We arrived at the café around 9:45 p.m. with six people, just wanting a drink. Unfortunately, the staff seemed very disinterested. When we asked for a table, we were shown only one for four. When we requested a larger table, we had to put the tables together ourselves. The six drink menus were placed on the table without a word, and then the waiter simply left. The drinks arrived promptly, but there was no response to our "thank you." When it came to paying, we went inside ourselves – again, no "thank you" or friendly farewell. Overall, a rather disappointing experience in terms of service.

Not tasty, no service, meat was raw, cup stinks like domestos

We were there for the breakfast buffet. The selection and quality of the buffet were excellent. Everything tasted delicious.

Unfortunately, the service was truly disinterested and rude. I wanted the salad with beef fillet, but they said the meat could only be cooked through? I've never heard that before! I opted for pasta with asparagus. Unfortunately, the sauce was very sweet and therefore not my taste. It was a bit like the chef had accidentally reached into the sugar bowl instead of the salt. They didn't even ask if I liked it or even give me a smile! I won't be going there again! There are far better restaurants nearby!

We were just there for a drink. It took about 30 minutes to get what we ordered (just two hot drinks). The waiter came over to ask what we'd ordered. The drinks arrived cold. We ended up paying more than we should have and only realized it later. It couldn't have been worse. As an owner, I would seriously consider hiring new employees or training them. Definitely NOT recommended, sorry.

We visited this restaurant several times about six months ago – unfortunately, even then, with very mixed experiences regarding the service. Hoping that things had improved, we decided to give it another chance after some time. Conclusion: The service hasn't gotten any better – on the contrary, it's even worse. After we finished our first drink, we sat at our table unnoticed for over half an hour. No one asked us what we wanted, no one served us – instead, the waitress stood at the front of the counter, fanning her face or smoking outside on the terrace. When another guest came to our table, only their order was taken – we continued to sit there with empty glasses, without even being looked at, let alone asked if we wanted another drink. The same thing happened when paying: We asked to be allowed to pay. The answer was: "I'll pass it on to my colleague." After that, nothing happened. In the end, we had to go to the cashier ourselves to even pay. The atmosphere also leaves much to be desired: The music is far too loud, with constant techno that gives you a headache after just a few minutes. Conversation at the table? Virtually impossible. Conclusion: The service was already problematic six months ago – now it's even worse. No sign of improvement. Inattentive staff, no organization, and an unpleasant volume. Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended.

Never again. We went there with 2 friends and sit outside. Sunday afternoon, the place was not busy at all and the waitress just pick up the glasses from the previous customers without to clean the table. After half an hour maybe she was rude when I ask for the menu 21:55 without to know that kitchen is closing at 22:00. At 22:40 she came to ask to be paid and gone. At 23:00 another guy came and pick up the glasses without telling anything and without asking if we are finished with drinks and despite the fact that some glasses were having still water inside he pick them up putting his fingers inside. It really pity because some people invest some money and some other people are destroying places that they are earning their salary. I am 48 years old and 35 years in gastronomy but I still wonder how some people are sending the customers away with this behavior. I AM REALLY SORRY. 😑😑😑😑

I would like to describe my negative experience at your restaurant (today, June 26, at approximately 6:30 p.m.). Unfortunately, the waiter was extremely unprofessional and rude. He was arrogant and treated us in a very unfriendly and disrespectful manner. It was a disappointing experience that significantly marred our special day. I hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure that something like this doesn't happen again in the future.

We wanted to have brunch at Kupferstecher today, but since there are no hot dishes, it's not a brunch but a breakfast buffet. Service was okay. The sanitary facilities are terrible; the restroom has neither a toilet seat nor a toilet lid.

A lovely café with a lovely atmosphere in a prime location. The café definitely has potential. Unfortunately, the staff, or rather one particular person, is unfriendly. The opening hours should be updated online. One and a half hours before closing time, you can't sit down because "the last round" has already passed.

The waiter deliberately ignored me for over an hour. When I asked him for the menu, he was obviously annoyed. I haven't often experienced such consistent, visible ignorance of guests. I don't recommend the place. I left without ordering.

