KINK Bar & Restaurant in Berlin

We had a lovely time, the attentive service, the food was good, especially the tartar and squid were great. The tortilla, however, was no match for the ceviche. The table was so-so, but we weren't quite ready when the time slot was up. While we were allowed to move to the lovely bar, I would have preferred to finish the wine at the table. The wine selection is quite extensive, and your wallet should be there, as you can't get anything less than fifty bucks. We were then left to deal with the payment machine ourselves. Splitting us up into three couples was apparently too much for the service. There's a nice article about it in a Berlin newspaper right now, so look for some people to chat with. Overall, though, it's doable.

The restaurant is in a beautiful, well-maintained venue with a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit mixed. We were initially seated right next to the kitchen, which was noisy and warm, but the waitress was very kind and quickly moved us to a more comfortable spot. The staff were friendly throughout, but service was quite slow. It took a long time to place our order, several items on the already-limited menu were unavailable, and the timing of the dishes and drinks was very spread out. Despite being there for over two hours, we only received a few small dishes, and our dessert never arrived. On the positive side, the food itself was excellent, and the staff were always polite and accommodating. With better organization and more attentive service, this could be a really fantastic spot.

We visited the restaurant yesterday (Saturday evening) after having been there a few times before and generally always having a good experience. That's exactly why we've recommended it to friends and decided to come back for a special occasion. Unfortunately, this time the experience was very disappointing: The service was extremely poor – we weren't served for a long time and had to repeat orders several times. In some cases, drinks weren't even booked, so we had to ask why they weren't coming. In some cases, we waited over two hours for our dishes. At one point, we weren't even asked if everything was okay. We had to actively ask the waiters to clear tables and, in some cases, even move bottles and glasses to the side ourselves because there was no more room. At the end, we were presented with the bill with a 20% gratuity already included – without any indication and in the obvious hope that we would simply pay it. We found this very brazen and lacking in transparency.

Unfortunately, the food was anything but enjoyable. There's no other way to describe it here, otherwise "dear" Daniel will come along, complain to Google, and make sure his reviews stay "good." That's what happens when you're incapable of taking criticism.

It was our first time at KINK and we're already looking forward to the next time. Everything we tried tasted way better than expected. Their special Negroni is a MUST TRY! It was my birthday and I certainly think it was celebrated in style. Kudos to the team.

The service in the restaurant was poorly communicated, and only in English. We had the set menu. It was absolutely overpriced for what was offered, and the quantity was insufficient. The quality of the food was okay, but uninspired. The service itself was more poor than good. The subsequent visit to the bar, however, was excellent. Conclusion: Restaurant 2 stars, bar 5 stars

We were here for breakfast, and the ambiance is simply beautiful, and the breakfast was super creative and incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, my cold brew was forgotten, but otherwise, it was super stylish and delicious.

A lovely evening under old trees with solid cuisine based on a sharing concept. Good and fair wine list. The pork belly needed a few more hours of cooling. It was very firm. Otherwise, the food was very good, and the service was friendly, attentive, and with a Berlin accent. 😉

Had brunch at Kink Bar and it was such a good experience! The food was absolutely delicious – every dish felt super fresh and flavorful. The portions were just right, and you can really tell they put care into the menu. The vibe is relaxed but still stylish, which makes it a great spot whether you’re going with friends or just want to enjoy a slower morning. Service was friendly and everything came out quickly, which I really appreciated.

Located in a stimulating and inspiring place, charming terrace, tasty food and relaxed atmosphere. A fresh new surprise in such a magical city.

