wir hatten online reserviert und um ein schattiges Biergartenplätzchen gebeten - das hat wunderbar funktioniert, Reservierung wurde online bestätigt, wir wurden freundlich empfangen, der Service ist zuvorkommend, freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Biergarten ist schön schattig. Das Essen war sehr lecker, eine große Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken. Die Sanitärräume waren sauber. Preis/Leistung ist nicht günstig, aber angemessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker! Das Knödel-Trio kann ich voll und Ganz empfehlen! :-) Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl an Gerichten. Die Wartezeit war zufriedenstellend. Die Getränke kamen binnen weniger Minuten. Beim Schnitzel und den Kindergerichten wäre eine grüne Salatgarnitur noch wünschenswert. Auch das ein Tisch das Essen zusammen bekommt wäre schön. Falls wir mal wieder in der Gegend sind kommen wir gern wieder mal vorbei.

Waren zu zweit hier und haben auch ohne Reservierubg noch einen Tisch bekommen. Das mit Abstand beste Essen das wir seit langen hatten. Sehr zu Empfehlen.

wir waren zum wiederholten Male hier essen. Das Essen schmeckt immer super Lecker und ist schön angerichtet. Allerdings waren wir diesmal mit dem Service nicht zufrieden. Die Kinder haben teilweise zuletzt ihr essen erhalten. Die Servicekräfte hat man nur schwer verstanden aufgrund ihrer Aussprache.

Waren heute Abend zum ersten Durchgang der Tischreservirungen im Biergarten mit sieben Leuten. Diese Rezession muss ich aufteilen in zwei Teile. Das erste betrifft das Essen. Alle Essen waren top. Auf den Punkt und schnell am Tisch, obwohl der Biergarten nahezu voll belegt war. Der zweite Teil betrifft die Art des Zeitmanagment für den Gast Nachdem die Teller vom leckeren Essen vom Tisch waren, wurden wir nach Dessert und oder Kaffee gefragt und diese wurden teilweise auch angenommen. Kurz vor 19 Uhr die Frage nach einem weiteren Getränk, welche auch teilweise angenommen wurden. Acht Minuten später kam dann der Kellner und forderte uns auf, zu bezahlen, obwohl die Online Reservierung bis 19.30 ausgewiesen war. Nach kurzer Disskussion beugten wir uns der Zahlungsaufforderung und quatschen eben auf dem Parkplatz weiter. Nun die Frage an den Betreiber: Warum werden wir vor Reservierungsende zur Zahlung aufgefordert, um später vom Parkplatz aus zu sehen, das nach 19.30 Uhr immer noch einige freie Plätze im Biergarten für sieben Leute waren. Vielleicht sollte Ihnen das zu denken geben, auch wenn man nichts negatives gegen Ihre Küche und das Essen sagen kann. Trotzdem nur 2 Sterne

Sehr gute bürgerlich-fränkische Küche! Große Portionen zu einem fairen Preis! Hat sehr lecker geschmeckt (Sauerbraten & Schäufele). Reservierung mindestens einen Tag im Voraus erfordern, wir hatten Glück gestern da war gleich um 17 Uhr essen wollten.

Wir waren angenehm überrascht. Das Essen, der Service waren überragend, haben sofort wieder einen Tisch reserviert.

Wir waren das erste Mal im Kastanienhof, und das war bestimmt nicht das letzte mal. Der Service/Mitarbeiter sind alle sehr nett und freundlich. Hatten kein Tisch reserviert und haben dann auch einen bekommen. Denke es ist besser wenn man vorher einen Tisch reserviert. Das Essen was auf dem Teller serviert wurde, war einsame spitze!!! Von der Vorspeise bis zur Hauptspeise war alles perfekt. Da gibt’s nichts zu meckern. Der Sauerbraten ist der Hit, hab noch nie so einen leckeren gegessen und die Knödel erst- Hammer. Das gleiche kann man auch vom Schweine Braten sagen- Top !! Wenn wir noch mal in der Nähe sind und hier wieder Urlaub machen kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder vorbei.

15 Minuten gewartet ohne einen Platz zu bekommen

Gehobene Gastronomie. Geschmacklich toll.

