Parking spaces are rare. Salad selection very small.

We have been here many times. But with each visit the disappointment grew greater. The waiter/waitresses are often very disrespectful and unfriendly and if you don't give them a tip they cheekily ask for it. It's very loud there. Sometimes it's the music, sometimes it's the screaming children running around. A few times we noticed the boss arguing loudly with the waitresses in the middle... Unfortunately, the taste of the food has changed a lot over time. Unfortunately not recommended. Actually not even worth a star...

Food is always delicious, warm and fresh despite the buffet.

In my opinion, a nightmare on Saturday evening. A volume significantly higher than in a train station hall. Partitions in the large hall would help here. This has nothing to do with food culture, conversation was hardly possible. It's a shame considering the really great buffet and the excellent food.

We have been there 3 times with the family so far. In itself, the food at the lunch buffet is okay. However, when paying early, the waitress actively asked for a tip when we wanted to pay with a card and denied the tip before eating. Since we just sat down and ordered the drinks, we were asked again that we also pay a tip by card can. Which I found totally outrageous, we felt totally ripped off. In addition, the plates were still on the table for the second course, and they were not cleared away. It was all a bit too hectic for me. There are better restaurants in the surrounding area and the buffet is also more extensive. However, when it comes to this tip requirement, you can also scare them away. Tipping is not a must and is left to the guest individually. There are many other restaurants that offer a high quality lunch buffet 👍

Let's say food is OK. Was there during the week and the selection of Chinese dishes was a bit too thin for me personally. Some of the chair cushions looked pretty worn out. It's a shame, we could do more with it.

I have known the restaurant since it opened. We used to go there every week and felt very comfortable and the food and service were also very friendly. When I had mussel shells in my food, no, I didn't put any mussels on my plate and I injured my gums and tooth as a result and unfortunately the food always came to the table that evening cold, we took a break for two years. Today we decided to give it another chance and what can I say... food came to the table cold again. Despite complaining, we received no apology, let alone any “compensation”. At least we got free tea back then. The taste of the food was also no longer the same as it was back then. The sauces had no taste, the food wasn't fresh and even the buffet was partly cold.

The food is good and the service is excellent

I wasn’t able to take a photo or video of the food but it was a wonderful experience! We went there on a saturday dinner, it was a lot of people and a lot of kids at that time that is why a bit noisy. But the place has a lot of customers. No need for a reservation, except probably for special occasions or dates. A ton of food options and they always refill it. The price is about €23 per person. The drinks are not included. It is very worth it.

A lot of things here are designed for mass. You get a whole lot of different food for one flat price. Of course it is a bit louder due to the crowd. If you don't like that you can go to a smaller restaurant. I like going here, you can get lots of delicious things here at a good and fair price.

We've eaten there several times. In the end, however, we were not at all satisfied. The staff never came to ask if you wanted something to drink. Why... in the end I noticed that we had been charged for too many drinks. When I wanted to continue looking for what I actually had to pay for, the payment card was simply snatched out of my hand and held directly in front of the scanner. I have never experienced anything so brazen and I am hereby saying it publicly!!!!

It seems that their low ratings are not unreasonable. A very unpleasant dining experience. This is my first time giving a negative review to a restaurant.

What can you get with 22 euros in Germany now? A burger and some fries and some drinks in KFC. Here you can have fried fish, chicken, spring rolls, beef, shrimps, salad, sushi, ice cream, 8 kinds of fruits, cakes, also Chinese style BBQ with seafood lamb mushrooms etc. I don’t know what you get to complain about with this price.

The shrimp with the shell on were so dry that they couldn't be eaten. I think the buffet starting at 22 euros is overpriced and you can't eat without ordering something to drink otherwise you'll still pay extra! Personally I just found it unnecessary. You can't force someone to order something to drink and still have them pay if you don't want to

Were there yesterday with 8 plus 3 children. Have been there many times. But lately we've been noticing that the service is getting worse day by day. The Mongolian grill - the quality as the "searing" gets worse. There is a children's corner with just a television, no toys. I don't even know how you come to call it "Children's Corner". We will avoid the restaurant in the future... what a shame.

You have to order a drink, they kicked you out because I didn’t want to take it, the prices are crazy, for a small glass of water 4-5 euros, the food is not worth it

I wanted to go out for Chinese food today and was looking forward to it. That didn't happen. No greeting, unfriendly usher, and when I wanted to order the buffet and didn't have anything to drink, they tried to convince me and ask the boss... Conclusion: I was outside again after 2 minutes, they really don't know what customer means.

I like Chinese food and this culture. Here you can enjoy both. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food was very tasty and the selection was huge! (Buffet, Mongolian grill, sushi...) And the prices are moderate. However, if you plan to go there with several people, you should reserve a table. Update as of July 3rd, 2024 The quality of the evening buffet has noticeably decreased! You are required to pay BEFORE eating the buffet. Apparently the audience here is no longer able to pay or willing to pay. Food that has run out is no longer refilled as frequently as before. I chose the Mongolian cook, the meat was very oily, the vegetables were partly burnt and not tasty. Then I had spring rolls and breaded chicken strips tried. That finally ruined my appetite!! Chicken with a sour aftertaste and spring rolls as chewy as chewing gum!! This in no way justifies the price of €29.40 for an evening buffet with a large bottle of water. I'm so disappointed that I have to reduce my rating from 5 to 2 stars!!!

