Waren mit der Familie unten im Restaurant essen alles Prima, frisch und lecker. Jedoch war im Berreich der Lebensmittel eine Dame an der kasse die sehe unmöglich und respektlos mit Kunden redet. Ich wollte mit meinem kleinem 4.Jährigen Neffen auf die Toilette gehen, mein Neffe ist vorgerannt und ist unter eine absperrung ( die für mich keinen Sinn ergab weil sie nicht wirklich was abgesperrt hat) runtergekrabbelt. Die Dame an der Kasse fing an rumzuschreien und sich aufzuregen. Kann man auch alles mit einem Normalen Ton sagen. und nicht durch den ganzen Laden brüllen als hätte man was geklaut.

In jedem Galaria Geschäft sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter egal ob in Münster 2 mal , Oberhausen , in Bochum oder in Köln 2 mal wir finden meistens überall etwas. Die Kaufhäuser müssen in Deutschland bleiben egal wo die gehören einfach in großen Städten. Das ist sehr traurig das z. B. Essen kein Geschäft mehr hat. Oder auch Dortmund die Geschäfte gehören einfach in solchen Städten. Hoffentlich bleiben diese Geschäfte in Deutschland und Europa geöffnet. Danke das es euch gibt

Restaurant im Kaufhof Wir waren gestern Mittag 8.5.2026 dort zum Essen. Es gab exzellente Maischolle. Der junge Koch, der uns unberiet und bediente, war extrem höflich und sehr freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Er sprach mit dem Kunden vor uns fließend Französisch und hätte mit uns das Gleiche in Englisch getan. Mein Mann und ich waren sehr beeindruckt von dem Service und können alles mit sehr gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Well done and good luck! Angelika Merfort Siegen

Bin immer noch extrem verärgert und geschockt, über so ein unfähiges Personal in der Uhrenservice Abteilung Galeria Köln Hohe Str. Dort wurde meine Uhr offensichtlich von einer Praktikantin ( wirkte sehr kindlich und unsicher ) durch heftiges Schlagen mit einem Hammer beschädigt ! Habe Ihr gesagt das Sie es lassen soll wenn Sie nicht in der Lage ist die Uhr zu öffnen. Die entgegnete kess, irgendwie muß man die Uhr ja öffnen, sie hätte schließlich keinen Schlitz. Mit weiterer Gewalt hat Sie die Uhr dann zwar aufbekommen, dabei aber die Dichtung und das Gehäuse beschädigt. Dann frug Sie Ihren ausländischen Kollegen ( anscheinend genauso unfähig ) wo die Dichtungen sind, allerdings wußte der noch nicht mal was eine Dichtung ist. Später hat sie diese gefunden aber weil es nicht die richtige war, diese einfach mit Gewalt gedehnt und eingesetzt. Das Ende vom Lied war, das auf dem nach Hause Weg der Boden abgefallen ist. Außerdem hat sich anscheinend durch das heftige Klopfen das Zifferblatt verschoben. Wenn jemand seine Uhr mal richtig schrotten lassen möchte, ist hier mit Sicherheit an der richtigen Adresse. Ich für meinen Teil, werde hier nicht noch einmal hingehen. Kann es aber nicht begreifen wie ein so schlecht geschultes Personal dort arbeiten kann. Einfach nur peinlich !

Ich war in der Markthalle, wollte meine Galeriakarte in der App vorzeigen, die Kassiererin meinte, dass dies nicht geht, da die Markthalle nichts mit Galeria zu tun hat, sie gehöre nicht dazu. Auf den Kassenbon steht das Logo und auch an der Kasse an sich. Alles sehr merkwürdig 😵💫, deshalb konnte ich keine Galeriapunkte sammeln.?

