I was there with my girlfriend and had boiled beef and she had the goulash with it. It was super tasty, the people are really incredibly nice and open. Had a great evening. Top recommendation. I'll definitely come back⭐️

The Ködelwirtschaft is a cozy place, perfect for all dumpling lovers! The special thing: you can put together the dumpling dishes according to your own taste. My favorite is the spinach dumpling. (Although) there is no meat, the combination of the delicious dumplings and a fresh salad offers a complete meal. Anyone who eats here will definitely be full and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Absolutely recommended!

A really delicious goulash with dumplings, there could have been one more dumpling, 3 instead of just 2, but you can order these for an additional charge. Reservation in advance is recommended.

Knödelwirtschaft is a cozy spot that transports you to a mountain hut with its dark wood interior, old-style decor, and candlelit tables. Specializing in Knödel (bread dumplings), the menu is a dumpling lover’s dream, offering around seven different varieties, including mushroom, speck, cheese, and sage. Each Knödel was well-made - chewy but not too heavy. The flavours were food, however not very distinct. You can enjoy the Knödel in various ways, from the traditional Parmesan and butter option to a comforting clear broth or paired with hearty beef goulash. The goulash was rich and flavorful, with tender beef that pulled apart effortlessly. Even the side salads were a delightful surprise, with a vibrant mix of red beets, cabbage, and cucumbers, providing a refreshing contrast to the heavier dumplings. The service was polite, and the food arrived quickly. Even the coffee was great, rounding off the meal nicely. Prices are ok, maybe a tick on the higher end considering the base ingredients that go into making the dumplings. The only downside was a large hole in the door of one of the dining rooms, which made it quite cold, forcing us to keep our jackets on while eating. Despite this, Knödelwirtschaft is an interesting place to indulge in tasty, well-made Knödel. Just hope they fix the door soon!

Very tasty food! The ambience is amazing and more importantly the service is so so friendly. They even help you understand the menu. Definitely recommend for you if you want to try something German but are a bit unfamiliar with the cuisine. Considerable vegetarian options.

My partner is pregnant, so we called to ask if we could reserve a table outside. An extraordinarily rude woman on the other end laughed at us, and then proceeded to reprimand us for asking such a question. We should've known dumplings were such serious business! Used to love this place, but will be avoiding it from now on. Woof! :(

The salad is nice but out of the three dumplings I had the only one with any flavour was the cheese one which was delicious. The chanterelle one tasted of nothing. My partner said the bacon one was rubbish too. Maybe I should have had the goulash.

Friendly service, rustic atmosphere and very tasty dumplings. You can put together a mix of the varieties and get fresh side salads with it. Everything tastes like it was homemade. Mushroom sauce is enough for 4 dumplings. Taking leftovers wasn't a problem either.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Berlin! My first visit to Knödelwirtschaft was actually 7 years ago when I was last in Berlin, and I have thought fondly about my meal there ever since. I had the pleasure of visiting Berlin again last week and coming back to this restaurant was my top priority. This time I tried the beef goulash with 1 liver dumpling and 1 paprika dumpling (paprika was the special dumpling of the day). Both dumplings were incredible and the beef goulash was even better than I expected. My boyfriend had the boiled veal with a cheese, a bacon, and a spinach dumpling. It was the perfect meal to enjoy together for our last evening in Berlin. In addition to the yummy knödels, the atmosphere is super cozy and the staff are very warm and welcoming. I love this spot because even as a visitor from New York, it gives the feeling of dining as a local at home in your own neighborhood. I highly recommend Knödelwirtschaft (both this location and the second 'North' location which I also visited last week) to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable meal in Berlin. I am already looking forward to my next visit!😋

The food was delicious, as always. The special Dumpling of the day was great, and the portion sizes were perfect. - (The Goulash is a MUST, for anyone that has yet to visit) - The waitress that served me with the blonde hair was excellent, although there was another staff member working mostly behind the bar/counter (wearing blue) whose attitude was not so nice and was unkind when I asked where the bathroom was. When treating myself to such a nice meal I expect to be treated better, and she also seemed to be not so nice to other staff members and it just brought down the overall positive energy in the restaurant.