I went to Kink for brunch with friends, and we were really looking forward to it after reading so many good reviews. The location is truly beautiful—modern, open, and with a great ambiance that immediately puts us in the mood for a relaxed brunch. The frozen cocktails also pleasantly surprised us: very tasty and refreshing. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to these expectations. We had to wait over an hour for our breakfast, which was hard to understand given the restaurant's limited capacity. The eggs Benedict were disappointing: served on plain, not even toasted bread, with a thick hollandaise sauce that was neither convincing in taste nor consistency. The French toast was also not up to scratch—very creamy, and the peaches seemed like they came from a can. It's a shame, because the location and the menu promise much more. Overall, it was a disappointing brunch experience for us. However, with better-balanced dishes and shorter wait times, Kink could definitely reach the level expected from such an appealing restaurant.

A beautiful, hidden little oasis of well-being in the heart of Berlin with top-notch service and delicious food. You immediately feel at home. We'll definitely be back.

Was there with two friends for a cute small birthday affair. The portions were really small... the waiter suggested we order several plates, so the three of us did that, but even after a round of dishes we were all still hungry and ended up ordering more just to feel like we’d actually eaten. It was meant to be a fun birthday outing with friends, but instead we left disappointed. While some of the dishes sounded creative, the flavours didn’t quite live up to the hype, and the balance just wasn’t there. For the price and reputation, we expected much better. Overall, the food was average at best and the portion sizes made it poor value for money. Berlin has so many fantastic restaurants that offer generous, well-prepared dishes — I’d recommend going elsewhere instead.

It's a nice and cozy restaurant with comfortable seating, which I must mention, as comfortable chairs are in short supply, regardless of the restaurant's exclusivity. The service was charming and prompt. The food was quite tasty, BUT it has to lose a star for the mercilessly overcooked pasta... it tasted good, but the softness of the pasta was school cafeteria-level, and that simply shouldn't be allowed! The cocktails, however, are 10/10 again! We would come back for cocktails and oysters... other restaurants in Berlin simply do the rest better!

Very nice building, however I was rather disappointed by the food in the restaurant. Maybe my expectations were just too high - as I had marked the venue some months back, not remembering from whom I got the recommendation, and when reading about it on the Michelin page sort of confirmed to me that I want to eat here. The octopus had a nice texture, but unfortunately it tasted very burnt. Neither the chimchurri nor the dill could compete at all against that bitter burnt taste. The next one is probably on me: I picked the ceviche despite the information that they serve it only with salmon today. The taste was very flat and once more the fried taste of the chips was way stronger than the taste of the main part (=the ceviche). The wild broccoli was just okay.The alcohol-free cocktail was great! One more thing: an open window to the kitchen is maybe not always the best thing. As a guest you don‘t want to see that one person in the kitchen says to the other „iiih, was ist das?“ when looking at the food in the pan if you know that someone is waiting for exactly that dish. (Not clear to me why to have that direct open view into the kitchen if not putting up a show in there - which I would never expect to happen on a calm Sunday evening.)

The location is truly beautiful, but I was truly disappointed with the brunch. The eggs Benedict were cold, the toasties were burnt on one side, and looked like the average supermarket ones. The fennel salad had a delicious dressing, but at €14, it was absolutely overpriced—it was maybe 2-3 tablespoons of lettuce with canned mandarin oranges (?). The chilaquiles were simply dry nachos with two eggs and some garnish, but had little resemblance to the classic dish. We didn't eat the bagel, but saw it at the next table and immediately decided against it because it looked rather dry and unloved. The price and quality of the food were completely out of proportion, and to be honest, we were really annoyed that we hadn't gone to another place. On the plus side, the fennel salad was taken off our bill. Finally, the most disappointing thing: the service. Everyone was friendly, but completely distracted, even though less than half the tables were occupied and all the waiters had plenty of time to stand around and play on their phones. We had to wait a long time before we could even order, and even then, only after asking. In roughly an hour, no one approached us (or any of the other tables) and asked if we wanted to order anything else, even though all the drinks were empty. That's just not possible at this price point, and we definitely would have ordered more. It's a real shame, because I find the food delicious in the evening, but there are too many good alternatives for brunch in Berlin for me to go back to Kink.