The kitchen was actually already closed, but the chef still personally conjured up a pinsa for us – super nice! 😊 Very friendly team and a pleasant atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant with very attentive staff and the most delicious food!

It used to be a good place, when it was still Café Merianbad and later, when Kupferstecher first opened. We even held a few birthday parties there. We used to be regulars, but that's become less and less frequent in recent months. It's mainly due to the service. There are a few nice employees, but they're few and far between. No matter how often you go, you're treated with complete indifference; sometimes you even feel like you're being a nuisance. Even when you tip, you don't even get a thank you; you get a completely indifferent look, no matter how much you tip. You have such a good location, such a beautiful venue, but at the same time, it's so unfortunate that it's lacking in friendliness. In any case, we'll take a break for now, because there are shops in the neighborhood that do a better job.

The waiter was totally uninterested lazy and arrogant...always chatting indoors...no visible interest in serving me. The food was wrong front and back. With every request I felt like a supplicant....it probably hasn't sunk in yet that you pay for it....and the waiter gets money for the job. Service and friendliness cost extra there. They seem to be able to afford it. I've been going there off and on for years... but whoever manages the store now, if there is a boss at all, should take a closer look at their staff.

The brunch was high quality: good cheeses, salads and also warm dishes. I thought it was great and not too meaty. We also went there in the evening and had a good meal and sat comfortably. You can tell that the food used is not cheap. Only the music is a bit annoying and a bit too loud.

Unfortunately, the unfriendliness of the service can no longer be beaten. It's better not to subject yourself to such a catastrophe.

Stunned at how many people rate this place as great! Maybe I just visited them on an 'off-night'?? 🤔 The restaurant has a nice comfortable feel about it, nice seating and a good selection of Beers. As for the food and the Service, they were terrible👎 The food took a long time to arrive, the Bruschetta was good, so too the Tapas. I couldn't tell you what the Salmon Tartare Starter tasted like, as that didn't arrive until AFTER the Main Courses were being served 👎 When we told the Waiter that it was too late, he kept wandering around the Table trying to get somebody to accept it 😱👎 As for the Main Courses...The Pizzas and Burgers seem good, the Pasta was poor (Carbonara with watery Sauce 🤢). The Snitzel was bad, so too were the Argentinian and Fillet steaks. My Fillet Steak whilst quite big, was an awful piece of Meat 👎 It was also served cold🤢 and without a Steak Knife (I did ask for a knife 3 times, but gave up..🫤) I appreciate we were a large group and it could be excused that they were 'short-staffed', but the meal had been booked for weeks, so they had time to prepare, so I don't think it was that. Overall just a bad place to eat, I wouldn't go back 👎

We wanted to eat green sauce and were really looking forward to a relaxing evening on Sunday. The potatoes were cold and still half raw, they looked as if they were a few days old - at least not fresh. The side salad looked good, but while we were eating we were greeted by small mosquitoes or something similar. The place is well presented from the outside, but that's it. After kindly informing the waitress, the meal was canceled. So I won't be eating out again.

Overall it the food was good. I was very satisfied with my vegan pinsa, the dough was very good and the tomato sauce nicely seasoned. My friends had a classic burger, some raviolis and pasta. They all said it was good (nothing too special but as good as expected for this kind of price range). The part we were disappointed in was the desserts. My friends ordered the profiteroles and the creme brûlée. They looked really good but tasted like it had been either defrozen or were a bit old. It didn't taste like the restaurant made them themselves. The choux of the Profiteroles were very hard and kind of tasteless. The creme brûlée on the other hand had a weird old taste. Service was okay but really the minimum, our waiter barely spoke during the entire time. Maybe it was an off day for him. The restaurant in itself is very nice though, we still had a good time. I wouldn't say you should not eat there cause overall it was okay and the setting is nice but I would recommand to avoid the desserts for sure. They are not worth it.

Popped in to Frankfurt between flights (long layover after long haul from Oz to UK). Good coffee with great staff. Newly reopened rustic public shower facility was so welcomed with hot water and the staff keen to describe the history of the building. An old public baths!

The only thing that was good about this restaurant is the location and the ambience. The food and the staff are not recommended or hospitable.

