The food was very tasty and the service was very good.

You walk in and are greeting with a welcoming smile, there’s funky Egyptian music playing, but not overbearingly loud, the decor is cool and comfortable.. oh yeah, and the food is amazing too!

We wanted a team lunch, I contacted them and they were really helpful on such short notice, order was ready on time as agreed and quality of everything was perfect, it was our first time but definitely definitely not the last time!! 🤝🏻🤝🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good and friendly staff, clean restaurant. Unfortunately my grilled meat was still raw inside and I found price for very small plate with €15 (inclusive one small diet Coke) too expensive. Will never come back again.

After eating koshary in Cairo a few years ago, I had to take the opportunity in Berlin and it was really delicious. I can't remember the taste in Cairo but the Koshary here at Koshary Lux is really delicious.

Really delicious and authentic food!

We went there again after a few years when we were in town and this time we were very disappointed. The concept has been slightly changed. There is no longer any waitress/service, you order everything in the store and then pick up your food at the counter. The table we sat at was dirty and no effort was made to clean it. The quality of the food is still good, but we won't be coming back again, it's a shame, we actually liked the shop.

Koshary tasted 100% like Egypt! Falafel was also good. Their coconut pudding is an invention. I wouldn’t have expected it to be that good. The vibes bring you back to Cairo. Asmaa, is the nicest person you can meet up with! My French girlfriend was trying Egyptian food for the first time and loved their food too. Will definitely come back

The Koshary was delicious- a bit different than what we remember from Cairo but still very very tasty!! The woman at the counter was also super sweet and kind. I strongly recommend this place :)

Koshari tastes nice, however thé steel plate is hot to carry with your self specially you need to serve your self. Hwawshi was good specially tye krunchy bread however thé spices was dominating thé flavour. Karkadeh was okay not spécial.

It just tasted burnt and bitter. Service said it should taste like that and wasn't really friendly. There's nothing worse than spending money on food that isn't delicious

Any Egyptian who doesn't know how to cook will make much better koshari than this restaurant. The amount of food is small. The hawawshi was very bad and the bread was dry and did not eat at all.

We have been coming here regularly for almost 10 years. You definitely don't need 3 or 4 dishes to fill you up, as claimed here. 1.5 main courses per person (it's most fun to share anyway) or 2 courses are enough for good eaters. There is Arabic street food with modern influences and a slight crossover. The products used are of high quality. The Koshary is always incredibly tasty in its simplicity. The other main courses are also very tasty. I also like to order additional dips or salad. Some creations have also made their way onto our menu at home. The only thing that can safely be discussed objectively is whether the best falafel is available here.

I visited the restaurant again after 5 years. I don't think the concept is entirely balanced. The portions are rather small, although the quality and presentation are good. To get full I would probably have to order 3-4 dishes for around 30-40 euros, but then I can also go to a real restaurant. But you can stop by for a little something. A lunch special would probably attract more customers who work in the area.

Prices don't work at all! Two small kofta on hummus, burger without side dish and mini packaged dessert for €30! Women were supposed to get an 18% discount today, but that didn't exist either. The taste is okay but the price is outrageous.

This place brings Egyptian street food to the next levels. We order Koshary cause it seems the signature here and it was good! Tastes more fresh than in Cairo. The Hummus is pretty delicious as well but the bread is far from aish baladi (traditional street bread in Egypt) . We try their homemade lemonade, the mint with lemon is very refreshing and the rose with orange is amazing. The staff is friendly and speak English cause their German bit limited but they always nice and helpful. Price is okay might be due to the location.

Nice restaurant in a nice area, but the food sounded better than it was. The portions could have been a little larger for the price, the Klx salad was missing some ingredients that were shown on the menu (pomegranate, walnuts, type of lettuce), but the taste was delicious but not outstanding.

This used to be a really tasty and cozy little restaurant with a great concept. I was really excited at the time. Now it's just a self-service snack bar with very few dishes on the menu. Everything feels somehow uncomfortable, which can also be seen in the few guests. Even the table wasn't really clean. Unfortunately, I didn't like it at all last time, apart from the fact that I would have expected at least more than 3 falafel balls from a plain falafel plate. I could have gone to a real falafel stand around the corner for less money, there would have been a lot more for the same money, for example hummus. Sorry, but very disappointing. I don't understand how such a beautiful concept can be ruined like that.

