Our favorite restaurant in Cottbus. Superb food and service.

In this place they are racists and they dont want to work!! We arrived 20.04 hrs when we have a reservation for 20hrs and they didn’t want to give us the table justifying that we were late.. at the same time there was another family that just arrived like us. And they were able to sit but we not. Can somebody tell me what was the difference? Insane there are still people that because you are brunette and not blonde they don’t look at you properly. I hope this place close someday

I once had a meal there with my son. It was very tasty, friendly and we didn't have to wait long. The atmosphere was very cozy. I've been eating there regularly since then and if I can't make it, it's no problem to be able to take it with me.

Despite not having a reservation, we were offered seats for 2 hours. Very friendly, attentive and competent service. Diverse map. Very good cuisine. Very large portions. Very good value for money.

We were first in Cottbus and ended up in the potato crate. The waiter was a blast 🤩. We sat outside and ate seasonal pumpkin dishes, it was so delicious. Our furry friend was also thought of and a water bowl was brought out. We haven't had such friendly staff in a long time and delicious food too. We'll definitely come back 👍

There is only 1 vegan dish and other vegetarian dishes. There are large portions that fill you up. Just very expensive.

Cozy restaurant with very good food

Already very overpriced. For a bit of pollack fillet, where the breading doesn't necessarily taste good, a blob of white cabbage salad and greasy fried potatoes (which have ham cubes in them without it being declared) almost 20€. Meat dishes are also outrageously expensive. If you have too much money, you can probably eat here, otherwise probably not.

The food was really great. It had been a long time since we had been to the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive, always asking whether everything is OK and responding to the wishes and needs of the guests. The potato crate is really lovingly furnished, which makes you feel very at home

Solid restaurant with a pleasantly manageable offering - which is often suspiciously large in comparable stores. Fresh food, schnitzel, absolutely not Viennese schnitzel, but no one claims that, so absolutely fine. For fans of large portions of high-calorie foods. There's a different way to do it cleverly, but if you're really hungry, it's definitely doable. Nice staff, clean atmosphere.

We were there before an event in the town hall. The service was great, everything went quickly. The food was also delicious for everyone, except for my side salad, I wish it had been dressed a bit. It was just the leaves without dressing without anything. Too bad. My partner's coleslaw, however, was very good. We would come back at any time. Really very friendly service. Great!!!

Wir waren hier zum Abendessen. Kaum Platz genommen, wurde auch schon ein Wasser für unseren kleinen Vierbeiner serviert. Ein ausgezeichneter, freundlicher Service, der den weiteren Abend auch bei den „zweibeinigen“ Gästen nichts zu wünschen übrig ließ. Das Essen war sehr gut und lecker, in einem schönen Ambiente. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen.

A very nice restaurant and good offer. But unfortunately also something very negative. Ashtrays were served at lunch and we were smoked while eating. Something like that doesn't work at all.

The quality has improved tremendously. You can tell, especially with the blonde employee, that she enjoys her job. I can only recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thanks & keep it up!!!!

I had a rump steak with fried onions. The meat was medium but tough as a shoe sole, the onions only saw the pan for a few seconds, they weren't fried but just glazed. For 32.50 you can expect better. The waitress was very rude and only partially friendly OK, one box of potatoes is enough for life

Nice place, friendly staff, totally delicious food. No long waiting times and despite a good number of visitors, we often found space for two spontaneously. Anyone who likes to eat potatoes should definitely stop by here and let the variety melt in your mouth. Dishes not listed below that are recommended: energy tuber, hearty pan (people who are prone to heartburn take Bullrich salt with you). For a small fee, you can take the unfinished food home with you. Always people from the surrounding area come here to dine here.🥔♥️

We were on holiday in the Spreewald and simply gave the potato box a try because of the good reviews so far. We can only confirm this! Nice atmosphere, very friendly and quick service staff and very tasty, especially rich dishes. The menu is extensive and has something to suit every taste.

We were in the potato crate yesterday, May 18, 2024. The waitress ignored us and when we took our jackets and wanted to leave, we were told that she had come straight to us. We sat down again because we were really hungry for the selected dishes. The guests at our next table were also treated this way. Creepy. We ordered the Mediterranean chicken breast fillet and the pike perch fillet. With the chicken breast fillet, the side dishes (rosemary potatoes and vegetables) were so drowned in oil that the entire plate was a swimming pool of oil. The pike perch fillet was good, but the vegetables were drowned in a light, mushy sauce with no taste and the mashed potatoes were too salty. How the good reviews come about here is beyond my knowledge. I will not recommend this restaurant.

We have been here several times this year. It was really great every time. The food is very, very tasty, of course the prices are no longer what they were a few years ago, but they can't do that either. The service is always very nice, the atmosphere is great and the food is outstanding. We'll definitely be back!

Very inviting restaurant. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, the food does not meet the expectations I have of a specialty restaurant. The fried potatoes were burnt. The Spreewald tuber was cold and there was a lot of water in the shell. Well thought, poorly done.

After we placed our order, the service was “lowercase” for us, otherwise the food was great.

The food was too salty and too fried. We bought nugets and Schnitzel, but we didn't like it. Spezial menu presentation is nice, soup, vegetables etc. but it is not satisfying. We would like to thank the staff who are very respectful and caring towards children.

Very wonderful restaurant where you immediately feel at home, great mix of traditional, rustic and modern. Very good service, very friendly and attentive staff. The food was simply delicious, the sweet potato pan with fresh vegetables was very well prepared and tasted wonderful. The portions are definitely for good eaters although you can also get smaller portions upon request.

We were there today (two adults and two children). Without making a reservation, we were still able to find a place on Tuesday evening. There is a children's menu where children can also paint. We ordered hearty pan and kumpir with chicken. Everything was very delicious. The service was also great.

Ich war am 13. 4 Cottbus besuchen. Da es ein angenehmer Tag war beschloß ich in der Kartoffelkiste etwas zu essen. Ich saß draußen, und bestellte mir ein Bier und ein Bauerfrühstück. Also das war nun nicht der große Bringer, Kartoffel waren nicht groß gebraten, und Speck und Zwiebel habe ich mit der Lupe gesucht. Die Gurke hatte auch schon bessere Tage hinter sich, ließ ich liegen. Nee, tut mir leid das war dann einmal nix und muss nicht wiederholt werden.

"Feed like a mother's" was on the agenda for us... we looked for German cuisine, we found a potato box. Great restaurant, nice service, good food (!) As we all know, your eyes eat with you. After a short wait we quickly got a table, ordering went quickly and the food arrived after about 8 minutes... Any time again when we visit Cottbus.

Super delicious food with potatoes in every variation imaginable. There are both classic dishes and modern creations. Everything is clean and well maintained. The staff is super friendly. Everything is priced moderately. There are also a variety of purely vegan dishes. All in all it was a perfect visit there. 👍

Pike perch fillet with creamed savoy cabbage and potato and beetroot mash - beautifully prepared and very tasty. In general, the menu is very diverse, with potatoes being present in all dishes, sometimes more, sometimes less - depending on your taste. A highly recommended restaurant with a rustic style and friendly service 👍
