"I was very disappointed with my visit. When I asked for a currywurst, I was refused on the grounds that I was Muslim. For me, this was a discriminatory experience that should have absolutely no place in a restaurant. I had hoped for an open and hospitable environment, but I was treated with great disrespect. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant."

A disaster in terms of taste and price. There are much better wooden spoons in Germany; this is unnecessary. Tables and seats are dirty. The staff are friendly, though.

We received very courteous and friendly service. The food was prepared quickly, and they checked several times to see if we needed anything else. They even brought us an extra topping for our fries. Very, very good service!

We tried you for the first time on Friday (for pickup) and were absolutely thrilled👏🏻. We ordered a bit of everything. 1. Your packaging is top-notch 👍🏻, then we were absolutely thrilled with the currywurst, it's truly delicious (but I'd work on the fries a bit if I were you 😬 they just need to be in the fryer longer and use less fat😵‍💫.. ) We were also incredibly impressed with the half chicken, so crispy and juicy... the croquettes were also delicious, I've never eaten anything like them before, and we had two burgers, which were also really good... So we had to come back on Sunday 😬 and this time we treated ourselves to the currywurst and chicken again from the app🤣🤭🫣. Thank you so much, we'll definitely see you again and hope for more branches in Cologne, including near us.😬😉. L.G

I like to eat at Kochlöffel but with these Kochlöffel hygiene should be a priority. Gloves are worn throughout and also used for other activities. Citizens are cold because of the wrong work process in my opinion.

On August 24th, I bought half a chicken to take home. When I unpacked it at home, I realized it was completely dried out, so you couldn't even bite into it. It went straight into the trash. It's disgusting that they sell stuff like that. Never again. Who knows how many hours the chicken had been rotting away.

The Triple Beef Chili Cheese should be it. It has to be freshly made, not sitting on the counter for hours. Unfortunately not! The patties were just warmed up, and the rest was carelessly squashed together. Not recommended. The chicken, on the other hand, is excellent.

I happened to be here from Siegen and was very surprised by the quality of this little shop. I had a burger and fries, and they were delicious. The service was also very good and incredibly friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

As of June 21, 2025, we've been longtime customers at Kochlöffel (including the one in Cologne Kalk). In our opinion, the best half chicken I've had in Cologne so far. Superbly seasoned, good portions. The staff is always friendly. The place is very clean. They seem to have a new manager who is very accommodating. I can only recommend it. The only serious competition is the odd chicken truck, but they only stand somewhere for a few days. Kochlöffel is always my go-to place.

Three of us went there today. I've rarely eaten fries as bad as those I had here; they were in the fryer a little too long. The mayo had a sour aftertaste. The currywurst was no more than average, and my burger was quite dry. The burgers are pre-prepared and then placed at the front of the counter, which I find rather unusual. Big burger chains haven't done this for years for no good reason. We sat there for maybe 40 minutes, and it wasn't as if people were swarming the place. We'll avoid that place in the future; there are definitely better options in Cologne.

No. I wouldn't recommend it. The chicken is old and dry. I asked before ordering if the chicken nuggets were made from fillet. They clearly said yes. When I examined the plate, I realized they were made from slaughterhouse waste stuck together. However, it was depicted as fillet on the billboard. I complained to the staff, and they just smiled it off. Annoying. A waste of money. Never again.

Was the first customer this morning and wanted to buy 3 half chickens. When I simply asked whether the very dark chickens were from yesterday, the salesman freaked out and became bitterly insulting. He seriously asked me if I was racist, he wouldn't sell me anything anymore. I'll avoid the store now

15 minutes ago I saw a sign outside for a juicy cheeseburger for only €2.20 and thought to myself, cool. Go in, the store is completely empty, but that could be due to the time. I say a cheeseburger please, and before I could even finish speaking or whether I wanted to pay with cash or card, the cheeseburger was already in front of me. Didn't want to say anything, it could be that the cheeseburger was actually just finished a few seconds ago. It was also very hot. But no, the patty was completely hardened. It was probably lying there warmed up for a good 10+ minutes. Very strange, why do you prepare the burgers before you even order? The burger made me sick but now I'm fine. Of course, cheese is not cheesy, but dry. It feels like my first review in my entire life because I'm actually too lazy for something like that, but that's really not possible. Normally I accept everything, sometimes someone might have a bad day (which is why I've never written reviews). But it is a conscious decision to prepare AND give out a burger without ordering.

