Kebabadin in Detmold

The doner kebab used to be one of the best around, and the owner is a great guy who enjoys his work. Unfortunately, those days of delicious doner kebabs are over. Lately, the meat has been very dry and the onions very bitter. I'll still come back, though, but only for a doner box :-DD

The best lahmacun ever! I've been living in Bremen for several years now, but I haven't found a kebab shop as fantastic as Kebabadin's. A visit to Kebabadin's is a must on every trip to Detmold. I always enjoy coming back and look forward to the friendly chat and warm welcome. 🫶🏻😊

This is a shop that focuses more on good preparation and the quality of the food and not on all the other unnecessary things. It's more of a small snack bar than a shop, so it gets one star less, but the food is really delicious. For people who like veal, this is the right place for it; really great veal. The kebab man is nice, but not disgustingly slimy like you sometimes get in kebab shops, hahaha... I'm just wondering why you can never buy such good veal in Höxter and Holzminden. No matter which shop you go to, the food is by far worse, and here you really don't notice it because of the good, cheap food!

The lahmacun today was very poorly prepared; there was very little meat, and what was there was very dry. It's a shame, I know better. Moreover, half the menu is covered in yellow and black, which is very misleading.

I used to love coming here, it was the only place that had spinach lamacun. The food was absolutely tasteless! It was poorly prepared, and the place looked very dirty. The service was not really on the ball. Too bad this was our last visit ;-(.

So, as far as the food goes, there's nothing to complain about. Everything is delicious. You're warmly greeted like old friends. The owner is very friendly and always in a good mood. And there's always time for a little chat. Unfortunately, the prices have gotten quite expensive. If you want good food in a hurry, this is the place. Highly recommended. 👍👍

I recently ate a doner kebab here (May 10, 2025). It was very tasty. The price is still reasonable. I paid €7.00 for the doner kebab with tzatziki. You'd pay more elsewhere. It tastes delicious, the service is very friendly, and they prepare my order very quickly. Top quality, top service! I'll be eating here more often in the future. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, it's become very expensive, so you think twice about going there. I can understand that everything has become more expensive overall, BUT I absolutely can't understand why they have to raise their prices so drastically, especially since it's a very popular restaurant and the prices should really be more reasonable. Other than that, the food there is perfectly fine.

The waiting time was supposed to be 10 minutes, but after more than 40 minutes the time had come. Probably the worst salad in a long time. Cabbage with a slice of old tomato, some onion with no taste at all, kebab and fries weren't any better. We had to completely throw away the food for 3 people. The store used to be a real recommendation, what a shame!

Favorite kebab shop in Detmold. Food is great and service even better. Always friendly and accommodating! A few years ago I didn't have enough money for a kebab. Instead of giving me one, he told me everything was fine, just come over for the next few days and pay the rest. He has a fundraiser where you can donate a kebab to those who have no money, and is generous even without these donations - he gives food to those in need. Really a great guy and the Detmold celebrity.

We were there very late in the evening, unfortunately the old meat was reheated in the pizza oven. My food tasted accordingly. Unfortunately I cannot make a recommendation.

I went on a kebab tour in Lippe with a few friends to find the best kebab in Lippe and this kebab was definitely in the top 3

The best Kebaps place in Europe. 100% recommended

It used to be good years ago Not so much today, I've eaten there 3 times now and all 3 times I had problems with my stomach, after which I was allowed to take a look into the kitchen, I realized and left without eating and without paying. Never again

Because of the good reviews, we went to this kebab shop with 3 children after a trip. It was a disaster. The store itself is very unkempt. A window is open and rests on the refrigerator. The refrigerator door is broken. We ordered 2 kebabs, a lahmacun and a pizza margherita. The pizza was just lahmacun dough with cheese on top. It was really thin and had nothing like a pizza. The other dishes had all the old dry meat. Meat that has already been cut thick is packed into the kebab bag and put together in the oven, so the meat is super dry. No vegetables (tomato, cucumber) were put in. Just the dry, far too thick meat, coleslaw and sauce. Something else is delicious. There were no seats in the store itself and we had to sit outside. The tables and benches had pigeon droppings everywhere. We paid €60 for the 4 dishes and 4 drinks. I wouldn't recommend the store to anyone and I don't understand the good reviews either...

I'm not much of a kebab expert and therefore can't judge whether it really is Lippe's best kebab, as is often said. At least I've had much worse kebabs and was satisfied with the taste, even if it wasn't outstanding. The owner is very nice and also socially committed. For example, you can pay for a kebab and then it becomes a voucher for a homeless person, which I think is a great thing. The shop needs a bit more maintenance though; It does seem a bit greasy. That can definitely make you lose your appetite. In addition, despite all understanding and love, the waiting times are simply absurd. With a three-quarter-hour lunch break, you can't wait half an hour for a simple kebab or something similar, especially when the shop isn't even full yet. And then you are sent outside to wait, which is really not possible, especially in bad weather. Unfortunately there are no more than 3 stars in it and only with a blind eye and because of the nice owner and his social streak.

