so far. The dishes are authentic. I ordered 4 menus Pad Thai w/ shrimps, Gang Kiew Wan (it’s green curry, a bit spicy but super delicious), Pad Pak Boong (morning glory, can request w/ crispy pork belly if you want), and Mango sticky rice. Don’t worry they have menus for Vegetarian or Vegan too. Better do a reservation, since they have a lots of customers. The place is clean and cozy too. The services are super friendly. Keep it up 🥰

In terms of food, it's just really good, probably the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at so far. Not exactly cheap in price, but value for money is still good. All I can criticize is the somewhat stiff atmosphere and my beer wasn't cold enough, but that's always the case with Asian restaurants.

Good and inexpensive lunch menu. However, there was no indication that there was a changing starter with the main course. Drinks expensive. Very nice service.

Food was delicious we sat in their garden which is lovely. It was buzzing with lots of people. We had chicken satay, curry, prawns wrapped in leaf with peanuts, my cousin had sticky crispy chicken then we finished with sticky coconut rice with mango. All really yummy. The only star I took off was for service. The younger girls were lovely and helpful there was one older waitress that was acting a bit strange when we asked for extra plate as we were sharing and this is normal. She have a strange look twice. Otherwise awesome thank you

Top food, delicious drinks and very attentive service

Super tasty and authentic Thai food 😍 We'd love to come back! A special highlight for me: on the menu there is a picture and a good description of each dish, so that despite all the foreign dishes you can imagine something about it and make a suitable choice. Also highly recommended is the beautiful terrace in the backyard in summer, very green and cozy!

Wir waren bisher regelmäßig Kunden des Restaurant Kwan Kao in Stuttgart West. Mit unseren beiden Gerichten, die wir gestern abgeholt hatten, waren wir überhaupt nicht zufrieden. Dies war leider nicht das erste Mal: Beide Essen (Panäng) waren versalzen, so dass wir das Essen nicht aufaßen, auch befand sich kaum Gemüse in der Soße. Die Speisen werden weiterhin in Einwegbehältnissen ausgegeben, das Mehrwegkonzept wird nicht angeboten, was wir sehr schade finden.

I think it's really bad that despite having a reservation you aren't informed that the restaurant is closed. We have planned a final dinner with a colleague who is leaving us. We dutifully reserved space online and this was confirmed to us. When you arrive and park, you of course pay a parking fee for one hour. Only to find out that the restaurant is simply closed and doesn't open until 5 p.m. So how is a reservation with confirmation possible? Point service should be optimized here. Very annoying loss of time, fuel and costs!!!!

I was there with a group of friends and the food and drinks where excellent! They have a big garden outside which is very nice as well as big room which many round tables inside.

This place had been highly recommended to me so I went to try it and I really liked it. I ordered a curry with rice and it was delicious. The dish was quite filling, and I think it could be shared between two people. It is advisable to make a reservation. The people is so kind.

Das bestellte Essen (Wolt) wurde nicht geliefert. Ursprünglich wurde es auf 18:36 Unr angekündigt kam aber nie. Nie wieder Wolt, nie wieder Kwan Kao (obwohl wir bisher Stammgäste waren)

Unfortunately, I didn't find the service good. Long wait after ordering the drinks, although the crowd was manageable. In 3 hours there was only 3 times someone at the table to ask if anything else wanted to be ordered. Work on it, then you are definitely a good address.

An exceptional culinary experience! This Thai restaurant offers authentic and tasty dishes. The pad thai is perfectly balanced and the starters are a delight. The service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I highly recommend this place to all Thai food lovers!

As always sensational 🙏 In our opinion, absolutely the best Thai in and around Stuttgart, clean, a warm team, who, even though we haven't been there for several weeks for business reasons, still remember what we usually drink and eat. The Pad Thai was a bit too sweet for me, could there be more nuts and spring onions? be. Tofu is the standard. But food came super quickly and service was nice. Lots of places available. Card payment possible. Butterfly tea quite sweet.

We loved being able to pick out whether we wanted to eat in or dine on the balcony. It was such a perfect day so we dined outside and as it got dark, they brought candles and lights out for us to be able to enjoy while still being able to see our food. The food was delicious. Didn’t capture the red curry that I purchased but the drinks and appetizers were worth the wait. The service was nice and they accept Card so that’s always a plus in downtown Stuttgart.

Food seemed pretty authentic. Pretty busy. Service OK. Food delicious.

I can't say anything about the ambience because we ordered several dishes through Lieferando. The food was freshly prepared and delivered warm. The ingredients were fresh, the rice noodles were cooked just right and had the perfect consistency. Unfortunately there wasn't enough meat, even though it was cooked tenderly. I would have liked more vegetables. The food tasted very good and was good value for money. Thank you.

