A wonderful little break right on the Rhine. Delicious food and friendly service.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Weinhäuschen in Mehlem! The food made us briefly believe we were in Bavaria or Austria, it was so delicious! As a native Bavarian, I'm very happy to have found the Weinhäuschen, because good German restaurants are sometimes hard to find in Bonn and the surrounding area. Whether it was fried chicken, venison stew, or boiled beef, the main courses were impeccably prepared and served with great warmth. The desserts, such as Kaiserschmarren, quark strudel, and plum crumble cake, were equally impressive. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

A highly recommended restaurant with excellent food. For starters, we had a comforting beef soup with fried pancakes and warm goat cheese, followed by a delicious schnitzel and fine boiled beef. A glass of Moselle wine rounded off the meal perfectly. The service was very attentive and courteous – and the wonderful view of the Rhine was perfect. We'd love to come back!

The Weinhäuschen is definitely worth recommending. The food is authentically Austrian. Great...The fried chicken and the black pudding roast are highly recommended. Also the best cheesecake in the region. The terrace is lovely. The only drawback is that there's no Kaiserschmarrn outside, which is only available indoors. The folding chairs outside could be a bit more comfortable. Otherwise, a great view of the Rhine and Drachenfels, etc. Conclusion: Great restaurant with a beautiful view, very good food

Schon über Jahre hinweg gleichbleibend gute Qualität der Speisen und Getränke. Es gibt viele österreichische Klassiker wie natürlich Leberknödel- oder Fritattensuppe, ein echtes Wiener Kalbsschnitzel oder auch die inzwischen etwas aus der Mode gekommenen gebackenen Champignons mit Sauce Tartare, aber auch einen guten Kaiserschmarrn u.v.m. Dazu gibt's Salzburger Stiegl Bier und auch den einen oder anderen österreichischen Wein. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und professionell. Wenn es voll ist, gibt es oft und v.a. am Wochenende ein paar Wartezeiten, die man aber gut überbrücken kann, denn die Lage direkt am Rhein, gegenüber der Drachenburg und mit Blick auf den Petersberg ist wunderschön. Auf der netten Terrasse kann leider nicht reservieren. Ein Ausflug ins Weinhäuschen lohnt sich immer.

A lovely little getaway with Austrian specialties on the Rhine. The food is authentic, imperial and royal, and the service is attentive and courteous. Prices are high, but justified by the quality. Tip: Don't go for the Wiener Schnitzel, but try the roast chicken! The apple strudel is supposedly amazing, even though I didn't eat it. My companion looked up at the sky more often than she snacked on it. And it wasn't my fault. 😂

A wonderfully well-maintained restaurant directly on the Rhine. A magnificent view, a cozy, traditional atmosphere, and a sophisticated menu. The staff is friendly, prompt, and very professional. The good wine, along with excellent wines on tap, made our trip with grandma and grandchildren perfect. The authentic Wiener Schnitzel with a delicious potato salad couldn't be better. The dishes are always delicious; my favorite is the Tafelspitz (boiled beef), and the Kaiserschmarrn (smothered pancakes) for dessert is a must on every visit. Last year's pre-Christmas goose dish was the highlight. The seating is quite tight, but that doesn't stop us from coming back again and again.

Nice location, right on the Rhine. Great atmosphere but the food didn't meet our expectations! e.g. Fried chicken with a thick breading, very dry and tasteless and served carelessly. Dishes very expensive!

The visit was based on a recommendation because of the good food. The map is small but well structured in terms of content and has a good selection. Since it is a wine house, there is only bottled beer. The rooms are small and the seating is narrow. To reach the toilet you have to leave the restaurant, across the courtyard and then into other rooms, this involves steps. Restaurant and toilet not barrier-free and very narrow.

Price/performance ratio poor I can't understand the good reviews here. The food selection is manageable. The Weiner Schnitzel was extremely thin and the breading was wavy and mushy. This schnitzel was never freshly prepared but came warmed up from the microwave. The potato salad that was served with it wasn't tasty either. A few small pieces of mustard pickles had been placed there. I expect something different from a restaurant in this price range.

