Kwan Kao - Taste of Thailand in Stuttgart

The food is so delicious and tastes 100% real Thai. We ordered Yamwoonsen, Lab, curry, Pad Ingwer and so on. The staffs are lovely. We had the great time there. Please! Don’t forget to order Thai desserts, they are soooo good.

The food tastes very, very good and the atmosphere is very nice. The service is also friendly, although sometimes you have to wait a bit longer. You can also sit outside in the summer. It's right by the street, but it's still nice. It can get a bit stuffy inside sometimes, especially in the summer, but otherwise we really enjoy eating there.

The two of us spontaneously went there without a reservation. We were lucky that there was still a table available. So, make sure you reserve! The food was first-class, and the staff (if I understand correctly, it's a family business) were extremely friendly and welcoming. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the value for money is definitely good! Card payments are accepted. The protons are very generous, and the spiciness is at a familiar level. We'd be happy to come back.

We went there spontaneously in the early evening as we were in Stuttgart for business and luckily managed to get a table. The restaurant was very busy, and the atmosphere and ambiance were great. The food was incredibly delicious, both the appetizer and the main course. We were absolutely thrilled. :) The owners were also super friendly, very attentive and charming. The slightly higher price is worth every cent. Perfect value for money. We'll be happy to come back. 😊

The dishes are extremely delicious, but also quite spicy. For me, as someone who really loves spicy food, it's an absolute dream. There's a separate menu for vegans/vegetarians with a generous selection (just scan the QR code on the main menu).

Finally, a place that is actually Thai! The food here was very good, and the service was prompt and polite. I ordered the red curry. It wasn't quite aa spicy as I had hoped for, but it had all the right flavors. The Thai lemon iced tea was also delicious. It's a little pricey, but the food was good and the portions were generous.

We reserved online and, voila, we were there. We were initially given a table for two, right against the wall of the building, and then we were offered a table for four. Very nice! The staff were very friendly and gave excellent advice. All the drinks and food were delicious. The mix of spices – top notch! We really enjoyed the evening. Thank you!

Viendo las reseñas aquí y mi propia experiencia, solo puedo concluir que es así (generalmente, siempre hay excepciones). Mientras que los dos camareros jóvenes (el hijo y la hija) eran lo suficientemente educados y alegres, la camarera mayor (la madre) era bastante dura. Definitivamente no es algo que encontrarás en un restaurante en Tailandia. La comida no era de mi gusto. La sopa carente tenía solo cuatro carentes, lo que fue una bendición ya que la piel era de mala calidad y la carne picada en el interior insípida. El pollo Pad Siew Ee era un poco mejor sabor en parte porque les había pedido que redujeran la cantidad de soja en él (las marcas de mala calidad tienen un olor horrible que realmente es malo poner). Sin embargo, el pollo probablemente era carne de pollo congelada, siendo los trozos de pollo planos afeitados. Había mucha ensalada de verduras en el plato para abultarlo con solo un poco de verdura cocida y el pollo. Pensé que el precio era caro para la mala calidad y el tamaño no tan generoso. Por el contrario, tenía Pad Thai en Konigstrasse en el lugar asiático cerca de la entrada de la estación Stadtmitte U y la calidad era mucho mejor que mi pad siew ee. No recomendaría este lugar si estás acostumbrado a una excelente comida de Tailandia.

Delicious food and friendly service, but unfortunately a very long waiting time.

We were there for my wife's birthday, during the week. The restaurant was full. The space is rather small. Unfortunately, there was only one condition, and one lady at the bar. We waited about 20 minutes to order drinks, and the food also took quite a while. My starter, chicken satay, was bland. The main course was very tasty. Beef in vegetables. The portion wasn't particularly large. There was plenty of rice. Unfortunately, roti and grilled banana weren't available to order. This meant that dessert was missed.

The excellent and authentic food took us back to our last Thailand vacation. The staff was very friendly and service-oriented.

Unfortunately, at around €19 per dish, it's not something I want to afford very often. We sat outside and it was very pleasant.

well rounded Thai restaurant experience. love the food, service is decent, we tried 4 dishes &3 drinks: pad thai seafood 9/10 perfect taste of padthai, the shrimp is fresh and well cooked, love the combination of padthay, seafood, egg, with bean sprouts. love it💛 Mango sticky rice 9/10 usually not a fan of mango sticky rice, but love this one! the sweetness is on point, mango is fresh, with sprinkles of barley to add more texture when chewed, topped with coconut milk. must try! fried duck wirh curry 8.5/10 stir fried water spinanch with pork belly 7.5/10 thai tea & coffee O 8.5/10 butterfly pea coffee the ambience is quite cozy with dim lightning, interior is quite pretty.the drinks are a bit pricey in my opinion, but overall a nice experience. will definitely come back

Very tasty... like in Thailand.