Waren am Ostersonntag mit 8 Personen Essen. Leider muss ich mich diversen Rezensionen anschließen und zwar z.b zum Thema "Fertigsoße". Hatte einen Spanferkelbraten mit Klößen. Die Hälfte des Bratens war Fett, konnte ich nicht essen, eklig. Die Soße war enttäuschend. Standard Bratensoße, Gefro? Schmeckt jedenfalls so. 100% nicht selbstgemacht. Noch ein negativer Punkt ist der Preis! Ich war wirklich schockiert. 18€ für Spanferkel, 22€ für Sauerbraten und fast 30€ für den Zwiebelrostbraten? Wir hatten all diese Gerichte am Tisch und niemand war begeistert. Tiefkühl Rösti beim Zwiebelrostbraten... lieblos. Absolut lieblos. Für !30€! will ich keinen Tk Müll. Und die Portion war sehr mickrig. Fleisch war ok. Leider auch Fertigsoße. Die Hälfte von uns hatte noch Hunger nachdem wir aufgegessen haben. Alles in allem war es nicht gut, leider. Ihr müsst dringend was am Preis und an den Speisen machen.

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe am Ostersonntag dort essen. Die Location ist wunderschön Und modern (Saal) Leider stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht ganz. Wir hatten Cordon bleu, welches ausreichend groß war, um satt zu werden. Allerdings war das nicht bei den Bräten der Fall. Zwei Scheiben Fleisch für den Preis sind einfach zu wenig! Wenn das angepasst wird, kann ich die Location wirklich empfehlen. Sie ist besonders im Sommer auch sehr schön zum draußen sitzen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portionsgröße adäquat und die Preise sind noch nicht so horrend gestiegen, wie anderswo. Ein Rehbraten mit Knödeln für etwas über 20 Euro ist wirklich in Ordnung. Der fehlende Stern beim Ambiente ist der Situation geschuldet. Ich glaube, an Sylvester in einem Saal ist es schwer, wirklich die volle Anzahl zu bekommen - aber ihr wart sehr nah dran. Wenn es nicht so weit wäre, käme ich sicherlich öfter vorbei.

Today, Christmas Day, we had dinner here with the family. What can I say? Atmosphere: Excellent Service: Excellent Price/performance ratio: absolutely fair. The onion roast beef is definitely in my top three dishes I've ever had. We'll be back.

Excellent, honest Franconian cuisine at perfectly reasonable prices. Friendly and prompt service. A slightly more upscale atmosphere than a traditional inn, but they don't focus on appearances. Everyone receives a warm welcome. The 45-minute walk was more than worth it.

I went to the Kastanienhof again with my sister after almost a year...and I have to say it was very good...we had roast beef with onions and beef roulade...both were excellent...the salad also had a very good dressing...I will definitely come again.

The food was delicious and the service friendly. However, we prefer the old restaurant; it's much more cozy than the large hall.

We ate at Kastanienhof yesterday for the second and, unfortunately, last time. I ordered a salmon fillet, which I didn't like. The salmon itself was fine, but I personally didn't like the sauce that came with it; it was very over-seasoned and overpowering in combination with the salmon. When the waiter asked me if everything was okay as I walked by, I had food in my mouth at the time, so I didn't respond. When the waiter cleared the plates, I politely declined when asked if he should pack my leftovers (a good three-quarters of the plate) and said I didn't like it. The waiter responded indignantly, and above all in a very loud and unfriendly tone, asking what was wrong. I then simply said that I personally didn't like the sauce, but that it was okay now. He then said again, very loudly and rudely, that I should have said something earlier when he asked if everything was okay. I then replied again that it was okay now, as I personally found it very unpleasant that the waiter was so loud, as the other guests in the room had already turned around to look at us. It wasn't a problem at all that the food didn't meet my personal taste, but the waiter's inappropriate reaction is the reason we won't be visiting this restaurant again in the future.

We were here last night with our little girls. The place was completely packed, including the wedding party. Nevertheless, after a short wait, we were given a spot. It's great when the waiters and staff still have so much heart and passion. The food was very good, the service excellent, and the atmosphere was a bit loud, but that was probably due to the loud crowd. A highlight is the view from outside into the kitchen area. Very clean and exciting for the kids. We'll definitely be back.

Friendly, fast service – drinks and food arrived promptly at the table. Unfortunately, the Schäuferle (pork shoulder) was only lukewarm when served. The meat quickly got cold on the cold plate, which was a shame, as the dumplings and sauce were really good. The room where we were seated feels a bit chilly and is quite noisy, which doesn't exactly make the atmosphere any more cozy. Overall, it was solid, but I would have expected a bit more at this price point – perhaps the restaurant was only partially open that day.