I absolutely cannot understand the good reviews because Detmold has really good kebab shops. The meat was simply toasted together with the bread so that it was warm!!! The vegetables were uncut on the counter and the meat was, of course, dry as usual. The kebab was also prepared incorrectly and the fries were fried in the fat from the day before. Never experienced anything like this

Doner meat was heated in bread on the grill… very dry. Vegetables were not cut and very little was put on them. No mayonnaise available, but at least cold drinks. Unfortunately not recommended at all.

Unfortunately the kebab was of poor quality, despite the high price. Terribly dry and not much sauce. the meat could have been better too. I was tempted by the reviews and was very disappointed with this visit.

Still one of the best kebabs with very friendly preparation and the option "Lipper for Lipper" (paying for a kebab or other meal/drink = conversion into a voucher so that this 'donation in kind' really benefits someone in need and is not tempted by cash ); very good thing, in my opinion!

About 10 years ago, as a little boy, I sang “I have an onion on my head, I am a kebab.” Afterwards I was allowed to choose a drink on the house. Best kebab shop in Detmold and in all of North Rhine-Westphalia. The boss is personable and makes the kebab with love ❤️❤️

What the hell was this? I came based on the reviews but I can tell you one thing: DO NOT eat here. The lovage was harder than chips everywhere birds eat with you. The meat was dry and inedible!

The same kebab then as now. I ate there for the first time almost 13 years ago and the last time was the day before yesterday. Hussein is a great asset to Detmold and the world, a very social and friendly person. The handmade lahmacune are made fresh every morning, so it's worth being quick.

A small kebab shop in a very nice location. During my visit there was a slightly longer waiting time, but the friendly owner made this a positive one and the food made the waiting time forgettable.

I had somewhat high expectations with the reputation and that it was Lippe's best kebab. The service is classic. The owner has everything under control and is happy with what he does. You notice that straight away. I had a kebab XL and my girlfriend a lahmacun. Both were tasty, but not so good that you would necessarily come back. The meat is crispy and well seasoned. But I found the bread a bit thin and too crunchy. And the sauce also lacked strength and flavor. The cheese also didn't have much flavor or saltiness. Overall, a good kebab and I've had better lahmacun in Lippe. Of course it depends on what other kebabs you've had in Lippe or Detmold in recent years. But the competition has become greater and also improved. The atmosphere is rustic. That's the way it is here, but I think so. If he were to change that, a certain crush would be missing. The price for Döner XL and Lahmacun was 17 EUR.

I have known Kebabadin since the 90's and it has been the place for a Döner in Detmold ever since. Hussein is the friendliest and cooles Döner-man I know and it is always a pleasure to stop by when we are visiting from Frankfurt. A place for the whole family. Seid 1983 ist es für uns immer wieder ein Genuss, sowie ein Erlebnis hier bei Hussein den besten Döner, das beste Lamlacun, leckere Pommes oder was auch immer zu essen! (Wir waren sogar mal statt beim geplanten Silvesterdinner dort und haben es geliebt statt "Glemmer" in der kleinen Bude zu stehen! Die Qualität im Kebadin ist hervorragend, auf die liebevolle sowie professionelle Zubereitung ist absolut Verlass! Probiert es aus - es lohnt sich Hussein ist stets gut gelaunt, hat immer etwas nettes zu erzählen und ein großes Herz für Bedürftige. Claudia und Detlef Tiburzy

Supernetter Kebab-Meister, der sei Handwerk beherrscht und auf individuelle Wünsche eingeht. Das Kalbfleisch vom Dönerspies ist gut gewürzt und knusprig. Drin kann man stehend essen. Draußen gibt es Sitzmöglichkeiten.

Der beste Döner lippe das bestimmt nicht der Döner ist ok das Fleisch nichts besondres ich habe ein Döner bekommen da war fast gar nichts drinnen Brot nicht s besondres da fehlt einfach Leidenschaft und dier laden ist sowas von runter gekommen geräte sehen aus sauberkeit naja soll jeder selbst entscheiden

Nicht nur der erste Dönerladen in Detmold, sondern meiner Meinung auch der Beste! Das Personal ist super nett und ist auch für hilfsbedürftige Mitbürger da. Einfach gute und nette Menschen! Die Preise sind angemessen und das Essen muss man als Detmolder und auch als Tourist unbedingt mal probiert haben.
