For me, the best falafel plate in Hamburg and at a great price of 8 EUR!

A truly great falafel shop in the Schanze district! The falafel was super delicious and really juicy, and they also had a beetroot version – something different and very successful. The price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect; you get generous portions for a fair price. The only small downside: Unfortunately, they only accept cash payments, which is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, however, absolutely recommended – if you're in the Schanze district, you should definitely stop by!

The food was delicious, the falafel were truly amazing, fluffy, tender, melting in your mouth, but everything seemed a bit careless, the decor, the furnishings, and the preparation—but it's "just" a snack bar, after all. But falafel are amazing.

I ordered and got a great portion for a great price, something you don't get very often these days! I was able to eat two of it for €12.90. Amazing. But not only was it super fresh, it was incredibly tasty and full of different side dishes, simply fantastic!

Here, I had a chicken shawarma, which, at least for me, wasn't convincing. Unfortunately, they didn't even ask if I wanted all the ingredients. Unfortunately, the preparation went by my eye; it was done so quickly. So, beetroot and potatoes also ended up in my meal. Unfortunately, there was far too little meat. The hummus was okay, but overall, only half was really tasty for me... The price, which initially seemed cheap, doesn't make it worth it. I wouldn't repeat it.

The sauces are so strange it's brutal, in a dürüm no cinnamon belongs let alone cardamom, then it tastes like semolina porridge

The falafel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with crunchy vegetables and a super-tasty sauce. For only €5.50, it's a real highlight in the Schanze district. Note: Card payments only, but it's quick. Highly recommended – perfect for a quick but really good snack between meals!

The food at this falafel shop tastes really good – there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, I still can't recommend it to anyone. I've experienced several times that the owner suddenly started talking about me in Arabic and laughing. Each time, my other colleagues turned to look at me, which was very uncomfortable. As a trans person, I feel exposed and discriminated against. Today, it got particularly brazen: When I politely asked for some extra bread, they started speaking in Arabic again. When I paid, I immediately noticed that I had been overcharged by €5. After I pointed it out, he immediately gave me the €5 without any further calculation. Overall, you don't feel welcome or respectful here. I will avoid this shop in the future, no matter how good the food may be. Discrimination has no place – not even behind a delicious plate of falafel.

Best place in Hamburg, unbeatable value for money. The taste is top-notch. Prices haven't increased since 2018! Simply amazing. My personal recommendation: Shawarma Kimo for €6. It'll keep you full all day!

The food was really great and came very quickly. The only downside: communication was a bit difficult. We weren't familiar with the place and just wanted a quick bit of advice, so to speak, and they didn't understand.

The guys are extremely fast, so you never have to wait long, even if the line is very long. For €5.50, you can get a delicious Kimo falafel that will fill you up. Since there's always something going on, the ingredients are always fresh. They use a variety of sauces.

The food is delicious! The eggplant was cold; it would have been better hot, but since everything else was so delicious, it's definitely not a reason to deduct a star. The food comes very quickly, it's reasonably priced, and the staff are super friendly. There are also enough tables to sit comfortably, as long as you're not there on a Friday night during rush hour.

Unfortunately, I can only give it two stars. We've been getting falafel from KIMO for years when we're in Hamburg, but yesterday was probably the last time. Ordering was really complicated; the guys weren't friendly and pretended at least five times that they didn't understand what I was talking about. It wasn't funny either, more frustrating and irritating. The falafel in the bread was also noticeably less flavorful; there were no sauces, and it was dry and tasteless. Really a shame, it used to be good! :(

Used to be my absolute favorite falafel in Hamburg – today I had a very unpleasant surprise. I'd recommend omitting the fried bread chips – my entire falafel tasted like varnish. Maybe it was just old fat. I had to throw it away.

The store desperately needs a facelift and regular cleaning. *and card payment! Despite this criticism, the falafel is incredibly tasty so it is always full and I also like to go there.

That was absolutely unacceptable! There was no sign or indication that the toilet was closed. The colleague simply opened the door while I was in the toilet - without even knocking! Something like this crosses the boundaries of normal behavior and is absolutely not okay. It's disrespectful and shameful! He should urgently ensure that there is clear, visible signage when the toilet is closed and stick to never again simply opening the door of a women's toilet. This behavior is completely outside of normality and absolutely not to be tolerated!