We called spontaneously on a Saturday evening and wanted a table for 8 people. After waiting for just under an hour, we got a table. This was perfectly acceptable for us, considering the day of the week, the number of people, and our short notice. The food was delicious and the atmosphere incredibly cozy. We'd especially like to highlight the super friendly staff, which is unfortunately a rarity these days. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work!

We asked for a quiet spot on Sunday evening. The waitress at the entrance to the beer garden had a stone face, meaning he wasn't even slightly (friendly) about the guests arriving! It was incredibly loud in the large hall at the back, and we asked for a quiet table at the edge. This request was declined on the grounds that four or six more guests COULD arrive and take up the table. There were two tables of six that were completely empty half an hour before the kitchen closed. Hospitality is different, and here it's very dependent on the staff present! What a shame!

Everything is just right here. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.

The food is delicious. There are classics like schnitzel, but also many other dishes like salmon teriyaki style or pretzel dumpling carpaccio. It's also great for vegetarians. I don't know if there are any vegan options. The service is excellent. Nice, refined, but not too fancy. The atmosphere was also very friendly to our children. It's good value for money. It would be nice if there were a small play area for children.

Highly recommended! Unfortunately, I only photographed the appetizer (pretzel dumpling carpaccio with salad and balsamic dressing)! The main course was a vegetable schnitzel with spaetzle, mushrooms, and a cream sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Beautiful outdoor area and prompt service! Three of us went for dinner at the beginning of September during the school holiday season. They offer two dining options: 5:00-7:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. onward. We went at 5:00 p.m. and it was packed! The service and kitchen did a great job, but the cream sauce for the chanterelle mushrooms was curry (not listed on the menu) was a disappointment.

Great food, but the service left a lot to be desired. It started out great, with the food arriving at the same time and constant checks to see if everything was okay. Then we sat for 25 minutes with empty glasses, and the dessert menu never arrived. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, and there were enough wait staff on site. So, there's no tipping.

My very first impression upon arrival was that the service in the beer garden was a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests. We had to wait a bit longer to be shown to our reserved table and finally served. BUT: as I said, that was only the first impression. The food was simply a 12/10 (from the appetizer to dessert, everything was simply delicious and beautifully presented), and the waiter who was in charge of our table was very attentive to our needs. A big thank you to him, and the ambiance of the beer garden is also really great. Bottom line: we'll definitely be back 👍.

We last visited Kastanienhof in 2019. The food was already very good back then, and it's honestly a shame I have to drive 300 km to eat here. This time, too, the meal was fantastic! We had shoulder of pork with dumplings! The salads are also delicious! Men and women can go there because it's delicious 😉

The Kastanienhof in Pleinfeld is our favorite place for truly good German cuisine! Whether you're just a spontaneous visit with eight people or just two, there's always a seat right away and no wait. The food is homemade, honest, and incredibly delicious. My highlight was the venison – tender and incredibly good! The service is super friendly and always has a quick quip ready. If you're not happy here, you simply have no taste. Absolutely recommended!

Unfortunately, it's not as good as in previous years. The food was mediocre, very bland, and seasoned without refinement. The service was at times completely inexperienced or indifferent. Although we had a reservation for the outdoor area, we had to sit in the non-air-conditioned indoor area. Minutes later, the beer garden was "opened" again. Seating here is probably also tactical. There are many good restaurants around Lake Brombach, so we will definitely look for an alternative for the next few years.

The food itself tastes delicious. However, on Easter Monday, seven of us went there for a family meal. Five of us felt less well. Vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. (Everyone who ate a dish with sauce.) When we called to give feedback, the manager couldn't even bring herself to say "sorry." She came across as rather arrogant and smug. I don't know what was worse, the food or the reaction.

The food was very good and of high quality. We sat in the beer garden, slightly elevated but located on the street. Our server was often very careful not to look at us. Despite plenty of free tables in the beer garden, people were turned away or only given 1.5-hour slots to eat. This was a challenge given the service.

We never even got to dinner. The entrance was a rude and annoyed experience, even though the place was almost empty. Guests approached us and told us they'd rarely experienced such inconvenience and unfriendliness. The waiter obviously enjoys giving guests the worst seats in the blazing sun, even though the place was empty.