We were here for brunch for the first time today and we were very impressed 🤩 The selection is good, the buffet is constantly replenished and the service staff is very attentive. The coffee is super tasty (good portafilter machine). 1 star deduction for food, as there could be a little more warm food at the brunch buffet. Yes, this is a childhood memory! I remember it as Merianbad in the early 70s. You could shower or bathe for a limited time for 1 Mark. Ah, the old days! Enough of that. A week ago, I was sitting outside with my wife and sister in glorious sunshine. The waiter walked very arrogantly, with his nose in the air ↗️, deliberately past us several times, and also past other guests. After we made ourselves known several times, he came to us listlessly and took our order. The same thing happened with the payment! I have no idea if he was overworked? There was only some activity. He's just the reason I'm going out on a limb with this review! You would have deserved 5 stars with a friendlier waiter. I will definitely go back to the Kupferstecher, which also brought back my memories. Let's see if anything has changed with the arrogance? Then I'll revise my review and award it five stars 🌟. P.S. Don't wait for the one restaurant reviewer to honor you; every guest is a reviewer! They should be served that way, not just fobbed off.

We were visiting my son and ended up here by chance while looking for a brunch option. We were warmly greeted and served, the buffet was rich and the boss bought us a grappa at the end. We would love to come back!

We have been coming for many years and are always very satisfied.

Had dinner there on a summer evening. It was normally busy. Ate Pinsa and, in fact, 2 cyclists, 1 Cola Zero. 39 euros. Service was actually friendly, food actually came quickly and quickly. Was hot and tasty. Due to the location on Berger/Merianplatz there is always something to look at. Overall everything is ok. As a local resident, I can actually only recommend it. All the graffiti on the building is bad. Why don't you actually get rid of it? Because a short time later everything is full of the unsightly things again. Hmmmm.....actually.

The store has real potential but is in dire need of new staff. Outrageously rude and completely out of place. I was given the menu without a greeting and the atmosphere was generally not inviting. The location and the furnishings are super nice but not worth another visit. Btw I had a hair in my cake, had "complained" about it and there was absolutely no word from the gentleman who served us. He left without a word and brought the bill. Very bad service!

Been living in merianplatz for 2 months now.. Food and staff are excellent.. lovely area. Be careful ordering a burger they make them medium , in Ireland we like them cooked well.. Beers and drinks menu are 4 out of 5 and staff can speak multiple languages which is great. Would recommend and return

Bad place to be on a Tuesday night.

Very disappointing experience. Very rude staff. Small portions and high prices. In case it wasn’t clear, extremely rude staff.

This was definitely one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The waiter was rude and condescending and seemed annoyed by our presence. Despite free tables, we were treated like a burden and asked to leave. The lack of basic courtesy from the staff was shocking. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant experience.

The food is incredibly tasty and the menu offers a very large selection. In summer you can sit outside nicely. I give five stars for that. Unfortunately, I usually find it too loud in the restaurant itself, because the music is often very loud and the conversations of the guests also mean that you have to speak very loudly in order to have a conversation with the other person. Therefore one point deducted.

Although the building looks run down from the outside, the Pinsa was really excellent. Service was okay but not particularly friendly.

The last time I visited, the chicken “smelled”. Last week there was the second chance. Neptune - cold fish platter. I immediately canceled the caviar. A mushy, oily piece of herring, a piece of trout fillet, 2 slices of smoked salmon (both edible with lots of lemon). 2 piles of indefinable mayonnaise mixture, one of which was supposed to be shrimp cocktail. Not eatable. And the cherry on top: mustard. To fish. The best thing was the baguette and the service. €16.90 was thrown out the window (there was an espresso on the house). The boss didn't come - he was stressed. This is what the food looked like too. We wiped the dirty table and chairs ourselves. Guys, if the cuisine doesn't change, the great location will soon no longer be of any use to you.

The food was OK but the service was terrible. No hello, no kind word, no service check. The waiter had a really annoyed look on his face and didn't even look at our table, even though there were maybe 15 people in the whole place. Don't think I'll come back. It's a shame, it used to be a lot nicer.

