We spontaneously stopped in for lunch before a concert. The service was super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. The food was excellent. The rump steak was cooked to perfection, the fried potatoes were super tasty, and the fried vegetables were still crisp. We'd be happy to come back and would recommend it anytime.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, but unfortunately, the taste fell a bit short of expectations. The fish was well prepared, but the vegetables were a bit bland, and the salad wasn't washed thoroughly – that shouldn't happen at this price range. Overall, it lacks a bit of seasoning and finesse. Three stars for the friendly service and effort, but with a little more care, this could have been much better.

Given the name "Kartoffelkiste" (Potato Box), we would have expected perfectly served potato dishes, but unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. Fried potatoes and meatloaf were dripping with fat. Half of the potatoes were burnt and half weren't browned. The restaurant was empty, so the quality was not to be expected. This was poor cafeteria quality, and we won't be coming back.

Yesterday, four of us visited the Kartoffelkiste and discovered that we were very well looked after from start to finish. Extremely friendly and attentive service, delicious dishes, and a lovely atmosphere. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return.

We were at the Kartoffelkiste with a group of 20 people and had a wonderful evening. The service was excellent. You can tell they're a well-coordinated team. Everyone received their food almost at the same time. Large portions, a wide selection, and great flavor. Thank you for everything. We would definitely come back when we're in Cottbus.

Restaurant with delicious potato dishes in the center of Cottbus

We ate at the Kartoffelkiste yesterday, September 10, 2025. All the dishes were okay, but with the grilled meat, they didn't ask if they wanted the meat cooked medium or medium-rare. To get straight to the point, the meat was cooked through. It's a shame, otherwise, everything was fine. We'll be back for lunch on December 25, 2025.

I had fried potatoes with meatloaf for about €15. A drink with it for €4-5 was okay. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. on weekends, and the restrooms are not accessible for people with disabilities. Otherwise, we would gladly come back. Unfortunately, the delicious food was already sold out by 8:30 p.m.

If you want to eat at the Kartoffelkiste, you should pre-order. We were lucky because we got there early. The service was very friendly and attentive. Despite the large crowd, the food arrived quickly and at the same time for everyone. Blankets were available for the cold. The dishes were very tasty and offered good value for money.

Caution: Steps. While we were eating, two women fell down the stairs, which were already lit and had warning signs.

Located in the heart of the city. Had a fantastic meal on Friday, August 22, 2025. The "house special" pan dish was absolutely fantastic. I was back on the 23rd and was disappointed by the potato pancakes. They seemed reheated and covered in a lot of oil. The waiter was the epitome of excellence. His comment was that you can't please anyone these days. That was a no-go.

Always worth recommending. Friendly service, delicious schnitzel. I always eat the same thing ;-) But the menu features delicious variations of different potato preparations. The restaurant has been an institution in the Spremberg region for years, so it must be good. Keep it up, and thumbs up.

Despite being centrally located in the heart of the city, you can have a pleasant, quiet conversation. It's always a bit difficult to get a seat at lunchtime, but if you arrive early or arrive a little after lunchtime, you'll get one.

Cottbus a service desert? Absolutely not here! We were here twice in the evenings and received very friendly and welcoming service. We went to this restaurant for dinner based on a recommendation and didn't regret it. The interior is quaint and very cozy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. As the name suggests, the food revolves around potatoes. The prices are perfectly reasonable for the portion size and the taste; everyone will definitely be satisfied here. I had potato soup without sausage for starters, which was well-seasoned and had a perfect consistency. The main course was schnitzel with egg and very good fried potatoes; we haven't had such good fried potatoes in a long time. My wife had potato bruschetta for starters, a very good idea and extremely well-seasoned. Plus, delicious beer and a shandy. All in all, a clear recommendation. We went for dinner during the week; it's a busy restaurant; reserving a table is probably advisable on weekends.

The themed dishes satisfied my taste buds. The food was phenomenal, besides my fried meat soaked in unhealthy fat (which was divine), they gave me a salad mix that completely satisfied my taste buds. We had a conversation with the waiters without any tension, almost as if we had known each other for 10 years. At the end, the waiter, full of selflessness and kindness, gave me a foil-wrapped sweet that gave me just enough sugar. I will almost certainly return to this place with pleasure, as the fond memories pull me back. I warmly recommend the fried meat with croquettes to everyone. The Kartoffelkiste in Korpus serves down-to-earth, home-style cooking, unfortunately mostly made from convenience foods. The schnitzel: wafer-thin, deep-fried, bone-dry – typical convenience food. The asparagus was overcooked; if he'd known what to expect, he probably wouldn't have bothered to pick it in the first place. A well-known problem, but a shame nonetheless. The hollandaise sauce also clearly came from a packet. Pros: The service was excellent – ​​very attentive, friendly, and dedicated. Okay for fans of convenience foods, but for me, this will be a one-time visit.

We ate there on a Friday evening – we had a reservation. We got our table quickly and were able to place our order without any hassle. The food was also ready very quickly. We had kumpir and steak ou four. It was delicious and looked good too. The wait staff checked in regularly to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything else. They were never intrusive. We ate here for the first time and didn't regret it. It was a bit noisy, and the open door made our seat a bit drafty. But otherwise, it was a very enjoyable and enjoyable evening.

Great! We used the delivery date on Christmas Day and we were very satisfied. The food came on time and was handed over by a very friendly employee. The portions were very generous, the food was hot and deliciously prepared despite the aluminum dish. We have the goose legs, the dumplings and also the red cabbage. The waiter couldn't understand our disappointment and deliberately treated us unprofessionally and without empathy in front of all the guests.