If kebab or Mäckes are no longer an option, there are always wooden spoons. Whole or half chickens are also available here. For a snack every now and then - why not?

Even as a child, I regularly ate here with my parents, as we lived around the corner. Now, as an adult, I've been back after about 30 years, and what can I say? It's still the same quality you've always expected from Kochlöffel. The chicken tastes excellent, and the cheeseburger is just as good as it used to be. I enjoy eating at Kochlöffel and will be visiting more often in the next 30 years :-)

General The food wasn't a 10 out of 10. Cola tasted stale and the burgers weren't that great either

I've never eaten such bad chicken. The fries are flabby and not cooked through. Sad about money. If we had eaten there you could have eaten it. Unfortunately one star deserves -10 because of rating.

Well, we were hungry and ate half the chicken after 300 hours of flying, but tasty is different...As I said: everything used to be better!😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 Last night the halves were so good!!!!!!!!. Toilets super clean

The place is much better than McDonals, at least price-wise. My favourite place in Ehrenfeld.

My mother and I would like to agree with the positive reviews: here we know exactly what grilled chicken should look and taste like and it's really fantastic 😋😋😋!!!! Perfectly seasoned and we find the prices more than fair!!! Apart from that, we have found the staff to be absolutely friendly so far - we highly recommend it, because the grilled chicken does what it promises 😄😋👍!!!!

We tried everything out and ordered a bit of everything: - The currywurst was a bit bland in terms of sausage; but otherwise good - Burgers are made with a lot of mayo, which sometimes overpowers the taste of the chicken and the patty also quickly becomes soggy, making it rather mediocre - Veggie krossies have a strong unpleasant aftertaste, but breading is good; The chicken krossies were really great and are recommended - Croquettes with meat filling are tasty and well filled - We liked the veggie burger as it tasted good and also had a vegetable patty - Fries are well seasoned and nice and crispy - Chicken there tastes good and also has a crispy skin Overall, there are good chicken dishes and a good veggie burger here for a small price; everything else is pretty average; But if you want to go quickly, that's fine

Unfortunately the poultry currywurst wasn't that great, the one made from pork meant it tasted better. However, the chicken was super crispy, juicy and flavorful.

That's really not possible. Halal things don't exist. They lied to us. Their Halal certificate is invalid and couldn't be found. It's just outrageous

Very tasty food and very attentive and friendly service. The fried chicken with fries is very tasty. The burgers are also highly recommended. It would also be nice to have a small selection of salads, not just coleslaw.

I ordered food, delivery was fine, first of all half of the menu was missing and the taste was anything but good. I don't know what happened to Holzlöffel, but this is anything but good. I know it a little differently from other branches. Never order here again!

So the shop was taken over by a new owner about 2 years ago. Since then it has been even better and even better, so I feel right at home there!

On Sunday today: Tables and floor not clean despite 3 employees behind the counter. Answer to speech: You have to leave the cleaning to us. I'd like to go somewhere else next time!

I ordered via UberEats earlier and there were several hairs in my fries so I couldn't eat them anymore, the meat tasted and smelled strange and was therefore inedible. I didn't even try the burger and threw everything away. I paid €30 for nothing

Das Meiste von meiner Bestellung war gerade so essbar. Der Coleslaw schwamm in Mayo, enthielt etwas Dosenananasähnliches und war es daher nicht. Das Burgerfleisch ist irgendwie eklig und die Pommes sehr salzig - der Hunger treibt's halt rein. Ich denke, ich wäre tatsächlich lieber bei BK oder der Goldenen Möwe um die Ecke gelandet - zumal dort die Auswahl an schlechtem Essen wesentlich diverser ist. Auf gar keinen Fall Wiederholungsbedarf!