Ich habe im Kaufhaus Schuhe für 110 € gekauft und war insgesamt ca. 40 Minuten im Geschäft, da das Personal sehr lange nach dem passenden Karton gesucht hat – am Ende wurde keiner gefunden. Früher war es so, dass man ab einem Einkaufswert von 50 € kostenlos parken konnte. Heute wurde mir gesagt, dass dies nur noch über eine App funktioniert, die zusätzlich mit der Karte verknüpft werden muss – ziemlich kompliziert. Für mich hat das leider nichts mit Kundenfreundlichkeit zu tun. Schade, denn so wird das Einkaufserlebnis unnötig erschwert.

My shopping experience at Galeria Kaufhof in Cologne was, unfortunately, disappointing once again. Even the parking garage makes a poor impression – it's dirty and, moreover, unreasonably expensive, especially when you then have to endure long waits at the checkout in the store. On my last two visits, the checkout areas were clearly understaffed. Although the checkout area is designed for several cashiers, only one was open at a time, resulting in waits of around 15 minutes. Given the high parking fees, this is particularly frustrating. The service at the checkout was also disappointing. I missed the friendly greetings like "Thank you for your purchase" or "Have a nice day," which I used to expect and which are quite common in other stores. Friendly customer service should be a given, but sadly, it isn't anymore – instead, indifference is palpable. The exchange process was also very time-consuming and unnecessarily complicated. First, the reason for the return had to be stated verbally (wrong size for my grandchild), and then the same reason had to be documented again in writing with my address and signature. This bureaucratic process is outdated. Overall, the department store gives me a rather dusty impression. The staff's lack of motivation is clearly noticeable, which further detracts from the shopping experience. Conclusion: There is room for improvement in cleanliness, staffing levels, customer service, and return procedures. Unfortunately, this is how you lose customers and dig your own grave...

Visiting Cologne. Thursday evening, a quick shopping trip before the early weekend. Then a nice meal and drinks. Well, the mood suffered considerably while shopping. Finally, a big city, I thought, a glittering world with beautiful merchandise. So, into the famous Kaufhof department store... First, I stepped in pigeon droppings in the parking garage... (Can't they get rid of these creatures??), then I wandered aimlessly through some corridors and stairwells. Completely deserted. Poorly signposted, or maybe I'm just too dense to find my way to the sales floor. It felt like a lost place. Then, into the fun... What?! I got lost again. I'd accidentally landed in a universe of beige-gray women's lingerie. OMG. A wild escape through strangely grayish-white aisles. Children's clothes like something out of a museum. Men's clothing, including office wear like from before the pandemic. It also felt like a museum. And so empty. On the ground floor, I saw daylight. Nice. I'm really sorry, but the whole place is so outdated. They really need to invest. But my friend from Cologne says they're negotiating to reduce the rent and otherwise they'll move out. Seriously? I mean, it's a prime location. They need enough sales staff and good merchandise (maybe they should revamp the purchasing department? Bring in some good subtenants?). Why take over a chain if you're not going to invest anything? Kaufhof was a real institution in Cologne, my friend says. He's probably right, but that also comes with responsibility.

GALERIA Köln Hohe Straße is a very large department store with a wide range of great products. They have an impressive selection across different categories. During my visit, I ended up buying some clothes, a few toys, and even a Samsonite backpack—which was definitely not cheap, but the quality and selection were excellent. The store offers a great variety of brands and items, so it’s easy to spend quite some time browsing. The only downside was that there didn’t seem to be enough staff available to help customers when needed. Overall though, I had a good shopping experience and would definitely visit again when in Cologne.

I was on the second floor/men's department today (March 7th). I approached Ms. Maruscha, or someone with a similar name, because I needed three pairs of trousers. There was another salesperson with her. Since I don't have a perfect physique and have to try everything on, she immediately and expertly helped me. The trousers she handed me to try on, which she judged by eye, all fit perfectly. I actually wanted to buy jeans, but because of her great, fun advice, I ended up buying three pairs of Pierre Cardin jeans. Now I know where to find trousers that fit well in the future. Galeria, congratulations on having such good salespeople. ANSONS in Bonn doesn't have that. Thanks for that!