Gen Z's go to place for non processed vegetarian food. (anyone over the age of 35 will stick out like a flare in the night sky 🤣) The falafelwraps here are one of the best you can get in Hamburg. Popularity and relatively low prices result in a high turnaround so you can expect the ingredients to be fresh. Prepare for a queue out of the door on to the street at peak times, (which is more or less every evening) but the wait does not exceed 20mins very often. The food is worth it though. Try to figure out what you would like to order before getting to the counter. If you are unsure of what to choose and you are not picky, go for the Kimo-Falafel wrap which includes a bit of nearly everything on display. Cant go wrong and prepare for an avalanche of different tastes. Eating in should only be considered if you have no other place to go or if the weather is horrible. The noise and the queue snaking its way through the restaurant never make eating here a pleasant experience. Take-away is highly recomended and they do pack the food in a way so it can be transported to... any nicer place. Foodwise a must for vegetarians and vegans. Service: minus 1 star for only taking tax-dodge friendly cash.

Insanely bad! My shawarma not only looked inedible but also tasted like ass crack. With a 4.6 rating I thought I could eat something delicious, but I ended up with the nastiest food I've ever eaten. Why do Egyptians always slap everything they find into shawarmas, it shouldn't be a bowl!

We made a direct comparison of Kimo and Falafelstern right next door - a falafel plate was ordered from both Result: We found the overall package to be a bit less good. The fresh vegetables were a bit bland, the sauces were very tasty but unfortunately a bit lacking. The falafels get a 6/10. Well seasoned, a little spicy and also nice and crunchy. Unlike falafels, it comes with bread. Overall, definitely a stable place to go and better value for money!

Kimo is the quick and dirty falaffel for on hand in the ski jump. The price is abysmal - you can't expect anything other than quick preparation and being full. The taste is good, as long as you stick with Fallaffel. You can sometimes play around with meat dishes, but there are plenty of alternatives on Same Street. It's possible to sit inside, but you'll want to get out quickly after eating. But that's just snack style. If someone expects more for the amount of food available here for €5, it's not Kimo's fault. In, out, eat & come back.

Mega delicious and always recommended…falafel in bread. Whenever I'm at Sternschanze, I have to get my falafel in bread. It's soooo delicious! The walnut paste in particular is amazing. The store is always busy. The falafel is always freshly prepared and the other dishes are also top. Staff is friendly and works very quickly. So don't be put off if the line stretches all the way out to the street. The wait is definitely worth it 🙏

The best falafel I've eaten outside of Egypt! I come here every time I visit Hamburg and am always thrilled. The prices are also okay. The restaurant itself is a bit run down, but it almost seems more authentic.

My absolute favorite falafel shop. Only on weekends in the evening do you often have to wait longer, as the shop is very popular and therefore often very full. Always worth a visit and definitely recommended

I would like to express my biggest disappointment about visiting this restaurant. First the food: Disgusting is an understatement. Everything was poorly prepared, inedible and did not meet my expectations at all. It was almost a cheek to serve something like that! Even worse than the food, however, was the staff. I have rarely experienced such rude and unprofessional employees. Nobody should do this to themselves – do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Super rude employees! Ordered Shawarma teller and it was not good at all. Teller was served with meat which was extremely cold and uncooked along with watery vegetables. May be better that they just focus on Falafel.

I just bought a classic Fallafel bag. It was sour I had to throw it away. Perhaps the hygiene procedures are not as routinely incorporated into the workflow there. I find it strange when something spoiled is sold. Unfortunately I was already at home (Wedel) otherwise I would have brought it back 😥

By the Lord of the Kaaba, I ate shit. A falafel sandwich at Kimo’s. The salad tastes disgusting and old, but the shop next to it is much better and very clean. I do not recommend Kimo to anyone.

The best falafel I've ever eaten! And a great price. I definitely recommend falafel wrapped in a wrap and not on a plate. There is usually a place to sit. Avoid the toilets, but at least you can wash your hands there.

By far the best street food. Since I've been living nearby again, I've been a regular there again. Due to the high quality and the really low prices, the store is often overrun. But even when stressed, the employees are always friendly. The ambience is not great. Has snack character. And you rarely get a free table during peak times. But that's not a bad thing because it's really good street food. I would highly recommend the store.

Probably one of the best falafel in Hamburg. For me the good father of Falafel. For a long time, the falafel sandwich here cost less than €3, but kebab inflation doesn't stop there either. Nevertheless, even today in 2024 the prices here are relatively fair. For just over €5, you can get a really good and tasty falafel sandwich, refined with pickled vegetables and fried vegetables. Very, very cool. The sauces are also convincing! If the bread were fresh and home-baked, the 5 stars would definitely be there. The experienced kebab palate is happy to accept an additional charge for this.