I still recommend Koshary Lux by word of mouth all the time, but I'll be deleting this review since Google Maps ratings have become meaningless. When Google plays along with some other restaurants who engage lawyers to intimidate customers leaving honest bad reviews, it places the value of the platform in question. -- At first glance the dishes on the menu look too simple to be anything special, but they're really super tasty with a great mix of flavors. This is not your typical falafel stand with the same things you get everywhere. If I'm hungry while near Savignyplatz I'll stop by KLX for sure.

I used to love the place but since the revamp their food menu shrank too much and the koshary is not as good as it used to. Everything still ok and everyone very friendly, just not amazing anymore

Leider nicht mehr das hohe Niveau von früher (siehe meine Bewertungen über die Jahre). Die Tische waren zudem früher noch liebevoll gedeckt, heute eher ein teurerer Imbiss mit auch eher demotivierem Personal. Dies macht sich auch dadurch bemerkbar, dass mann früher ohne Reservierung keinen Platz bekam, heute zur Hauptzeit noch problemlos und spontan einen Tisch. Der Salat ähnelt (trotz Preis um 8 Euro) einer eher lieblosen Zusammenstellung, siehe Foto. Früher mehrmals 5 Sterne von mir, heute mit Wohlwollen noch 2. Sehr schade!

Ich bin mir relativ sicher, dass ich eine Lebensmittelvergiftung von dem Salzzitronen-Labna bekommen habe. Meiner Begleitung ging es auch in der Nacht und am kommenden Tag schlecht. Nie wieder!

Das Koshari war sehr lecker, aber auch alles Andere hat geschmeckt. Es ist einwenig Imbiss artig, aber man kann dort sitzen.

Ob es sich um "die beste Falafel von Berlin" handelt, weiß ich nicht, aber der Falafel-Teller war wirklich lecker, die Falafel-Bällchen waren außen schön knusprig und innen noch weich, geschmacklich auch top. Mir persönlich waren die Portionen etwas klein, das Konzept ist wahrscheinlich darauf ausgerichtet, dass man mehrere Speisen probiert. Reservierung ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, der Laden ist sehr klein.

I ordered the Koshari and it was un real ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The dish has a mix of textures and flavors that work soooo good! Also they have really good spicy and garlic homemade sauces 🌶️ I came on holidays and i would love to have this restaurant near my house bc i wanna try everything ;;;p

Das Personal war super nett! Wer leckeres Essen möchte ist hier genau richtig 👍 Wir haben Koshary gegessen und es schmeckte wie in Ägypten 🇪🇬. Wären wir nicht aus Hamburg wären wir bestimmt jede Woche da.

Kleines Lokal mit sehr leckeren Speisen und Getränken aus Orient, Ägypten und Nordafrika. Es gibt jede Woche eine andere Spezialität. Hier wird Englisch gesprochen.

Enjoyed our dinner together at Koshary Lux. Offers modern take on some Egyptian classics. Koshary was the best I have had in Berlin. Tried several different mezze and mains together, also accomodated our small daughter with her wishes. Will return and recommend anyone on the westside to try them.

There is no chance to get a free table without reservation 😔 The huge disappointment was that we were so excited to eat Tameya finally, then the waitress came over to mention it's out of stock.... So we didn't get the chance to eat it ...... The "um Ali" is not the original recipe or by any means near the original one cannot even be a freestyle recipe..... It's delicious but please don't advertise it as the Egyptian Um Ali.... The koshary was fine.... The mingle of flavours was on point..... Karkadeh was okay and not too sweet so fine ☺️ As they ran out of Tameya, we had to order something else which was a salad. That's not the issue, but the salad was not fresh and the mingle of flavours was so bad ...... Huge disappointment 😞....... The waitress didn't even bother to ask us it we are satisfied or not 😒😒 Overall, we were so upset to get to the place and our excitement of eating Egyptian food turned into huge turn down for us !!!!

Very affordable and with a calm relaxing ambiance. The staff is really friendly. For halal, it's better to confirm with them, but there are plenty of vegetarian options. We grabbed an evening snack there and enjoyed a great time.

