Kebabhaus Ilayda in Mainz

I've been going to this kebab shop for over 20 years now. The owner, the staff, and the food are all top-notch! It's won several surveys for the best kebab in Mainz, and as a long-time customer, I can only confirm that it's a great asset to Hechtsheim and all of Mainz! Thank you!

I heard about it through a newspaper article and ordered it for the whole family. Amazing taste, a very well-filled kebab and lacmacun. Super delicious, I recommend it to everyone.

A really good doner kebab, especially the bread was excellent – crispy and with a good bite. The meat was also good, and the tomato was fresh, not soggy. Unfortunately, the garlic sauce was only on top of the doner, so it squeezed out during the first few bites and was barely there halfway through.

Very good shop! The menu is absolutely extensive. The quality of the kebabs and the kebab plates was fantastic. The fries were crispy, the meat cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. The salad was fresh and well-cut, and the sauces were perfectly balanced. The service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly, and the preparation was completed in a short time. So, it's not without reason that it's the best kebab in town! Thank you.

The food was really very tasty. Unfortunately the seating area is very dirty, the chairs are totally broken. There are pieces hanging everywhere. It's all very sticky. You then ask yourself, what does it look like in the kitchen🫣 The kebab meat was fresh, as were the salads on display. Update 04/2025: In the meantime, the seating area has been renovated again and everything now looks very well maintained.

The best Dürüm in Mainz, no lie! The Dürüm bread is simply a 10/10. I've never been served unfriendly or anything like that. ALWAYS sincere & courteous & friendly!

I ate there for the first time this week with work colleagues. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The bread, the meat... very tasty... no tons of sauces etc. You don't need any more yogurt, garlic. Will come again...

I advise you to go and see how doner kebab is made, how to make a doner bread, how it is to be a tradesman despite the intensity and fatigue, and to eat a doner kebab even though you are a doner maker. The money this tradesman brother gets is halal and I give it seven stars out of ten. May your sustenance last forever

Yesterday I ate a kebab plate there with fries and salad for the first time. In terms of taste it's a 5 star, the portion is super large and at €12 it's more than fair. And I'm well aware that it's not a restaurant in the classic sense, but you could make the dining room a little more inviting with just a few simple steps. Started with removing cobwebs (I reached straight in here when I wanted to move the chair). It also works behind the counter. But you can always and everywhere find something that you can do better.

Most delicious kebab and lahmacun. Homemade bread. Everything fresh and crunchy. I'm a repeat offender who drives up here every week for a small family and orders (and has done so for years). Parking situation is bad, but what wouldn't you do for a good meal.

Expect honest and delicious food. And very generous portions!! Gladly again :-)

Nice staff, nice shop, cozy location in the town center. Doner kebab is good and not as expensive as some other kebab stalls. Pizza Margherita has way, way, way, way too much cheese on it. With a base that was about 1cm thick, there was a layer of cheese on it that was twice as thick.

Small kebab shop with friendly staff. The dishes ordered were freshly prepared. Everything tasted fine. The ambience is simple and clean - only the covers on the chairs and benches urgently need to be replaced. Unfortunately, parking spaces are in short supply.

Today I ate at Ilayda's and I have to say it was the best pizza I've ever had. Everything was super fresh, and the dough had a unique texture and flavor that set it apart from other pizzerias. The quality of the ingredients and the careful preparation really made the difference. If you're looking for an exceptional pizza experience, I highly recommend Ilyda!

Very standard Döner. Nothing worth being noted about the food (neither in negative nor in positive) Prices have increased recently so the prices displayed here on Google maps by other customers are no more up to date (from six to seven point five for a standard döner). The service was terrible (maybe was the midday rush ?) forgetting to ask about the preferences for the Döner and not making it clear whose Döner was ready once it was time to pay (maybe there is a new guy needing training at the cash?) Not the Döner's fault but parking is terrible in the area... So I probably won't drive all the way for this one anymore.

