This is the best Korean fried chicken spot in Berlin! I ordered two types of chicken, one boneless and one with bones, and both were absolutely delicious! The exterior was perfectly crispy, while the inside remained juicy and tender, the seasoning soaked into the meat 😋 The portion sizes are quite generous, and I think one serving is more than enough to fill you up. Besides the amazing food, the service here was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is quite small and always busy, but it’s absolutely worth a visit!

One of the best addresses for Korean Fried Chicken in Berlin! The boneless chicken pieces were crispy, large and nice and juicy. The pickled side dishes that came with it were also very good. The fries could be better though. They were a little limp when they were served to us.

Super nice conditions and mega delicious chicken.

Sadly always full, but hhe pick up order works amazingly good (15-20min max). The chicken is super crispy outside and soft inside. I would recommend to take the sauces on the side as they can be quite spicy. Very friendly and welcomong staff. Highly recommended, especially with a korean beer.

Pretty authentic (especially for Korean food in Europe), nice staff, but a bit over-priced, especially in terms of drinks. Also, be ready to wait a while to get seats as there’s often a queue.

We always used Kokio Chicken, it was good, but what we got today was really spoiled and tasted really bad. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated.

One of our favorite places in all of Berlin. The food is really incredibly good, the only drawback is the waiting times and the size of the place. Unfortunately, you sit very close to the other guests, so you often can't hear the person opposite at normal volume. Despite this, highly recommended

This is the best Korean Fried Chicken I have had in Berlin. Really Really tasty.. The service is also good. The only problem is there is very little space in the restaurant and you might have to wait for 30 minutes to get in. But its worth the wait. :)

The place smells bad. The smell hit me once I got in, just terrible. It was very cold, my feet got frozen (the heater was most likely switched off). The sauce is too sweet for my taste (I had spicy and garlic). The fries are not fresh! I honestly wouldn’t pay 2€ for these fries. The only good thing about this place were the toilets, very nice. Amazing choice of lights and plants. For the money I paid not worth it at all.

Unfortunately, everything was disappointing. The moment I walked in, I was hit by a strong, unpleasant smell. On top of that, it was freezing inside. The food didn’t make up for it either. the fries were stale. It’s too pricey for what you get. Overhyped!

We got our food quickly, maybe too quickly because the chicken was completely raw inside. The chicken was almost still alive. At that price you would have expected more. I would even give it 6 stars if I could. Great food, the best chicken (especially Korean Fried Chicken) in all of Berlin. The shop is a bit smaller but still very cozy, but be prepared for a slightly longer queue. €27.50 for 2 people for around 12 large pieces of chicken and fries is more than fair. My girlfriend and I were definitely full. More than just sweetened my 6 months in Berlin.

Only place that is serving the authentic Korean Fried Chicken (serving the whole chicken). This place is maybe the closest to the fried chicken you get in Korea. The restaurant gets packed and does walk-in only during dinner time. So better be aware.

Kokio is my go to place when I'm craving Korean fried chicken. I always get chicken with bone since it's usually more juicy than boneless. The sauces are great, the crunch is there and if you order banana makgeolli on the side it's a perfect meal. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. They also speak English. Even though the restaurant is pretty small and usually full of people, it weirdly doesn't feel crowded. Another plus is that Kokio doesn't reserve tables but they have a great system where you place your name outside if the restaurant is full and they will let you in when a table is available ✨

The quality just isn't the same. The fried chicken is a hit or miss and the portion sizes are not consistent which for the price is unacceptable. However the beef dumpling is delicious so two stars for that.

The fried chickens here are to die for! Good service. You’ll probably have to wait about 30-45 minutes if you go in peak times, but it’s all worth it.

The three of us were in front of the store on a Saturday evening and there was already a line waiting outside. You could sign up on a waiting list in front of the door. After about 30 minutes we got a table inside. We ate the boneless chicken menu for 3 people. You could choose 3 different marinades and there were fries on the side. We all enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended.

This is the place with the absolute best chicken wings I have ever tasted in my life! The sauces are incredibly tasty and varied, simply perfect. The potatoes are also excellent and the rice balls are a real discovery. But the best part is the kimchi - it's just unrealistically delicious, exactly as it should be. The drinks go perfectly with it and round off the experience. The only downside, like many popular places, is the long wait, especially if you want to sit inside. So if you don't want to waste a lot of time, I recommend ordering it to go and eating it somewhere else, maybe in the park or in the car if the weather permits. However, if you want to eat inside, be aware that there are rarely any free seats as the place is really popular and cool. But overall it's definitely a place to visit, even if you have to wait a bit!

The food is delicious, but the rest... if there are three of you, you'll only get a table after the earth has rotated 10 times. Therefore, if you absolutely want to come with three people, bring a tent and spend the night in front of the shop.

I think it is so far the best Korean chicken in town. We had boneless chicken as original, soy garlic, sweet chili and extra sauce spicy sour. Very delicious and I have seen a lot of local Korean here as well. The service is very nice.

