Kimchi Mama korean BBQ in Berlin

Das beste koreanische Essen, das ich je gegessen habe!

Dies war mein dritter Besuch, und leider haben sich die Serviceprobleme nicht gebessert. Essen: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Das Essen ist absolut köstlich. Jedes Gericht, das ich probiert habe, war sehr geschmackvoll, und es gibt wirklich nichts am Geschmack auszusetzen. Service: Der Service ist unglaublich langsam. Bei allen drei Besuchen war mindestens ein Artikel meiner Bestellung falsch. Dieses Mal habe ich ausdrücklich die Kimchi-Suppe ohne Fleisch bestellt, sie wurde aber mit Fleisch serviert. Es gibt nur zwei Mitarbeiter, die etwa zehn kleine Tische bedienen, was an sich machbar erscheint. Allerdings wirkt die Küche unterbesetzt, und alles scheint im Chaos zu versinken. Selbst wenn die Bestellung nicht stimmt, ist das Essen so gut, dass man sich kaum lange beschweren kann. Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach fantastischem koreanischem Essen sind, kann ich dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Erwarten Sie nur keinen schnellen oder perfekten Service.

Wir waren hier zum Tischgrill (Korean BBQ) und es war fantastisch! Sehr authentische koreanische Küche, freundliche Bedienung und ein tolles Ambiente. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und können dieses Restaurant jedem empfehlen!

Die Inhaber, die gleichzeitig auch die Angestellten sind, waren sehr nett und charmant, und das Essen war köstlich und authentisch – besonders die Beilagen haben uns gut gefallen!

Ich liebe dieses Restaurant wirklich sehr, vom aufmerksamen Service bis zur Qualität des Essens. Wir waren schon oft hier und wurden nie enttäuscht. Es ist definitiv mein Lieblings-Koreaner in Berlin!

Ein gemütlicher und sehr schöner kleiner Laden. Wir waren mittlerweile bei einigen Koreanern in Berlin essen, aber Kimchi Mama hat bisher alles übertroffen.

Das Restaurant scheint familiengeführt zu sein und die Atmosphäre ist sehr gemütlich und entspannt. Wir bestellten Rindfleisch-Hotpot und er war absolut köstlich, die Brühe perfekt abgestimmt und alle Beilagen hervorragend. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Die Besitzerin bereitete unser Essen direkt am Tisch zu und war super freundlich. Wir baten um Ssamjang, um den authentischen Geschmack mit den Produkten aus dem Supermarkt zu vergleichen, und sie kam dem gerne nach. Das Essen war absolut köstlich und frisch! Zuerst dachten wir, die Portionen seien etwas klein, aber am Ende waren wir beide pappsatt! 5/5 für den authentischen Geschmack und die netten Leute, die das Restaurant führen. Die Preise sind für die Lage und die Qualität angemessen. Genießen!

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant in einem Seitenarm vom Kurfürstendamm. Wir hatten BBQ Chicken (H25) zu zweit. Es war äußerst lecker. Wie angekündigt, muss man scharf mögen. Gegart wird das Fleisch auf einer Gußplatte am Tisch. Dazu gab es 2x Reis und 4 kleine Portionen fermentiertes Gemüse (Kohl, Zucchini, Kartoffel, Rettich. Der Service war aufmerksam. Zur warmen Jahreszeit auch Tische im Freien

Authentic Korean food, fresh ingredients, very tasty

Absolutely fantastic! We visited Kimchi Mama for the first time today and were thrilled. Everything was completely fresh, tasted wonderful, and the portion sizes were just right. We were also delighted that our two dogs were allowed to come along. We'll definitely be back!

We are 4 ppl ordering two sets of Korean BBQ which both should come with a set of side dishes. But they refused to give us two sets of side dishes, instead they told us they made double portion on each small tiny plate because we ordered two sets. My friends who ate there before, sweared the portion for they two alone is not much less than the portion they gave 4 of us. I found it ridiculous that they are so greedy that they refused to give us what we actually paid for. If we will sit on two different tables and order separately they will give us two sets of side dishes. And you need to know, the plate for those Korean side dishes are very small. It can’t not be true that they put double portions on one plate then that means for single portion you get four potatoe cubes, or 4 cucumber slice …and it’s not even very expensive ingredients!!! Potato and cucumber?? Why are they so greedy!!!????

Great family run restaurant with authentic Korean food. The service was great and we received very friendly advice. The food was delicious and plentiful. Good selection of drinks, the homemade lemonade is highly recommended. Cozy atmosphere and nice decoration. The toilets resemble a closet, but are clean.

Yesterday I had an appointment there with a friend at 5 p.m. Two more guests came, so there were four of us. The somewhat unfriendly operator then seated us all so that we sat very close together and had to understand what the others were saying. The good thing was that the food was really excellent, but the service was extremely careless and when I asked for a glass of tap water, I was initially refused. I argued that I had ordered a large dish and a glass of wine and that I didn't like mineral water. On my third request I got the glass of water. However, it appeared on the bill as €2.99. I paid for it and won't be visiting the store again.

I came here because I wanted to eat Korean food in Germany, and the owner's service was friendly and I liked it :) I ordered the stone pot bibimbap and I highly recommend this dish! The food suits the tastes of not only Germans but also Koreans, making it a great place to visit often without burden!