I had the most perfect birthday celebration. Perfect support in the organization, super friendly staff and service, beautiful location and delicious food. I can highly recommend Kink if you are looking for a location for a special and unforgettable celebration!

I was excited to go check out the new more affordable concept, but was heavily disappointed… It still feels like a cash grab.. the eggs benedict are super basic nothing special and still 16 euros! Then the fennel salad had no taste, was not fresh, unseasoned and had no fresh orange but instead canned mandarines. Still asking 13 euros for this!! Ingredient price cannot justify these prices. Service was nowhere to be seen, very hard to order the food in the first place, no system, and really lack of enthusiasm/friendliness… now im sure i’ll never come back. What a waste of such a beautiful location :(

Very average Brunch spot imo. Cold and old dry bagels, same for the Muffin that comes with eggs benedict. Go spend your money somewhere else, Annelies at Görlitzer Park for example!

Me and my friend went to this bar hoping to get a drink and we were so disappointed. We found the place on instagram and it might be cool and insta worthy - but the service is nonexistent. We waited 40 minutes for two “special negronis”, that tasted like every other. Go get a picture and leave (if you can find it). We won’t recommend.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a pleasant evening with you. The service was inattentive and seemed completely overwhelmed. Every order took a long time, or sometimes didn't arrive at all. We were happy when we managed to order the bill. Then it took another half hour to pay. I find that unacceptable. I shared this feedback with the waiter, who then gave us a discount on two drinks. At least that was a somewhat conciliatory ending... After this experience, I would definitely not recommend Kink.

Came without a table reservation, so tables without food, only drinks, were available. We waited a long time for the waiter to make an order. But the order (wine, olives, bread basket, French fries) was brought quickly. Perhaps if you book and have a full dinner, you will have a better experience. For now, the place is for one time.

Hidden in the heart of Berlin, yet you feel like you're in another world: The restaurant boasts a dreamy location under trees and twinkling fairy lights. Sitting outside, in particular, is wonderfully shielded from the hustle and bustle of the city—a true little refuge. The interior is also stylish and perfectly rounds off the first impression. The culinary offerings also have much to praise: The fennel salad transported me straight to Sicily, fresh, aromatic, and simply outstanding. The steak tartare was also of the highest quality and impressive. Unfortunately, the service significantly dampened the overall impression. Our order was taken very late, so we had to wait an unusually long time for the food. In the end, this left us with hardly any time to enjoy our meal, and we were asked to vacate the table—with the explanation that dessert could be eaten inside. Precisely because the delay wasn't our fault, it left a bitter aftertaste. The service seemed stressed overall and was not adequate for the price range.

Actually a nice shop, and the decor is really nice. The weekend breakfast with filter coffee wasn't great. We'd rather come back for dinner.

Great place to eat if you're visiting Berlin. The portions are delicious, and it feels like you're in a courtyard/rooftop bar. It's so busy, though, that you need to make a reservation well in advance, and they politely ask if they can bring you the bill within the time slot. The octopus is an absolute must-try. Delicious!

The place is very beautiful, but the food in relation to price and quality, in my opinion, is not worth it, but the place is very beautiful.

We went there with high expectations, given the many very positive reviews. Unfortunately, we had to wait more than half an hour just for regular drinks. The service overall not very attentive. The food was just okay. The portions were small – the price-to-value ratio was not as expected. We had two plates each. In the end, it’s nothing more than overrated (and overpriced) highly sophisticated tapas. We had clearly mentioned in advance that this was a birthday dinner and had agreed on a dessert celebration. Nothing was provided. Luckily, we decided to have dessert somewhere else. On the positive, the garden is nice. Would never go there again – you simply don’t get what you pay for.

