Super freundliches Personal..Essen prima ...Preis Leistung stimmt .....

An sich bin ich mit dem Essen mehr als zufrieden!! Bisher haben mein Partner und ich nur bestellt und können nichts zum Ambiente sagen. Um ehrlich zu sein, bin ich aber ziemlich enttäuscht, da ich zur Vorspeisenplatte kein Brot bekommen habe. Bei meinem Partner standen bei seinem Gyros auch keine Pommes dabei, weshalb ich davon ausgegangen bin, dass Brot dabei sei. 6 Dipps und ein paar gehackte getrocknete Tomaten mit Feta für 18 Euro, keine gefüllten Weinblätter wie vor ein paar Jahren und kein Mozzarella. Inflation kann ich vollkommen nachvollziehen, aber das ist sehr enttäuschend. Vor ein paar Jahren war noch Brot dabei, bei einem wesentlich geringeren Preis..

Leider nicht so geil. Die Bilder sind laut Restaurant mit Ki gemacht und haben nichts mit dem gelieferten Essen zu tun. Die Keftedaki sind keine Bällchen. Der Salat war an vielen Stellen braun und kam ohne Dressing. Ein Gericht hatte kein Salz. Not again

Unglaublich, fantastisch! Die Fischplatte für zwei Personen war jeden Cent wert. Und die Tomatensuppe auch! Wir haben 61 Euro bezahlt und bekamen dann noch ein Dessert gratis dazu!

Das Essen ist fantastisch. Die Atmosphäre ist umwerfend, aber was mir wirklich in Erinnerung bleiben wird, ist ihr Lächeln!

Wir sind seit Jahren zufrieden, bis heute! Gyros Zaziki wie immer, aber heute Fleisch zu salzig,zu trocken, zu dunkel/ schwarz, dafür weniger Zaziki dafür aber den Preis von 14,50 Euro auf 16,50 Euro erhöht. Schade, sind doch extrem enttäuscht. :- (

Hervorragender Service, wirklich sehr nette Leute und tolle Qualität zu einem guten Preis. Ich kann dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Ein besonderes Dankeschön an die freundliche Bedienung!

We wanted to eat here on New Year's Eve. I emailed the restaurant the day before to request a table. On December 31st, I received an email saying they were fully booked. So the search started all over again, which is very difficult on such a night. I don't think this is how you treat customers. I will never go to this restaurant again; they apparently don't need my business.

It was incredibly delicious and the service was super friendly.

Two weeks ago, we visited this restaurant with our family and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and service we received. We were shown to our table and handed the menus. After a while, a member of staff came and asked us for our drink orders and then for our food orders. That's exactly how it should be. The food was truly freshly prepared, and the salad garnish was a surprise for all of us, as they used lemon vinegar and pomegranate seeds, for example. This shows that the chef in the kitchen isn't your average chef. The portions were very generous, and everyone of us was satisfied. Our daughter's special requests were also accommodated. Even at the final ouzo, our underage daughter was given a non-alcoholic drink so she could join us in the toast. We would love to come back and felt very comfortable with you.

We were greeted and served by very friendly staff, the portions were generous, and everything was fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.

This is not Greek food. If you want to have a Greek menu abroad, you have to stick to the flavors and recipes, otherwise give it a German name and make it a beer bar! I ordered a portion of meatballs and got three small burgers, nothing like a Greek burger. The food was tasty, but it wasn't Greek. Also 8€ for three pieces of minced meat, thieves! If you are Greek and looking for Greek flavors in Essen, look elsewhere.

Booked ahead and quickly shown to our table on arrival. Our German ( and Greek ) much to our shame is very poor so luckily we were looked after by an English speaking waiter who was attentive, witty, helpful and very accommodating to our requests and questions. The food, was very impressive. Our waiter even recommended a shared starter as the mains were of good proportions and he was spot on. Superb lamb dish, beautifully melt in the mouth, delicious pork in Metaxa cheese sauce… excellent. All four of us were wowed and one of our pack a Sous Chef, so knows! Pricing for food and wine extremely reasonable too. Great service, great food, great pricing and a great night, our favourite meal out whilst in Essen. Just sorry that we can’t return…

We've already eaten there 3 times. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. The service is great and the food is classic Greek. The ouzo on the house after the meal rounds it all off. 10/10

Great place! Booked ahead, no problem with our booking, not very busy so food arrived in good time but not at all rushed. Everyone enjoyed all they had, service very good and very good humoured too despite our non existent Greek and poor German! No complaints, no issues, just very enjoyable evening with lovely food, inexpensive menu and fine friendly service. Some English spoken by our waiter/ server. Would return again quite happily!

Paid 27 euros and not even full. Never been disappointed by a Greek in my life. Charged three euros for Metaxasauce and then forgot about it. Impudence of the store. I'll never do that to myself again.

