Cozy restaurant. I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday at short notice. We got a table right away. The staff was friendly, polite, and very attentive. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. I highly recommend it. I'd gladly come again.

My family and I took a short break in Bad Sooden Allendorf from Thursday to Sunday, and we ate at the Klosterschänke all three evenings. On the very first day, we were impressed by the ambiance, the service, and the excellent food. Even though the Klosterschänke was really packed and very busy, they managed to get us a table for six every day. I'm already missing the delicious wine and the good food. A huge selection of home-style dishes. There's something for every taste. We left the restaurant in a good mood every evening and would gladly come back. Thanks again to the whole team ;)

A cozy tavern serving authentic German cuisine. The portions are absolutely generous, and the food is solid—exactly what you'd expect from a home-style tavern. Particularly positive: The herb butter was very aromatic, and the meat was cooked to perfection. The side dishes (fries, salad, chanterelle mushrooms) were also fresh and well-seasoned. The soup as an appetizer was creamy and served with fresh bread—simple but delicious. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was rustic and in keeping with the region. In conclusion: If you're looking for hearty German cuisine in a down-to-earth atmosphere, this is the place for you. Not fine dining—but honest, good food. A little highlight for a day trip or a cozy dinner.

The staff was friendly, the food was decent, and the prices weren't overpriced. The schnitzels were good, but at 1 cm, they were way too thick for me! I prefer them a bit thinner. But that's a matter of taste, of course, and not a criticism. The pasta was delicious, and the portions were just right. Highly recommended.

We went there for lunch. The food was average in taste and portion size. The service was average. It's a typical tourist place: order, eat, and never come back.

The food is good, the menu is varied, the service is attentive and friendly, the ambiance is pleasant, and the location is great. I'd be happy to go back.

We sat outside in beautiful summer weather, with prompt, friendly service, quick ordering, and prompt drinks. The freshly prepared dishes took a while to arrive, but they were truly delicious: Venison goulash with red cabbage and boiled potatoes, chanterelle mushrooms in a cream sauce on tagliatelle pasta.

Since the ice cream is no longer served in large waffle cones, I can't recommend it anymore. It's just to save on staff so they don't have to wash them anymore. The waffles all end up in the trash. The fruit cup was the only ice cream served in a glass container. You had to hunt for fruit in it. Instead, it felt like half a liter of orange juice. From the best ice cream parlor, never again. The service was friendly, but communication issues led to mistakes. I sent food back twice, and on the third attempt, I went on strike. They were allowed to keep it.👎👎

The pub is well-frequented and cozy. There's a playground right in front, and next door is an ice cream parlor, an Italian restaurant, and a café.

Thank you for everything...great food...the team is really great...especially in this historic place, offering such good German dishes...it's a shame that we Germans can't do something like that anymore...so the highest praise goes to these owners and makers...thank you...hats off.

We had lunch there today, and it was absolutely wonderful. We sat outside under lovely umbrellas, and the staff were quick to serve us tables and very friendly. They served lovely lunch dishes, absolutely delicious, and very reasonably priced! Thank you so much, we'll be back.

The food was good, but I would have liked a condolence note for my savoy cabbage roll, or at least a more direct reminder that you have to order a separate side dish. The service was very friendly and the setting was lovely. Since we sat outside, I can't comment on the ambiance inside; everything outside was perfect.

The Klosterschänke in Bad Sooden-Allendorf is a real insider tip for coffee lovers and fans of sweet treats. We enjoyed a wonderfully aromatic coffee there, which impressed us in both quality and taste. We also ordered a waffle with ice cream, cream and cherries, which was simply delicious. The waffle was freshly baked, crispy and yet airy - perfect in combination with the creamy ice cream and sweet cream. The cherries added a fruity accent that perfectly rounded off the taste experience. The cozy ambience of the monastery tavern, coupled with attentive and friendly service, invites you to linger longer and enjoy the atmosphere. Overall, a great place to take a little break and enjoy excellent food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!

I've been here many times and the quality of the food is consistently above average. I would also give the service six stars if I could, because a solution is offered for every situation and everyone is always super friendly. It is comfortable both inside and outside. We really enjoy coming here.

Was there for the first time and probably the last time to eat. Had schnitzel, sauce and fries. Fryer schnitzel, sauce “slapped on it” and fries included. Really carelessly put together. Not a bit of decoration like tomatoes, lettuce, etc. included. The eye couldn't eat too. It was finished in no time and on the table. Put it in the fat and you're done. For me, a better chip shop with service. Just more expensive. Tasty is different.

We wanted to eat cheaply, which is good here. But unfortunately this is at the expense of taste! The Königsberger meatballs and the filling of the savoy cabbage roulade don't taste good at all! The sauce for the savoy cabbage roulade came from the bag.....I think. But the toilet was clean and modern!