After our first waiter wordlessly put the really dirty, worn-out cards on the table and remained silent when asked, it took 15 minutes for the waiter to come to the table and bring over the same cards again. It's a shame that she apologized in broken German: "I'm alone in the service". Not the best conditions for Father's Day. Bad personnel planning. The Spritz Aperol for €. 8.50 seemed like alcohol-free to me. All in all: Saved on service, saved on alcohol, but didn't save on price. I certainly won't be a regular. Price performance 4/10.

The food at Kupferstecher is good as usual and the location and ambience are great too. However, you should be careful if you just want to have a drink and don't have any cash. Card payment only from 10€ In my opinion, being able to pay any amount with a card in a larger cafe and restaurant must be part of the service these days.

Als wir das letzte Mal hier waren, hat das Hühnerfleisch "gerochen". Der Chef kam und hielt uns einen Vortrag darüber, wie sehr auf das Einhalten der Kühlkette geachtet wird. Hilft ja nix, wenn es zu lange liegen bleibt .... Heute hatten sie die 2.Chance. Stühle und Tisch waren dreckig. Die haben wir selbst abgewischt.. Das Essen: Neptun - bestehend aus einem kleinen Stück Forellenfilet (ging so, Tendenz zu "eher schlecht"), Matjes (sehr ölig, matschig und nicht frisch), Garnelencocktail (keine Ahnung ... wohl ein Fertigprodukt, total fettig und hat auch nicht frisch geschmeckt), Räucherlachs (ging so ... mit viel Zitrone), Kaviar hatte ich gleich weggelassen. Und dann war da noch so ein in Mayonnaise ertränktes irgendwas - nicht zu erkennen, was da sonst noch drin war. Die Krönung: Neben einem Klecks Meerrettich gab's Senf. Senf!!!!!! Zu Fisch!!!! Das beste war jedenfalls das Baguette. Der Chef kam nicht - er ist im Stress, sagte uns der sehr nette junge Mann vom Service. Es gab einen Espresso auf's Haus - die 16,90 für den lieblos angerichteten Neptun-Fischteller wurde dennoch voll berechnet. Eine 3. Chance wird es nicht geben. Schade. Dieses Lokal lebt von der tollen Lage direkt am Merianplatz. Kann man sich da alles erlauben?

Terrible experience. Waited 1h30 for the food, more than 30 minutes for the drinks. The waiter was rude all the time and charged us a tip without asking for it, even tried to hide the receipt. Avoid the place at all costs.

A place where I always liked to go. Unfortunately the new owners offer no sympathy. The servers are cold and not very friendly. So much so that after our drink we preferred to eat elsewhere.

Poor service - we waited to order for a very long time and then even longer for our food! Waiters were not polite. We were charged with a 10% extra, without even being asked if and how much we wanted to add as a tip. It’s a pity as the place has potential and is in a nice location.

Nice but average. The ciabatta were very tasty, unfortunately the Dark and Stormy had nothing to do with a Dark and Stormy. Service was okay.

I really like it. The restaurant is locally located and can be easily reached by public transport, on foot from the neighborhood and by bicycle. The service was fine, the food was very tasty. The drinks (cocktails) were also okay. Come back.

The dishes are prepared with attention to detail, where else can I get sweet potato fries with truffle mayonnaise. Plus friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. An absolute highlight in Frankfurt Bornheim.

We stopped in for drinks, so I can't comment on the food. The interior doesn't quite live up to the charm of the exterior. The lemonade was average, and the atmosphere felt a bit cold, possibly because we visited on a late weekday. The service was okay. Overall, it didn't exceed expectations, but nothing was particularly bad either.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und reichlich. Auf allergiebedingte Sonderwünsche wurde sehr gut eingegangen.

One (inattentive/stressed) waiter for the whole restaurant. The Schnitzel was ok but too oily/greasy. I can only recommend this place in the warm months when you can enjoy a beer or two outside…not that the service is any better but one doesn’t seem to mind it as much. The food (except for the Pinsas) is mediocre at best.

Especially in summer I can sit outside here, the atmosphere is great, drinks and service too. When it comes to food it really depends, my impression is that the cuisine has declined since Ciro moved in. Still recommended overall.