Unfortunately I have to revise my 5-star review because we were quite disappointed. We were there on a weekday evening and had to wait over an hour for our food! Unfortunately, when the food finally came, it wasn't as good as I remembered. The wok dish was completely over-seasoned and the curry was significantly less aromatic and authentic compared to other Thai restaurants in Stuttgart. Both waitresses also seemed arrogant and listless. Only when paying did I receive a half-hearted apology that the food had taken so long - the rice cooker was broken. I would have expected at least some information at the beginning that the meal would take longer. Also maybe a few spring rolls or something similar to bridge the waiting time! It's a shame, but we will choose other Thai restaurants in the area in the future.

The food was, as always, very tasty. This time we wanted to take something with us at short notice. Unfortunately, that didn't go down so well. The waitress at the bar asked us if we had a reservation before we were even greeted. We repeated to ourselves that we just wanted to take something with us. The restaurant was hardly occupied… We probably won't be eating here again any time soon. A pity.

Very good Thai restaurant. Has outdoor seating in the back with umbrellas. Scenic inside the building. Ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and the food was cooked very well. Went during lunch time and the prices were very reasonable. Good place to eat with a couple friends or a group. (We had 10 people). Close to the S-Bahn train station.

Delicious Thai. Best Massamam Curry and great Pad Thai. Prices raised. There is a 10% discount when you order online. Unfortunately, the website often doesn't work and there is no discount over the phone. Could still be improved. But the food was very tasty.

Update 2024-02: Unfortunately there are currently long waiting times, even for drinks. The soup we ordered didn't come at all. Not even after a complaint. :-) Super delicious Thai restaurant. Comfortably furnished, spacious tables and space around them, currently with the appropriate Corona protocol. A beautiful garden, you can sit here very well when the weather is good. For food: we had 1 starter, a soup and a green curry with chicken. See photos. The starter was small but delicious, a taste explosion in the mouth. The soup had a nice spiciness. The green curry was quite spicy for a green curry, the only downside was that it could have used more Thai basil. All in all: we'll be back to try out more. The service was very friendly, but could be a little more attentive. If this was helpful, I'd appreciate a thumbs up. Thanks.

Except for the fact that we had to wait a long time for our food, everything was great. The taste is really A1.

Very sad, four of us came, ordered and had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for the food! Guests who came after us received food immediately. Just paid for the drinks and got up. Not even a sincere apology came. They were also well staffed in terms of staff 😉 If you want to come, you should allow yourself a maximum of 3 hours!

Was very tasty and very large portions. Duck with tamarind sauce is highly recommended. Service was very nice and quick even though it was very busy. Always my pleasure.

This was our second time at Kwan Kao and again with a large group. The menu offers something for everyone, so the choice is easy (or not😬) I ate vegetarian spring rolls (extremely delicious!!) and panäng with tofu. You get the curry in a small pan and rice separately. The rice is refilled again and again until you don't want any more. Therefore the curry is quite filling - but be careful! Even one chili pepper on the menu is pretty spicy! Overall we were once again very satisfied, but the service had deteriorated significantly. The order took forever and since the staff hardly spoke any German there was some confusion. The atmosphere is very pleasant. This time there were 7 of us at a round table, which we really liked because we could see everyone while we ate.

As locals, we have come here several times on weekdays - originally on a recommendation. As a lover of crispy duck and curry, I can highly recommend Kwan Kao! My colleague, who has an affinity for Thailand for professional reasons, describes the food as close to what he had experienced there. As far as I can tell, all of the dishes so far have tasted extremely good! The service is extremely friendly and hard-working, although a little busy at evening peak times depending on the seat. I also really liked the ambience. In my opinion, it should be noted that due to the authentic cooking method, the flavors also carry with them home - in my opinion, an acceptable trade-off 😊 We will continue to enjoy coming here in the future!

Rude staff, standard food! Opening hours until 9:30 p.m., 8:40 p.m. We arrived and "No ! Kitchen already closed! Although the restaurant is still full of guests, there are still free seats! But perhaps because the boss wasn't there, the employee didn't want to accept any more customers!

Soooo rude! The short, broad woman, about 40 years old, with long black hair simply rejected us at the reception! Even though we already have reservations! Because we arrived 5 minutes late 😌 Well that's not possible! You don't know what the food here tastes like or not, but an employee like that needs to be fired immediately! 1 star for the restaurant is still too much for me!

