Kakkoii Sushi Grill & Bar in Osnabrück

It's a shame, I was always a regular customer, but unfortunately you've lost me with the new concept. I won't be coming back. The price-performance ratio isn't right anymore, and the sushi isn't as good either.

I recently visited Kakkoii and unfortunately discovered that they've changed their system. Now you have to wait a full twelve minutes between orders, which makes it a less appealing choice for lunch. I've never had problems with waiting times before, but this last visit was disastrous. Personally, I would have preferred a price increase instead of having to wait forever between orders; it's a real shame.

Delicious! 10 out of 10. Service was excellent.

We were really looking forward to the evening and the meal, but yesterday we were disappointed. The food wasn't very tasty; the meat and grilled vegetables tasted as if they had been on the grill or in the oven for too long or even twice. The men's restroom was closed for renovations, and the designated women's restroom was still covered in construction dust. There were no towels. The only positive thing was the staff. Despite being overworked, they were still professional and friendly.

Unfortunately, today was our last visit to Kakkoi. A complete disappointment. We were looking forward to a nice and delicious evening with the family. While the service was genuinely friendly, it was utter chaos. Orders arrived completely jumbled, far too late (we sometimes waited over an hour for our dishes...) or not at all. Some of the food was absolutely inedible. The drink glasses weren't clean; some even had lipstick residue on the rims! Unfortunately, the place wasn't very clean overall. The restrooms, in particular, were absolutely disgustingly dirty. It's such a shame. The evening was a complete disaster. The noise level made it impossible to even have a proper conversation.

I was here on December 18, 2025, and got food poisoning the next day. Absolutely not recommended!

We visited Kakkoii again today after more than three years, and unfortunately, my wife and I found that things have changed. Please stop drowning the food in soy sauce; that's why we stopped eating Ishiban in the first place. Secondly, the soy sauce is so diluted; it would be better to just not serve it at all, or at least use pre-packaged packets. You can do better than that.

You can definitely have a nice evening here. The food isn't outstanding, but it's perfectly adequate.

We ate there today. The service was very unfriendly. We had the all-you-can-eat option. In the end, we had five maki rolls and a few other bits left over. They charged us an extra €2 per person for that. I've experienced much better customer service.

I was looking forward to some delicious and fresh sushi, and based on the reviews, that's what I expected. (All you can eat) The appetizers had a great selection and were tasty, then came the sushi, which is why I chose this place in the first place. I absolutely cannot recommend it. The rice is far too soft and, like many other things, has a strange aftertaste. The nori sheets are the cheapest you can get; they taste as pale as they are. But the worst part is the salmon: it tasted awful, more like it was past its prime, and it made me wonder how I would feel afterward. There was definitely no going back for another round after stuffing myself with the food. Dessert was okay. Quality absolutely has to be a priority, especially when it comes to taste and freshness.

The quality has deteriorated significantly. The price-performance ratio is no longer acceptable. Every dish is drenched in the same sauce, so everything tastes equally salty. Furthermore, many items are no longer fresh and are often reheated.

We had reserved a table for six, and the reservation was confirmed. Ten minutes before the agreed time, we arrived at the restaurant to find more than twenty people already there, all claiming to have reservations. There was absolutely no structure: no orderly check-in, no calling of guests, no discernible prioritization. The staff seemed overwhelmed or disinterested – likely because a large number of waiting guests had already accumulated. We ourselves stood in line for about 25 minutes without any information or feedback and finally decided to go to another restaurant. During our wait, more guests with confirmed reservations arrived. I have never experienced such a poorly organized establishment. Since similar reports can be found here multiple times, this unfortunately doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Under these conditions, neither we nor the other guests present will be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Never again. We reserved a table because we had something special to celebrate. Reservation successful for 8 p.m. At 8:10 p.m., there was a huge line outside, including us, who had all made reservations. No apology, no explanation, nothing. We left and will never come back.

Despite having a reservation, I waited 15 minutes in the cold because there were no tables available. I then went to another restaurant. Never again.

I am truly shocked by the behavior of a female employee (red hair) at this restaurant. I have never experienced anything like it! She was extremely rude, insulted customers, and became loud – it even got to the point where the police had to be called. Furthermore, she was wearing leggings, which looks very unprofessional in a restaurant. Overall, her behavior was completely inappropriate and something no customer would expect. Very disappointing.

As always, it was very nice; nothing was missing. The children and we were very happy.

Reservation system is shit. Reserve voor 1830 and stand outside for an hour. Horrible.

Excellent all-you-can-eat sushi! It's a well-decorated, pretty, and really well-organized place. Ordering from the tablets is simple and efficient. A maximum of 3 rounds of 20 dishes is more than enough. The servers are responsive and understand. Just need to be more friendly sometimes. On the other hand, €33 for the buffet is really expensive! It's almost the same price as in Paris 🤣! Water costs €7 on top of that… Just a 500ml glass of thin glass is ridiculous! Be careful with the prices; soon people will end up avoiding restaurants.

Everything is delicious and we really enjoy eating there for lunch.

