Krua Thai am Heumarkt in Köln

My son ordered duck from a delivery service on Friday evening... afterward, he first felt nauseous, then vomited, and had severe diarrhea... that points to total contamination... Since duck is constantly being ordered, it can only be employee contamination... Didn't wash his hands??? after using the toilet or something... Today is Monday, and he's still sick and totally exhausted...!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 Ugh))

The self-service shop and the Heumarkt itself have little charm, BUT: Fantastic food, nice staff, moderate prices

The order was taken incorrectly and then corrected incorrectly. The duck was more than "overcooked"—I've never seen it so crispy. A shame.

We picked up our food. The food was very tasty, and the portions were decently large. Some dishes don't come with rice, but it doesn't cost much to order it.

Decided to try this one out based on reviews and I am glad I did. The lady at the counter was very friendly (we seamlessly spoke in English), they prepared our order in a pinch and the food was tasty. I particularly liked the sauce trays that you can get from the counter, including soy sauce, chilli sauce, fish sauce with chillies and chilli powder. Once you have placed your order at the counter, the restaurant is self-service. But the prices are so affordable and the atmosphere so nice that you won't mind :)

The food is very good, but it's more reminiscent of a fast food joint than a restaurant, and the prices are moderate. You do have to clear your own dishes, though. Nevertheless, if you're in the mood for Thai food, you'll receive excellent service here.

The place is really nice and clean. The kitchen is very tidy and clearly visible. First impressions were good. So I ordered fried rice noodles and satte gai, and I actually wanted a tom yam gai (without coconut milk), but unfortunately, that wasn't available. Which I don't understand, because you can simply leave it out when cooking. So I had to have a vegetable soup. Unfortunately, the vegetable soup was full of pepper, which made it inedible. The pad Thai was delicious. The taste was top-notch. I haven't had such good pad Thai (thai-style fried rice noodles) in a long time. The satte gai were also good; the meat was of good quality, and the dip was good too. The system is similar to a fast-food restaurant. You order and pick up the food when the number rings.

Whether it's Pat Thai or fried noodles with meat, you can hardly taste the difference. The lady at the cash register was a disaster. We weren't very familiar with the different options. She was annoyed by this, and instead of advising us, she said, "How could she possibly know what we like?" The nice lady still needs to work on her friendliness and customer service. The soup served beforehand was delicious... The show kitchen is super clean, and the atmosphere in the shop is nice. However, for two dishes and a soup for €36.00, you'd expect better quality...

The restaurant is a mix between a snack bar and a self-service restaurant. Very tasty authentic Thai food. The Pad Thai with the shrimp was very tasty. Papaya salad also very good. All in all it tasted like Thailand. We won't be there for the last time.

Unfortunately I fell for the good reviews. We had picked up the dish C3 (yellow curry with chicken). Despite the spiciness level ordered, zero spiciness. Completely Europeanized food. Little chicken, little vegetables, little sauce. Loveless mass processing. Never authentic Thai cuisine. Order somewhere else!

Never again! After years of being regular customers, we were served an inferior dish. The young boss of the Heumarkt branch reacted to the request for improvement in an arrogant and know-it-all manner. Very disappointing…

Solid Thai restaurant for Germany. In Deutschland it’s often hard to find Thai restaurants that serve pad si ew and willing to actually make your dish spicy. This place hit the spot. Also I like ordering and paying first rather than waiting around all day for the check.

Ordered by phone to take away. The order was only taken after I arrived. To do this, you first reached into the leftover container with your bare hand and pulled out a roasted duck. Everything would have been fine if you didn't play games like that. I'm glad I didn't eat here after seeing the picture with the mouse.

I have been coming to this restaurant for quite some times , but today I saw a tiny rat ( mouse ) running around while eating and I ended up raising this issue with the chef , even if I approached him nicely he was very dismissive and he said “okay what “ instead of apologizing or comforting me that they will take care of this . This is completely unacceptable and also a health hazard because that means there are even more rats that I haven’t seen .

Great Thai, very uncomplicated, centrally located and more than fair in price… When I'm in the Maritim opposite, I usually go here, but next door I also try solid Rhenish ones Kitchen in the Malzmühle… Rating refers to the price/performance level, there are better Thais, but everything comes together here in an uncomplicated, tasty and moderately priced way.

