The restaurant is known for its "Oriental Journey," featuring nine different specialties from various Middle Eastern countries, from Turkey to Afghanistan, and from the Black Sea coast to Saudi Arabia, as well as the entire northern coastal region of Africa. The dishes are as diverse as the countries themselves, yet always carefully curated to complement each other. You're first offered a tasting plate and then select your main course from it. You can eat as much as you like. The dessert is also worth trying. The ambiance is functional and rather understated, but perfectly acceptable. Dogs are welcome, but be aware that space can be a bit limited. The acoustics in the restaurant are unfortunately somewhat loud. However, all in all, it's a good restaurant for a pleasant evening with friends or even on your own.

However, the seating in the room is tight, and when all the tables are occupied, it quickly becomes loud and hot. But the food is delicious, and we'd be happy to come back.

Unique. The idea is that you get nine oriental dishes to try (changes every two weeks) and can then reorder up to three of the ones you like as slightly larger portions. You can do this as often as you like, and the menu changes. This way, you don't overeat anything you don't like. There are also a few "standard dishes" for people who just want to go along but aren't confident about trying oriental food. The nine dishes are also available in vegetarian options. The two iced teas, Casablanca and Jaffa, are also great.

We were here for the first time. Incredibly delicious, fast and friendly service, and something for everyone! Taste first, then order until you're full! And they even had table confetti for the wedding anniversary!

We recently visited the Karawane after friends had praised the restaurant so highly. Unfortunately, we can't confirm that. The food was okay, but we've eaten Middle Eastern/Arabic food many times before, and our expectations were accordingly high. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but not outstanding. Much worse, however, was the fact that there were only two servers in a sold-out restaurant. Accordingly, it took a long time for us to get drinks and then finally the "test plate" for the all-you-can-eat menu. The menu stated that the first round offered three portions/small plates, and then you could eat as you wished. So, after waiting so long for the very first order, I wanted five mini portions for the second order, because we didn't want to spend 3-4 hours there, but wanted to get full at some point. So I ordered five portions, and the waiter, who was about 18 years old, very rudely informed me that that wouldn't work for them. Three portions maximum. Then I showed him the exact wording on the menu and asked what we were arguing about. We had ordered all you can eat, and we're old enough to order as many portions as we can eat. After that, we immediately had another server because he obviously didn't want to serve us anymore. Overall, though, it was a very disappointing occasion for my wife's birthday because there was simply no friendly or relaxed atmosphere. And we spent significantly more time there than we wanted because the portions are so incredibly small and two servers are simply not capable of serving an estimated 80 guests. So we can't recommend the Karawane. Last weekend, we went back to the Araber in Bad Godesberg. We ate about the same amount there for half the price. And the service was outstandingly good. So our alternative is Hauraman in Godesberg. Give it a try.

I liked the way they handled the “all you can eat” concept, and how it helps reduce food waste. However, the service was too slow between each round, and the portions were very small—three portions per each round barely filled us up. We ended up waiting a long time for only 3–4 rounds of tiny servings. The food was good, but not “very good”. Overall, I felt it was definitely overpriced for what you get.

I was back in our beloved caravan with a friend for the first time in a long time... and unfortunately, it wasn't the experience we were used to. I'm always impressed by the concept. The food was once again very tasty. We found it very irritating and inappropriate that, given the significant price increase (with all due respect), bread now also has to be paid for separately. Even if you come to the meal hungry, the profit margin remains so high that at least a portion of bread should be included. What really struck us as negative this time was the service. The big exception was the really friendly and personable woman behind the bar, that's worth mentioning. The other two waiters weren't very attentive, and eye contact with the guests seemed unknown. Few friendly words, just standard phrases (we've experienced this quite differently... I don't need anyone to entertain me when I go to a restaurant, but a friendly word or two helps to make me feel at ease). The crowning glory of the whole thing was the serving of the coffee we had ordered. My coffee arrived first, placed there without a word. My girlfriend's mocha arrived a little later, and the small tray it was served on was slammed down on the table next to ME without a word – and before we could react, the "server" was gone again. THAT'S unacceptable! What a pity! I was always willing to pay a little more for the Karawane experience and, after every visit, I felt like going back right away. This time, things are quite different, because all in all, I'll think carefully about when I next go to the Karawane, given the significantly worse value for money. And it would be so easy to significantly improve the service (even for the critics – the Karawane was well attended, but not overly full – and even when you're busy, one more friendly word doesn't slow you down too much).

Cool concept with the tour. We really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is simply decorated, but the pictures were beautiful, as were the figures! I'd love to come back. If you want to try something new and different, I can recommend this restaurant!