Unfortunately, there's only one toilet you can use because all the others are broken. The sanitary facilities are disgusting. As a woman, you have to use the men's room. Even in the toilet that "wasn't broken," three or four urinals had garbage bags taped over as if they were broken. It was truly unpleasant. There's also a locked box where you're supposed to put money for using it, but no staff were around. After that, I lost all desire to shop there and just wanted to leave. Let's not even talk about the parking garage. But if you want to soak your shoes in urine and never find your way out again, then this is the place for you.

Dear Galeria Team, I would like to complain about a very problematic sales practice at your Galeria store at Hohe Str. 41-53, from a customer's perspective. It has been observed on several occasions that highly sought-after Pokémon products are sold in very large quantities to a single individual on their release day. This person apparently buys up the entire available stock for several thousand euros, leaving regular customers with no chance of purchasing even a single product. These items are then resold online at significantly higher prices, exploiting artificial scarcity and high demand. This situation is extremely frustrating for fans, families, and collectors, as they leave empty-handed despite arriving at the store in good time. It also creates the impression that resellers are being given preferential treatment over regular customers. I would therefore suggest that you introduce a quantity limit per person for highly sought-after items, for example, a maximum of one Elite Trainer Box per customer. This would allow more people to purchase products, and your store would simultaneously achieve a greater number of satisfied customers. Experience shows that all the items will be sold anyway – just distributed more fairly. I would appreciate it if you could review this feedback and consider taking appropriate action.

I don't think that's right; it means you don't have a chance to get anything just because someone else got the merchandise through back channels. A purchase limit per person would be better.

I was very disappointed yesterday with Galeria and its parking garage. I parked on the 6th floor and paid "simply and conveniently" using the barcode on my phone. I was with my 15-month-old son and a stroller. According to the parking regulations, I had exactly 3 minutes after paying to leave the garage. 3 minutes to safely buckle my child into the car, stow the shopping bags and stroller, and drive down the spiral ramp from the 6th floor to the ground floor. 3 minutes. I thought I'd made it on time, but of course, the barrier didn't open. I called for help at the intercom, which, by the way, was broken, and the employee was incredibly difficult to understand. He then implied that I hadn't paid at all. That's not true. I had to pay. A back-and-forth ensued with no resolution, and a screaming toddler in the car. I was told to get out and find a pay station. Wow! I was then instructed to pay an additional €2.50. The employee showed absolutely no understanding and didn't seem at all willing to help me. When I contacted Galeria with my, let's call it, official complaint (which, by the way, can only be done in writing), the employee in Cologne wanted to hear my story, only to then tell me: "Yes, you have to fill out the online form and submit the complaint that way." I was appalled and asked the woman if she had listened to my story out of mere curiosity. Well, I filled out the online form and received the following reply the next day: “Hello Ms. XXXXX, Thank you for your message. Our system automatically calculates each started hour. Therefore, we unfortunately have no control over the parking fee. The grace period was exceeded in this case. We therefore recommend that you only pay the parking fee once you have completely finished packing, as this time also counts towards the parking duration. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, GALERIA Parking GALERIA” The written reply contains neither an apology for this unpleasant situation nor any indication of goodwill. The suggestion that I should “only pay after I have completely packed” in the future seems rather customer-oriented. A grace period of only three minutes seems impractical, especially for families. My primary concern here is not the €2.50, but rather service, fairness, and how customers are treated. I expect at least a proper apology, a review of the matter, and a generous refund of the additional fee.

"Aging" is an understatement, I think to myself as I drive into the parking garage. It's Saturday evening after 6 p.m., and I still need wine. I wander aimlessly from the parking garage through some corridors and empty stairwells. I can't find any sensible signage. Actually, I've already lost all motivation to shop. In the basement, in the food department, some parts of the front remind me of a lost place. Yet still comparatively expensive. Or like the set of a WDR production. Only without the actors. In the back, customers have suddenly gathered around a kind of bar and are drinking wine far too loudly for my liking. A man stares into his glass and, as I walk by, keeps slumping off his stool. Bizarre. In the empty wine section, I buy two bottles of what later turns out to be sour red wine. At the checkout, I ask for a discount for parking. No such luck. Somehow, I expected as much. The cashier mumbles something about "another company." I walk out through the empty home goods department. Expensive knives hang forlornly in a display case, Le Creuset gleams silently on the shelf. A few employees stand together, chatting. It all feels surreal. Then I head back through sadly empty stairwells. The parking meter is broken. It doesn't surprise me anymore. But according to the company, every single Galeria branch is profitable. Well, that explains everything.

