König Döner in Hamburg

I've known the shop for many years, and because there are no alternatives in the area, I've eaten there often. It never tasted particularly outstanding. But because of the prices and poor quality, I rarely go there anymore. Personally, the staff never shocked me, but I can imagine that some of the reviews are true. What bothers me most is the quality of the meat, especially from the afternoon until closing time, when the skewer is half to almost completely used up. The meat is barely crispy and consists of half of the fat. Furthermore, the vegetables, which are less fresh, act as fillers. So you often get a kebab that's 70% vegetables and at most 30% rubbery bacon.

The doner kebab bread is way too small. It's a shame, it doesn't fill you up. You'd think it was a children's doner kebab.

Beware of the "Jumbo Döner"; for almost €4 more, you don't get more meat and salad, but rather the same amount rolled into two loaves of bread. It's a complete rip-off.

Very tasty kebabs. The bread is crispy and the meat is tender. The ingredients are very fresh and the cocktail sauce is delicious. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I spontaneously tried the vegan seitan kebab today. It was incredibly delicious, and everyone was so friendly!

My standard kebab shop in Poppenbüttel. For €7.90 (€7.50 a month or two ago), you get a solid kebab. It's not a special kebab, but a simple, solid kebab. The staff has always been nice to me. Between 12 and 1:30 p.m., there's a longer line because many surrounding offices and shops are on their lunch break, so the line can stretch a bit. However, the wait is usually under 10 minutes. The jumbo kebab for €10.90 is even more generously filled, and you can really tell it's a jumbo kebab. The card accepts Pluxee vouchers and cards, which is a huge plus for a kebab shop in my opinion.

Finally, they also offer seitan (vegan and vegetarian). The guys are always super friendly. A definite recommendation!

The staff were unfriendly. The doner kebab was like a veggie doner with a hint of veal. I took a couple of bites and then threw it in the trash.

The kebab was solid. But I've never experienced such disrespect! When I wanted to buy a kebab after work on Saturday evening, the kebab man was constantly making jokes. I wanted onions in my kebab, but when he only put one in, as a joke and I pointed out to him to add more onions, he continued joking and then at some point said a Turkish insult like a*ina koyim. Without knowing that I am Turkish myself. I found this joke very unfunny and beyond disrespectful. I would never go there again and you should be very happy that there was no fuss about this behavior.

For me, it's still one of the best kebabs in Hamburg. Great sauces, the dürüm always nicely rolled, well-seasoned meat, and delicious falafel. We always give it 5/5. Always happy to make the detour. They now also have a very good vegan version.

I've been coming here for years! The staff are super friendly and always have a joke ready. Everything I've tried so far has tasted great. The sauces are nice and creamy and don't run. They recently started offering vegan kebabs with a meat alternative! I love it. Now there's something for everyone.

The meat is a bit dry and they put less sauce but the staff is very nice and kind.

King kebab: you get to it quickly, the kebab is one of the best in Hamburg, the boys do their best and are always in a good mood despite the stress. I can only recommend it

With the watery sauce and the amount of meat, you could just order a veggie doner.

The food is good but what I can't understand is why the employees are so unfriendly. I've ordered kebab there a few times just because I like kebab and there's no other place nearby. Every time was the same and I said to myself, don't do it, maybe they're tired or something. But today was really the last time. You behaved very rudely towards my child. Well, I don't like the communication at all. Never again.

Unfortunately the store isn't that good for me. The Dürüm was okay overall, but not worth coming back. There are much better options. The meat was a bit dry and shortly before the end everything was suddenly dripping with oil. Didn't convince me.

Fast and friendly service, good portions, I always enjoyed it on regular visits. Unfortunately, prices have risen steadily recently (as elsewhere).

Most expensive Dürum ever! Why? Woe betide you if you order a Dürum with just meat and sauce (without vegetables or extras), then the whole thing suddenly costs €7.50 instead of €9.50. You are not asked whether less meat would be ok, but you are charged straight away. My last Dürum in this restaurant.

Tastes like nothing and the employees are unfriendly. It's better to take the S-Bahn one stop. In Wellingsbüttel you are treated like a welcome guest and the products taste good.

NEVER AGAIN!!. I had such a stomach ache after the kebab and the next day I had diarrhea. Even 1 star is way too much for this shop. The meat was very very dry. Salad was very soft. The sauces are tasteless and the staff is totally unfriendly. As far as hygiene is concerned, it is also a disaster. Touching the food without gloves and just before scratching your back and head...just disgusting. Do me a favor and don't go there. I'm just sitting on the toilet and still have diarrhea.

Honestly, nothing special. It's the only kebab shop in Poppenbüttel. You can eat but nothing special.

We went there for dinner on October 3rd, 2024. Once a kebab plate and a Dürum kebab. Portions were generous and sufficient. We've had enough. We were completely impressed with the taste. Meat well seasoned, sauces fresh and tasty, salad crisp. We ate on site. The furnishings are functional, the acoustics have something of a train station hall to them. The shop is clean. The shop is recommended and we will eat there again.

The prices are relatively high. In return you get a normal tasting kebab/dürum/döner plate. Noticeably unfriendly is a smaller, corpulent employee/boss who is extremely unfriendly and even shouts at the customers. Overall, you get the impression that the employees don't like doing their job and as a customer you feel like a nuisance. When the unfriendly person isn't there, the others are quite friendly. The store's raison d'être is solely due to the lack of competition. There are no other kebab shops in this area. It's too narrow to sit in the store. You can only go outside when the weather is good.

