Kaffeehaus Solingen in Solingen

Yesterday, we went to the coffee shop after the market festival. It was very crowded, which is understandable given the event, and we also understood that the staff were very busy. Unfortunately, something happened that spoiled our experience: A server accidentally knocked over our glasses... things like that can happen, of course. But we were completely covered in the drink: our pants, shoes, jackets, bags, and even our cell phones were wet. What really disappointed us, however, was the way the situation was handled. No offer of help was made, and only after we asked for it were we even brought a cloth. We were told in an unfriendly and completely inappropriate tone that we were "sitting in the way" - at a perfectly normal table that had been placed there by the staff themselves. Mishaps can always happen, but the way we were handled afterward makes all the difference. And unfortunately, that was disrespectful and unprofessional here.

I had breakfast here on a Sunday to celebrate my birthday. Pre-order was implemented as requested, we sat on the upper floor in beautifully designed rooms. The service was very attentive and friendly. All guests enjoyed it! Thank you.

A beautiful place with charming interior, every booth and seating area is different from the other. The food is delicious, there is something for every taste and diet. And the staff is friendly and polite. There is also a terrace at the front so you can sit outside and enjoy good food and hopefully good weather.

I had a nice evening at Restaurant. Unfortunately, the background noise bothered me a bit because there were only two of us eating, but at times we almost didn't understand each other at all.

Game dish ordered specifically because of Brussels sprouts. Unimaginatively served or slapped on a deep plate. A little ragout, a little spaetzle, 5 small Brussels sprouts. You shouldn't go hungry. The taste is okay, but nothing special either. As I said, after previous disappointment, we wanted to try again, but unfortunately it wasn't satisfactory. Too bad.

Unfortunately, you have to be careful with food here: a lot of convenience, which comes very quickly, but is presented carelessly. Something wasn't cooked through, you'll notice it the next day :-(

We were able to enjoy a very tasty goose meal. Attentive service, extremely cozy atmosphere, promising menu. The goose was great and especially the dumplings!!!

We were there for dinner with 6 people. It was very disappointing because out of 6 meals, 3 were cold. The quality also deteriorated significantly and the service was very overwhelmed. We won't go there to eat anymore.

Service on the terrace was a disaster! We returned there thirsty after a hike and were lucky to find a spot on the terrace. Although the terrace was well attended and we showed a lot of patience, the waitress did not manage to provide us with two drinks within 60 minutes, despite repeated requests. Thanks for nothing.

The food was good. Unfortunately, we were unlucky with a very inexperienced/nervous waitress who had a few mishaps (including a broken bottle and red wine on the guest). Of course that is not the rule. Recommended under normal circumstances.

Very cozy restaurant that serves almost everything from meat dishes to vegetarian. The selection of cakes is also very good. The location is very nice, mid en in Gräfrath with a view of the historic core.

The coffeehouse burger is pretty much the best burger I've eaten in my life. Not a limp wheat flour bun, but a delicious, crunchy wholemeal bun. And the burger sauce... A poem! I would also like to mention the delicious fried potatoes here. Fried crispy with lots of bacon. It couldn't be better 😋😋😋 The waitresses are all very nice and very attentive. So everything is highly recommended. Many greetings from Mannheim, 300 kilometers away P.S. Since I currently go to Solingen twice a month, I always try to visit the coffee house in Gräfrath at the end❤️

Super cute restaurant whose name and external appearance (it looks much smaller from the outside than it is) should not be fooled. We dined here with a group of 12 people and although the restaurant was full, there were no problems with either the service or the food. The coffee house is super cute and we had something to ourselves on the upper floor, which I thought was really great. The food was really tasty, lots of choice at good prices. The service was very friendly and quick. I would like to come again because I was very enthusiastic.

A wonderful place. Great, antique-looking guest room and seating. Several rooms provide comfort. The food comes quickly, to the point and in good portions. Delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive.

The coffee house is located directly on the old market square in Solingen-Gräfrath and impresses with original feel-good furnishings, a great selection of cakes and very attentive service staff. For me, this is where you get the best coffee in all of Solingen.