This parking garage is so disgusting. It smells like a four-week-old corpse that's just been discovered. The smell is comparable to feces, vomit, and urine. I've never experienced anything like it, and I've smelled a lot. It's a miracle my Wiener Schnitzel survived. Please clean the entire parking garage, including the elevator and stairwell. Otherwise, people will actually die from the smell. Thank you.

The store appears tidy and well-organized on all floors, which is unfortunately no longer a given these days. The sales staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would have preferred a more consistent staff presence in the 1. FC Köln fan shop area. However, this assessment is based on only one day so far.

On December 13, 2025, I went to the gallery to buy matte clear nail polish. It was difficult to find the woman at the counter, but after a long wait, she finally came. When I asked if she had matte nail polish, she gestured towards the shelf with the polishes, said she didn't know, and that I could look there. That was very rude. I work as a photographer and needed the polish for a photoshoot where hands were the main focus. It's hard to rely on the service in that store. The temperature is also unbearable. You come in from outside wearing a jacket into a room that's incredibly hot, and you immediately want to get out of that sweltering inferno. I bought the polish at DM (a German drugstore chain) ♥️

I found a suit very quickly yesterday, thanks to the excellent help I received from Finn and Sabine on the second floor. They were both incredibly friendly and took my needs very seriously. I felt very comfortable while they were helping me, and I would definitely want to be served or advised by them again. Fantastic service! 👍🏽

My boyfriend and I witnessed an unpleasant customer situation at the checkout yesterday. A customer stood in front of a long queue at an empty register and was immediately greeted by an employee. When an older woman ahead of us asked if she shouldn't be waiting at the back of the line, the cashier simply replied, "Well, actually, yes," but did nothing to change the situation. The woman at the front then asked something like, "Isn't it unfair that someone is cutting in line?" The woman who had cut in then insulted her, saying she was stressed and shouldn't make such a fuss ☠️🙈. It was already unpleasant enough for everyone that this person was also acting so terribly. But what was really awful was that no one at the register intervened. The cashier at one register remained silent and rang up the customer; the woman who had cut in was treated very politely by the other cashier. She was still blocking the register with her questions when it was our turn (and we were quite far back in the line). ... It would be beneficial to train sales staff to handle such situations confidently. As it was, the way it was handled was simply very unfortunate. A real shame. It was a very unpleasant shopping experience for everyone who was stuck in the long queue and ignored.

Cologne's highest Christmas market. It can get very windy, so dress warmly. The wait at the mulled wine stalls is already very long. There's dance music from a DJ.

Galeries Kaufhof is still highly recommended. It's the best store in the city center. I've known this store for over 50 years, and it's always beautifully decorated, especially around Christmas time, and has lots of great deals. I'm always happy to be able to do everything in person here instead of ordering online. Even when the checkout lines are busy, it's still very quick, and the staff are very friendly.

It's a huge, wonderful indoor shopping mall with all the brands you're looking for, and it's not a store, it's a completely open store. The prices aren't outlet prices, but even slightly higher than those in Türkiye.

Sadly, it's just a shadow of its former self. Partially dirty, broken lights, dark corners. The parking garage is an outrage, and the prices are outrageous. The staff reflects this. Many levels are completely empty. Leave it alone, it's already dead.

Hopefully this department store will still be around in Cologne for the next 50 years! It would be sorely missed otherwise. Downstairs in the market hall, they have fantastic cheese with excellent advice and very friendly people!

Yesterday, on Christmas Day, I spontaneously came for dinner with a friend. We were warmly welcomed, the food was excellent as always, and the fried potatoes were not greasy but nice and crispy with onions and bacon.