You can eat very tasty food in the wine house. There are always very good vegetarian alternatives. I've been there a lot lately and have never been disappointed.

In the middle of the week. Bright sunshine and a place on the terrace... plus wonderful delicacies. We went home completely satisfied! We'll be back.

@Klaus Marinus Hoenig, who wrote the previous review. This is one of the waiters from the KuK Weinhaus speaking, I was also working on that day. This statement from them is an absolute disgrace! They ordered 2 glasses from our recommendation (which they could have tried free of charge if they asked, like all of our open wines!) and their statement was that we didn't like the wine. Three employees then tried the wine from the bottle in question, from another unopened bottle from this delivery and from their glass to rule out that it was bad. It turned out that the wine was perfect. They ran into the restaurant in a rage, were completely beside themselves, refused to let anyone talk to them and asked for the boss. He tried to explain to them that a wine that does not suit their taste cannot be taken off the bill, why should they? But since they were completely out of control, normal conversation was not possible with them. If the wine is not OK, it will be taken off the bill without exception, but if it does not suit your taste we will not cover these costs, which is completely legitimate. You are welcome to come by and talk to us when the troubles on both sides have calmed down. Then the first wine is on me too. But I can't let this incorrect assessment stand. Best regards

I have forgotten how often we have eaten at the K&K Weinhäuschen, as a couple, with family, with friends and even at larger events, even if in the recent past we have occasionally been dissatisfied with the quality of the food. Last Saturday the two of us spontaneously went there because of the good weather. We ordered the wine recommendation with the meal, supposedly a Grüner Veltliner from Bründlmayer, which my wife and I simply didn't like, which actually tasted like nothing at all, probably stale. I discreetly told the waiter this and we ordered the house Veltliner. It was only when I was billing that I realized that the first two glasses of wine were also included in the bill. When I questioned this, I was scolded by the service team and then also by Mr. Kagerer in a manner that was unsurpassed in terms of abrasiveness and which I have never encountered before. It's a shame, completely unprofessional behavior, stupid and completely unnecessary, one less option.

Very cozy, friendly staff, typical Austrian dishes that also taste good (which is of course the most important thing; I had Wienerschnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert). And in summer the terrace directly on the Rhine is unbeatable.

I was a guest at the K.u.K. as part of a family celebration. Wine cottage and I'm still excited about this stay: • in an interesting, pleasantly antiquated atmosphere with a great view of the “Father Rhine” • we took a seat at the finely set table and • Were served friendly and quickly by attentive service staff. • The food and drinks (a la carte) were balanced in terms of quality and quantity. Mmmm, very tasty! • Conclusion: Always worth a visit! Pre-registration makes sense.

Best schnitzel in the whole world!!!!!

Absolutely delicious food - I've already tried a few dishes, they're all delicious (my tip for desserts: the cheesecake!), if you have any: dogs are allowed (for those without: none have been intrusive so far), and the waitresses are great - very friendly! The location is also great, take a walk along the Rhine before and/or after? No problem. My girlfriend and I are so excited about this restaurant that we also invite our wedding guests to eat there.

We have loved the Weinhäuschen for years, not to say decades (back then at the other location). Our favorite restaurant.

As regular visitors to K and k on the terrace, we experienced a bitter surprise inside the restaurant: Claiming to be Viennese is a glib assertion. Wiener Schnitzel was simply miserable, inedible. Therefore: Be careful, pleasant terrace, restaurant and service very questionable, rather avoidable. In addition, there were noticeably higher prices and poor quality. This is neither imperial nor royal!

Austrian restaurant, upscale, but also regional cuisine, slightly more expensive. Nice ambience, view of the Rhine and Petersberg. When the weather is nice, there is terrace service. Went there for the first time on May 24th, 2024 (Friday). Original Viennese schnitzel with cranberries and half a lemon, served with potato salad dressed with cucumber, not my cup of tea, also seasoned too lightly and lacked a bit of kick. Next time I would take fries or fried potatoes for €28.50. For dessert I had pancakes with poppy seed filling and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, €6.50. Drink Viennese Radler. You should reserve your space, as it is also busy during the week (we were there at lunchtime). Will definitely come back again.
