Kouzina Greekstreetfood & Wine in Köln

The two of us had dinner there yesterday. Restaurant almost empty. Ordered octopus on pea puree. The puree was lukewarm, almost cold. When I pointed out the plate was taken away and brought back a few minutes later at maximum lukewarm. No apology from the waiter. Puree was almost unseasoned and not made from fresh peas. Octopus consisted of three stick-thin, approx. 6 - 7 cm pieces. Also lukewarm and not freshly grilled. Overall, canteen level, far too little to fill you up and at 20 euros, significantly overpriced. Accompaniment was stuffed zucchini, covered in a thick, roux-like mush. Also at canteen level. Overall, the visit was an expensive failure.

It has little to do with traditional Greek cuisine. We've never had such bad Greek food.

We were here with colleagues and guests and everything was great. Food was fresh and super tasty. Niko delivered great service throughout the evening and communicated with everyone in several languages, took photos for us, so gave 100%. We can highly recommend everything!

Food and the atmosphere were fine. Service is totally depends on the waiters. One was very kind and friendly, the other was totally hectic and odd.

Really extremely nice staff, the waiter tried very hard to provide blankets and pillows as it was still quite cool outside today. The waiter gave us suggestions for meals where we could get more for our money and benefit financially. The food itself was very tasty, a slightly more modern Greek interpretation. I find this restaurant ridiculous. First, he made us sit in the corner of the restaurant, it was empty and no bench. Second, when my dad asked if the juice was fresh, the waiter got annoyed with him. Third, 0,75 L of water costs €7,50!! This is absurd.

After I said that I didn't order the food that way, my plate was logically taken away from me. My friend also had the wrong dish, but she didn't notice. The waiter suddenly came back and pulled the plate from under her nose and put the right dish in front of her without saying anything. When we wanted to pay, he presented us with the total bill. But since we wanted to pay separately, he exhaled loudly and annoyed, walked away and then came back with the split bill. The card didn't work for our friend and instead of asking if there was another card, the waiter snatched the second card that he had just taken out of his wallet out of our friend's hand. While other tables received an ouzo, we were said goodbye with the words "Bye then." Ambiance: The store itself is beautifully decorated and gives a cozy feeling. The chairs were very uncomfortable for me and the tables were too small. We were in the restaurant for a total of 1.5 hours and our clothes smelled massively of cold grease. Conclusion: Never again !!!

Essen leider nur mittelmäßig. Tische mega eng zusammen, man kam kaum zu seinem Stuhl und zumindest unser Kellner war leider nicht besonders freundlich.

Mein Partner und ich sind unglaublich begeistert. Das Essen war fantastisch und wir haben mit Abstand noch nie so leckeres griechisches Essen gehabt, obwohl wir schon oft sehr zufrieden waren. Der Service ist aufmerksam und alle waren super freundlich. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen!

Dishes are tasty but unfortunately really small portions. Uncomfortable chairs and tables where you can't even fit your legs properly. But at least it's a nice atmosphere, but you won't get tired of it.

So the starter was good, but the main course, I had chicken fillet with parmesan, the meat was disgusting. My husband was a little more lucky, had gyros on bread and salad, all in all the bill was almost 70 euros, we also had 2 small beers and 2 ouzo, which was probably a cheap vodka, so we already know what ouzo is . But it doesn't matter, we're here from Bremen for a few days, we don't have anything like that. Sorry for not recommending it to anyone else

My foods were not really Special. Grilled vegetables were a bit cold, really soft ( i would say more fried than grilled). The two Greek bowls were not really my taste. Service is a bit „cold“ , atmosphere ( inside was cozy but the music was too loud)

On Sunday we were guests at Kouzina for the first time. A corner restaurant that looks inviting from the outside in a great location and a promising concept: Greek Streetfood + Wine. However, what awaited us there did not even give the impression that we wanted to live up to this promise in the slightest. Creations freed from meaning, inconsistent and contradictory in their principles, presented on unclean dishes draped alongside unappetizing mountains of food. To name just a few culinary battlegrounds: Fries greasy and salty, an eggplant with a strange breading filled with disgusting cheese, four drinks - all non-carbonated and a combination of mustard, ketchup and tzatziki on a pita bread. What do mustard + ketchup + tzatziki have to do on bread in Greek cuisine? Even if the waiter was sympathetic to our criticism and tried to calm our tempers with lukewarm ouzo, this will be our first and last visit there. With little appetite for more, we won't try the dishes at Kouzina again.

Tolle Location mit tollen Ambiente und einer schmackhaften Speisekarte.Toller service,alle super freundlich und aufmerksam....Alles in allem kann ich das Restaurant empfehlen.Wie weden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!! Wir hatten Panseta - sehr empfehlenswert mit Feta SESAM ein muss ! und einen tollen Babyspinat mit rote Beete !!!!