Wieder mal sehr leckeres Essen. Leider muss man manchmal recht viel winken, bis eine Bedienung aufmerksam wird und ein simpler Tee dauert teilweise auch sehr lang

Die Wartezeiten waren lang, Vorspeise war vor den Getränken da. Insgesamt Service hinter dem, was man von dieser Preisklasse erwartet. Essen war okey, aber es gibt deutlich bessere Thais in Stuttgart.

Leider ist die telefonischer Erreichbarkeit trotz 2 angegebener Telefonnummern vor 17 Uhr nicht gegeben. Eine Änderung bei Tischreservierungen so leider nicht möglich, das auch auf Mails leider nicht geantwortet wird. Das Restaurant sieht sehr schön und gepflegt aus. Wenn man früh kommt ist der Raum allerdings leider viel zu kalt. Hier sollte früher geheizt werden. In Deutschland wäre es schön, wenn der Kellner auch deutsch sprechen würde ! Weder auf deutsch noch auf englisch konnte man ihn verstehen.. Tolle Speisenauswahl die aber leider für den europäischen Gaumen viel zu scharf ausfallen. Trotzdem lecker und wir werden sicher wieder kommen

Wir sind immer sehr zufrieden. Es ist zwar nicht der beste Thailänder in Stuttgart, aber einer der besten. die Getränke schmecken sehr lecker und frisch. Das einzige, was ich zu bemängeln habe, ist, dass es relativ teuer ist. Manchmal ist es auch sehr laut drinne, aber die letzten Male ging es. Ich empfehle es also draußen zu sitzen, wenn es geht. Als Vegetarier ist man auch gut aufgehoben.

War mit allem äußerst zufrieden, Essen war sehr lecker, allerdings noch nicht überragend

Also wie in Thailand hat das Essen nicht geschmeckt. War in Ordnung. Gericht war mit einer Chilischote ausgezeichnet. Es war ziemlich scharf... ein anderes, welches genau so ausgezeichnet war, hatte gar keine schärfe/ würze. Vorspeisen für die größe bzw. Für nur Gemüse ziemlich teuer (ca 8 bis 10€ peo Gericht). Die Wartezeit war wirklich lang und ich bin da immer sehr tolerant. Aber bei einem Restaurant mit (in dem Moment) 6 anderen besetzten Tischen, welche zum großteil schon bedient waren, nochmals 15min zu warten bis überhaupt die Getränke aufgenommen werden... Ist schon lang. Ich würde die Bedienung Au net als freundlich bezeichnen. Sehr neutral eher. Und der Herr am Eingang hatte ein Blick drauf als würde er uns am liebsten wieder raus schmeißen bzw. Konnte man die demotivation extrem spüren (Waren als pärchen dort). Maximale Aufenthaltsdauer sind knapp 2 Std .. was im Grunde kein Problem ist, wenn es natürlich nicht ewig dauert bis essen etc da ist. Also bis wir Getränke und Essen hatten vergingen bereits 45min und wir waren nur zu zweit. Nach 1h 15min waren wir natürlich fertig, aber ich denke mit einer Gruppe von 4 bis 6 Personen wird des mit den 2 Std schon knapper. Nochmal verschlägt es uns hier nicht hin.

Tolle thailändische Küche, fairer Preis und sehr freundlicher Service👌👌topp

Wir waren an den Weihanchtsfestagen dort. Und der Service war leider nicht gut genug besetzt. Und konnte kaum deutsch war einfach sehr bemüht. Zu viele Reservationen angenommen plus Lieferdienst. Mit 2 Personen im Service. Bei voller Bellegung einfach zu wenig Küche ist auch nicht nachgekommen. 1 Stunde auf Vorspeisen gewartet und eine Stunde auf die Hauptgänge. Aber bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten war das Essen Hervorragend. Wir werden sicher mal wieder kommen wenn es etwas ruhiger ist.

Das Essen war super, aber leider dieses Mal lange Wartezeit. Es gab viele online Bestellungen und keine Trennung zwischen online und vor Ort. Echt schade, da ich neue Leute mitgebracht habe. Der erste Eindruck war dann nicht wie ich erwartete. Sie waren schon sehr hungrig, um auf das Essen zu warten. Dieses Mal waren auch die Bedienungen nicht nett, wie ich schon mal erlebt habe. Vielleicht resultiert es daraus, dass manche Bedienungen Urlaub haben und die vor Ort überfördert sind.

Super leckeres original thailändisches Essen. Schmeckt, wie in Thailand! Absolute Empfehlung, kommen seit Jahren regelmäßig! Auch der Biergarten im Sommer ist sehr gemütlich.