Maybe the best Korean fried chicken in Town and pleasant staff. Some people say that the best one is with bones, but I prefer a boneless. Basically the best setup for 2 people is to take 1 portion of chicken (it is pretty big) and dumplings or another dish of your choice. If you are heading there for the first, don't forget to put your name on the waiting list (located near the entrance door).

The shop is quite small. If you don't have a reservation (only for 4 people and only at certain times) you have to sign up on a list, wait in front of it and then be called. There were about 6 people in front of us and we had to wait 15 minutes. The food was great!!! Only card payment possible. There is a toilet.

The food is still delicious; succulent chicken, wonderful flavour, and lightening fast service. Payment is by card only. Original Review (January 2020): To be reasonably sure you will even get a seat in this very popular restaurant, you will need to show up early. The chicken is excellent: juicy, tasty, and succulent. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I had a single serving of chicken (and the portion was very generous), fries, pickled daikon, and two sides - kimchi and gyoza (deep fried dumplings that were delicious). Everything was good. The daikon had a wonderful light taste and was very fresh. The kimchi was also light, crunchy with lots of flavour but with none of that sour taste you sometimes get. The chicken...crunchy, moist, succulent and coated with a soy-wasabi sauce. The sauce gave the chicken a bold and spicy taste, but not too much, that left slight hit of wasabi as an aftertaste. I love complex flavours that linger the way that this chicken did. Basically everything in the meal worked together to produce a real feast of flavours.

It was so delicious. There are many different types of chicken sauce, and they are all unique and very delicious. The seasoned whelk is also great. The whelk was so big.

The food is a 10 out of 10. We waited outside and then the super nice employee Kyung brought us in so we could wait in the warmth and brought us some tea to warm up, such an attentive and lovely employee! Great place in itself! But the waiting time, in winter, is horror. It's really cold (and it's been a while) but luckily there are 2 heating lanterns. There were two of me here and don't forget to put yourself on the list before you wait.. We waited about 20 minutes and there was one in front of us. Overall, the food is great and the atmosphere is very sociable - I would say. You're close together and it's relatively small. I only have to complain about the waiting time and the location. (It was only bad in winter, I was here in summer too and of course it was bearable)

Extremely delicious fried chicken for two. We also had the chicken in the garlic-soy sauce and sweet-spicy sauce. The latter was incredibly delicious. There were also fries which were quite good. Ketchup/mayo is available free of charge. We then had tteokbokki. It was very spicy but also delicious. Kimchi was actually a bit disappointing, but I still give the food 5/5. Then we had two Korean drinks. That worked out very well for both of us (I eat a lot, accompaniment normal to a little less). Have had enough. In total it was just under €50. For that price you don't have to come several times a week. But like once a month or every other time. It was just under 50 euros in total if I remember. The restaurant is relatively small, so not many people can fit in there. I also think it's good that they don't squeeze in more places unnecessarily. So when it's full you have to queue outside and sign your name on a list. We were there at 6pm on Thursday and had to wait too long. Went there another time on a Saturday shortly before 4pm and were then right in the store. So it's best to be there a little before opening.

Used to be a favourite treat. Now gone downhill. Tonight will be our last visit. We got boneless and the chicken quality isn’t really up to scratch anymore. We were even a bit worried and didn’t eat some pieces because of a raw “meaty” smell and texture. Lots of chicken skin and just off putting appearance of some bites. It used to be large chunks of nice white chicken. The fries have always been so-so but the chicken usually made up for it - both average here. Sauces taste pretty good but much too runny rather than thick. Service quite good and very quick. Busy, small restaurant though so be prepared to wait if you want to go. Only one toilet. Card payments only.

Well, the bistro is rather middling and overhyped. There are better and more authentic Korean chicken in Berlin. It's very crowded and prices aren't that good either. For tourists who don't know it better, it's probably ok.

Perfect dinner spot for cold windy days in Berlin. We went here on a Friday and it was packed! We were able to get seats quickly because we were just 2 people. Coming to food, hands down the best korean fried chicken in Berlin We had the super spicy and soy garlic flavours. Super spicy is well , it lives up to its name but it is manageable if you alternate between the soy garlic (garlic is lacking btw here) chicken and your beer We also tried their somaek and I loved it. Quick , friendly service Will definitely be back

Don't get me wrong, the food itself is very good / soulful, definitely worth what I would consider a reasonable price, and it came quickly. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful; so both hugely deserve 5*. For us it's the experience itself that lets the whole operation down a little. The demand is far too high for the size of the restaurant; it opens at 4, at which time there's already a lengthy queue forming, so if you're not there at opening time you're pretty much guaranteed a long wait. Inside, the 2 seater (couples) and 4 seater tables are very close together, you're basically sat shoulder to shoulder with other people while you eat. Obviously, restaurant expansions cost money. I get that, but having tables so close together and feeling rushed due to the huge queue outside definitely doesn't create a cozy or chilled out vibe. I feel that not even having a booking system (the restaurant is walk in only) isn't the best idea either, it would definitely make things less busy-feeling. But yeah if you're in the area definitely check it out if you can get a table, food is great 👍

The food was edible. The tofu was very dry and almost bland even with a sauce. My friends who were big fans of the place and took me here today were also very disappointed with their food. The service was nice though.