The Karawane concept has been a success for many years. This kind of all-you-can-eat is a nice idea. We returned after about five years, and apart from the fact that bread now costs extra, little had changed. The interior is so-so (according to the staff, it's a former kindergarten), and the dishes seemed very familiar. Even though the menu changes regularly and the names of the dishes are different, the offerings are very consistent. Unfortunately, on our last visit, we had a very extroverted waiter who thought he was incredibly funny – we didn't. Unfortunately, he distributed his attention very unevenly, and since we were sitting at the back table, we didn't get much of it and had to wait a correspondingly long time to order. People like that can ruin a restaurant. From previous visits, we were used to much more attentive staff. What a shame. We won't be visiting the Karawane again for the time being.

Wonderful idea to offer 9 different dishes to try every week and then you can eat your way through. The selection was very tasty, I particularly liked the lamb, but all the other dishes were also very tasty. The Lebanese Chardonnay was very floral and rich. Friendly staff. For 2 people, with wine and water, you can expect to pay around €90. Reservations on weekends are recommended.

The concept is interesting but I find it far too expensive. They are very simple, mostly cold starters that require little effort to prepare. That's totally overpriced in my opinion and of the 9 little things there was only one slightly "high quality" meat dish. The rest is nothing special. Very simple things that were not of high quality at all. Unfortunately not worth a second visit.

Mega concept & great food! I'm really excited! I had never heard of a concept like this before: First a small sample of 9 different dishes - great for getting to know each other - and then all-you-can-eat with table service. Everything was really tasty, brilliantly seasoned and the recipes were really creative. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is very cozy – all around a great experience! Gives (almost) full marks from me: 4 stars. The 5th star will be given as soon as Visa debit and credit cards are accepted - that would be really desirable these days. I'll definitely come back anyway!

The teas are very good and recommended! The dishes on the tour were also delicious, although it has to be said that the selection is rather limited if you choose the vegetarian or even vegan version. When we visited, the restaurant was about 2/3 full and we never had to wait long to be asked by the very friendly staff if we would like to order more. The next round came promptly. We were well full and left satisfied. I personally found the atmosphere in the restaurant moderately appealing. Overall, a solid experience and not a restaurant choice I regret, but I won't go back again.

Not recommended if you know ORIGINAL oriental cuisine Germans try and really try to cook oriental cuisine there. Definitely a place we will go to again, especially since the menu selection changes every 14 days.

But it is not possible to eat all 9 delicacies a second time. Unfortunately. Absolutely recommended. The staff is extremely friendly and nice. In the mood for humorous jokes and play along. That makes me think of the nice, friendly, male waitress who had a children's bar for me as "dessert". Not cheap, but good. It's also all you can eat. Absolutely recommended. So, all-you-can-eat, 9 small samples of oriental cuisine are served on one plate, there are meat, vegetarian and vegan versions. After that, you can order 3 dishes as often as you want, which means larger portions. Everything was well thought out, the dishes are numbered on the menu from 1 to 9 and the respective numbers are also on the first plate and on all subsequent individual plates. You always know what you are eating. Price/performance ratio is okay. In addition to the classic soft drinks, there are also unusual and delicious juice spritzers, iced teas and teas. Mochas on the menu. For dessert we had the creme brulee, dates in cinnamon with vanilla ice cream and the vegan ice cream. Everything really good and tasty. The two waiters were very attentive, friendly and quick, you could say perfect. We had a cozy spot outside the restaurant, unfortunately on plastic chairs. Inside, the furnishings are much higher quality. The restaurant is in a residential area, but we all found a nearby parking space with 3 cars, on a sunny Saturday evening in September. Cash and debit/debit cards are accepted for payment, no credit cards. We all really enjoyed it and for us the caravan is a clear recommendation.

Super delicious food! I was totally surprised that there was a restaurant like this in the village! The village is usually full of German restaurants... here and there an Italian or Greek. All the better that the caravan brings more diversity to village life and also with a vegan option, which unfortunately I didn't try. But I think it's great! Wir haben mit einer Karaffe Wasser 59€ bezahlt. Trinkgeld zusätzlich. Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder und würden es nicht weiter empfehlen. Die Einrichtung sieht mitgenommen aus und draußen darf man auf altbacken Kunststoffstühlen Platz nehmen. Das passt nicht zu dem stolzen Preis.

The food was okay but nothing special as far as oriental cuisine goes. Unfortunately the falafel was baked too dry/crispy. The price is 28.50 per person (I think), which in my opinion is a bit too high for the food on offer. Iced tea 6.50…is rather above average. Ambience a bit uncomfortable. There is a cat in the restaurant, very very relaxed and cute. Conclusion: OK to try out.

