Kinoklause in Lübben (Spreewald)

We spontaneously stopped at the Kinoklause for dinner. A friendly welcome and good food at a fair price. Our Labrador even got a bowl of water. Pet friendly!

Delicious food. Quickly prepared and delicious. Service is pleasant and friendly. Prices are reasonable. The second visit didn't go as expected. 20 minutes wait for the menu. 15 minutes for the order to be taken. Then came the cheeky reminder that this table is normally reserved... Then we left thirsty and hungry. Friendliness just doesn't come naturally to everyone. What a shame

The food was really nice but the service was very weird. Waiting to be seated, the waiter ignored us not once but twice, and would have gone for the third time if we hadn’t intercepted her. Later we saw other customers be greeted like normal and promptly seated. They got their beers fast too but not us, and ignored me when I asked (shouted, in fact) to pay. It’s hard not to suspect it was because we’re (albeit German-speaking) tourists 🤷‍♂️

The entire team was very attentive, and since the food is freshly cooked, the meal could be customized. The result was "extremely delicious" – fresh fried mushrooms with chicken breast fillet.

A huge compliment to the chef and service staff. I've rarely eaten such a fantastic schnitzel with braised pickle, and the fried potatoes were absolutely perfect. We went to the cinema once, the staff were annoyed and didn't listen to what we ordered, we wanted popcorn once and nachos once with different sauces, it wasn't busy as it was just after 5 p.m. We got the same sauce twice, then the popcorn, which wasn't homemade as claimed, the popcorn I had was very bitter and inedible, at first I thought there were only 2 or 3 pieces but sadly there weren't any. My wife tried it too and couldn't eat it, then I tried to complain but she just got angry and upset that I said something, the boss or whoever it was then tried them and was just as annoyed that I said something, he said they tasted normal, unfortunately this wasn't the case. I wouldn't have said anything if there had only been 2 or 3 pieces but it was still too much. It's a shame the staff can't handle criticism, and it would have been nice if they'd been a bit friendlier. Their attitudes weren't something you'd expect in other professions. (We've been there before, and it wasn't busy then either, but the friendliness left a lot to be desired. Incidentally, the popcorn was tasty then, and it was different than this time, too.) This popcorn reminds you of those buckets you get at the supermarket.

My friend and I treated my father and his wife to a Whitsun weekend for their birthday. The friendly service made us feel immediately welcome and we were delighted. Questions were answered promptly and with charm. The food was of very good quality and the portions were very generous. We were all delighted and went back for dinner the next day. The waitress even played along with a joke and helped ensure my father didn't notice. The surprise was a success and resulted in a shared laugh. We'd love to go back!

We visited the Kino Klause in Lübben three days ago. We chose the restaurant more or less at random, as we just wanted a bite to eat. We had already visited the Italian restaurant nearby last year, but the food there was not tasty at all. So we thought we might like some good, home-style cooking. The service was a bit witty and a bit friendly, and had exactly our sense of humor. We had the following dishes: a Steak of Four, a schnitzel with letcho and fried potatoes, a portion of braised cucumbers with horseradish and dill sauce, and a seasoned meat dish. We all enjoyed the food down to the last bite. The chef is extremely knowledgeable, and it tasted just like we're used to when we prepare it at home. The ingredients were all fresh; the letcho wasn't from a jar; it was homemade. The fried potatoes were also amazing. The meat in my Steak of Four was super tender, not tough and overcooked like in some other restaurants. If we ever find ourselves back in Lübben, we will definitely visit this restaurant again. The prices are also very reasonable. Dogs are also welcome, both inside and outside. We would like to thank Suse, Andrea, and Sandra, plus our dog, Aiko, and Bela, for the excellent food and the friendly service.

All good on the outside, all bad on the inside, and of course no card payments, so the tax return isn't so difficult anymore.

My review may be very subjective. I've known the Kino Café since my earliest childhood, and my children have known it forever, too. Across all generations, there was and still is a superb farmer's breakfast. Overall, the food is really good, honest, home-style cooking. The service has always been prim and totally friendly—just like we people here. Some people might not understand that. If you're in Lübben and want good, hearty food, along with a proper Potsdamer, this is the place for you.

As a foreigner you stand out a bit here, this is where the locals meet. The portions are designed for hearty home cooking, large, tasty and affordable. This is how you like to go out to eat. My only problem: As a vegetarian, you won't find anything on the menu at first. But it wasn't a problem, with the friendly service we were able to put something together for me. A photo of it is attached. For those who are seriously bothered by the chalk sign in the entrance area: Of course the waitress should be nice to their guests, but it is just as obvious that it should be the other way around. "As it resounds into the forest, so it resounds out." We enjoyed being here and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Hello. We went there to dine on the first Advent of 2024. Half the duck tasted wonderful. My companion each had a schnitzel with side dishes. Large portion and very good too. I can only recommend it. Price/performance is ok these days.

What the food is like, I have no idea, we didn't get that far. It was more important for the innkeeper to do something than to greet us. After a guest told us we could sit down, the host made an incomprehensible hand gesture, no idea what he wanted. They could have spoken to us. It seems that someone doesn't want to make any money.

The Kinoklause is beautifully located on the edge of the town center. The service is relaxed - but in a friendly way. The cooking there is certainly not of the highest standard, but who misses that? Here you will find rustic, tasty food with a regional twist. The portions are for the generous hunger, you'll really feel full! All in all, a decent, good price-performance ratio! PS: The house beer goes great with the food!