Extremely delicious vegan dumplings (unfortunately there were only two vegan varieties)

Absolutely spectacular. I’m here in Berlin for the first time, and the first time in Germany as well. If you want to eat traditional German food, you can’t miss this place. It’s located in a quaint but lively neighborhood, and the vibe inside the restaurant is incredible. Large wooden tables and warm candle lighting, extremely friendly staff (who speak great English as well). We had no idea what to expect, and wow was the meal incredible! In 2, we split the plate of beef goulash with 1 dumpling added, and it was definitely enough for two people. The sauce was delicious, the dumplings full of flavor, and the meat was so tender that it fell apart with just a fork. The meal came with a salad plate of pickled veggies: cucumbers, sauerkraut, beets, etc. I wanted to try dessert too, but I was too full. I would highly recommend checking this place out, the only thing is that it is cash only, but so is most of Berlin, so make sure you bring cash!

I had the worst costumer experience in Berlin, which is not a great place for costumer experience so that speaks really loud. We arrived at the restaurant at 21:30, I live 200m away from this amazing place for 1.5 years now, I have always received somewhat reasonable costumer service (berlin standard which is super low to begin with) but I was happy to return again and again. But this time - we had this super rude moustached I think (english) guy, who was rude beyond words, it felt he was annoyed by just being approached, its like we annoyed him by saying hi. Such a nasty worker, if I was a business owner(and I am), I would definitely not want someone like that to represent me or my business.

We went to eat there on the recommendation of RBB. Had booked a table beforehand. The food was very tasty .

Fuldastraße just before the canal is pleasantly quiet. Even if the cyclists confuse the sidewalk with the street and we were very surprised at this form of disrespect from the cyclists. Mr. Wegener and Ms. Dr. Slowik - wouldn't this be an opportunity to eat well and watch the bicycle traffic on the sidewalk? And with that I have already anticipated my conclusion: the food was delicious and the portions were large enough. Vegetarians also get their money's worth. The service was attentive and very accommodating, a role model. The ambience is simple and pleasant. The toilets are clean. My conclusion: Anyone looking for a new taste experience is in good hands at the Knödelwirtschaft SÜD. If you want to get to know a role model for all service staff in Berlin, you can also go to the Knödelwirtschaft SÜD. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The food was pretty tasty, but the location was pretty shabby! The service was attentive.

Very nice, both the location and the dishes. We had the dumpling with dandelion, cheese, red cabbage and bacon. The one with red cabbage tasted best. Price-performance is ok, in addition to the two dumplings there are beetroot, coleslaw, gutkensalat and salad. The portion is filling. The staff was nice, but as is usually the case in Berlin, not particularly service-oriented.

Simply excellent. Our favourites were the cheese and bacon knödel. The others were also quite tasty! The goulash was pretty solid as well. The atmosphere is top. Great experience.

The dumplings are very tasty. The selection is interesting and each guest can choose the number of dumplings themselves. Dessert is also recommended. Unfortunately it is a bit dark in the restaurant. The service is good. Drinking water is of course served to guests.

Nice little cult restaurant. Tightly spaced tables in two rooms that look a bit demolished, but which fit well with the Berlin scene restaurant style. Still very comfortable. The service was very friendly and quick. It's difficult to accommodate allergies with the small menu, so it's better to find out in advance whether you can eat dumplings. Quaint little restaurant. There are 7 different dumplings to choose from, served either with butter and salad or mushroom sauce or goulash or boiled beef. The dessert was a poem 😋 The staff is young, very accommodating, flexible and cool 😀

My meal, the beef goulash with spinach and cheese dumplings, very tasty, 5 stars! Points deducted for the bland liver dumpling soup and the somewhat lifeless salad. Friendly service. Ambience a bit very rustic, chair at the table too low, not very comfortable in the long run.

I never really liked breadballs until I tried the food here and it changed my mind. They had 4 flavors, I loved the cheese and pepper. I had the goulash and it came with 2 breadballs, I added one extra and it was enough for me (big eater). Goulash itself was very good as well and portion of the meat is rather big. They bring water as soon as you sit down and that is very nice.

Loads of salad in plate accompanied by smaller looking main course. But with the ingredients and filling, it is very much enough to get rid of your hunger for a while. Taste wise it was good, service was rather quick and easy on eyes. Atmosphere was as expected in German restaurant. Overall I would give 4.3 only because it was bit cold when not crowded.

Unfortunately, in our opinion, we can only give the restaurant 1 star. Judging purely based on the food, we would have rated it a little higher. However, the very unfriendly employees in service (1 man and 1 woman) were either on their cell phones or chatting with each other or talking about the guests. Since we were sitting at the counter, we also experienced rude, downright rude behavior towards other guests. Unfortunately, that ruined the whole evening, so we can't recommend the restaurant. It's a shame, a nice concept but obviously used by the wrong staff.

