Unfortunately very disappointed steak was ok but salad had almost no dressing. Two waiters ordered more dressing but they apparently didn't feel like or want to add a bit of dressing. Apparently asking too much I like to eat salad but I've never had one like that so only 1 star that could have been avoided can

We went for dinner twice in a row. The food was delicious both times, both meat and vegetarian dishes. In addition, great service, friendly, accommodating, approachable. Unfortunately, you don't find something like this very often. Even the dog was warmly welcomed. Keep it up.

The hall offers a very nice ambience, pleasantly lit and nicely furnished. The service was top. You were served quickly and they always checked to see if everything was okay. Food was very good. The roulades are very tender and tasty. Curd cheese strudel is also great

We were there for the class reunion with 20 people on September 21, 2024. Everything was excellently organized and prepared with coffee. The service staff was friendly and always available. The dinner tasted good and there was nothing wrong with the price. This was the fourth time we've met here and we'd love to come back. Thank you for the good hospitality. The best Franconian cuisine I have eaten so far. The selection of vegetarian dishes is comparatively large and fits in with the rest of the menu. The food comes quickly and is beautifully prepared. Pleasant modern ambience, but I suspect that it gets noisy in the large hall when there is a lot going on. Courteous service - everything was great

Wir waren direkt an zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Abenden hier, was die nachfolgende Beschreibung eigentlich schon überflüssig macht. Hier passt einfach alles. Schön eingerichtetes Lokal mit Biergarten (für den leider nicht das passende Wetter war), die Karte bietet viele lokale Fleischgerichte, aber auch einige kreative vegetarische Gerichte. Der Service war professionell, flott und sehr freundlich. Das Essen war durchweg hervorragend zu, in Anbetracht der Qualität, moderaten Preisen. Note 1 mit Stern.

Wir wurden rausgeworfen, da nicht reserviert und wir uns einfach an einen freien, nicht reservierten Tisch setzten Um 17.30 Uhr versucht telefonisch zu reservieren, ging keiner ran Gegen 18 Uhr einfach rein, welche Anmassung- einfach ne Gaststube zu betreten und dann noch dazu sich an einen, freien nicht reservierten Tisch zu setzen Erste junge weibl. Bedienung hat gefragt ob wir angemeldet wären - Nein - Ist dann noch hinten verschwunden, dort entbrannte ein kurzer heftiger Disbut mir einem männlichen Kollegen. Unangenehm für alle Der Kollege hat uns dann belehrt !! 1. Man muß sich anmelden, irgendwie an anderem Eingang Ansonsten wird man nicht bedient etc 2. Der Eingang, stand nirgendwo darf nicht genommen werden 3. Der Tisch ist reserviert??? Sozusagen Rauswurf. Vor 30 Jahren hätte ich diesem jungen Mann , mit seinen schlechten Manieren konfrontiert Heute im gesetzten Alter - besucht man solche Lokation einfach nicht mehr Pleinfeld und ihre soo schönen Seen 🥱👎 Gibt schönere und saubere Seen In Deutschland mit besseren Lokations

The food is very good and is reasonably priced. Even as a new guest you will be called by the staff, which doesn't really go down well with guests who are obviously pensioners... The atmosphere in the old building is very attractive and cozy, but in the annex (hall) it is very loud. The more people there are talking, the louder you have to speak, which makes it less comfortable. Nice outside area.

Very tasty and fine food! We are positively thrilled and will 100% come back again and again 👍🏼 Chanterelles highly recommended! The chanterelle cream soup was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, the conditions didn't take much time. Processing on the assembly line. Unfortunately you can only reserve a table for either 5 or 7 p.m. Food better than last year. Back then I also felt more valued as a guest.

First of all, a great location! Unfortunately, the reception was a bit cold and unfriendly, even though we had reserved. As a starter we had pretzel dumpling carpaccio and a salad, followed by a very tasty Schäuffele and a veal roll roast with dumplings. We ordered white cabbage with it. Everything was honestly delicious. Service quick and very friendly. Priced in the upper midfield. Highly recommended.

We were guests at the Kastanienhof on our summer vacation. We were 6 adults and 6 children. Our table was set in the tastefully decorated interior. Despite the high number of visitors, the service was great and very friendly. Especially recommended for families. The children's food was served first. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. We have rarely been served such good, high quality food at a fair price. A big compliment to the kitchen and the great service. We'll definitely come back at some point.