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it was a few years ago🙁 Doner kebabs are prepared carelessly and often fall apart completely, making it impossible to eat. Unfortunately too many onions, but not enough tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. The meat also became less. In my last orders, things were often mixed up or the chili flakes were forgotten. Unfortunately, there are hardly any parking spaces at all, the kebab shop is on a one-way street, which is why you have to drive around the outside by car (a 5-minute detour), but unfortunately there is no guarantee of a parking space. Often you have to walk for several minutes because the nearest parking spaces are further away🙁 Nevertheless, there are also positive things👍🏼 the employees are very nice and the sauces are very tasty. The garlic sauce is particularly recommended, it has a unique taste 👍🏼the kebab plate is also generously filled 👍🏼 the fries are crispy and very well seasoned, definitely recommended. I hope the kebab shop returns to its old quality soon, but still recommended.

Das Essen wird schnell und frisch zubereitet. Allerdings steht und fällt ein guter Döner für mich mit der Soße und diese ist einfach zu wässrig und hat kaum Geschmack.

Bester Döner in Mainz! Wir lieben vor allem das Pide sehr! Der Teig wird selbst gebacken, es ist unglaublich lecker und alle sind dort sehr nett!

Einer der besten Döner in Mainz. Gutes Fleisch, frisches Grünzeug und gutes Brot. Riesen Portion von der man satt wird. Nur zu empfehlen. Leider schlecht mit Auto, da kaum Parkplätze in der Nähe.

Ambiente nicht so doll aber ich möchte ja auch essen zum mitnehmen und das ist immer sehr sehr lecker. Ich nehme auch gerne mal einen kleinen Umweg in Kauf. So lecker 😋 ist das. Frisch knackig und günstig. Die Portionen sind gut. Bin noch nie eingegangen. Übrigens bei Essen zum mitnehmen, sie sind sehr fix. Echt toll werde wiederkommen.

Beste Pide in Mainz hab vorher immer Döner gegessen

Einer der Besten Döner die ich gegessen habe. Angefangen von einem tollen knusprigen Brot, über leckeres Fleisch und frische Zutaten bis hin zu einer leckeren aber nicht zu dominanten Knoblauchsoße. Dazu ein bisschen scharf und der perfekte Döner war fertig. Zusätzlich zu erwähnen ist die total leckere Pizza. Meine Tochter hatte eine Pizza Margeritha die einfach super lecker war. Leckerer Teig und auf den Punkt genau gebacken. Vergleich zu der Pizzaria wo wir ein Tag zuvor waren, hat das Kebabhaus sogar den Pizzavergleich gegen die Pizzaria gewonnen 👍👍👍. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Döner was OK. Zu wenig soße aber ganz leckeres Fleisch. Salat sah frisch aus. Aber dafür dass es hier Laut AZ den besten döner in Mainz geben soll, bin ich etwas enttäuscht. Nicht schlecht aber gibt einfach leckere Döner in Mainz.

Best Döner in Moguntia. Selbst gebackene Brote, leckere Soßen und gutes Fleisch. Immer wieder ein Fest😋 Und auch die Mannschaft ist immer gut drauf und für einen Spruch zu haben. Weiter so💪💪💪

Hervorragender Dönerteller für den großen Hunger! Die Mitarbeiter sind bestens gelaunt und sehr freundlich. Die Zubereitung nach telefonischer Bestellung ging bisher immer super schnell.

Der Döner ist sehr lecker, Salat und Fleisch sind immer frisch und die Knoblauchsoße ist etwas scharf. Also genau richtig :) die Döner sind immer reichlich gefüllt, die Dürüms manchmal so sehr, dass man sie fast nicht mehr wickeln kann. Hier ist weniger manchmal mehr. Aber alles in allem ein super Döner!

Als Monteure dortgewesen und mit Dönerteller und Spezialdöner gut gesättigt worden. Einzige Einschränkung i Sind die Parkmöglichkeiten vor der Türe aber nimmt man gerne in kauf für gutes Essen!!!