Sehr gutes Essen. Vom Ambiente her etwas "Schicki-Micki" aber noch okay. Leider etwas zu basslastige Musik im Hintergrund. Ansonsten insgesammt ein guter Aufenthalt. Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder!

Im nicht ganz voll besetzten 'Kupferstecher' am Samstagabend begannen wir mit einem kaum noch blubbernden Prosecco, gefolgt von einem wirklich leckeren Fläschchen 'Blanc de Noir' zum fairen Preis. Zum Essen hatten wir den Burger, Cordon Bleu vom Kalb, einen Salat mit gratiniertem Ziegenkäse und einen mit Schafskäse. Alles sehr lecker, gute Portionen und optisch ansprechend. Trotz nicht voll besetztem Lokal war der Geräuschpegel leider manchmal fast unangenehm hoch, auch die Hintergrundmusik war etwas zu laut. Den Ausschlag allerdings für 'nur' vier Sterne gab der Service, den man selbst sehr wohlwollend maximal desinteressiert nennen könnte: der Wein wurde nur an den Tisch gebracht, nicht eingeschenkt, für Nachbestellungen musste man sich minutenlang den Hals verrenken, um den Kellner zu entdecken, keine aktiven Nachfragen oder gar vorausschauender Service. Schade, denn für gutes Essen und gute Getränke ist das 'Kupferstecher' durchaus empfehlenswert.

If you want to have a nice, relaxed evening with decent food I would really recommend going here. They brew their own beer which is apparently very tasty (sorry I don't drink beer but this is the opinion of the experienced beer drinkers my boyfriend and my brother ;-)). The service was super friendly, you don't see that often anymore in restaurants and overall the restaurant has a very cosy atmosphere. Make sure to try one of their pinsa's, they are delicious! The only criticism I have is that it might be a tad expensive for what you get in the end but nevertheless, I will definitely come back here.

Sehr schöne und gemütliche Location. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, das Essen ist gut. Leider sind die Preise recht hoch. Mit EUR 6,50 für ein Weizenbier ist man da schon im oberen Preissegment unterwegs, und das auf der Berger Straße. Aber dennoch eine klare Empfehlung.

Locale di tendenza e con un ambiente molto accogliente,molti posti a sedere e vetrine su strada,un ricca proposta di cucina internazionale e perfetto american bar ed inoltre ha anche un forno per la pinsa romana ; curato nei particolari e musica che crea una certa atmosfera ad un volume non invasivo,a ridosso del centro... quando mi trovo al centro ci sono tutti i presupposti per fare serata qui,tra le varie alternative e ottimi drink, consigliatissimo.

Unser Abendessen bestand aus Vorspeisen und Salat - alles war lecker und hatte ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Einzig die Brötchen (Aufbackware) waren noch so heiß, dass man sie kaum anfassen konnte.

Tolles Restaurant! Die Gerichte sind alle sehr lecker und mit frischen und qualitativ hochwertigen Zutaten zubereitet. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne :) danke!

Wir waren soooo positiv überrascht. Hamburger mit Pommes und Salat hat fantastisch geschmeckt. Ambiente war sehr gemütlich. Bedienungen waren sowas von freundlich haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Danke an das ganze Team.

Wenn man keine Lust hat auf die Gastronomie und Wochenendarbeit muss man sich halt etwas anderes suchen….. Ambiente ist an sich ganz nett. Toiletten sind auch sauber und gepflegt.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Pasta selbstgemacht. Garnelen und Oktopus auf den Punkt.

Sehr guter Milchkaffee...+schön zum draußen sitzen, schattige Oase am hektischen Merianplatz

Das Essen & die Getränke waren gut. Der Service war allerdings erschreckend schlecht und von Unfreundlichkeit und Ignoranz geprägt.

Das Essen war wirklich lecker, die Drinks auch. Leider war der Service alles andere als freundlich oder bemüht. Der Kellner hat sich nicht einmal für sein Trinkgeld bedankt und hat uns den Pizzakarton auf den Tisch geknallt, statt ihn uns in die Hand zu geben. Der Service war leider so enttäuschend, das wir nicht wieder kommen werden.