A good restaurant with very good food Side salad was great Fresh chanterelles with Bavarian dumplings were a lot and also something to behold. Cordonbleu with fries was very juicy but a little weakly seasoned. The building is getting old and needs some TLC. Flagpoles should be a figurehead but they are also more than just neglected. But otherwise all in all it was a great evening with good and fresh food.

The staff was a bit strange because I came alone and without a reservation, that was more of a problem, otherwise very satisfied, good food, and the Franconian schnapps is recommended.

The starter was liver dumpling soup and then a very tasty Schäuffele. My son had baked Camembert and crème brûlée for dessert. Everything is honestly delicious. Service quick and very friendly. Priced in the middle range. The ambience is also really nice. We recommend.

The restaurant is modernly furnished. The toilets are also modern and clean. The staff is very friendly. The food is very tasty and attractively prepared. Many high chairs are available for small children. There are also a lot of children's meals to choose from. Definitely recommended.

Very tasty and very good service

We sat in the beer garden with a lot of people that evening and the atmosphere was quite nice. When my son got the children's meal, the waiter said that he should get started because the other meal "would take an hour to be ready anyway" (shaming the restaurant you work at is probably not that good of a skill). There was no vegan dish on the menu, so we politely asked the young waiter (black hair, short, slim) if they had anything vegan and they got a rude answer and a long explanation as to why they no longer offer vegan food. No alternative was offered, but "vegetables without sauce", which was obviously not meant seriously and the waiter just made inappropriate comments about my daughter eating vegan, which pretty much embarrassed her. Additionally, another man at our table was treated strangely by the waiter because he ordered a salad. I think that as a waiter it is very inappropriate to comment on someone's eating habits, he has clearly crossed the line and the waiter's humor cannot be understood by everyone either.

I HAVE READ THIS IN SEVERAL REVIEWS!! We kindly pointed out to Sue that the waiting time was very long, but she became loud and rounded on us. Disgraceful behavior. Six of us were at the Kastanienhof Essen today. Apparently we hadn't made a reservation and were complained about, even though we called in the afternoon. After a short discussion we finally got a table. After asking several times, we received the menu after 30 minutes. After another 40 minutes we were finally able to order (again after asking several times). Another 50 minutes passed after we finally got our food. The food was very good. After asking several times to pay, we were finally able to pay after another 30 minutes of waiting. After we mentioned this to the waiter, we were told loudly that they had served 230 people and that it couldn't be done any faster. It's the holidays after all. The waiting time would have been okay, but I found the waiter's reaction to be bottomless. I can't help it that it was full today. An apology or a drink would have been more appropriate and not a lecture about how stressful he was today. Apparently the guest is not valued here. We won't eat here anymore. Hospitality looks completely different. I've worked in this area for years myself, I know how stressful it can be, but I've never complained to a guest!

Best restaurant in Pleinfeld and the surrounding area with excellent food and friendly service. The homemade lemonade is also very good.

We didn't make a reservation on a Saturday in the summer, the whole house was full, there was also a wedding and only the beer garden was still free, but still reserved. They then moved back and forth and still allowed us to eat there. It tasted fantastic, the atmosphere was great, the service was great and the price was totally right. We will definitely come by again when we are in Pleinfeld, only then of course with registration :-)

First of all, the food was great in terms of taste and quantity. What bothered me was that there were only two dumplings with the Schäufle and no red cabbage. That's just part of it, hence the point deduction. The beer garden is great and the food went relatively quickly. Unfortunately, the beer garden was not divided into non-smoking and smoking areas, so we kept getting the blue haze from the neighboring table for free with our food. If you're expecting a quiet beer garden, you're in the wrong place. A train thunders past every few minutes and the street is very busy, but I didn't include that in my rating.

The food was always delicious and the service was exemplary.

Very stylish inn in the holiday area. The advantage is that it is open on Mondays. Bratwurst with very tasty potato salad is recommended.

A nice restaurant in a central location. Lots of seating and still a cozy atmosphere. Fast, friendly service and delicious Franconian food. Personally, the homemade spaetzle was too fried for me, so I gave it 3/5 stars. The sauerbraten was a 5/5, which for me makes the food an average of 4/5 stars. I enjoyed it and will definitely come back. From my experience, a reservation is recommended.