Egyptian restaurant who’s trying to offer some of the traditional, authentic dishes. Friendly stuff, nice atmosphere however the food is in my opinion only average. I have Egyptian roots and was really excited about koshary and tameya but got slightly disappointed. Koshary was tasty but was not close to the original. Tameya was unfortunately too processed and salty (see pic) - rest of dishes were good.

What an amazing little restaurant! Very busy, but the amazing staff let us use a reserved table until the next people came along. Extremely friendly staff answered all of our questions in excellent English. The food was second to none; the selection of dishes we chose came quickly, were some of the tastiest vegan food we've had and were excellently priced. We had a selection of small plates and they were snuffled up soquickly I forgot to take a picture until we finished. The restuarant is small, but perfectly formed and very colourfully decorated. because it is small, I resume it can get very busy so it may be worth booking. I don't think you'll be dissapointed

I am visiting Berlin and was excited to try the koshari there. And I have to say it's such a shame that as egyptians we always said how terrible German service is and know the feeling that we wouldn't repeat that. Unfortunately this holds true for this restaurant. As soon as we got in today around 7 the person standing at the counter asks if we eat here or take away and as soon as we said here she said there is no place and it's reserved while the restaurant was half empty. This was no problem that we eat take away but already it gave a bad impression how this was handled. I was trying to see the menu and again she didn't wait and switched to English when I was looking and was handing me the menu, I asked if she spoke Arabic again it was in a rude way, that I simply left. I lived 10 years in Germany and was happy there are now restaurants that make koshari and I really can't believe I'm writing a review about an Egyptian restaurant. I wanted to show my friends the food but my enthusiasm is now gone and I wouldn't recommend going there.

Sensationelles Essen. Wir wurden aufmerksam bedient und mussten nicht lange auf das Essen warten. Und wie, war das lecker! Ein ganz anderer, herrlich frischer Geschmack! 👍

נכנסתי באופן מקרי למיזנון מהיר בסגנון אוריאנטלי - לבנוני. היה נראה די מלא ומושך. הזמנתי צלחת טעמיה- שזה סוג של פלאפל במחיר של 9.9 יורו. המנה הגיע אחרי יותר מ 20 דקות. זמן מוגזם למנה כזאת. המנה הגיעה עם שלוש כופתאות בסגנון פלאפל, מעט סלט עייף ושלושה רטבים, חריף ירוק, טחינה, ושמנת ושתי חתיכות פיתה. הטעמיה היתה לא טובה וניכר בה שהוסיפו לבלילה הרבה מאוד לחם או קמח. בקיצור אפשר לוותר.

What a delightful surprise! The food was delicious (with excellent vegetarian and vegan options) and owner Michael was great to chat with. Liked the touch of the curated playlists on the menus as well. Saving this place to return to often!

Das Koshary Lux ist eine erfrischende Abwechslung, wenn man mal nicht zum Italiener oder zum Spanier möchte. Verschiedene Gerichte, auch kleinere zum Probieren, werden hier angeboten und abends gibt es eine Bedienung. Mittags ist self service angesagt. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Die Portionen sind übersichtlich, es gibt sie aber in groß und klein. Der Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, wenn man Gewürze im Essen mag und der Gaumen mal nach neuen Dingen lechzt. Empfehlung.

Ich wollte meine Berliner Freunde dorthin einladen. Zum Glück war ich vorher noch mal da. Das bestellte Hauptgericht wurde nach 5 Minuten von einer ungewöhnlich unfreundlichen Kellnerin eiskalt auf den Tisch gestellt und war ganz sicher nicht frisch zubereitet. Auf Nachfrage behauptete sie, das müsse so sein. Mürrisch nahm sie den Teller wieder mit. Beim zweiten Versuch war die Aubergine lauwarm, die überwürzten Gummikartoffeln immer noch kalt. Ein trauriges Beispiel, was unqualifiziertes Personal aus einem ehemals guten Restaurant macht. Das war sicher der letzte Besuch dort.

Ein sehr wunderbares ägyptisches Restaurant, es ist für jeden etwas dabei und die Preise sind sehr einfach. Ich würde es gerne wieder besuchen, und der Service ist wunderbar, und das Koshari hat mir sehr, sehr gut gefallen.