I've been here twice in the last 3 months and I had completely different experiences. First time, we were sitting inside. Service was excellent, fast, and food was amazing. We were super happy and we decided to come back here again. Unfortunately second time didn't reach the expectations of the first one. First, even with a reservation we had to wait half an hour to get our table ready. Than another 30 minutes waiting for someone to get some order. The place outside is huge, completely full, service was super slow because they were clearly understaffed. We had to wait a very long time to get something to eat and we had to ask several times to get our food. At the end food was good, expect for the entrecote that came out cold. This is not acceptable, considering the price and the standard of the restaurant. The people working there are kind, they tried to do their best in a very busy night, but if you charge that prices for a dinner, customers expect a way better service. It's a pity, because the place is great and the food as well.

We went to Kink yesterday for the first time, but definitely not the last. The atmosphere was wonderful, both inside and out! EVERYTHING was delicious, and the staff were absolutely lovely.

The ambiance is superb; we sat outside under the trees. Unfortunately, the rest didn't convince me. It seemed deliberately fancy, strategically calculated, and lacking in heart—neither in the plate nor in the service. If you wanted more drinks, you had to either go up or wait forever, using the usual eye contact and wave. Overpriced food and copy-paste culinary style: garlic, oil, and lemon on everything, as if they were the only ingredients in the house. The entrecôte broke my heart; the €27 plate came with a very small amount of pre-cut strips of meat, drenched in the same oil mixture as all the other plates, and it was cold. We received compensation, but anyone with a little sense of food and eating will understand what I mean.

Liked the food and atmospehere. After we were unsure whether we want to have more drinks they could not wait and brought the bill unasked in a silent demand for us to leave. This was despite the fact that half the restaurant was empty.

Been there couple times and all good, however, last time was disappointing the slow of the service, the food never came, almost 1 hour waiting for drinks and they didn't even registered the table. I had to walk inside afterwards to pay the bill and mention everything we ordered. Drinks however still being ok. Dont know what happened but used to be a good place.

The atmosphere is stylish, relaxed, and welcoming at the same time.✨ Despite the bumpy start, it was an all-around successful visit for me – precisely because of this attitude towards guests. A true gem in Prenzlauer Berg. In summer, dine al fresco on the peaceful, cozy terrace with its delicate lights, but be sure to have a drink inside, admire the industrial interior with its light art, and enjoy a cocktail that's not so typical. It's not cheap and a bit posh, but it still has a Berlin vibe, though I'm seeing more and more tourists here.

Great location, pretty tasty and fresh tasting food (order plenty as portions are quite small). Wait staff really nice, only real downer was the hostess who clearly had better things in mind and to do than taking care of guests or being cordial. Maybe a Berlin thing, but awful. Overall great experience, especially the outdoor seating was wonderful.

A great concept with a great offering. We first went to the restaurant and then to the bar. Both spaces are beautifully designed. The food was of very high quality, creative, and beautifully presented. The drinks were very creative, a bit too overpowering for the food. Therefore, it's better to enjoy the bar. The staff was also friendly, but unfussy. Quite nice for a pleasant evening!

Was a bit hard to find but very large outside seating area. Quite good small plates. Def felt like the ambience and hospitality were perhaps the main selling points though - one of those trendy spots

So I’m in love. This one was on my list for a while and I finally went in for some oysters the other day and was blown away! Will be back to see the lounge and their DJ sets and have everything else on their select menu. Note: Card payment only.

Exclusive location on Pfefferberg with a large garden terrace under beautiful old trees. A small but fine selection of dishes, including many vegetarian options, was all very tasty. Unfortunately, the service was somewhat uncoordinated and, possibly due to the restaurant's busy schedule, inattentive. We had the combination meal for four, and the wait between the first and second portions was over 45 minutes. Good music from the DJ.