Zwei junge dynamische und super nette Mitarbeiter namens ,: Ludger und Asam haben meine Kritik bezüglich der Portionsgröße der Pommfrittes mit einer über alle Maßen professionellen und ehrlicher Geeste erwidert, dass ich nach einem viele Jahre andauernden Boykott, wegen einer absolut kundenunfreundlicher Bedienung und Leistung ehemaliger Mitarbeiter, ihr Restaurant nun wieder regelmäßig besuchen werde. Durch die positive Ausstrahlung und Persönlichkeit der 2 Jungs habe ich mich sogar richtig wohl gefühlt. Ein großer Gewinn für dieses Unternehmen. Klasse weiter so!

Früher war Kochlöffel bekannt für die Leckersten Hänchen . Heute ist es genau das Gegenteil. Es schmeckt leider gar nichts mehr. Und die Preise sind auch mittlerweile Fantasie Preise. Einfach nur Traurig 😢 sowas den Kunden anzubieten. Besser wäre nicht mehr hin zu gehen.

Die umfangreiche Auswahl an Gerichten auf der Speisekarte ermöglichte es meinen muslimischen Freunden, auch Halal-Hähnchenfleisch zu genießen. Können meine Freunde und ich nur weiterempfehlen! :)

Ich war heute abend am Samstag hier essen und normalerweise schreibe ich keine Rezensionen aber ich bin echt begeistert von dem Laden! Sehr sehr nettes Personal man wird freundlich mit einem Lächeln empfangen und wartet nicht lange auf sein Essen. Das Essen hat auch gut geschmeckt und die Atmosphäre ist auch sehr schön, konnte mein Essen in aller Ruhe genießen. Gerne nochmal 🥰

Ich lege jedem diesen Laden hier ans Herz als ich heute abend hier gegessen habe war ich mehr als begeistert sehr sehr nette und kompetente Bedienung die einen höflich und respektvoll empfangen haben was mich irgendwie gewundert hat da heutzutage das Wort Respekt ein Fremdwort geworden ist Das Essen hat auch nicht lange gebraucht und es hat wirklich sehr köstlich geschmeckt über die Atmosphäre brauch ich nicht sprechen wunderschön und lässt einen wie zuhause fühlen ich werde definitiv nochmal herkommen und empfehle das hier jedem der das liest auch

Sehr lecker da. Zivile Preise. Top Personal. Man kann Essen & Getränke drinnen verzehren. Oder sich draussen vor dem Geschäft hinsetzen. Man kann auch Essen & Trinken mitnehmen. Adresse ist Venloerstrasse 313 , Köln - Ehrenfeld. Man kann im Bereich des Kochlöffels draussen sein Fahrrad abstellen & abschließen. Man sollte sein Auto nicht auf der Strasse parken. Dann steht man auf dem Fahrradweg. Und das Ordnungsamt oder Polizei. Ist sehr schnell dabei. Nachdem diese vorher versucht haben. Den Halter:in des Fahrzeugs zu ermitteln. Die rufen dann den Abschleppwagen. Dann kann man sein Fahrzeug in Köln Bickendorf. Nach Vorlage vom gültigen Ausweis , Fahrzeugschein & 250 € Abschleppcebühr. Dann dort wieder abholen. Das ist die Fa. Colonia Bickendorf.

Gestern Abend da gewesen und von 2 jungs einer mit Brille und einer mit Kappe bedient wurden sehr zuvorkommend und das Essen war auch super wir kommen wieder 👍

Also ich bin sehr zufrieden ich kaufe hin und wieder halbe Hühnchen und die hole ich immer bei Kochlöffel aber was mich etwas stört sind die aktuellen Preise 4,90 für ein halbes Hühnchen das ist echt unterirdisch.

Sehr nette mitarbeiter. Churros sind sehr sehr lecker. Da steht draußen halal aber das gilt leider nur für das Hähnchen am spieß.

The workers were laughing and talking non stop while I was waiting for them to accept my order! They were not in a rush at all to offer something or to advise me on the food I wanted. Horrible attitude and service!! Now I understand why they didn’t have visitors when I came inside.

Leider eine große Enttäuschung gewesen. Am Ende nix zu essen gehabt weil von den Produkten die bestellt wurden, nichts geliefert worden ist. Statt 2x veggi und Star Burger Menu gab es eine Curry Wurst und chicken Wings. Ich Checks nicht.