Super delicious healthy food. Just the right thing after kebab, curry sausage and fries. Service friendly and accommodating. Nice conversation with the owner who came to our table to chat with us about the Cologne Carnival. Thank you very much and greetings from the Tölzers from Upper Bavaria.

Puedes entrar y esperar una mesa. Nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa en ambas visitas. Es un lugar bastante pequeño, pero las mesas parecían girar rápidamente. El menú estaba en alemán, pero google translate lo resolvió. Realmente nos alegramos de haber encontrado este lugar.

Super tasty, fast and freshly prepared Thai dishes. You order at the counter and when the buzzer rings you pick up your plate of food and look for a table. So an ideal place for a quick meal, but not for a long meal. Also takeaway. The flavors are very good, you can taste the wok, lots of fresh vegetables and Thai flavors of sour, sweet, salty and spicy. Friendly employees. Take your plate to the dishes yourself. Friendly prices for a large plate of Thai food, you pay around 10-13 euros.

I used to love this place. But last night my friends and I saw three rats walking around. When the workers noticed our reaction, one of them made fun of us. I don't know if this is normal in Germany, or in Thailand, but it certainly shouldn't.

Food was not tasty, very salty. Pad Thai tasted like ketchup. Cashier was impatient. The interior is neat but there is no atmosphere.

Catastrophe, I ordered something vegetarian and I got food that tasted completely like meat... I couldn't eat it at all, after which I politely asked if I could complain about it, the disrespectful woman at the checkout said to me, darling call and do not want to take the food back under any circumstances. We were here spontaneously today at around 9 p.m. with 4 people and were pleased with the humorous, friendly service! Everyone also found something delicious on the menu (vegan/vegetarian). We'll be back because we really enjoyed it!

The food is delicious and better than in many other Asian places we tried, although very salty. Price is okay, portion is big. Tasty limonades. A central location, directly at Tram station Heumarkt. "-" for a not so comfortable environment, looks not finally constructed, not cosy. And plastic cups for the drinks are not sustainable!

The best thai restaurant in Cologne!! Really original thai foods. Good location, in thr center of town, nearby public transport. The prices are reasonable. Very nice staffs as well as the atmosphere. Very high recommended! Enjoy your dining.

I love the food very authentic. In this restaurant is self service. I bought for my friends as well, they all love it! Very busy restaurant but everything is fast and the food is lecker! The atmosphere as when I was there 3-4 kids screaming, so noisy.

Not so good, not so bad ... I said twice "please, not so spicy" (nicht so scharf bitte) but my Tom Yam was very red because of pepper. And rice is not included. Maybe you'll like it more if you are really into spice🥲

It tasted good, but everything was missing the final whistle. The absence of fresh coriander in the Pad Thai or the lack of aroma of Kaffir lemon leaves in the Tom Kah Gai soup... I've had worse food, but also a lot better.

I had the pleasure of visiting Krua Thai at Heumarkt in Cologne today and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The restaurant is located in a former cult pub, which gives the ambience an interesting touch. My companion and I chose the H1 with red curry and the C5 with green curry. Both dishes tasted excellent and impressed with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The red curry in particular was nice and spicy, but not too spicy, while the green curry had a pleasant freshness. The service was friendly and attentive, which rounded off the overall impression of the visit positively. Other visitors also praise the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Some also mention the generous portions and good value for money. All in all, my visit to Krua Thai at Heumarkt was a successful culinary trip to Thailand that I would like to repeat. So if you're looking for good food in an interesting atmosphere, you should definitely stop by here!

Great food but a bit stressed employee. There were small errors when ordering. I wanted Curry C1 and not breaded duck but chicken instead of the duck. She just makes me chicken instead of breaded chicken. Only available upon request They want chicken they get chicken, that's chicken. In the end it cleared up. I would have liked a more accommodating approach. “Yes, we’ll make breaded chicken with it,” they should charge a little more, but that’s fine. Otherwise I have to say the food is great and the price is also okay

I asked for a vegan option with Tofu, when i got the food it tasted really bad and i found a piece of chicken in the dish i had. Thats not cool. After i told them, i didn’t get any offer of a new dish neither a refund. None!! Im not sure what kind of customer service this is!! A bad one i can tell you! Unprofessional in my opinion.