Das Brückle Kwan Kao ist ein sehr angenehm eingerichtetes Lokal, das war es aber vorher schon, die Betreiber haben es auf „Thai“ getrimmt. Die Tischwäsche war nicht wirklich sauber. Der Service war ganz in Ordnung. Das Essen schmeckte recht gut, ich bin aber nicht davon überzeugt, dass es authentische Küche ist, sprich ohne Convenience Food, es war auch nur günstiges Gemüse wie Sprossen, Kohl und der Trick mit ein paar grünen Zuckerschotenstreifen war ebenfalls dabei. Das Hühnerfleisch war auffällig gleichmäßig zart das kennt man alles so vom Asia Imbiss. Dafür sind die Preise echt und stattlich.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants ist sehr schön, das Essen ausgezeichnet und die Portionen groß sodass man ohne Probleme satt wird. Es lohnt sich vor einem Besuch zu reservieren da alle Tische belegt waren und während meines Besuches auch Gäste weggeschickt werden mussten

Ich bin selten in Stuttgart aber hier komme ich seit vielen Jahren immer gerne hin, wenn ich mal in Stuttgart bin. Super angenehme Ambiente (eher dunkel), zuvorkommender Service und das Essen ist immer ausgezeichnet und wird recht schnell serviert. Meine Empfehlungen: Papaya Salat, Wasserspinat mit knusprigem Schweinebauch und Pad Siew mit Rind. Die Parkplatzsuche in der Umgebung ist leider immer recht mühselig aber habe mich bisher auch nicht nach Parkhäusern erkundigt.

A lot of comments say that the food is authentic. However, I must disagree. We had Larb with sticky rice and panang curry. The food wasn't spicy at all, not even a bit! The curry was slightly too sweet even. And the sticky rice was too hard to chew. Overall, it was quite alright. But I left slightly disappointed. Maybe the staff can ask guests how spicy they prefer their food.

Die Suppe als Vorspeise war leider nur lauwarm. Der Fisch zu Tode gebraten bzw. frittiert. Schärfe war okay. Cocktails sehr lecker. Ich war schon öfters hier dieses mal waren wir mit dem Essen nicht glücklich.

Der Papayasalat schmeckt wie in Bangkok - bester Papayasalat den ich seitdem in Deutschland gegessen habe. Die Tom Yam Gung schmeckt auch super! Bei den Hauptgerichten scheiden sich dann leider meine Geister. Ich hatte teilweise wirklich leckere Gerichte (z.B. Massaman Curry) aber dann auch wieder welche, die mir gar nicht getaugt haben (z.B. Pad Kiemao). Daher der eine Stern Abzug. Der verwendete Tofu schmeckt dagegen immer sehr gut. An sich würde ich das Kwan Kao - und für Leute, die es scharf mögen den Papayasalat - immer weiterempfehlen und werde wohl noch häufig vorbeikommen.

Herrlich wunderbare thailändische Küche, einfach auf das scharf 🌶️ in der Karte achten. Freundlicher Service, erklärt auch die Speisen auf Anfrage. Als einzigstes ist und der Lautstärkepegel aufgefallen, da jeder Platz belegt war. Gegen später war es dann total angenehm. Das Essen kam schnell und geschmacklich wirklich Yammi Yammi - ich hab das rote Curry 🍛 mit Kokosmilch gegessen, einfach super 👍. Auch die Vorspeisen really really amazing. Sooooooo lecker und liebevoll angerichtet

Überragende authentische thailändische Küche ! Wer es liebt, muss hier gegessen haben. Personal sehr freundlich und Ambiente auf der Terrasse ist gemütlich. Nur mit den Parkplätzen ist es schwierig, hier muss man unter Umständen ein paar Meter laufen. Aber das ist es auf jeden Fall wert. Wir kommen wieder !

Durch TripAdvisor bin ich auf das Kwan Kao in S-Mitte aufmerksam geworden und habe dort am 19.07.23 gegen 18:15 Uhr im Außenbereich Pad Kiemao (Nr. 53) gegessen. Der freundlichen Dame vom Service habe ich gesagt, dass ich das Gericht gerne "Thai-scharf" bekommen möchte. Erfahrungsgemäß bekommt man das trotz Bestellung nicht, da die Köche Angst haben, europäische Gäste vertragen das nicht. Die Kellnerin wies mich darauf hin, dass "Thai-scharf" gefährlich ist, da es extrem scharf sei. Ich bestätigte meinen Wunsch und tatsächlich wurde das Gericht wie gewünscht serviert. Es hat wirklich hervorragend geschmeckt und ich kann Pad Kiemao (Nr. 53) nur empfehlen, egal ob normal gewürzt oder "Thai-scharf". Wenn ich wieder in S bin, komme ich gerne wieder.