There was mold in my food and the service was rude

I made a reservation at Imperial Palace on June 29th for my wife's birthday. We were 50 people. We were even allowed to decode the room ourselves and the staff helped us a lot. The service was great and quick. The staff was very friendly, nice and accommodating. The food was very tasty. All of our concerns and questions were resolved quickly and at short notice. Even the children were happy. We all had a great time. We enjoyed our visit until the last moment. At the end I even got a gift from the boss. I can only recommend this restaurant. I'll go there again any time. The restaurant is highly recommended. I am very proud of the restaurant and the service team and grateful for our birthday celebration. I wish the restaurant good luck, much success and all the best. Thank you for everything.

On the day of our visit the place was packed. Entire tourist buses arrived. But the service was very friendly. The food was also as usual. Ambience: just very loud because of so many people.

I treated myself to an all-you-can-eat restaurant. The restaurant is on the first floor of a car dealership with a separate entrance. I wasn't welcomed but was told to sit at a table. Unfortunately it took a few minutes for the service to appear and ask me to order an additional drink. If I don't want a drink, I have to pay 2.00 euros. The cellar was friendly but he apologized because I had to wait longer at my table until he came. Afterwards I was allowed to go to the buffet. There is a sufficient selection of Chinese dishes and side dishes. The food offered was warm and the duck was dry and not particularly well seasoned. Beef strips were in an oily sauce with cooked vegetables. The sauce was well seasoned. Seafood scrambled eggs were almost cold. The food is refilled, but no longer towards the end of opening hours. The service is unfriendly and rattles the cutlery to make room so that empty food containers can be replaced. A friendly request to make a little space is missing. The floor is partly sticky, including in the toilets. But overall I give this restaurant the school grade: still satisfactory (3-).

Wir kennen den Kaiser Palast langjährig und sind oft und sehr gerne hier (...stets mittags an Werktagen) zu Gast. In jüngster Zeit wurde innen auch einiges renoviert - und das insgesamt stilvolle & gepflegte asiatische Ambiente sollte nun wirklich keinen Grund zum "Meckern" bieten (...die Lage des Restaurants - mitten in einem gemischten Gewerbe-/Wohngebiet - ist nun mal, wie sie ist). - Der Service des Personals ist aufmerksam & absolut vorbildlich. - Neben zahlreichen asiatisch-chinesischen Gerichten à la carte, Sonn-/und Feiertagsgerichten ... und einem üppigen Abendbuffet (mit mongolischen Grill) zieht aber vor allen anderen das Mittagsbuffet (werktags, von Montag bis einschl. Samstag) die Gäste (...so auch uns) magisch an. - Dieses wirklich opulente Buffet - nach dem Prinzip "all you ca eat" - kostet derzeit 11,50 Euro (Kinder bis 11-Jahre: 7,50 Euro) : Hierfür bekommt man eine große Auswahl an Vorspeisen aller Art (einschl. zweier Suppen, wovon die herrliche Peking-Suppe mein großer Favorit ist); eine wirklich riesige Auswahl an Hauptgerichten (einschl. Ente, Leber, Krabben mit Ei, Rindfleisch, gebratenen Nudeln und ... und ... und); eine große Auswahl an Desserts (einschl. diverser Eissorten, Früchten, Götterspeisen und ... und ... und) --- und ich behaupte mal, niemand wäre privat auch nur halbwegs in der Lage, ein mehrgängiges "all you can eat" Menü für 11,50 Euro (resp. 7,50 Euro) analog zuzubereiten. - Entsprechend findet man im Kaiser Palast werktags & mittags zahllose Gäste ohne jedwede soziale Unterschiede : Rentner, Werktätige, Manager, Soldaten in Uniform, Kinder & Jugendliche ... und... und ... und ausnahmslos ALLE können sich ein derart allumfassendes Menü vom Buffet offensichtlich problemlos leisten ... und genau das zeichnet den Kaiser Palast aus ... und macht ihn so beliebt bei "Alt & Jung" ... und das ist auch gut so. - Man sollte im Kaiser Palast keine "Geschmacksexplosionen aus der Molekularküche" - oder argentinische Steaks - vom 11,50 €-Buffet erwarten ... aber über dieses vielfältige & opulente & schmackhafte Essen meckern sollte man in dieser "Preisklasse" wirklich nicht : "dat is ne joode Lade he, da jonn me hin !!!"

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was not only tasteless but also not fresh. The ingredients seemed old and the dish was poorly prepared. Additionally, the waiter was very rude and didn't seem to care about the service at all. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant and will definitely not be returning.

