Kreuzhofschenke in Kleve

It starts with a generous parkingspace in an easy to find location in the nice town of Kleve, near a nice shopping area. Very friendly and helpful receptionist, speaks German, English and even Dutch. Rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and even have a bath and good view over the town. Beds are excellent and the TV offers quite a choice. Breakfast is on the top floor, great view, friendly staff and sufficient meals and drinks. Definitely a place to visit again!

We wanted to eat at the restaurant, and the food was quite good overall. However, we have a comment about the service. The waitress didn't seem very attentive and unfortunately didn't ask if we wanted anything else to drink, even though we would have liked to order something. Throughout our entire visit, we received hardly any attention, even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Initially, we expected the service in a restaurant of this type to be at least good, but we were surprised by our experience. We've been here several times before and have usually had very positive experiences – the service was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately, the service from the waitresses was very poor on our last few visits. The food, however, was, as mentioned, good and delicious. ☺️☺️

We went there often. The steak buffet and breakfast were especially great...were? Yes, the restaurant closed on December 31, 2024. The lease was not renewed.

We had such a delicious meal here. Because of the special offer, we had breakfast every day and a choice of A or B. One day, it included tomato soup, which I absolutely hate, and this was neatly resolved. The portions are good. The staff are also very attentive in their free time. I ran into them in town, and they took the initiative to chat. They also remember your requests so you don't have to repeat them. It's hard to choose a favorite. The salmon was fantastic! The Wiener Schnitsel, as only Germans can make it, and the Argentinian steak was delicious. I think the steak, though. The salad was always good every day. And for dessert, the winner is the crème brûlée. Although the brownie with toffifee lava sauce was also truly delicious. The weekday pool was a bit more service-oriented and more enjoyable. Although both performed well. I ate like Obelix :-)