Used to be our fav fried chicken in Berlin! The chicken is no longer the same standards 75% of the chicken pieces were chicken skin in the last two orders and the sauce was more of a broth than a sauce! So sad because it is never again.

Insanely good chicken, will go back many times

Ordered delivery at 20.10, the food was delivered cold at 20.15 (I live a couple of minutes away), meaning it was clearly not freshly made since accepting the order and cooking chicken in 3 mins is just impossible. When I complained I was told it was cooked fresh just for us 🤡 I'd not mind but if I spend 30€ for 12 pieces of chicken, I don't expect to get stuff that's been sitting out, or I'd go to Risa and spend 5€.

Small restaurant, very simple but nice. Young, hip, international audience. There are chicken pieces fried in breading that are served perfectly prepared. Juicy, crispy and simply super delicious. There are also great, homemade sauces - absolutely yummy! And the fries served with it are also great, very thin and crispy.

I absolutely loved the Korean restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious - authentic flavors and freshly prepared dishes that transport you straight to Korea. Particularly noteworthy are the generous portions and the variety of dishes. The service was also exceptionally friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after. The atmosphere in the restaurant also contributes to the positive experience: it is comfortably furnished and creates a relaxed, inviting atmosphere in which you will enjoy lingering. The restaurant is a bit small, so there may be waiting times. There is a waiting list on the door to register. After this you will then be called. However, it is a little louder inside. You can still have a good time. Sitting outside is possible in both summer and winter with a heater. The food was really delicious! Probably the best Korean chicken you can find in Berlin! It's also reasonably priced. We spent €35 for two people.

I, my family and friends love kokio. But they have recently updated their super spicy sauce and now it contains alcohol. Being a person who doesn’t consume alcohol it is very devastating and sad. I hope they come back with original super spicy sauce without alcohol.

Some excellent Korean fried chicken in Berlin. Authentic taste and great price as well. Came here for dinner with my friend at 20:00 and there was a 40 minute wait! The restaurant is extremely small and can accommodate very few people. Got in and ordered and ordered a boneless yangnyeom chicken combo for about 15 euros, as well as a somaek (7 euros), which is a shot of soju and a bottle of beer. The Korean fried chicken was phenomenal. It was very juicy and the sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, something most restaurants fail to do. The fries that came with it were McDonalds level of good, and the radish were a great compliment to the chicken. It is a bit of a painful wait, but it is very much worth it. Service and atmosphere were great too. Please come and give this place a try!

This used to be the best k chicken joint in town, but recently they have been going too easy on the sauce. Many times the chicken are not completely coated, which is disappointing. But overall it’s still worth it.

Just woaaawww!!! We got the Boneless for 1 in Spicy Sour and Sweet Chili, plus extra Kimchi and Pickled Radish. I can't describe the explosion of flavor; the meat was sooo tender, extremely flavorful and the order arrived very quickly. A little tip: be sure to get the sweet potatoes. Everything just tastes better with every bite 😍 I absolutely recommend the shop!! Very friendly service and I look forward to the next time ☺️☺️

This used to be our favorite chicken restaurant, and we loved ordering in from it on fun occasions. For the last three times the food was nowhere near the previous standards. There was barely any sauce on the under seasoned chicken, and the fries were really old and dry. The only good thing were the rice cakes. To sum it up — not worth the money.

After the 5th visit my conclusion: highly recommended. Nice staff and dark interior. You feel good. Chicken is very tasty (definitely order the pickled radish for free, it tastes great). Be very careful with soy garlic, it tastes great but the smell of garlic lasts until the end of the month. The only negative points: Unfortunately, the fries are the worst frozen goods and you have to wait a long time until you get a seat. If you can look past that then you'll have a great time (:

When it comes to fried chicken, Kokio and Gangnam Chicken in Berlin is number one. Never been disappointed so far. Be it consumption in the restaurant, take away or delivery.

It was raining and we waited in a queue to be seated. We were then seated outside, and the restaurant had mini blankets kept outside to prevent cold. It was a sweet gesture to care about customers sitting outside in cold weather. We ordered bones less chicken 6 pieces with soy garlic sauce and sweet potatoes, and ramyun with beef broth and kimchi. Both were amazing and we had our order delivered in 10 minutes!! Loved the experience overall!!

Best fried chicken and the tastiest sauce I've ever tasted.

Compared to other Korean chicken restaurants, the flavors were a bit ambiguous—not strong, but not bland either. However, the portions were generous (enough for four adults even though it’s meant for three). Just be aware that you might have to wait a while to be seated.

I tried the boneless chicken with soy garlic sauce at KOKIO, and it was fantastic—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, with the sauce adding a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The fries that came with it, though, were just okay, not particularly memorable. Overall, KOKIO is a solid choice for great Korean fried chicken, even if the sides don't quite match up.

Great chicken and drinks! I would prefer a little more spicy, but the taste was delicious. My only issue is with the service, we told the staff that we were 8 people and they refused to give us a big enough table; In the end we were 9 people sitting in a table for 6.