Yesterday, a group of nine of us ate at Kink—we were really looking forward to it, because the ambiance looks really nice. Unfortunately, it remained just a pretty facade; the rest was more like real-life satire. Our waiter seemed firmly convinced he was the rock star of the evening. My second "Excuse me?" (because he simply ignored us) was met with an annoyed "I already heard the first one." Nice. Later, when we asked for the bill on the way to the restroom, we were dismissed with "Yeah, I don't know where you're from." To top it all off, when we wanted to order another round of drinks, we were met with an annoyed "Not at my place!" Absolutely outrageous, and this gentleman should seriously consider whether a job with direct customer contact is right for him. The meal wasn't any better organized. Five people in our group didn't get their plates until 30-40 minutes after the rest of us had already finished eating, because Mr. Cool had apparently entered the wrong order number. When the lemon pasta finally arrived, it was anything but creamy – dry and lacking any trace of lemon. Our friend, who got his pasta on time, had a completely different experience. Parmesan? Didn't arrive until our friend was already finished. And it wasn't like the tables were full at that point. When paying, the waitress gave us the obligatory death stare – she was probably too puny for a tip. Honestly, €17 for pasta without fish or meat is pretty self-important; the food should also taste good and the service at least be good! As "compensation," we got a shot on the house. It was meant to be sweet, but that's not going to stop you from having a drink. Conclusion: If you only like beautiful interiors and loud music, you'll be happy here. If you expect good food and respectful service for your money, you'd better look elsewhere. We're out anyway.

Honestly, I was expecting so much more from this place based on the positive reviews and that it’s mentioned on the Michelin guide. The plates they are so extremely tiny, for reference the water glass they have was a similar size to the creme brulee dish and the pork belly. The server recommended 3-4 plates for 2 people, so my girlfriend and I started with 3 plates. We got the pork belly, the mushroom creme brulee, and the ravioli. Please do not get the pork belly, they give such a tiny piece, and more than half of the piece is fat. Having some fat on meat gives the fish flavor, but it is not nice to just eat an extremely thick piece of fat. The mushroom creme brulee was sounded really interesting, but it had a very mellow mushroom flavor and was sweet, it was a weird combination. The ravioli was ok, but the pasta dough itself was not great. After finishing those 3 courses, my girlfriend and I were still very hungry, so we ordered the bread, it was the best decision. I honestly don’t think you will get full here unless you order the bread. Overall, the portions are so tiny and the food is just average, I would save your money and go to another restaurant in Berlin. If you are looking for nice recommendations, night kitchen, jomo, and tsomi are all extremely incredible restaurants that give proper portions.

Unfortunately, we waited 2.5 hours for our food. It had a somewhat out-there Berlin vibe. The food was delicious. The service was absolutely terrible. I felt the staff lacked honesty and authenticity. It's a real shame because the location is great, and we had hoped for more for our friend!

KINK is highly recommended, especially when the weather is nice and the terrace is open. Everything is very relaxed, the food is good, and the service is very friendly. It's really cool that when there are visiting DJs, the music is played outside starting around 9:00 PM, but it's not too loud. So you can easily continue the conversation. The only criticism is that the restaurant is happy to share the food, but not the bill ;-)...i.e., they are unfortunately reluctant to respond to requests to split the bill, even if it's not excessive and you only want to pay extra for the cocktails, etc.

We were actually big fans of KINK – we'd been there several times and were really looking forward to the summer menu. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed this time – not with the food, but with the way we were treated as guests. We saw on the website that there were still reservation slots available, so we spontaneously dropped in without booking in advance. Once we got there, we were told they weren't accepting any new guests – no matter what. We asked again, because the online availability showed, but they said there were strict instructions from the manager not to let anyone in without a reservation. That was fine. So we made a reservation online right there and returned right on time for our booked time – only to be turned away again. The employee said he recognized us and therefore couldn't honor our reservation because we'd made it "afterward." To be honest, that felt strange – we had the impression that maybe it was a problem that we'd spontaneously dropped in beforehand. Fifteen minutes later, we received a phone call asking where we were – apparently, they knew we had a reservation after all. After we explained that we'd been turned away, they spontaneously explained that a table had just canceled and we could still come. This made the whole thing seem even more confusing and somehow inauthentic. The brief apology over the phone was polite, but unfortunately not entirely convincing. I didn't really want to write a review – we really like KINK and have always had good experiences. But the feeling after this incident just stuck with me, and I couldn't just let it go. It was simply an uncomfortable situation for us, and even though I understand that things like this can happen, it still bothered me a lot. Maybe I'll give the place another chance, but this experience definitely made me think.