If you are invited here by your strange ***f ***f friends: Do yourself a favor and go get a kebab somewhere else first and preferably a few beers, because you won't get full here. The portions are tiny and you need at least 10-15 portions to be even remotely full as a grown man. About two years ago, I went to a restaurant called Karawane in Oberkassel and found their food to be delicious, so I wanted to go there again with my friends. When we arrived, the waitress asked what we would like to drink. Three people said they wanted regular water, while my other friends ordered different drinks. The waitress told us that we could only order water in either 0.5-liter or 1-liter quantities. Since there were three of us, we ordered two 1-liter bottles of water. When the drinks arrived, the water was served in a pitcher. My friend requested that the water be brought in a sealed bottle. The waitress said that unfortunately, they did not have sealed bottles and that they had 1.5-liter sealed bottles inside, but due to system reasons, they couldn't bring them. My friend and I then canceled the water order and asked for iced tea instead. The waitress said she would check inside to see if there was a way to bring the sealed bottle and went inside. After a while, an older man, whom I thought was the manager, came to us with a sealed 1.5-liter plastic bottle and showed it to us. We thanked him and asked for it to be served. The man went back inside, and when the waitress returned, she brought two pitchers of water again. We did not understand why the bottle was not opened at our table. Actually, we thought the problem was solved when the man came with the bottle, but we were faced with the same issue again. Although we were a bit annoyed by this, we decided not to make a fuss and canceled the water order to order drinks again. Then the older man came and asked us to leave the restaurant. I never understood the reason for this rude behavior. Not having sealed water in a restaurant (by the way, when sparkling water is ordered, it is brought to the table in a bottle) and not being able to fulfill this very simple request, and the person who came not finding a solution but instead approaching in the opposite manner, I never understood. I was very upset because I had recommended this restaurant to my friends, and I am writing this so that no one else has the same problem. I hope no one else experiences the disappointment I did.

Given that the kitchen closes at 10 p.m., the “food” now turns into a gallop because you can only order three Tastys at a time. A nice evening can be different and we would have liked to have eaten in peace…. Conclusion service flop.

It was our first time eating in the caravan. We know this cuisine quite well from frequent trips to various Arab countries and also to Turkey and Israel. We also like to cook Arabic and love tagines. This is just to start with. If you don't know Arabic/Turkish cuisine, the caravan might be your first introduction. We will definitely not eat there again. The service is great, but out of 10 plates of food offered, 5 tasted less good. The remaining 5 were quite spicy, so that my mouth burned quite a bit. Under no circumstances is the price of over 28 euros justified. And offering schnitzel or sliced ​​turkey with fries as an alternative to all-you-can-eat is definitely a deterrent. How about a nice tagine or lamb skewers? The ambience typical of the Orient is non-existent and is not reflected in the rooms at all. This can't create a mood. A pity!

Oriental cuisine with a difference: the menu is served to you, you then choose what you particularly liked. I really enjoy coming here. Tip: You can be unlucky without a table reservation. Addendum: Our bank only issues debit cards. Unfortunately they are not accepted. Please bring cash.

Die kulinarische Rundreise ist super lecker und man kann sich kaum entscheiden wovon man noch einen Nachschlag nehmen möchte und dann noch zusätzlich darauf zu achten, dass man ja auch noch das Dessert probieren muss! Die Datteln um Teigzimtmantel waren vorzüglich! 🥰 Hier werden vegetarische und vegane Vorlieben gut bedient und da ich persönlich darauf achte, konnte man mir auf nachfrage auch sagen, dass die Eier aus Bio Haltung stammen. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und zügig auch unserer Tochter gegenüber. Danke an das tolle Team. Das Ambiente ist sehr ruhig, da baulich Zwischenwände eingezogen sind, was mir sehr entgegen kommt. Auf den Tischen wird neben einer Kerze, auf zusätzliche Dekoration verzichtet, es wird aber schnell klar, dass es an der Art der Darreichungsform der Speisen liegt. Diese werden, vorausgesetzt man nimmt die Rundreise, nach dem Probenteller immer auf bis zu drei kleinen Tellern pro Person serviert. Da kann man auf weitere Dekoration auch schon mal gerne verzichten. 😉 Die Toiletten sind klein aber sehr sauber und bestens ausgestattet auch mit Wickeltisch. Das Highlight unserer Tochter war die zum Restaurant gehörende sehr besucher/kinderfreundlichen Katze, die sie nach dem Essen ausgiebig streicheln durfte. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist hier stimmig. Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Abend!

Schreiende Kinder, Riesenfamilien neben den Pärchentischen, 0 Feingefühl für Gäste, Essen in Ordnung, keine Hauptgänge, eigentlich nur Vorspeisen wie orientalische Tapas. Haben Gutscheine geschenkt bekommen, leider ein Reinfall. Besonders günstig ist es auch nicht. Für das Geld solltet ihr lieber was anderes machen.