Date Night, Thai style. We decided to dine out at another of our go-to delivery spots: Kwan Kao. Both Stuttgart locations have impressed us, but the intimacy of the Urbanatrasse location makes it ideal for date night (never mind the shockingly loud group of women diners there on Saturday) Kwan Kao's menu is extensive and features some truly fresh options like the water spinach and whole fish. They have much more authentic Thai than the watered-down imbiss places. It's not cheap, but absolutely worth it for the quality & presentation. The menu features lovely Thai-inspired cocktails and some carefully curated wines, as well. This really made for a fun date night to break the rut of settling on takeout. Though we love the food, ambiance & service, we were a bit disappointed in two things: Their credit card processor charged a €4,60 fee for non-EU credit cards. This was our first time seeing this, ever. We couldn't pay cash, as we wanted to use Remonon. Next time we'll use our N26 cards. They also charged €2 for the containers to take home leftovers. This was more of an annoyance & something they didn't mention. Also, a bit cheeky when we spent over €100 on our meal. Overall, Kwan Kao is still our favorite Thai dinner spot in our neighborhood. They deliver via Wolt, Uber Eats & Lieferando. Reservations are a must.

I can only warmly recommend the restaurant. The food was great, even though I was well served with a chili pepper. It couldn't have been any sharper. We had two wok dishes with rice and they were exceptional. The service was attentive and super nice and polite. The food also came very quickly. The atmosphere is nice, well decorated. The toilet was clean. We'd love to come again.

This restaurant is highly recommended. My friends and I were very satisfied. As an Asian, I can say that the food was cooked very authentically and one of my friends even said that it tasted like his mother had cooked it. A big compliment to the kitchen. The service was very friendly, accommodating and often asked if we were okay. All in all a great experience. We come from Saarland, but will stop by again on our next visit to Stuttgart ;)

Super delicious food. You can choose the appropriate meat for each meal or have it vegetarian. Reservations are absolutely helpful.

Food is excellent, extreme fresh and high quality ingredients, cooked in authentic Thai style. For the food quality, price is astonishingly low. Service is exactly what guests could wish, not a little more or a little less. A small tip: Always reserve!

You really have to praise the good food Unfortunately, there is a but: the boss is always stressed and latently aggressive. I agree with her, it's always busy and there's a lot to do. My request would still be to show a little more warmth and kindness.

We had Pad Thai with tofu and duck with tamarind sauce. The portions were large and it was very tasty. I would have given 5 stars if the price-performance ratio had been better. €17.90 for the Pad Thai is a bit excessive. To drink we had the Thai black tea with lemon. My personal highlight. Employees were friendly and the place was clean.

Excellent authentic Thai food. I grew up with Thai cuisine, so I can make this judgment with a clear conscience. Went to Kwan Kao (Urbanstrasse) for the second time today and were completely impressed a second time. The service was very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely top. Be sure to eat one of the soups as a starter! If you can't tolerate spicy food, you should speak to service beforehand. In Thailand the food is spicy, very spicy and even extremely spicy by German standards. You should know that beforehand :) If you expect authentic food, you will also get spicy food. You can't complain afterwards ;) To the Kwan Kao team: Bravo and please keep it up!

Were there today, the starter was absolutely amazing, the main courses were excellent, we'll be back. We were back, if this is Thailand food, we urgently need to go to Thailand. Table for 2 right at the entrance, that's not possible today on November 22nd, 2024, so the service is deducted from 3 stars. For us this thing is over.

I think this is the best restaurant in Stuttgart for Thai food. The service and the waiter was so welcoming and patient with our hundreds questions about food and assured us its the best Thai food in the city and its fresh which was totally true. Its just 10min from charlottenplatz and very quiet place. The gravy was good plus the chicken and pad Thai what can i say ? only that we will definitely go again.

We were in Thailand at the beginning of the year and wanted to rediscover good Thai dishes... Well we thought we were in Thailand again: everything was delicious like there: deliciously good, spicy (you could ask for less spicy) , hearty, really perfect. We also found iced black teas. I forgot to take photos: we were so excited. The service was perfect, very friendly, we were able to discuss Thailand with the waitress.

Large portions and prices (the main course is enough, unless you haven't eaten anything for a week), occasionally irritating - but always very attentive - service (almost like in Thailand 😊). For us, the taste doesn't come close to Thai street food. Tables outside on the quiet street are nice in the hot summer. Inside in the basement - no idea. We keep looking.

Great service and really delicious food

The food and the ambience were great. Everything screamed Thailand and you felt really comfortable. The food in particular was carefully prepared and all 4 dishes we ordered deserved 10/10 points. The staff was nice and accommodating. Now the question arises, why do I only give one out of five possible stars as a rating? This is because we actually ordered 5 dishes, but we only got 4. Unfortunately, the mango sticky rice never arrived. It wasn't a surprise at the end or anything, no, not at all. The nice waitress came back from the kitchen immediately after the order was placed and informed us that this dessert was unfortunately no longer available for that day. Sadly, I gave up and paid. On the way to the toilet, however, I noticed another guest also placing an order for mango sticky rice and the waiter took the order. This caught my attention and I waited a moment to see if this waiter would also come back from the kitchen with bad news. But puff cake... The waiter brought some things to the table and the lady didn't hear any further disappointments. Unlike me. All in all it may be a few impostors in the kitchen but I have to admit that the food was very very good and I would recommend everyone to go there.