Disappointing. Many ingredients didn't taste fresh (e.g., avocado, edamame). The meat was poor quality; some pieces were even unchewable. One piece of sushi contained a shrimp tail. Generally, many things were simply inedible. Service was also unfriendly. However, at least the food came quickly.

Not good sushi. Sometimes garnished with mayonnaise or cocktail sauce (inside-out). Absolutely terrible. Plus, lots of greasy fried meat. The wall where we were sitting had grease or soy splashes on it, and a dry seaweed was stuck to it. A bit like a Japanese chip shop. A tourist trap, you'd call it, even on vacation.

All in all, just OK. There are quite a few of this type of "restaurant" in Osnabrück these days. Whether it's Ishiban, MISU, Kakkoii, An Choii, or Rimio... Compared to the others, the food tasted only OK. Some of the food was very dry and, above all, made you thirsty. The "beef fillet" meat was very thin or tiny cubes. Unfortunately, the service was a bit overwhelmed – we had to wait a long time before we finally got the tablet and could place our first orders. The price may be average for this "type" of restaurant – but if the taste and service aren't top-notch, then it's expensive. The restaurant has definitely declined in quality.

Everything tasted great. Potato dishes like sweet potato fries take time, so they should be ordered first. Just one thing: vegan labeling would be nice for many of the dishes. I asked the nice lady because they weren't sure about the ice cream and didn't provide any labels. She had to ask, and she wasn't sure. You don't want to create extra work for the staff, and it's hard to remember between visits. A small mark next to the name, a green symbol, or adding the information to all allergy texts (since some were missing) would be nice. As I said, otherwise everything was great, and it's always a pleasure to visit.

There's no allergy card. Although allergens are listed on the physical card, they're not labeled correctly/are missing from some items. For example, the rice had sesame seeds in it, even though it wasn't listed on the card. Furthermore, the allergens are completely missing from the order trays. Therefore, I couldn't eat anything there because I didn't want to risk a reaction.

More show than substance, unfortunately. The sushi hardly tastes like what it's rolled with; it's simply tasteless. The sushi is also rolled with an excessive amount of rice. Some of the seafood dishes smell strongly of fish. We're used to other sushi, with better quality and the same price. Service was friendly. But I can recommend everyone to try miso.

One of the tastiest restaurants in all of Osnabrück! The food is always delicious and of high quality, and everyone is very friendly and helpful, from the service to the explanation of the buffet ordering process. It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants, especially because you have to pay extra for certain dishes and drinks. But the taste is absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it to everyone!

The food was amazing, the service was super friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely. And the best part is the bathroom, because the walls are richly decorated with anime characters. A definite eye-catcher for fans. My dream bathroom! I'll definitely eat here again. 🍣

The food is great and we were really lucky with the service. The price is in the upper range but still ok. The only drawback: parking spaces... If the car doesn't fit in the parking garage it gets really tricky :-(

It looks better than it is. The rice is excellent. Fish and seafood tend to have little to no flavor and should be eaten with caution. Because: Unfortunately, the food (sushi) was not digestible; I still had some of it a day or two later.

+++UPDATE 06/23/25: We went to Kakkoii again today and were unfortunately very disappointed. First of all: The service was once again very friendly, helpful, and prompt. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was on a completely different (unfortunately poor) level than on our previous visit. The sushi rice was soft and mushy, the tuna had absolutely no flavor, the meat (especially the lamb chop) was tough, the fish was fatty, and the shrimp bland. I can say with full conviction that tonight's sweet potato fries were the only thing that tasted really good. Combining all of this with a significant price increase (now €32 per person for adults, and €1.80 instead of €1 per year of age for children) makes things even more difficult. We would have been happy to pay higher prices if the quality was right. This was probably our last visit to this restaurant. I found the food delicious and the staff surprisingly friendly. The interior design is also very Asian. Even the restrooms are beautifully designed.

A complete success all around. The tablet concept has been around for some time. It saves time and personnel resources. However, as a group, we felt well looked after at all times. We were regularly asked about drinks and whether everything was okay. Very friendly and accommodating. Plus, a relaxed atmosphere in a great setting!

The sushi was quite good, but there was too much rice compared to the fish and vegetables. You quickly felt stuffed. The taste was okay, but nothing spectacular. The prices were rather high. The staff were very friendly, but the cleanliness was a disaster, no matter where you looked. Restrooms, floors, corners, tables, and worn-out chairs. Just no way!

Unfortunately, the sushi consists only of rice, so you fill up quickly and make a decent profit from the all-you-can-eat menu. In addition, everyone at the table is forced to eat all-you-can-eat or à la carte. Definitely not a repeat due to the excessive rice ratio.

The sushi has more rice than fish. The portions are too large, so you get stuffed faster on the rice. The rice quality is also questionable. The kitchen is open, so you can observe everything going on there, like the dishwasher who was overwhelmed. Overall, it's a place where you can simply eat your fill rather than enjoy it.

This has always been my favorite sushi place, but unfortunately, the last time I went there, it wasn't very good. The sushi consisted only of rice and hardly any filling... very annoying and a shame considering the price of the evening buffet... The rest of the food was delicious, though. Sushi has way too much rice. It fills you up faster. The quality of the sushi and the hot dishes leaves a lot to be desired. I often go to Sushi AYCE, and this was unfortunately one of the most disappointing. The staff, however, is very friendly.