Mein erster Eindruck: Super freundliche Servicekräfte, die mit Herz bei der Sache sind. Das Essen war okay, aber ich hatte mehr erwartet. Der Fattoush und das Koshari haben mir leider gar nicht geschmeckt. Der Hummus, die Okras und die Aubergine dagegen waren super. Hinweis für Geräuschsensible: Es wird abends sehr laut drinnen, da keine akustische Isolierung vorhanden ist. Danke an das Team für den netten Abend 😊

Verstehe die Bewertungen leider gar nicht. Geschmacklich war es gut allerdings, kam ich an einen dreckigen Tisch (musste die Kellner bitten sauber zu machen, was ein freundlicher junger Mann dann getan hat) und ich hatte ein Hähnchen Hauptgericht, das eine dermaßen kleine Portion war. Es kam in einer mittelgroßen Schale halb gefüllt mit Reis (ist nicht das teuerste Lebensmittel) und genau 3 kleinen Hänchnenstückchen die eher Garnitur waren für 16.90 € WOW was ein JOKE! Dieses essen ist nicht mal 3 Euro wert und dann diese Arroganz. Einfach frech, als ich die Kellnerin darauf ansprach hatte sie leider keine Entschuldigung oder Erklärung. NIE WIEDER

Was one of the best restaurants in Berlin until our last experience today. The level of hygiene is low, one of the waiters was unprofessional, wearing cut top, rude by ignoring us when we call him, he brought the order incomplete, I brought the Cola by myself, blaming us for the missing order!

An sich gibt es nichts worüber man sich beschweren kann. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, und die Vielfalt ist groß. Sowohl kleine Snacks als auch größere Mahlzeiten gibt es im vegetarischen und auch mit Fleisch. Als Ägypter kann ich zwar bestätigen, dass das Essen mir gefallen hat, für die Preise muss ich jedoch sagen würde ich mindestens größere Mengen erwarten, da bereits die große Portion Koshary einer normalen Schüssel entsprach. Alles in allem fühlte man sich jedoch willkommen und gut bedient. Die Lage ist nicht weit vom Kudamm, jedoch sind die Plätze im Außenbereich nicht so außerordentlich besonders. Trotzdem durchaus empfehlenswert. Persönliche Empfehlung, Karkadeh mit dem Taameya-(Falafel-)teller.

Der erste Eindruck war recht seltsam, doch ich bin sehr positiv überrascht. Das Essen war fantastisch, qualitativ sehr gut und abwechslungsreich.

Ich habe das vegane Essen hier sehr genossen. Ultra yummy Essen, heiß, wir hatten recht schnell unser Essen und die Bedienung ist super freundlich. Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist klasse, z.B. eine Art Rosenwasser/- limonade. Gern wieder.

Meine 2te Bewertung nach längerer Zeit. Wir waren Mittags da und es war wieder sehr lecker. Aufgrund Personalmangels ist Mittags Selbstbedienung, aber das war total ok. Wie immer alles freundliche und auch für Veggies und darüber hinaus ein wirklich ansprechendes, kostenmässig faires Angebot. gerne wieder.

Unfortunately the quality of the food was a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to eating here for such a long time but i ended up with mediocre dishes in general. I went there with a friend of mine for tasting this beautiful cuisine. I do not think that they are representing it good enough (of course they don't have such an obligation). The falafel and hummus were so bad that i was surprised. I must say that the rice in their shawarma plate was really delicious. I could eat one more plate from that :)

Everything was so tasty! Honestly I went in without much expectation because the place didn’t look super appealing. But the food wowed me. The rice in particular was very delicious! The place was quite small and the seats were uncomfortable, but well, I guess that’s kind of authentic street food vibes :D

Lives up to the billing. Small place, lovely staff, cool customers, great food. The Umali desert alone is worth the trip across town.

Das Essen war absolut fantastisch! Sowohl die Meze als auch die Hauptgerichte können sehr gut geteilt werden, was wichtig ist, da wir uns kaum entscheiden konnten. Der Service war bei komplett vollem Restaurant teilweise etwas überfordert aber ansprechbar und sehr freundlich.