The food comes pretty quickly for what is on the menu, it can take some time as they cook with love. The schnitzel with jam-braised onions was quite tasty, but the red cabbage and the dumplings with the beef roulade were only warmed up. The chairs were much too high for the table and it was quite uncomfortable to sit on

The service is very friendly. We ordered schnitzel. Unfortunately there was only a better industrial schnitzel. I would happily pay a little more for better quality. The price-performance ratio is okay. Other foods looked much more appetizing. All in all, highly recommended!!!👍

This afternoon we went to the monastery tavern for coffee and waffles. One of our group also ordered a waffle, but only with cherries, no cream or ice cream. The waitress pointed out that the price remained the same, which I really didn't understand. Here one could easily have done something to accommodate the guest. But of course, either the guest accepts or leaves. Given the influx, I can understand why the restaurant doesn't care. One guest more or less doesn't matter here. The main thing is that the ruble rolls. As a matter of principle, I will not visit this restaurant again nor recommend it.

There is still home-style food here. Beef roulade and boiled beef as an example. Good price-performance ratio

Quite okay to linger. But the quality of the ingredients is poor. Salad, chopped from the bag, the schnitzel not fresh. The sauce was the best. But the service was quick and attentive. I cannot recommend it for eating food. Too bad.

We were in Bad Soden for a few days and had the holiday apartment in the Klosterschänke. Super clean, extremely comfortable beds and everything a holiday apartment needs. The food was great, the service was quick and friendly. Price performance is completely okay for the quality. We recovered well. Thanks for that.

You can sit very nicely outside. It's very dark inside. Asparagus dish with schnitzel was not good, asparagus was poorly peeled and hollandaise sauce had to be found. The plate for the child was very carelessly prepared. Looking at it spoiled the meal. The staff very friendly and accommodating.

19 years ago this place was great. Nothing has changed in the dining room. Modern toilets have been added. Sure, the son has now taken over the reins, but the quality of the food hasn't changed. It still tastes delicious.

Good home cooking at fair prices

We went to the monastery tavern for dinner. The service didn't take long, was very friendly, the food was prepared quickly and tasted very tasty. We sat at the window and had a nice view outside. I found it very cozy and comfortable. I would happily recommend the restaurant.

The food was really great. The salad with the dressing started with the yeast dumplings, surf and turf and for me the grill plate. Plus the pleasant atmosphere. I would have liked to add photos of the food, but accidentally deleted them.

We were guests on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately it took a while until we were served, the food (hunter-style schnitzel) was absolutely delicious, just not enough. Even after eating it took about 20 minutes until our empty plates were cleared away. After another 15 minutes I pointed out to an employee that we would now like to pay. I would have liked to eat another wine pouch with cherries to fill me up, but it was too long for me to bridge the time without drinks. At the next table there was a group who lit a cigarette one after the other. H. We, especially the children, sat in the smoke all the time, which was very disturbing. If everyone had smoked together, this would have been over in 10 minutes, but one cigarette went out and the next one went on. I know we sat outside and you have to expect something like that, but perhaps the area could be divided again. We are in this health resort because of our skin and air problems and as a mom I found it a real shame that no consideration was given when small children were sitting next to us.

The employees are polite and courteous. The actually positive overall impression was significantly tarnished because it was not possible to get the bacon beans from the daily menu instead of the mixed vegetables on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Why so inflexible?

Sehr aufmerksamer, freundlicher Service. Das Essen ist preislich angemessen und sehr lecker. Wir hatten Schnitzel Wiener Art und Schweinebraten in Braunbiersauce mit Rotkohl und Knödeln, vorweg einen kl. Beilagensalat mit fein abgestimmtem Essig/Öl-Dressing. Wirklich empfehlenswert ❤️

Ein gutes Speiselokal mit gutem, deutschen Essen. Wir haben uns heute Königsberger Klopse mit Kartoffeln und Soße für 12€ und Schnitzel Walliser Art mit Kroketten für 15.50 € gekauft. Dazu noch zwei 0.3 Liter Bier für jeweils 3 €. Haben also knapp über 33 € ausgegeben. Was mir sehr gefallen hat sind die Decken, die auf den Stühlen draußen liegen. An kalten Tagen kann man sich zudecken, während man sein Essen genießt. Es hat lange gedauert, bis wir unser Essen serviert bekommen haben, weshalb ich auch nur 4 Sterne gebe. Auf den ersten Blick erschien mit die Portion mit den Klopsen sehr klein. Aber später stellte sich heraus, dass sie voll ausreichte und ich satt davonging. Die Klopse und die Kartoffeln waren gut zubereitet und haben uns geschmeckt. Ebenso war das Schnitzel saftig und lecker und die Kroketten waren auch hochwertig und lecker. Das Bier war kühl und frisch serviert worden. Mir persönlich hat das Lokal sehr gefallen. Ich würde es wieder besuchen und es anderen weiterempfehlen.

Den Sauerbraten sollte man unbedingt probieren. Auch die Getränke, der Kuchen sind lecker. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Danke für den wunderschönen Aufenthalt.

Auf das Jägerchnitzel mit Pommes gebe ich eine 5 Schnitzel (Schulnoten ) kein Geschmack (TK) und dann noch in der Fritteuse Soße kein Geschmack Pommes zu Hell Salat ist extra zu bezahlen der kein Dressig hatte

Das Essen war nur lauwarm, als ich es serviert bekam. Keine schmackhafte Soße zum Filet, diese schmeckte wie eine Fertigsoße. Der Salat wurde extra berechnet. Der Preis für 3 Filetstücke und Spätzle war zu hoch.