This Greek is by far the best thing I/we have ever ordered. There were 4 of us and we had 7 different dishes and each one tasted incredibly good. On top of that there were free Nutella balls and a nice note from the chef saying “thank you from us” If you want top quality and a bombastic taste experience, order from this Greek Unfortunately I can't give 1000 points

I have visited Kouzina several times in the last few years and have always been impressed. Unfortunately my opinion changed this year. The service and friendliness of the staff are no longer what I was used to. The prices no longer seem justified compared to the quality and portions. The portions have generally become smaller, which I found unfortunate. On my last visit we had to wait 90 minutes for our food and unfortunately some dishes were missing which then resulted in another 30 minute wait. Despite these negative experiences, I have to say that the food we finally received was very tasty. Anyone who is willing to accept the long waiting times and the inconvenience will be rewarded with an enjoyable meal.

The bottled water we ordered had expired four months ago, so a non-carbonated cola in a glass was available as a replacement. The fries were soggy, the chickpea salad was completely unseasoned and the warmed pulled lamb was miserable. The best part was the tzatziki and the toasted bread that came with it. The drinks were not included in the end. Never again for us.

Very nice service! I had the Greek Bowl Vegetarian, which was delicious. The fries were very salty, but I like it that way. The starters (cheese and eggplant) were also very good. Definitely worth a visit!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we met today in the kitchen, the restaurant in terms of service and decoration is at a very good level 9/10 I would put in relation to the quality of the food I would say that the prices are expensive since we ordered a GrillTeller which contained a pancetta a small stuffed burger a chicken a pork souvlaki a sausage a country house a cheeseburger a beer and a coke. They cost €75

I have been a guest three times now and have been disappointed each time. While the taste of the food and the ambience are still acceptable, the service can no longer be said to be the same. Rarely have I been treated so badly as a guest. My conclusion after today's visit: I'll never go here again!

Super tolle griechische Küche mal anders. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Wir hatten alles mega leckere von der Karte: Vorspeise den Oktopus gegrillt- MEGA lecker !!! Feta Sesam mit der Tomatenmarmelade und der Kouzina Salat, wirklich eins besser als das Andere. ALs Hauptspeise hatte ich die Panseta und mein Mann das Tigania Rigatnato gegessen. ALso wir können den Laden nur weiterempfehlen und Preis - Leistung ist auch völlig ok ! Also weiter so und bis bald....

Ein super toller Laden! Das Essen war ein Traum! Das Fleisch sehr zart , der Rote bete Salat war mega und auch das Dessert. Meine Freundin hatte die Garnelen Pasta die war auch eine 10/10 Die Garnelen waren riesig und sehr lecker, auch das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist super Sowohl das Personal als auch der Inhaber waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam :) Wir waren alle sehr zufrieden. Gerne wieder !

Unfortunately we didn't even get a chance to try the food because we were with 5 people and waited 1 1/2 hours for our food. We were always put off with the fact that our food would arrive any minute and that your receipt printer was unfortunately broken... ALL the people who came AFTER US had their food 20 minutes later. This experience was subterranean and an accommodation on your part would be appreciated.

Great food, Greek tapas or pita. Whether on site or to take away. I can fully recommend this place. I like the pulpo and all natural pitas and bifteki dishes the best.

Ordered from the delivery service. Came very on time and everything was hot. Well, to be expected. The food: pulled pork and lamb, both juicy and still with crispy pieces; Biftekaki with a pleasant portion of red onion and a piece of lemon, wonderful; Souvlaki Kotopoulo also on point; There was tzatziki for dipping, like in Greece. There was then a free piece of bread, yes bread, really delicious bread. I was completely thrilled :)

Greek friendliness but unfortunately the food didn't taste good at all (and certainly not in relation to the price) and the fact that you have to ask for a cooler for your bottle of white wine in the shade at 25 degrees is of course not very professional either!

Our visit to this restaurant was a big disappointment. We ordered two gyros platters with pork and one gyros platter with lamb. The portions were small, the meat was dry and the pita bread was cut into tiny pieces that were neither tasty nor fresh tasting. What was particularly annoying was that we only had two small slices of pita bread per plate, and when we reordered we were only served five more pieces. The salad was equally disappointing - completely tasteless and anything but crunchy. Overall, the entire meal had an unpleasant, stale taste, as if it had been prepared long before. We paid €60 for this disappointing experience, which bears no relation to what we were served. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not justified. We cannot recommend it

The food was lower quality for the price! The service was bad such as one of them decided to take my cars while paying and tipped himself. Plus, there were tons of mice around and I wanted to run away while eating.