Food is tasty and a good selection. The ambience is nice inside, outside next to car dealerships and a bit of a ghetto feeling. But that doesn't affect the quality of the food. If desired, meat and fish can be freshly prepared by chefs. Definitely worth a trip

The staff is friendly but very stressed and there are too many mistakes like... Incorrect orders are brought to the table or completely forgotten. Yes, children are just children, but I have to ask myself whether you have to take children under 8 years old with you who behave as if they were on a playground. That also ruins your mood and it costs a lot of money if you want to go out to eat with your partner or parents. So actually I was always happy there but after today, it was my last visit there!!! The food was all cold, the duck only consisted of fat and the mushrooms were still raw inside... the mussels at the Mongolian were a joke once you found one and not all the shells were empty..... there were mussel shells in the squid splinter. So I was disappointed, and when I answered no to the question of whether it was tasty and explained my problems, the lady just said, "Oh, right," turned around and left... but you can laugh at the tip that was actually undeserved assume. I would rather go to Refrath because the food is always good and you are taken seriously as a guest!!!

Went there for the buffet for the first time today. Parking spaces available in the immediate vicinity. Access via stairs. Very large restaurant, quite full. The food disappointed us... lukewarm to cold Neutral in taste (in our opinion)...partially unappetizingly prepared...Peking soup was (at least this afternoon) like pudding in consistency, very thick. The staff is somewhat friendly, but rather annoyed. You have to wait a while for drinks. We won't come again! Our conclusion: quantity instead of quality!!

The food was very good. We were there for the buffet so there wasn't much to do in terms of service. It wasn't that crowded that day, which was very nice.

We went out to eat with three children aged 11, 9 and 2. My husband ordered a grill that was very unappetizing, some of it was raw meat after he handed over the plate because it didn't taste good. A man from the service came and complained about our 2 year old daughter, she was too loud and we couldn't raise her properly. Very outrageous, we will never come back and will spread the word about it to those around us.

Unfortunately the lunch turned out very, very bad. Food was already rubbery and lukewarm. The highlight was the service that pushed pasta and other food that had fallen out from the shelf back into the warming container - disgusting. Given the number of visitors, which has fallen sharply, you should have noticed that something was wrong. Hopefully they'll catch up again.

The decor is more than beautiful. However, the people there are not really clear about what they are selling. When asked if they had gluten-free alternatives, they said they could eat anything on site. Quote from the waiter: "Soy sauce is always gluten-free. It's made from soy." What can I say?! Unfortunately, this is not the case and soy sauce usually always contains wheat. Unless it says so. So I only ate chips and salad there. However, I also had difficulties afterwards. I assume that wheat was involved somewhere here too. Unfortunately there was no notice about allergens or anything like that. What a shame!

The food was rather lukewarm, the service was somehow uninterested and the ambience wasn't great. A palace that is very large. But the ice cream was delicious...well I was full.

I was there today with friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff was very nice and the food was delicious.

The food was really delicious. We particularly liked the large selection of raw meat, fish and other things that could be grilled with different sauces!

The culinary experience itself revealed an average texture, however the culinary element of the rice was adulterated by overcooking, resulting in an undesirable macerated texture. The non-alcoholic mixed drinks, on the other hand, proved to be praiseworthy and should be enjoyed without restriction. I would also like to emphasize the extraordinary friendliness of the staff. 😉

Ich muss leider sagen, dass mein Besuch in diesem Restaurant äußerst enttäuschend war. Das Essen war von minderer Qualität, geschmacklos und teilweise sogar ungenießbar. Die Servicebedingungen ließen ebenfalls zu wünschen übrig, mit langen Wartezeiten, unfreundlichem Personal und fehlender Aufmerksamkeit gegenüber den Gästen. Besonders enttäuschend war die Tatsache, dass die Kellnerin äußerst unhöflich reagierte, als ich mit Karte bezahlen wollte. Als ich dann kein Trinkgeld geben wollte, wurde sie noch unhöflicher. Insgesamt eine enttäuschende Erfahrung, die ich nicht wiederholen werde. Es gibt definitiv bessere Optionen in der Umgebung.

If you read the reviews, you get the impression that there are two Imperial Palaces. We were there several times years ago and were very satisfied, then about 2 weeks ago on a Tuesday and last weekend on a Saturday, each time around 6 p.m. We cannot confirm the bad reviews. The Imperial Palace cooks the way most people imagine Chinese food to be, which is not particularly authentic. But that doesn't mean the food isn't tasty! In fact, it's better to come during the week, otherwise it's very crowded and correspondingly noisy. If small children play chase between the tables and scream shrilly, the parents should be held responsible and not the restaurant. When making a reservation, it is therefore advisable to ask for a table away from the play area. The place is really big enough. The service was friendly and attentive despite all the hustle and bustle. The sanitary facilities were a bit older, but they were clean and equipped with everything throughout the evening. The same applies to the restaurant. Both during the week and on Saturday, the buffet was always well supplied, even if some guests overloaded their plates with prawns, replenishment came very quickly. The dishes were hot and seasoned differently. One or two dishes were a little salty. But you can definitely stick to the raw, unseasoned ingredients and then season them yourself after cooking. The selection is very large. I didn't try the sushi myself, it was easy to see that it wasn't homemade. On Saturday (I didn't check on Tuesday) all containers were well filled around 9:30 p.m. The Kaiser Palast is certainly not a gourmet restaurant, but the prices are correspondingly moderate.
