I happened upon it by chance during my lunch break, and I can only say: I was lucky! I received a very friendly, warm, and polite welcome, something I rarely experience in a kebab shop. It doesn't feel like a "stall" either; you just enjoy sitting down in the cozy restaurant. As always, I ordered a kebab (a rotisserie pie), whole and spicy, so I can compare prices quite easily. The kebab was excellent, and I'll be happy to try something different on my next visit. Great, keep it up!

Look, just trust me. I'm really very objective when it comes to food. For me, this is the best kebab in Essen. I can't think of anything that could be better. The meat and bread are 10/10, and the salad is super fresh. The staff are always extremely cool. You wouldn't know if you haven't been there yet. It's so under the radar, amazing. Great work!

Absolutely loved Kartal kebab! The kebab is simply very tasty - fresh salad, juicy meat and homemade sauces ensure a really intense taste experience. I particularly liked the crispy texture of the meat, which is grilled on a vertical spit. The Iskender Kebab is also a highlight! I think it's great that you can add extras as desired. The staff is really friendly, relaxed and accommodating - you feel really welcome here. For me a very tasty kebab, clear recommendation!

Dear people, I'm really surprised at how my kebab tasted, the bread was indescribable, the salad was fresh, the meat wasn't too dry and not too fatty. Try it out for yourself!! I drove 30 km to try the kebab and it was worth it 👍

Update November 27, 2024 I was here for the first time three years ago and since then my husband or I have been coming regularly to pick up kebabs etc. I always like to try something new every now and then and today I tried the Baba Döner for the first time. It's super tasty. I will definitely eat this more often. 😋 I was there on Friday evening because I wanted to try this snack bar. I rarely ate Turkish food except for one kebab sandwich. The kebab plate was then recommended to me and my husband and I enjoyed it. I will probably take something from there more often. The first attempt convinced me.👍👍👍

Kartal Döner has been our favorite restaurant for years. Even as a child, I always ate my kebab there. Even after moving, even after over 10 years, we still come here to eat. We love the food, the people and the atmosphere, just a piece of home for us.

One of the best kebab shops I've ever eaten at in Essen. There is a very large and great facility on site that invites you to dine on site. You can sit both inside and outside. The menu with offers is very large and you can watch directly as the food or the order is prepared. The only drawback I have is that the prices are really expensive for the food you get. Here's an example: Döner plate plus soft drink comes to around €16. I found that very expensive considering I wasn't completely full.

I've been to Kartal Döner Essen several times now and each time I've been warmly greeted with a smile. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly. The portions are generous, and although the curry sauce could be a little thicker, that's more of a high level criticism and in no way detrimental to the overall rating.

Hello, it was the first time at Kartal Döner.. Personally, I didn't like the lamb/turkey version 100%. I'm more of a classic fan of Yaprak kebab. The addition of sumac and pepperoni, on the other hand, put me in a positive mood. Best regards

I tried the “Baba Döner” which was suggested to me. The “Baba Döner” is served with kebab salad instead of the traditional salad, as is traditionally offered in Turkey. The salad is made with parsley, onions and pomegranate syrup. The slightly sour aroma gives the kebab a very nice note. I liked it very much. The meat was also cooked perfectly. Only in the old reviews does the owner state that veal and turkey are mixed in the kebab skewer. However, in the more recent pictures you can see “Nooo Chicken” again and again. I would be happy if the owner wrote feedback about what types of meat are in the skewer. All in all, it tasted very good and I would come again.

Mega toller Laden, leckerer dönerteller und sehr sympathische Mitarbeiter!

Wir sind extra über 500km aus Berlin angereist um endlich im Original "Party Bruder" Ambiente einen dönerteller verspeisen zu dürfen wie damals die Jungs vor einer durchgefeierten nacht. Am Ziel unserer Reise wurden wir überschwänglich begrüßt als wären wir alte Bekannte oder jahrelang verschollene söhne. Mit Einer mir zuvor unbekannten Gastfreundschaft bewirtete man uns als wären wir halb verhungerte Reisende die am königlichen Hof Zuflucht gewährt bekommen. Der überdimensionale Teller voller Köstlichkeiten füllte unsere von der Reise ausgezerrten Mägen bis zum Rand. Als i-tüpfelchen bekamen wir nach der Mahlzeit den besten çay der europäischen kontinentalplatte serviert. Nach einem ausgiebigen Plausch wurden wir noch mit Wegzehrung beschenkt und in die wunderschönen Straßen der europametropole Essen entlassen. An diesem Tag wurde meine verloren geglaubte Hoffnung in die Menschheit wiederhergestellt. Ich habe wirklich noch nie eine solche Herzlichkeit von einem fremden menschen erfahren. Mit einem Gefühl der Dankbarkeit und Herzenswärme erfüllt durften wir noch am gleichen Nachmittag wieder in den Zug Richtung Berlin steigen, alle unsere Erwartungen wurden um Längen übertroffen. Es gibt keine ausreichenden Worte um diesem großartigen Erlebnis annähernd gerecht zu werden. Aber eins ist sicher: wir kommen wieder!! 🙏🧿

Immer wieder der beste Iskender Kebab auf der Altendorfer! Leider aber ohne Vorspeisen oder Brot wie in den ganzen anderen Läden. Edit: 2.1.2021 Ich bin weiterhin begeistert und es gibt auf Nachfrage immer Brot und Tee. War selbst Schuld nie gefragt zu haben. Edit: 19.12.23 Immer noch der beste Laden, die Karte wurde etwas angepasst und der neue Baba Döner ist einfach genial Der Iskender, ein Traum, wurde mir am Tisch mit frisch aufgeschäumter Butter übergossen *göttlich* Der Spieß besteht übrigens nur aus guten Scheiben Fleisch und ist komplett ohne Hack 👌

Nach einer sehr langen und erfolglosen Suche nach einem guten Döner sind wir auf Kartal Döner aufmerksam geworden. Wir haben dem Restaurant auf Grund der vielen positiven Rezensionen eine Chance gegeben und was soll man sagen?! Wir haben es auf keinen Fall bereut. Mein Mann und ich wurden herzlichst empfangen und uns wurde im Anschluss türkischer Tee (aufs Haus) angeboten. Das Essen, der Service und das Ambiente sind super ❤️ gerne wieder