We went to Kava & Meze for the first time yesterday. The restaurant was busy and yet the service was quick and extremely friendly. What made me very happy was that there were also senior plates and even that was plenty. The food came quickly and everything tasted very good, especially the tzatziki. Unfortunately we didn't like the non-alcoholic beer, but that's just a matter of taste. If we are in Essen again, we will definitely come back :)

We went there today on the recommendation of a good friend. Since today is our 33rd wedding anniversary and I stated this when making the reservation, the table was very nicely laid out. Everything was great, the food was really good and filling and the staff was super nice and very attentive. We will be happy to come back. Greetings Olli and Marion

Very friendly staff Lots of choice on the menu but not too much that you feel overwhelmed Very varied The best gyros in Metaxa sauce that I have ever eaten I can only recommend this restaurant, it's definitely worth a visit and I won't stick with one

Delicious Greek food, friendly and attentive service

A dark, rustic 80s pub - that was our first impression. Decorated for Christmas with loud Greek music. It was quite loud, so it was difficult for us to have a conversation. The restaurant was very busy for a Monday. Many guests received a warm personal welcome. The menu is typical, the selection includes a lot of bifteki and fillet skewers. The white wine we ordered was quite bland. I discovered the 2 liter bottles on the counter too late, otherwise it would have been just water. The side salad was quite clear. 3 leaves of lettuce, 1 slice of cucumber, 1/8th of a tomato, 1 slice of radish, ready-made dressing and pomegranate. The bifteki was ok. Rice lukewarm, fries ok. The skewer was freshly fried, very tasty. The western fries were sometimes quite hard, there was a piece of octupus and it was out of place. The hollandaise from the pack. The service was mediocre, we ate longer tried to pay. Conclusion: we didn't feel comfortable. Too loud, too dark, mediocre food. We don't understand the good reviews. There are better Greek restaurants. We'll definitely come not again and can't recommend it. Small addendum: there was news in the press that this restaurant was closed at short notice by the health department due to hygiene deficiencies....

Now the health department has really reopened the shop, I don't understand that, despite the significant mold infestation they are continuing as before, I don't think that's right.

Was there for the first time yesterday with my friends. I liked it a lot 👍. What I really liked is the meze. I will eat it next time. I ate gyros with metaxa. And of course Zaitsiki. I'm looking forward to seeing you again

Food, staff and price/performance are simply great.

Waited almost 2 hours for the food, that's too long. It was only carried out of the kitchen for delivery. You should decide whether you want to take care of your guests on site or prefer to deliver them. So no recommendation although the food was good.

Overpriced and disgusting. I've never ordered such bad Greek food. Kava meze platter for two is a joke. Firstly, it looked unappetizing and completely overpriced at almost 30 euros. It didn't taste good either.

We can only recommend this restaurant. Guests with celiac disease will be taken into consideration 👍🏻 The fries were prepared separately in a pan. All meat dishes were gluten free. We would love to come back 😃

A price-performance winner!!! We had a really good meal here. The dining room is a little dusty, but has been brought into modern times with modern accents. Here you can feel comfortable in the reduced ambience. The food tastes really good, we especially liked the Metaxa sauce (lighter than usual and with a lot more flavor). You can also feel like a guest... a very attentive, personal and friendly service.

Typically Greek, friendly service, delicious food and the price was right too.

We were there with 15 people on the penultimate day before the company holidays. Two of our guests had ordered moussaka and it was filled with burnt aubergine. The bread was baked again and bone hard. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed and so were many of my guests. The starter plates were also a joke.

We had a cold starter plate and the grill plate for two people, which we definitely couldn't manage. Our son had the gratinated gyros in Metaxa sauce. That was just amazingly good. Food was super quick, very nice staff, fantastically delicious moussaka and the chocolate dream was a dream come true. Of course, the rest of the food is also highly recommended. Unfortunately only cash payment at the moment, thank God it's not a problem for us but nowadays card payments should be a given. We're looking forward to next time.

This evening we were guests at this Greek restaurant. It was a nice little restaurant. The food was very good and everyone's meat was super juicy and really well prepared. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience. Kudos to the chef.

I'm surprised at the good reviews from others! After 20 minutes the order arrived, the gyro gratin was cold! Despite aluminum packaging! Fries and rice were not seasoned and the portion size of tzaziki was not justified for the price of €5!

Es war ein schöner Abend mit 14 Personen zum Weihnachtsessen. Das Essen war geschmacklich gut, die Portionen völlig ausreichend und der Preis angemessen bis eher günstig. Obwohl es gut besucht und wir mit der größeren Gruppe vor Ort waren, wurde das Essen, in vielen verschiedenen Gerichten ziemlich schnell serviert! Das Ambiente ist eher bieder aber nicht zu folkloristisch 😉Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich - Vielen Dank und weiter so!!

Vor ca 4 Wochen mit 3 Freundinnen im Kava&Meze zum Essen gewesen. Leider waren wir alle enttäuscht von unseren Gerichten.Wir hatten Gyrospfännchen mit Metaxasosse bestellt.Die Pommes waren noch hell und nicht kross ,der Gyross war von sehr schlechter Qualität und der Salat war total geschmacklos.Im grossen und Ganzen war der Abend ein Reinfall.Werde dort nicht mehr essen gehen

Waren zu siebt dort. Service war erstklassig, das Essen viel und sehr lecker. Das Restaurant und die sanitären Anlagen sehr sauber. Einzig das Ambiente könnte etwas griechischer sein, aber das tut dem Ganzen keinen negativen Effekt! Danke für einen schönen Abend! Wir kommen wieder! 🫶🏻👍 Sind hier gewesen, weil wir vor einiger Zeit über Lieferando dort bestellt haben und sehr zufrieden waren!

Wir wollten gestern mit der Kulinaris Card bei Kava und Meze essen gehen. Wir haben extra vorher angerufen und gefragt, ob die Karte heute gilt. Als wir eingetroffen sind haben wir Getränke bestellt und noch einmal nachgefragt wie es mit der Karte geregelt ist. Dann wurde uns gesagt, dass die Karte heute NICHT Gültig wäre, wir aber trotzdem gerne etwas bestellen können. Wir waren über diese Aussage sehr enttäuscht. Wir haben uns auf den Abend gefreut und wollten unseren Jahrestag feiern. Nach der Aussage sind wir in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen.