War das Messer zu stumpf oder mein Hähnchenschnitzel gestern zu zäh? Brauchte jedenfalls gewissen Kraftaufwand, es zu essen. Kurz danach hatten es mein Magen und mein Darm sehr eilig, den Inhalt zu entsorgen. Lag das am Essen oder an meinem Innenleben? Unklar.

Das Fleisch ist leider SEHR fettig. Service und Ort sind aber in Ordnung.

Eigentlich bis jetzt immer gute Erfahrungen gemacht, aber heute unter aller Kanone. Der Service total unfreundlich, man hatte das Gefühl, dass man stört. Ja, es war viel zu tun, aber das ist kein Grund, zahlende Gäste so zu behandeln. Mich sieht dieser Laden nicht mehr.

Dürum und Döner Kebab, leider genauso lieblos wie der Service. Es wäre so schön, endlich mal einen Kebabimbiss zu finden, wo man sich willkommen fühlt und das Essen richtig Spaß macht 😭

Der beste den ich kenne! Empfehlenswert ist der Falafel-Döner, ich habe noch nirgends so leckere Falafel gegessen! Es war Bombe🙂👍 Auch das Personal super nett, und der Kaden sauber und aufgeräumt.....weiter so!!!!👍👍👍

Sehr leckerer Döner, ich esse den immer gerne. Nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig Soße und nettes Personal. Die Zutaten schmecken auch immer frisch.

Der Döner ist super lecker, das Personal ist meist schlecht gelaunt und wirkt als wären sie etwas vom Kunden genervt.

Habe hier eigentlich immer gern Mal einen Döner gegessen. Inzwischen wurden die Preise extrem angezogen, das Fleisch war leider nur noch lauwarm und lieblos mit dem Salat vermischt. Soßen sind dort sehr lecker, aber leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Vehältnis nicht mehr.

I am here for vacation from Canada and i can honestly say that I have never tasted a Doner so delicious like Konig doner. The service was great and the employee was able to take my order in English as well. I will definitely be visiting here again before my flight back.

Ich bin schon etwas länger Kunde bei König Döner und bin immer zufrieden. Der Döner ist ein absoluter Genuss. Das Fleisch ist zart und hat eine gute Qualität. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich auch das Yufka vom Dürüm. Es hat genau die perfekte Dicke und ist nicht zu hart oder zu weich. Der Döner ist auch nicht zu groß oder zu klein sondern genau richtig um jeden Satt zu kriegen. Man kann wirklich schmecken, dass hier viel Wert auf die Zutaten des Döners gelegt wird. Das merkt man vor allem am Salat, welcher knackig frisch ist und den Döner aufwertet. Ich muss sagen, dass ich immer wieder beeindruckt bin und sich der Döner bei König Döner auf jeden Fall lohnt. Auch die Jungs hinter der Theke sind korrekt und geben immer Gas. Hier können Sie sicher sein, dass man einen Döner bekommen, der seinen Preis wert ist.

Obwohl mir das Personal bei der Bestellung ein wenig ruppig vorkam war das Ergebnis dann doch lecker genug für fünf Sterne. Lahmajun mit Kalbsfleisch und Kräutersoße. Das Brot war knacke-knusprig getoastet, das Lahmajun recht übrig gefüllt und das Gemüse auffallend frisch. Ambiente geht so, klassischer Imbiss halt. Also nichts für ein erstes Date. Lach. Trotzdem Empfehlung, wenn man schnell mal lecker einen Döner wegstecken will oder eben ein Lahmacun. Gern demnächst wieder. Und dann vielleicht ein wenig freundlicher, die Jungs kennen mich dann ja schon. Ich werde berichten.

Essen sehr 👍 gut Sehr freundlich Wünsche werden erfüllt, Also extra Wunsch. Mittagessen in freundlicher Atmosphäre möglich. Dort kann auch gut alleine gut in Ruhe was Essen oder mit Mehreren. Kinderstuhl ob einer vorhanden, weiß ich leider nicht. Für Rollstuhlfahrer, geeignet ist unten und draußen möglich. Für drinnen muss man Bescheid sagen denke ich ,weil ist ein Raum der schmal ist ,daher vorher vielleicht sogar anrufen würde ich empfehlen. Es dort sehr lecker. Halbe Portionen ,vielleicht möglich weil sind sehr nett. Weil es alles teuer geworden, vielleicht das man halbe Portion vielleicht auch bekommen kann. Dort ist sehr lecker und man kann gut da in Ruhe sein, da der Platz begrenzt ist ,rechtzeitig einplanen. Oder sehr früh hingehen. Busse und S Bahnen gleich in der Nähe. Einkaufszentrum gleich gegenüber.

Das Kalbfleisch ist von eher mittelmäßiger Qualität (sehr hoher Hackfleischanteil), der Preis mit 7,50€ dafür meiner Meinung nach zu hoch. Der Mitarbeiter war ebenfalls nicht sehr freundlich, der Laden eher ungemütlich. Würde ich jetzt eher nicht weiterempfehlen.

Seit neuesten gibt es crispy chicken wings.Sehr Lecker nur zum weiter empfehlen!