This is not my first time at Knödelwirtschaft, nor is it my last. Coming here is like giving myself a warm, creamy, mushroom sauce hug when I feel like treating myself a little bit. This place is not "posh" in any way, but it sure is comforting, like a blanket inside my tummy. I'm not sure if that makes any sense to anyone else, but I promise it is a wonderful feeling. I ordered a cheese knödel, a kale knödel and a mushroom knödel as well as the creamy mushroom sauce. All of the food was delicious, but it's nothing for anyone who prefers a light meal. It is very heavy. The pickled cucumbers and the sauer kraut helps with its acidity for balance, but still I need to clear the rest of the night to make sure I get some time to process the meal. Always worth it though. I also had the dessert knödel with apple compote, whipped cream and roasted nuts which was pretty interesting. Looking forward to the next time I'm feeling a bit down or win on the ponies and decide to treat myself to a knödel!

One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin. Great food and lovely people. If you're a full vegan, they have a special vegan Knödel, you can ask for it. But be aware, they are always full. So either be super early or even better reserve a table in advance!

Einfaches Restaurant mit herzhaftem Essen. Als Vegetarier muss man Lust auf Knödel haben, aber dann ist es perfekt. Verschiedene vegetarische und eine vegane Variante.

We konden meteen gaan zitten en werden snel geholpen. Ook gaf de ober advies wat gewaardeerd eerst. Mijn keuze was twee dumplings (kruiden met brood & bacon met aardappel) met champignon saus. Het werd geserveerd met een frisse salade. Het eten beviel dus erg goed!

Nachdem wir länger avor der Tür standen und von keinem Personal begrüßt oder angesprochen wurden, haben wir versucht ein Tisch selber zu finden, erst dann wurde uns beim vorbei laufen gesagt dass es kein Tisch draußen gibt ohne weitere zu fragen... Danach sind wir rein gegangen und wollten drin sitzen, die andere Kollegin hat uns gefragt ob sie uns helfen kann und ich habe erzählt dass wir noch kein Tisch angeboten wurde und dass wir hätten auch drin sitzen können, dann kam die Kollegin die draußen an uns vorbei lief und meinte mit einem aggressiven Ton dass ich gelogen habe!! Natürlich habe ich Verständnis wenn es viel los ist, aber wir wollten niemanden überfordern und waren nur zu zweit und wären flexibel zu warten oder drin zu sitzen... Danach haben wir gesagt dass es anscheinend viel los ist und wir dann ein anderes Mal kommen würden... Wir haben kein Entschuldigung bekommen, im Gegensatz, als wir raus liefen hat die Frau angefangen Laute Kommentare über uns zu machen... Am Ende finde ich dass es nicht die Schuld der Bedienung ist, wenn es fast volles Haus ist und nur wenige Hände gibt, soll die Management sich zusätzliche Unterstützung überlegen.... Wir werden unser Glück an einem anderen Tag nochmal probieren...

Ich war vor kurzem mit 2 Personen hier und war begeistert. Habe den Tafelspitz mit einem Käse- und einem Sauerampferknödel bestellt. Es war wahnsinnig lecker, das Fleisch zart, die Sauce genau richtig, der Käseknödel einfach hervorragend... Und dann noch der Topfenknödel zum Nachtisch... Soooo gut! Der Wein, den wir dazu bestellt haben, war auch sehr gut. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder! Große Empfehlung!

Ich komme immer wieder gerne her, der Service ist sehr freundlich und das Essen einfach lecker. Es gibt auch die Möglichkeit, einen veganen Knödelteller zu bestellen, sodass jeder auf seine Kosten kommt.

Wir fanden den Laden sehr toll. Leider wurden die Preise (für unseren Geschmack) ein wenig zu stark angehoben. Jetzt: Das Knödel Duo für 16€ und weitere Knödel für jeweils 3€. Bei leicht größerem Hunger somit 19€, ohne Getränk. Lecker ist es dennoch.

Eigentlich immer voll, am besten Tisch reservieren! Tolle Auswahl an Knödeln, die man sich zusammen stellen kann. Sehr lecker und viele vegetarische Knödel. Toller, freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Ambiente ist eher schlicht. Für die Kleinen gibt's einen Kinderstuhl, Hunde dürfen mit rein uns unterm Tisch liegen.