The kimchi pancakes were truly exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, and the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. I particularly appreciate when servers provide thoughtful suggestions, as it enhances the dining experience. However, I must admit that I find it quite frustrating when servers make poor recommendations. Nevertheless, those pancakes were simply extraordinary; they were a revelation that left a profound impact on me. Kimchi Mama holds a special place in my heart, as it evokes fond memories of my own mother's cooking.

At Mama Kimchis you get super authentic korean Food!! We have been there with a Family group and had a few Starters! we would highly recommend the korean fried chicken. As a Main both korean bbq dishes were very Good! Service aswell was very friendly and Good! We will definitely come back.

Cosy, very friendly service. Food was decent but not particularly exceptional. Portion sizes are OK, the spice was not enough for us (usual in most German Asian restaurants) Overall tasty, reasonably priced food.

I was there recently for a barbecue with friends. As always, the boss was really friendly. Since it was Saturday evening the place was full. We had to wait a bit until we got food because many tables ordered at once. Still it was okay. What was really special was the pickled wild garlic that was served as a side dish. Food, staff and cleanliness were completely good. It's worth making a reservation, I reserved a table by phone on the day. Good business to your boss.

Incredibly good food and amazing staff!

This place is a small but authentic Korean restaurant that serves homemade kimchi and some wonderful Korean stews, soups and bbq. The food is flavourful, unpretentious and well-made and flavpurs are authentic. Under-rated still for the quality and price performance they offer since they arent active much on insta, so it is a find! They accept all payment except Amex which is convenient.

Solo guests not welcomed... I was there this evening with a friend of mine who is severely handicapped and has to follow a very strict diet. Unfortunately he cannot eat anything on the menu in this restaurant. Since I was the only one eating I ordered out of politeness a starter and a main course, even though the main course would have been enough for me really. When I paid, the owner who is extremely unfriendly, told us repeatedly that we would not be allowed to come back if my friend does not order anything (I precise that the place was not full when we were there, so my friend was not taking the place of someone else waiting outside.) To answer to what he replied: there is no way that I come every weekend as I live 900 km away in another country... Once again the restaurant was not full this Saturday when we were there (at 8pm). Your reply shows how dishonest you are...

Warm and cozy place with sweet charm. You feel like you've been invited to someone's home for dinner. The food is delicious and the owners are very accommodating. My daughter and I had planned a nice day today and we really wanted to do Korean BBQ, we love Korea! We were there 15 minutes before opening and we were allowed in because the lovely waitress didn't want to leave us outside in the cold. We then ordered BBQ and got the most delicious food you can imagine. We had a really nice evening and were treated so lovingly and kindly. The evening will remain in your memory forever and your relatives will definitely be drawn there too! Thank you, Sibylle

Nice restaurant in Charlottenburg. Unfortunately the reservation didn't work, but we were warmly welcomed and given a table. The food was very tasty and, in my opinion, quite authentic. There were a few side dishes, there is certainly still room for improvement, four bowls are rather modest. There were four of us and we had a lovely evening at Kimchi Mama.

The food is really okay. The big problem here is the extremely unfriendly and disrespectful owner. We have been here several times now and unfortunately we have always been treated very badly. There are alternatives in Berlin with better service

Haben hier zu abend gegessen und haben neben sehr freundlichem Personal auch sehr leckeres Essen bekommen. Es war ein gaumenschmaus auch wenn ich sonst sehr kritisch bin. Kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. Die H23 und H21 sind meine Empfehlungen. Personal war auch so freundlich uns nochmal eine extra Portion zu servieren

I love this place! The Beef Bulgogi was so tasty and not fatty. The owner Ahjumma was really friendly and even helped us to cook our BBQ and even asked us whether everything is good during the meal. 5 stars for everything!

Sehr leckeres und authentisches koreanisches Essen, guter Service und vernünftige Wartezeiten. Wenn ich das nächste Mal wieder in Berlin bin komme ich gerne wieder.

Auf der Suche nach einem neuen koreanischen Restaurant zum Testen, haben meine Freunde und ich das Kimchi Mama aufgrund der vielen guten Rezension ausgewählt Schon die Tischreservierung gestaltete sich als schwierig, weil niemand ans Telefon ging und auch nicht auf unsere Email antwortete. Bestellt haben wir Meeresfrüchte Pancakes, Bibimbap beef, Korean BBQ, Kimchi Eintopf und ein weiteres Gericht, das ich vergessen habe. Die Bedienung drängte uns förmlich mehr zu bestellen, weil wir so wenig bestellt haben und sagte, wenn wir nachträglich etwas bestellen wollen, so würden wir mindestens 40 Minuten warten müssen. Zum Glück sind wir nicht darauf eingegangen bzw. haben mehr bestellt, denn das Essen war im Vergleich zu anderen koreanischen Restaurants nur ok gewesen. Sogar der special Eistee mit Beeren hat uns nicht im geringsten geschmeckt, auch wenn er ganz hübsch aussah. Er bestand gefühlt aus nur Wasser mit einem Spritzer Saft oder Sirup und einer Menge gefrorenen Preisel- und Johannisbeeren. Das kann man auch selbst machen. Einzig das Banchan war gut. Es gibt in Berlin so viele koreanische Restaurants. Das Kimchi Mama werden wir bestimmt nicht wieder besuchen. TIP: Nehmt vorsichtshalber eine Tupperdose mit, denn schafft Ihr nicht, alles aufzuessen, so wird Euch das Essen nicht eingepackt, da es kein To Go gibt.
