Kuchi Mami in Köln

Unfortunately, I'm absolutely disappointed—everything went wrong right from the reservation stage. We were pretty frustrated and decided to eat somewhere else, where it's a bit quieter and they take more time with their customers.

Very tasty food. Unfortunately, it's located on a main road, so it's a bit noisy outside. Great service and good prices.

Delicious and within walking distance of the main train station. Perfect if you need to pass the time.

we are a group of 10 who ate a little differently. the very worst food place I have ever experienced… the service is bad comes and takes the food order first but isn't it normal that they should ask for drinks first?? and not only that, it took about 15 -20 minutes before the drink came.. and when it comes to food, well what can I say, phois tasteless not only that but it doesn't come with hoisin sauce or fresh vegetables like it should be… 1 order soup nr 21 and 22 but they make 2x 21, soup no. 21 is absolutely terrible tasteless it’s like they had just taken the broth from pho and added some flavor from a can… and the spring rolls and rice with meat dish is too spicy too much flavor… I strongly recommend not coming here.

It's too hot in here. No air conditioning. The food was tasteless. Nothing good about this place. The only reason we ate was because we were hungry.

Every dish was perfect. The ingredients were very fresh and well-chosen. The tempura ebi was extremely crispy, and the avocado was creamy to perfection. Everything was simply delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Went here tonight after reading the positive reviews. However, my experience wasn’t so great. I was served cold prawn dumplings for starters, it tasted terrible. The sushi was not so great. I was served my drink very late after asking for it a couple of times and when it arrived the portion was tiny (it was an Aperol spritz) Most of all the service was horrendous. While I didn’t mind waiting for a table, though when it was ready, I was ushered like a dog to hurry up inside. I felt humiliated. Avoid this place.

Great, I can't say more. I've been there about 10 times in total, inviting several friends. It was always beautifully decorated (and the food) and I was always surprised by how delicious it was. I recommend the Crunchy Sushi (once) and the rest from the specials section (where the Buddha Roll is). And for drinks, the Geisha Cocktail, very tasty.

Just a bad experience overall. Food looks nothing like the pictures, ingredients are of a very low quality, and the waiting time to be served unnecessarily long. One vegan and barely any vegetarian dinner options seem like a joke.

I came to this place be sure of the reviews, but left disappointed. I arrived and sat down for about 20 mnts with nobody checking on me or anything. I had to go up to the kitchen area twice to get my order in. After the first 20 mnts I went up and the guy in the kitchen told me to go back to my table that someone would come in. There was only one guy attending to tables and it was busy. After about 10 mnts after I went up to the guy, I went again and a lady came out to take my order. I ordered sweet and sour soup with shrimp, it was okay. And then the main dish, the sick one ( not the curry one) it was good, I warned that it’s probably for 2 ppl. The place requires you to spend at least $20 to use your card. It was a lot of food for the price, which is good I guess, but the service, only one person, and the feeling that you are just bothering them is unacceptable.

Out of this world in the most amazing way! I really adore sushi and every time I get the chance I try a new place and this one was just an amazing experience. Starting with the ambience, music and decor. Absolutely beautiful, relaxing and it feels your heart with warmth. The service was incredible, very attentive, professional and kind. And the food, holy moly!!! Look at the picture or video I made! If you think it looks amazing, well it tasted even better!!! Really really well made sushi, with perfect amount of rice, fish, etc. The ingredients were fresh and everything so delicious. The plating was also very beautiful. Absolutely loved it and will definitely come back when visiting Köln!

July 7, 2025 Kuchi Mani is an unassuming, rustic Asian restaurant. Teriyaki is served on a large plate with wok-fried vegetables (in season). It's very simple. You can choose between a knife, fork, and spoon or chopsticks. I was successful with chopsticks 😂. The food isn't as spicy as you'd expect from an Asian restaurant; it's more suited to Germans' sometimes sensitive stomachs. It's worth coming back.

The food was delicious, but the platters were simply too small for several people. The wait time was also rather long, especially since it's such a small shop. The ambiance could definitely use a little more attention.

The place is cute, the service is good. I had the beef pho, and unfortunately, it wasn't good. Very flavorless, over-loaded with cilantro, which didn't enhance it. It tasted like dishwater. Unfortunately, I can't rate the other dishes.