I was in the café at around 10 a.m. and wanted to reserve a table for a group yesterday. Doors were open and staff were in the kitchen chatting. We made eye contact after I audibly said “Good morning.” Yet I continued to be ignored. Coffee machines and dispensers were in operation, which gave the impression that it was open. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the opening times posted anywhere in the restaurant. Of course I was there early (kudos to Google) but then they could have made me aware of it instead of looking at me and ignoring me. It's not the end of the world but I still find it a bit outrageous.

Food was very, very tasty. The large crust is highly recommended as the meat is tender as butter The triplets top. Attention only for people who are very hungry The wok with chicken could have been a little bit more rice but otherwise very good. We would like to come back again. Prices for the large portions and drinks are reasonable

The best pulled beef burger I've ever eaten. The chef simply knows his craft. In addition, they don't skimp on sauces or portion sizes like other restaurants. You get a decent portion for a very fair price that tastes very good. Top!! 👍 The only thing that could bother people is that the terrace outside is sinking like the Titanic. You sit a little crooked, but I'm not deducting a star for that because the ambience is really nice and they probably aren't allowed to change that.

Favorite cafe in Solingen Gräfrath

No matter whether summer or winter, a coffee house is always a good choice. Certainly in summer, when the weather is nice, there could be more staff. After all, on our last visit we had to wait over 90 minutes for our food. There were 7 of us there and we had a lot to tell each other, so the waiting time wasn't that bad, but 2 waitresses outside is a bit short. The atmosphere in the coffee house is always very nice. I was there as a student. Now I still go there with my grown sons.

Ate very tasty. Penne with chanterelles and steak strips. Mega. Friendly service. I would definitely like to come back 👍

Located on the historic market square in Solingen-Gräfrath, the “Kaffeehaus Solingen” offers its guests a friendly welcome. During our summer holidays we stayed in Gräfrath for two days and had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast. We had scrambled eggs with ham and onions, scrambled eggs with tomatoes and mozzarella and a vegetarian breakfast. We all agreed that it tasted excellent. Thanks to the whole team 🙏

We sat outside and had a drink. The service was nice and there wasn't a long wait and the hot midday sun was easy to bear under the parasol with a view of the pretty market square.

We always enjoy coming here. Everything is really harmonious here: the food is very tasty, the menu is quite extensive and the prices are really fair, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere inside and out is cozy and you feel comfortable! We always love being there and enjoy it like we're on vacation. P.S. Beef tartare and roast beef with fried potatoes and tartar sauce would also be great on the menu! 😀

Mostly satisfied for years. Disaster today, long wait but even worse the messed up dish of the day Lotte. Normally it tastes similar to lobster, but here it is initially served raw, gelatinous on the inside, and after a complaint, it is ineptly prepared due to its lack of fiber. Apparently the same chef as usual. Very disappointed, but expected payment.

I haven't been there in a while but it's still just as quaint and cozy as it used to be. This small historic house has been designed with so much love that you feel completely at home. The food is delicious and has a good price/performance ratio. We had pasta dishes that I can only recommend. Cheese spaetzle and penne with chanterelles. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The village around it is a mountain gem.

I've been to the coffee house several times and have always been satisfied, hence the 3 stars. But yesterday I was very disappointed. I ordered veal sausage with curry sauce and bread. I got bratwurst with potatoes and a very sweet dark brown sauce. The sausage was “drowned” in this sauce. That definitely wasn't curry! Since I was hungry I accepted it, but later told the waiter and a waitress when asked that it wasn't tasty and wasn't right. An apology would have been nice. My partner was asked after the first drink if he wanted anything else. I wasn't asked. When the drink came I was ignored again. Only after the waitress served the neighboring table and I said loudly that I would like another coffee did anyone react. When I finally wanted to pay, it took another 20 minutes before the bill came. The place wasn't full. I hope it was just an exception, but curry and curry sauce are yellow to light brown and not dark brown and sweet.

Food was OK. But it wasn't obvious that the burger had different cooking levels. After complaining, the waitress became rude. It was very loud and stuffy. It gets worse but it also gets better.