Super friendly chef, we cannot say the same about the waiter. They have the habit of not giving you the ticket so you can see the prices you pay. All Greeks, a detail since it is a Greek. Very good and abundant food, it is true that in Greece you would not pay such amounts, but this is Cologne and for being here it was super well priced. PROBLEM! The water! Each bottle €7.5! ! And we made the mistake of ordering 2! 🫠 We ordered: a bowl of chicken gyros and a pita of souvlaki, with some starters of various dips, two bottles of water and two “cappuccino” coffees (Costa brand, so they left a lot to be desired). They gave us dessert, as is typically done in Greece. Total: €61.7 I recommend it, and I would return, but this time without water and without coffee!

Prices are higher than on their own website, which I didn't think was right, e.g. starter Tarama is €5.90 on the website although it's €9.00 in the restaurant, etc. Unfriendly staff (not all of them with rolled-up sweatpants) Food quality very good!!! Cook very good!!! I say this as a Greek cuisine connoisseur!!! I would like to go there again, hoping not to be served by the unfriendly one.

Unfortunately, our experience was anything but satisfactory. First of all, the staff was extremely hectic. For the prices charged, the portions were either too small or the quality was not adequate. The fries were particularly disappointing: they were fried to death, soft and simply inedible. The remaining dishes were also overly seasoned and did not offer any particular culinary enjoyment. Based on our experience and comparison with many other similar reviews, we unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant. I didn't find it convincing here at all. The food is worse than at the gyros snack bar and costs three times as much. The gyro was not crispy, but rather pulled meat and limp. The fries were also limp. Other guests who seemed to know the owner were given preferential treatment. They had bread and drinks straight away while we didn't get any bread at all. I cannot recommend the restaurant.

When I came to Kouzina, I was immediately welcomed by the boss, who told me that the kitchen was unfortunately already closed (I was really very late). He offered me that he could at least make gyros with fries and I had already accepted my fate, I was just hungry. What was served exceeded my expectations! Slow cooked gyros, home-cut fries, a salad that was way more than the standard lettuce leaf with a tomato... it was absolutely great. In addition, really great and friendly service, a cool atmosphere and an overall great impression. I can really recommend Kouzina to anyone who wants to eat very good Greek food off the beaten track.

The food is way too expensive and unfortunately not good A wine spritzer costs 8 euros and tastes like water with a little wine. The waiter reacted absolutely rudely, but then brought us a small sip extra. Wine glasses don't have a fill line...?

Most of the times when I come to Cologne, I choose "Kitchen" for food. Same yesterday. Only this time I was disappointed... With the exception of the appetizers, the main dishes were far from what we are used to...pork fritters, chicken skewers, stuffed burgers, all mediocre... The service made a bad impression on us...the waiter made a remark to us because my 75 year old mother started the order from the main course and confused him...then he took care in an aggressive way to teach us how they order in restaurants. The employee at the counter attacked us while talking to us, when we turned around surprised because voices were heard from the kitchen. Dishes that we had ordered never came but were charged as normal.... The prices are particularly high in proportion to the quantity (octopus in vinegar €18.90 for one tentacle only...) It's okay gentlemen... luckily Cologne has a wide variety of restaurants! Good luck!

Small Kölsch for €5 is really outrageous. Every other bar on the Aachner is 3 euros maximum and with a much better ambience.

Under no circumstances go there! The staff is ripping people off! The staff tried to deduct us, so we would have had to pay more than €50 above the value consumed. We had 0.3 drinks. The bill said 0.4 and more drinks than we ordered. When we wanted the difference back, the staff and the boss objected. Then we threatened to call the police. The manager of the restaurant then disappeared without a trace. When the police arrived, the staff also lied to them: "They would only pour 0.4 drinks" when the menu said something different. Only then was the problem solved and we got the difference calculated by the police back.

Speisen, Geschmack super, die Hygiene im Gastraum schon fraglich. Teller nicht ganz sauber, Besteck fällt runter und landet dann doch in der Schublade oder auf dem Tisch. Umgang des Chefs mit Personal und Gästen mehr als fraglich! Er kritisiert uns als Gast, dass wir nach der Rechnung fragen. Zitat „es läuft doch genügend Personal rum!“ und dann zog er sauer davon. Auch sein Umgang mit dem Personal geht nicht. Agressiv und von oben herab und auch das vor den Gästen! Für uns das letzte Mal, schade für die gute Küche. Kein guter Gastgeber!

Great dips and delicious pita bread… Pulled gyros ok, but too mushy.

Ordered a starter and two main courses. Starter came after a few minutes, one main course came after about 10 minutes and the other never arrived. When we asked after 20 minutes, they took the now cold main course back with them and promised us the two main courses in 10 minutes. After thirty minutes we left. The icing on the cake was that the waiter took a 50 cent tip when settling the bill, even though it wasn't mentioned. Never again!