I found it particularly interesting that the dishes were based on familiar combinations and flavors, but they interpreted them in their own, successful way. The drinks were also excellent. We'd love to come back!

We were there last night, a Friday, and had reserved a table for 8:30. Unfortunately, the table we were given was right next to the jukebox, so we could barely hear each other. So we asked the waiter if we could move to another table. His response, however, was that we would have to sort it out with the reception staff ourselves. When we asked if he could perhaps do it for us, he simply replied, "Please don't, do it yourself." After some time, he finally informed the reception staff, and we were kindly seated at a quieter table. Unfortunately, we waited there in vain for over an hour and a half for our food. Around 10:15, we finally decided to leave and get something to eat elsewhere. During the wait, we sat at our table for 45 minutes without drinks – no waiter or waitress felt responsible for us. When we informed the staff that we were leaving the restaurant and didn't want to wait any longer for our food, we were offered a "shot on the house" as compensation, which we declined. So, unfortunately, we can't comment on the food—it never arrived. We had two Pornstar Martinis to drink, which—apart from the glass—had absolutely nothing to do with the original drink. The drink was yellow, clear, and fizzy. No one from the staff informed us whether the drink was out of stock or no longer on the menu. So we assume it was simply very poorly and incorrectly prepared. There was also a very loud group sitting behind us, and at another table, someone suddenly stood up and performed a kind of "shadow boxing" in the middle of the restaurant 🙃🙃 Conclusion: The food didn't arrive, the drinks were bad, the atmosphere was unpleasant, and the service was abysmal :( The only positive point is the location, which is really beautiful.

The ambiance and atmosphere are truly lovely, but unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the service. There's clearly a communication problem between the waiters. Our order was initially brought to the wrong table (the one next to us), and we had to wait a long time. That wouldn't have been a problem in itself, but when we finally inquired, it turned out that our oysters had already been eaten by the neighboring table, and yet they wanted to serve us the very same ones from the other table again (!). We, of course, explained that we didn't accept food that had already been eaten. The waiter then apologized. Shortly afterward, a waiter wearing glasses approached us and asked if our order had arrived. We said no and explained that we had ordered oysters and olives. He said they would come immediately and would be on the house. When we paid, another waiter said that the oysters had been removed from the bill, but the olives hadn't. When we mentioned what the other waiter had said, he simply replied, "That's the system." We insisted that he please coordinate with his colleague. In a restaurant of this class, 4-5 euros for olives is obviously no big deal, but the failure to keep promises and the obvious communication problems in service are disappointing.

We went to KINK for a drink for the first time this evening and had a lovely seat in the garden. The cocktails were great and the service extremely attentive. Conclusion: Highly recommended; we will definitely and happily return.

Unfortunately, it's completely overrated. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. The waiter, although fluent in German, thought it was cool to only speak English to us, and after just half an hour we were informed that we had to vacate our table within an hour, even though we had been booked for two hours. We weren't even allowed to order a second round of drinks, as we might not have stayed within the two-hour window. All in all, a huge disappointment. And when we paid, we were told via the credit card terminal how much we should tip.

We were just here for a drink. A great place—and tonight we accepted your invitation and were thrilled again. Great food and very friendly people. Thank you very much, and we'll see you soon.

Highly recommended! The food and drinks were excellent. The waitresses were very busy, but well-trained, and we had a great time. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday we treated ourselves to brunch at Kink in the beautiful, green garden. We ordered chilaquiles, avocado toast, and yogurt and granola. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. And since we were celebrating a birthday, we also had a Kink Spritz. Breakfast was about €12-16 per person :)... well worth it... plus the lovely atmosphere. The service was very friendly and attentive... we'd go back anytime.