I spontaneously went there with my friends last Sunday without a reservation, and we got a table right away. The service was very friendly, the interior was nice, even though it was rather unassuming from the outside. The food was excellent. The soups and sushi were a dream. I'll definitely come back next time.

We went to Kuchi Mami for lunch and were very impressed. I had the peanut beef for just under 10 euros. The portion size was just right, the beef was tender, and the peanut sauce was delicious. We'd love to come back!

One of the best sushi we have eaten here but the service is extra slow. They definitely need more staff. We have been there around 12:30, there were 5 tables in total and only 1 waiter. Our food was in our table around 13:30. When we were leaving around 14:15 there were approx. 9 tables and 2 staffs. Anyway if you are ok with waiting, you should definitely try the sushis.

Delicious food! We had sushi as a starter and duck as a main course, both equally delicious. With the sushi they even decorated the plate with a kind of wasabi sauce flowers and the main course was complete with dry ice as decoration. Food and presentation of the food is therefore A+ The only point for improvement is the service and the decoration of the restaurant. The service was very fast but not very friendly.

We had tofu coconut curry 🍛 and duck. It was delicious, especially the tofu curry! Definitely recommend. The service was fast, maybe in 10 minutes the food was ready. There were just a couple seats available, and some time after we came, they were all gone. So maybe book in advance.

A very stylish, cute restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious. All special requests were fulfilled. The service was very friendly and accommodating, answering questions at any time. The restaurant was full the entire time, and several guests were turned away because there was no room. The sushi is very creatively and imaginatively presented and tastes incredibly delicious.

The sushi is beautifully presented! The atmosphere is cozy. Service is fast and helpful. The restaurant, especially the small corner on the right, is in need of a facelift.

We had reserved a table here with the family to round off our visit to Cologne. Everyone was extremely satisfied. The appetizers were excellent, as were the main courses. I had crispy chicken with peanut sauce, and I have to say it was one of the best peanut sauces I've ever had. The kids also had a blast and devoured everything.

Very tasty food, but unfortunately the young man in service was all alone in the almost full restaurant. This means a slightly longer waiting time.

Small restaurant with outdoor seating. Very good and tasty sushi with delicious sauces. Very friendly waiter, but unfortunately he was alone and you had to wait a bit to pay, but it was ok because we didn't have any stress. We were lucky and got a table without a reservation. Highly recommended.

We ate here twice and found it extremely tasty both times. Vegetarian spring rolls as a starter and butterfish in a clay pot with lots of vegetables - highly recommended. The sushi dishes are presented very elaborately and so the meal is also a visual experience. The Seevice is super fast. We are coming here a third time too.

Went there on a Friday evening. It was tasty but very little for the price. Unfortunately the tuna was not of high quality. The waiter was very friendly & quick. The toilets, however, are a disaster. Basically it's nice there but the price-performance ratio doesn't fit. We wouldn't come again.

I found this restaurant by their good rating in TripAdvisor - service was good (not grat, just good) , but food quality wasn’t. I would not come again in my next trip. I mean is not a “bad place” I think is a regular one but definitely a tourist trap

The food was good, fresh and there was also a vegetarian selection. I would recommend making reservations, it was quite busy even on a Sunday evening. The restaurant itself is cozy, but unfortunately you can't sit very well on the stools/benches without backrests, so you can't spend a whole evening here.

On Sunday, during a weekend trip, I discovered this little restaurant and spontaneously grabbed some sushi. The wait was very short, even though the place was busy. The staff was incredibly friendly. The best sushi I've ever eaten! I highly recommend it!

We happened upon the restaurant one evening, received a friendly welcome, and quickly got a table. The homemade lemonades are delicious, and the sushi also has a great selection, is good value for money, and tastes delicious! A lot of effort is put into the presentation. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive!

Sehr angenehmes Verhältnis zwischen Reis und Füllung. Man schmeckt die Inhalte sehr gut raus. Auch nicht in Dressings ertrânkt. Schon die Präsentation des Sushi machte Lust darauf. Preis-Leistung fair.

Great shop with Asian fusion cuisine! Four of us were there spontaneously and got a table straight away. The service is very attentive, helpful and quick. Special requests such as “extra” spicy were dealt with professionally (the food was not “changed”, but various hot sauces were also served). The price level is absolutely fine. Please stick to the special card, there are already enough “uniform Asians”!