Unfortunately a huge disappointment! The sushi was okay, except the raw salmon one, which just didn't taste fresh. All dishes are drowned in a sauce (Terriyaki?) So really all of them, whether meat, fish, vegetables, so that everything tastes absolutely the same and the taste of the sauce drowns out everything and gets stuck in your throat at some point. You have to wait an extremely long time for warm dishes such as fish, shrimp and meat. After we pointed out to the waiter that the things hadn't arrived for an hour, we should order them again and he would personally make sure that they arrived in the kitchen. So what came out was beef, which has nothing to do with a beef fillet, but looks like fried cat food. Totally burnt, oversalted and drowned in sauce again. The lamb fillet was tough and smelled like an old animal and tasted the same. The shrimp were mealy and not fresh at all. So actually we're just waiting for the first symptoms of food poisoning or that we've had an upset stomach. Of course we didn't finish the food and not even half of the 3 rounds we ordered arrived. So we decided to complain again and see if we could find a compromise with the service, since we absolutely didn't see the point of not even getting the food for food that wasn't fresh and waiting for an hour. All we could offer was that we didn't have to pay for the drink, that was it as a gesture of goodwill. NEVER AGAIN!

We visited today, I can say one thing we won’t go there again, the soup is terrible, the sushi is not fresh, wasabi and ginger were brought when we asked (the first time this happened to us) we regretted 100 times that we went 40 km away, whoever writes that it’s good means you haven’t been and haven’t eaten Asian cuisine!!!!!

Visit every 3 months when I visit a nearby town. Always tasty and amazing staff. There's a reason why this is a part of my visiting schedule with my partner.

I don't think the food is that good, it looks good but the taste isn't what I expected, there's a lot of rice, a lot of rice and I also think the prices for the food are very expensive

The suhsi consists of a lot of rice and I found a lot of things not tasty and it wasn't even warm. We got a lot of things really cold. So far I thought yoi restaurant in Osnabrück was the best. Price was also too expensive. Unfortunately I think it should be cheaper for the quality...

I found 32€ for the few dishes on the menu too much I found yoi restaurant the best because the price is a bit expensive but they have a lot of quantities and selection and the quality is 100% better I wasn't happy with the price it's really too expensive for the quality and selection and it wasn't even warm and many tasted different there were good things but not that good that's why I think the price is too expensive....

When you see it from the outside, you want to keep driving. Inside you will be surprised by the dignified and great furnishings, a huge buffet and a great atmosphere. Food and service top.

There was little choice in the grill dishes. Much was not available. Unfortunately this was not reported. You just didn't get it with your order. The sushi had a fairly bland taste. You can order a lot of dishes, 20 dishes per round. There are a maximum of 10 rounds Not here for us anymore.

I was actually always happy until we were seated at a large table on Valentine's Day, despite having a reservation, which we were shortly afterwards allowed to share with three young teenagers who had a very unpleasant "date" at our table. None of the three wanted to eat anything, except for one, who was forced to get a small plate of makis. Why do I reserve a table when I can just seat strangers at the table without asking?

The service and staff were excellent, quick and friendly. The ambience is authentic, playful and in keeping with Japanese culture. However, it would be desirable for information about allergens to be consistently provided. Currently, this field remains blank for every meal, making it difficult to get a realistic overview. It would be helpful to know whether, for example, it contains cow's milk or traces of nuts. And also whether it is a vegan or vegetarian dish. (-⭐) In addition, the selection for vegans is unfortunately very limited. Even dishes like fried rice contain scrambled eggs, so there are hardly any alternatives available. A greater variety of purely plant-based options would be desirable here. Unfortunately the cocktails didn't taste that good. Virgin Swimming Pool and Virgin Mojito. (- ⭐)

I love eating here, but you have to cook/fry some of the chicken dishes longer, like the chicken balls. They're always slimy on the inside. You can't eat them as is.

Great service, great ambience… the speed until the food was at the table was remarkable. But Kakkoii couldn't convince me in terms of taste. In terms of taste, the rice lacked its rice vinegar. The soy sauce wasn't able to compensate. No matter whether dipped or bathed for 5 minutes. Simply flat in taste. Speaking of rice... it was the main ingredient in all the rolls and ensured that we were quickly full. The warm dishes were commercial kitchen compliant. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about either. After 2 rounds I said goodbye. It's a shame, the store has potential. If the owner reads the review, try to work on the flavor profile to turn customers into regulars. You deserve it

Food and service were very good. I can only recommend Kakkoii. It would still be nice if the fried sushi was warm. We'll definitely be back.

I was here today with my partner for the all you can eat buffet. It was a very nice experience to have eaten here. The staff in particular were very quick and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to go out for an all you can eat meal. Very good performance!

The lunch buffet is comparatively cheap and very tasty. Only the duck strips weren't cut all the way through, so it was a bit difficult to eat with chopsticks, but otherwise everything was great
